When preparing to play against another team, Sawamura discovers that it's them. The middle school team from his last middle school match, now high schoolers. 'Did they change, I wonder?'
"Ah..." once Sawamura recognizes them.
"Have you played them before, Sawamura?"
"Yeah..." he sweatdrops, "They beat my middle school team at least."
Once they meet with the other team for the 1st time...
"AH!" Several players yell in shock, trembling.
Their upperclassmen are puzzled, "Huh?"
Sawamura smiles, "Long time no see."
Both teams look between Sawamura and them before the upperclassmen, specifically, their Captain gets it.
"Oh! So you're the one they told us about! The guy that slapped all of our kohais."
What?
Sawamura just laughs, "Yeah. I did."
"You mad?" He tilts his head.
The Captain shrugs, "Nah. They deserved it since they ridiculed your former teammates right in front of their faces. If they had just waited until your former team left, you wouldn't have slapped the hell out of them, right?" (Aka "They probably deserved it.")
"Exactly!" Sawamura shouts.
"Did they change any, or am I going to have to slap them all again?"
Their Captain shakes his head, "They've learned by now to respect their opponents."
Sawamura nods, "Good. Because if they didn't, then we'd have a problem."
"Don't worry. We'll make sure that never happens. Right guys?" Smiling, he turns to them, who all nod furiously.
Uh...what? That actually happened?!
After the game, Seido won, and they all apologized to Sawamura for their immature behavior in middle school.
Sawamura smirks, "Well...as long as you don't do that to any other team...I guess I can forgive you."
Their Captain smiles, "Thanks."
During truth or dare, Sawamura is asked about his offensives.
"I got ejected out of my last middle school baseball match after the game was already over because the opposing team ridiculed my teammates...and I wanted them to shut up, so I slapped the hell out of them."
"WHAT?!" Yells the entire room.
"That's actually how I got scouted," Sawamura shrugs.
When asked why he yells before a game...
"Oh that. It's how I deal with pre-game nerves and is a ritual for me. It's simply reassuring to know the fielders have my back...and the one time I didn't do it, I walked batters the whole game, so if I don't I feel like I'm cursed."
No one knew what to say to that.
When asked why he came to Seido...
"... it's Miyuki Kazuya's fault. That's all I'm saying," Sawamura huffs, turning his face to the side.
Miyuki blinks, "...my fault?" It takes a second for him to process before smirking, "Oh... I know."
The room stares holes into Miyuki before the next question is asked.
When asked what's something no one knows about you...
Sawamura just smiles tiredly, "Let's just say: I'm more observant and insecure than you think I am."
Again, no one says anything. Just deep in thought.
Last question: Back-up Plans.
"Probably either Literature or becoming a coach."
Everyone stares.
"WHAT? I like reading, and I would want to help future players."
They shake their heads, "That's so like you."
