Donald shut his eyes and continued to pray when the hooded figure towered above him. Then he felt that he was being pulled up vertically. He opened his eyes in time to find himself floating out of the net and back on the ground. He looked back at the net to see it had a big hole cut in it. Then he saw the hooded figure was holding a pair of scissors. It must have been the one that made that hole and freed him, but why?

"Relax, Donald. I'm not going to hurt you."

"Huh?" Donald didn't know any hooded figure, but this one seemed to know him and he recognized that Brazilian male voice coming from the hood. When the figure finally took the hood and cloak off, he was delighted to see it was who he thought it was – one of his very best friends.

"Jose Carioca!" Donald happily embraced his best green parrot friend.

"O Pato Donald!" Jose cried happily, as he hugged his best duck friend.

"Thanks for saving me, Joe."

"No problem, Donald."

"How did you –"

"What are you doing –"

"Why are you –"

"I want to know –"

Then they both realized that they were all speaking together at once.

"Maybe we should do this someplace else in case more of those sea monsters are still out there and are ready to get us," Jose said. "I highly recommend my place."

"Sounds good to me, Joe," Donald said. He had never been to Jose's place in his entire life, not even when they were in their band The Three Caballeros with their other member Panchito Pistoles, who was currently not here.

"Two quick questions, though, Joe," Donald said, as he followed his friend out of the harbour. "Why are you wearing that hood and cloak? And how long have you been doing it?"

"I can't even tell you that right now, Donald," Jose said. "But when we get to my place, I promise you I will tell everything."

Jose was one of the few people in the world that Donald trusted, so he decided not to ask any more questions as they headed for Jose's place.

"Wow!" Donald cried, after Jose let him into his home. "Your place is so cool, Joe."

"Thank you, Donald."

Jose's place was an apartment. It was a small apartment which only had a small living room, a small kitchen unit, a small bathroom and two small bedrooms. Even all the possessions Jose had were very small, but they were all he needed and they were all of very high quality.

"So, how long have you had this place, Joe?" Donald asked, as he looked around and admired it.

Jose was in the small kitchen unit, making Brazilian tea. "I got it from my rich uncle. He left it to me in his will, as I was his only living relative."

"How well did you get on with him?" Donald asked.

"Much better than my own parents," Jose said. "He was a great guy. When you, Panchito and I were touring as the Three Cabelleroes, he would let me come here and rehearse. In fact, he even liked my music. I'm only sad that he couldn't see us perform when he or we could."

Never mind the biggest fan, it sounded like Jose's uncle was the only fan of the Three Cabelleroes. Donald and Panchito had never met any of Jose's family nor visit the places they lived in. Donald wished he met Jose's uncle while he was alive.

After Jose finished making Brazilian tea and brought Brazilian snacks such as Pao de Queijo, Romeu e Julieta and coxinhas among them to the small wooden table, they finally sat down and began to talk.

Donald started off by explaining to Jose everything, beginning with him and his girlfriend Daisy Duck returning to Duckberg after their lovely, long, well-deserved vacation to being captured by sea monster pirates, learning they are being led by his sister Della's ex-boyfriend Daniel Beakship who was the father of his nephews and he wants to meet them, not to catch up with them but to use them for something that Donald didn't know what it was except that would not be good at all, then Donald and Daisy escaping to Brazil thanks to their new friend Cy-Rat, who was a rat with robot parts, but then the sea monster pirates were looking for them so they could make them tell them where his nephews were so he volunteered to stay behind so Daisy and Cy-Rat could get to Duckberg and to warn his whole family everything about Daniel and his sea monster pirate navy.

"Wow," Jose said. "That must have been some adventure."

"Tell me about it," Donald said. "Now, Joe, tell me about your hood and cloak business."

Since the last time he saw Donald and Panchito, Jose had been busy with his job at the insurance company. But recently he noticed that there have been some strange activities going in Rio De Janeiro and he disguised himself in that hood and cloak so he could investigate. He had been doing it for the last two months, but he found no progress until he found his best friend Donald in trouble and came to rescue him.

"Does Panchito know anything about this?" Donald asked.

"I really don't know, Donald," Jose said. "I haven't seen him for more than a year any more than I've seen you. When was the last time you saw him?"

"No more than you have, Joe," Donald confessed. "Well, now that we've shared everything we know with each other, we can start planning on how to help my family."

"Oh, we will, Donald." Then Jose yawned. "After we get a good night's sleep and be sharper tomorrow."

"Tomorrow?"

"We can't plan probably when we're very tired. Besides, from what I've seen from the few times I've seen her, your girlfriend Daisy seems to be able to take care of herself."

Donald never realized that, but as he got ready for bed, he thought about it and he realized that Jose was right about Daisy.

Despite trusting his friend and not arguing with him and feeling tired himself, Donald was still more worried about his family. The bed in the guest bedroom was soft and comfy, but he still couldn't sleep because he hoped Daisy and Cy-Rat made it to Duckberg safe and sound and they were warning them about Daniel Beakship and his navy of sea monster pirates.
