Present Time, Ash's P.O.V

"They found us! Quick everyone get your belongings while you still can!"

I snapped out of my thoughts as one of the remaining lookout scouts, Walter, ran around and shouted about the infected slowly nearing our position. This in turn caused many of the survivors to panic as they all started grabbing the few items they had managed to save before escaping. Sighing I sent Pikachu an apologetic look as he was sucked into his pokeball

It was too good to be true that they wouldn't be able to find us. We've gone quite a good amount of time without any sighting from them... but like every good thing, they must soon come to an end

"How'd they even find us?" asked Violet as she clutched her broken quick ball tied around her neck. She like many others had lost her partner Pokemon with the only remainder being the old quick ball in which her partner had been captured. She's a sweet and naïve girl from the Unova region, being lucky to have escaped after her partner sacrificed himself for his trainer

Turning around I saw Jackson sighing at her question as he turned towards her "Guess not even Mount Silver can protect us anymore" he said with a hollow tone. Jackson is the second oldest of our group, mostly known as our medic and defender. He's one of the lucky few to have escaped Kanto, being in the wrong place at the right time as according to him, he was literally the only remaining human to have not been able to get out with the other Kantonian survivors

A chuckle could be heard making me want to hit my head as I noticed everyone turn towards the Grim Reaper, who was currently leaning on the wall "You sound surprised as if you actually thought that this would hold them back. Wake up and smell the roses, the infected have different types of Pokemon affected by the virus and in case you forgot whatever caused the stupid virus made it so none of them are affected by weaknesses anymore"

Sometimes I want to really hit that guy. The only reason why Azrael even got that nickname was due to having the highest infected kill count. I can say all I want about him, but even I got to admit he's like a different person on the field and without him, many of us wouldn't be here

Penny, unlike the others had suffered major damage during her escape in Alola. She had lost her entire team and her arm. Now before you go on and say that one of the infected ripped it off her, let me stop you right there. If she had in fact been infected, all of us would have become zombified as well... so nope she's clean. The truth is that she had to unfortunately cut of her arm after being crushed by bolder and since it was clear she wouldn't be able to use it anymore, off went the arm. Fortunately, she was lucky to have gotten a prosthetic thanks to our resident mechanic

Our mechanic is called Oliver, but everyone here just called him Ollie instead. He's the same age as me and is from the Hoenn Region. He never told us his story of how he escaped, but it was probably for the best since every time his home region is brought up, he gets this sort of look on his face that's sorta hard to explain... like a faraway look

Hinami for being a 13-year-old, is quite the strategist as she got the job of being tactical. She used to be a shy and timid girl, but after seeing the death of her brother and one of her Pokemon a month before we arrived on Mount Silver, she did a complete 180 change in personality... and to be honest I sometimes miss that young innocent girl

"You're all a bunch of idiots you know that" a gruff voice said

Of course, I forgot about Grey... the jerk, oldest and unfortunately weapons expert of our ragtag group. He's a former member of Team Rocket, who happened to have defected after being asked to do something against his morals. He should be considered extremely lucky in this case, since that's what saved him from becoming infected like the other members

"If you want to beat these infected, maybe you should ask the freak of our fraction" mumbled Grey as I shot him an irritated look, but he ignored it and continued "Isn't he supposed to be one of our secret weapons to fight against the infected?"

Azrael sighed as he pushed away from his comfortable position "He isn't a weapon, Grey! Ash is a person like the rest of us"

I changed my mind about Azrael, he's not as bad as I make him sound at times. It's sometimes easy to forget that he can be quite mature for his age, being 2 years younger than me and all...

"Whatever" Grey responded as Azrael send an apologetic look towards me, which I shrugged off but nonetheless sent the teen an appreciated look for trying

Walter suddenly came back, having gathered his necessary equipment and relayed the news about the currently position of the infected and how long they would take before reaching us

"Hmm we're gonna have to use the teleporter. Just hope there's enough juice in them" Ollie said as he took out a few small xtransceivers that he had modified to include the able to be able to transport from one place to another... but only if that other place had a signal for the device to locate

Looking one last time at the place we had called home for a month, I once again found myself in a flashback to 4 months ago... when the world crisis happened... the day everyone realized that things would no longer be the same

I promised myself I wouldn't do this, but yes a few survivors are revealed in this chapter... however others like May, Red, Dawn, Max, those guys aren't revealed cause I didn't want to just up and reveal there fates. So I decided to just go with characters who haven't been seen in the past chapters and no you probably won't see them since their stories are basically explained here. Also what Grey said about Ash being a secret weapon will be revealed soon, since I also didn't want to put that in here. In other words, I didn't want to reveal anything important, just wanted to have an interlude and show what's happening in present time ;)
P.S. Yes I know in the prologue I said that Pikachu was Ash's only companion, but some time has pasted since that and also there was always people their, just that they were doing there own thing at the time
