Chapter 5, baby! Thanks so much for your continued support, especially since this is my first-ever story on fanfiction. Guys, I'm sad though. You guys aren't reviewing. I may or may not make it that so in order for me to post a new chapter, I need to have a certain amount of reviews on each, so don't be the one that makes others have to wait for a new chapter! All rights to Rick Riordan. On with the story, then!
Percy's POV
Percy hadn't seen Annabeth in what felt like forever, so he was super anxious to see her now. Would she be angry at him for leaving her? It wasn't exactly his fault that he disappeared and lost his memory. But that wasn't like Annabeth. She would most likely be overjoyed to see him after so long. This should've made him happy, but It made him even more nervous than excited.
Reyna stood beside him, her dark hair pulled in a braid down her back. They didn't have time to change into their praetor outfits, because they had to rush all the way from the arena to the entrance of Camp Jupiter. She saw him staring and blushed. He blushed as well, partly because of the fact that she had just kissed him moments before.
This thought made him even more anxious to see Annabeth. He glanced up to see a massive Greek trireme descending towards them. He wondered who had built it. Most likely the Hephaestus kids.
He saw Reyna shift uncomfortably next to him, so he turned to her. "Nervous about seeing Jason?" Percy asked.
Reyna nodded. "And what if the greeks attack us?"
"Trust me. My friends won't attack us. And if they do, I will defend Camp Jupiter with my life."
Reyna smiled weakly. "Are you excited to see... Annabeth?" She asked.
Percy rubbed his neck. "It might be awkward between us, considering the fact that I haven't seen her in months, but... yeah. Yeah, I guess."
Reyna tried for another smile but failed yet again.
Percy touched her shoulder, making her flinch visibly. "Does this all really have to do with Jason and the greeks? Or is there more? You can tell me, Reyna." Percy said softly.
Reyna hesitated. Percy decided to leave the matter alone for now. The flying ship was 3 meters away from the ground now. Percy looked up and saw a glimpse of blonde hair catching the sunlight. He immediately knew who it was. Her grey eyes frantically searched the crowd of roman demigods, no doubt searching for Percy himself.
When the warship was 2 meters off the ground she was nearly in tears. Percy guessed that she hadn't yet seen his face. When she had, Percy instantly knew. Her eyes lit up when she saw him. She quickly climbed down the ladder and dropped to the ground. When they met eyes, Percy ran towards her, as she ran towards him. They embraced when they met, Annabeth's body shaking. They pulled apart and Annabeth's features turned to rage.
"You don't ever leave me like that again, Seaweed Brain or I swear to all the gods-" Her words were cut off by Percy's lips. They embraced again as more demigods exited the floating trireme. Once they had parted, Percy glanced over at Reyna, hurt evident on her face. She quickly hid her hurt and replaced it with an almost warm smile.
"Welcome, greeks, to Camp Jupiter!"
Reyna's POV
Jason obviously had a girlfriend now. An indigenous and pretty one nonetheless. She had choppy brown hair with small braids, and eyes that seemed to change color frequently. The way that the two held hands made it clear that they were in a relationship. She immediately decided to dislike the girl but scolded herself for judging her so quickly just because she was dating Reyna's former co-praetor and crush.
There was one other demigod on the crew and a faun as well. Technically, a satyr in greek, but fauns were fauns nonetheless. The said demigod was short and had a Hispanic appearance. There were several splotches of grease on his face and hands, and he had an impish grin on his face. He also had a tool belt. Yep, definitely a child of Vulcan. Well, Hephaestus in greek form, but same difference.
She looked over once more at the blond girl's arms around Percy. Also, no doubt Annabeth. She felt a twinge of jealousy but then again scolded herself for thinking such things. Just because Percy had kissed her didn't mean that he had moved on from Annabeth. She shook away these thoughts and said, "Let's talk, shall we?"
Yes, there was some cute Percabeth in there, but remember that this is a Preyna story, and Preyna will prevail in this tale! (That rhymed. Hehe.) Who else is excited about the new Percy Jackson book that is going to be released in 2023? I know I am! Again, pleaseee review! Happy author = happy readers. Comment your favorite Riordanverse ship! (Canon or not canon.) Thanks for reading!
