Summary: Just why does Jack O'Neill like the Minnesota sunshine so much?
A/N: This is my response to the word of the week challenge on the SJFic list. Word: Sunshine.
April 2006
"Why do I like this damn hot sun so much?" Jack grumbled to himself as he wiped the sweat off of his forehead with the back of his hand. "I mean, it's hot, it makes everything else hot, it's really bright and did I mention that it's hot." He continued rambling on as he swung his axe over his head and split the log that he was aiming at.
Jack pushed his sunglasses back up on to his nose, they had shifted when he had swung at the log and were slowly falling off. Jack dropped his axe beside the nice little pile of firewood that he had just created and started to rub his shoulder. Jack saw something move out of the corner of his eye and turned to face his cabin.
He saw Sam walking out into the bright sunshine with two beers in her hands. Jack breath got caught in his throat when he saw he and he suddenly remembered why he liked the bright hot sun so damn much. The sun illuminated Sam's blonde hair and made he look like an angel. 'My Angel' Jack thought as he took on of the offered bottles and kissed the woman he loved. Sure, the sun was hot and bright but, it most certainly had it's advantages.
