When Tommy was told by Lady Tamayo to find The Flame Hashira, he would've thought it would be a bit harder than simply finding the guy at a noodle shop, saying the cryptic thing to the guy, then going off to find the Swordsmith Village.
Now, in Tommy's defence, he wasn't used to big guys with hair that looked like fire, or at least, not in the non-literal sense, just existing without anyone pointing it out. He also wasn't used to those people also being nice to him—he half expected the guy to just laugh him off, but instead, he gave him a straight-faced look, told him where to go, and that he'd meet him there.
That part was easy. Finding that stupid village on the other hand? That was ridiculous. He had gone where that Flame Hashira guy said to go, but he couldn't find it. He still had some food leftover from his journeys in the SMP, but by now he was running on low, and all he had was his Diamond axe on him and, like an idiot, he had used it to the point where now it was breaking.
Then again, it had been damaged before he had been thrown into this world, but he digressed.
"Come on! It's a fucking village, where the hell could it possibly be?!" Tommy shouted, anger in his tone as he continued to walk down the trail that supposedly led to the damn place. "I've been doing this for at least two months now! I don't even know if that Flame Hashira or whatever he likes to call himself is even there anymore!" Tommy growled, slashing a tree branch that was in his face out of his way with his axe.
He had been walking in what seemed like circles for months now, and not once did he come close to even finding a singular place that even remotely looked like the Swordsmith village, or any village to be exact. Thankfully he had run into a few generous families along the way, otherwise, he would've been sleeping on the ground in the middle of the forest.
He kinda missed Ranboo. He had no idea where the half and half guy was, but when he did find him, he was going slap him silly. With his axe. Or with his new sword. He didn't quite know.
Speaking of the half enderman half whatever, what was so important about finding Technoblade anyway? Was he here too? Well, obviously he was here if Ranboo said he was, but he had to wonder what was so important about him anyway? Sure, he had been his adopted younger(?) brother, but he sure as hell didn't act like it.
There had to have been a reason as to why Ranboo ran off and left him with Lady Tamayo to find the pig bastard—perhaps he had a way back? Perhaps something else? Ranboo had his memories back, allegedly, so perhaps they had previously known each other? It was a possibility, and that possibility was scary.
Whatever the reason had been, he was still going to slap him with his axe… or new sword, if he ever found the Swordsmith village, that was.
However, the possibility that Technoblade was here also opened up the possibility of Dream being here as well. If Dream was here, well, that gave him more of an incentive to find the damn village so he could put an end to Dream for good.
Once Dream was dead, permanently, Tommy could finally live a normal life without having to constantly look over his shoulder. Whether that fate was self-imposed or not was up for debate, but that didn't matter. If Dream dies, it meant his life could finally begin.
"Having trouble there, young one?" An elderly voice spoke out to him as Tommy snapped his attention to the direction of the voice. It belonged to a man wearing a black haori—which he now knew was what those strange robes these people wore had been called—a white shirt and black baggy pants. He also wore a strange red mask with the mouth pursed as if it were blowing out hot air.
"Uh… yeah?" Tommy said, putting his axe behind his back as it disappeared out of the man's view.
"Hehe, I thought I heard you talking about the Flame Hashira. Let me guess, he sent you to find the Swordsmith village?" The man asked, his hands behind his back as Tommy raised an eyebrow. Finally, he had caught a break for once.
"You know about that place?" Tommy asked as the man laughed.
"But of course! I'm the mayor of the village in question! Kyojuro probably sent you in the opposite direction to test you. I apologize, but the boy is a bit rough around the edges. He does this with all of his future students, so when I heard that he had sent another one of his potential trainees on a wild-goose chase, I knew exactly where to look. Though because of my old bones, I was a bit slow. My bad, young man."
As the man finished his explanation, Tommy balled his hand up into a fist. "That flame bastard…" The blond boy thought before smirking. "Well, can you lead the way?" Tommy asked as the man nodded.
"Sure thing, young man. Just follow me down this path and we will be there momentarily," the Old man said, gesturing to the blond-haired boy to follow suit.
The walk to the village was another few hours of silence, all the while Tommy stewed in anger at the fact that the Flame Hashira would pull such a trick. However, he had to give it to him, the guy was creative if nothing else.
When he got to the border of the town, the old man turned to him and extended his hand out, as if he was asking for something. "I was told that you have some money to buy a swordsmith? I happen to be one, and I also have some spare Nichiren given to me by Kyojuro. However, you still have to go through The Final Selection to be accepted by the Corps. Just thought I'd let you know."
Tommy fished around his pockets for the bag of money. The man inspected it, nodded, then continued to walk. "You can stay in one of the hotels. It will take two weeks for the blade to be forged, so hang around here for a bit, get to know the locals or sleep, it's truly up to you. It'll be all free of charge so long as you tell them you're with the Demon Slayers," and with that, the mayor left Tommy all by himself.
The old man was nice, he quite liked how polite he had been. In all of his life experience, which was roughly about 20 years, he had never met someone so polite—even Lady Tamayo had her moments of glaring at him for some unknown reason, but that was to be expected, women were confusing.
However, that didn't mean that Tommy was all too fond of being left alone with no idea where the hotels were or who any of these people were. The only people he knew were Ranboo, Tamayo, and Yushiro, the latter of which he was sure hated his guts.
"Damnit…" Tommy cursed before letting out a small sigh.
"Well, here I thought you got eaten on your way here!" Tommy immediately recognized the voice and snapped around to be greeted with a jovial Kyojuro. "Honestly, I'm glad you made it! I've been meaning to train up someone to be my successor in case of a dire scenario!" the orange and red-haired man continued, crossing his arms. "Although, it is a bit disappointing that you couldn't find your way here on your own, but that is something we'll just have to work on, now isn't it?"
Tommy was… well he was livid, but the man seemed to have no ill-intent behind his words, and so for that, all Tommy did was groan. "You're a real piece of work, you know that? Whatever, I don't care. I'm just glad I got here in one piece, no thanks to you," Tommy snarked, turning around. "But! I'll let bygones be bygones," Tommy said, smirking. "If it means you'll help get back at that asshole who ruined my life, then I'll be complacent," Tommy said, turning to enter the village.
"By that… does he mean he's encountered Muzan? Or perhaps he's talking about someone else who works under him." "I see, well then, how strong are you physically?" Rengoku asked as Tommy stopped, turning around.
"My… physical strength? I mean, I'm not that strong, but I could probably get stronger over time with the right equipment. I USED to be strong, but then… well, I don't trust you enough to tell you my story, not yet," Tommy said, looking away.
Kyojuro stood there, humming to himself in thought. What was the boy willing to tell him then? He needed to know at least something before he accepted him as his full-time student. "How good are you with a sword? Could you cut off the head of a Demon with ease, or would you struggle?" Kyojuro asked as Tommy turned around again to face the man.
"Depends on how durable the neck is and how strong the sword is. If I don't have that information, I couldn't tell you mate," Tommy replied, an annoyed frown on his face. The boy was right, so with that in mind.
"Well, the weakest of Demons usually have slightly heightened durability around the neck area, I'd say that if a human were to wear a piece of leather protection around their neck, that would be the same durability as a weaker Demon neck. Of course, the stronger the Demon the more durable the neck, but that doesn't matter for this hypothetical scenario. As for the sword… well, it would be as a regular katana made of Nichiren, one of the strongest metals known to man."
When Kyojuro finished speaking, Tommy cupped his chin with his right hand. "So, it's this world's version of Netherite then? That's pretty strong…" "Okay then, well, I'd have to say that Demon's head would be on the floor within a matter of seconds. With a sword that strong, I could cut a cow in half with one swing, and with minimal resistance. Does that answer your question then?" Tommy replied, his tone boastful.
In response, Kyojuro raised an eyebrow and placed a hand on his hip. "Well, I'd have to see it to believe it. Tell you what, when you get your sword finished, I want to see you cut the head off of a Demon before I begin your training. I will not be assisting you in any way, but I will be watching. If you can do what you say you can do, I will teach you Flame Breathing. Deal?" Kyojuro asked as Tommy smirked.
"Oh, mate, you don't want to make a deal with me, cause I'll keep to it, and I'll do so to the bitter end," Tommy said, his smirk widening with every word. All Kyojuro could do was laugh.
"I like that bravado of yours, kid! Then that settles it, a deals a deal. Meet back here once you get your blade, I'll be waiting."
And with that, Kyojuro walked into the village, leaving Tommy by himself once again. The blond frowned, seeing as he had no idea where the hotels were. He'd just have to find out then, wouldn't he?
[Linebreak]
Ranboo sat alone within an abandoned house on the edge of a forest. It was cozy, and the snow around the place matched his white side. A couple of rodents came around him for warmth, and he obliged their request by putting them in his suit. He had made a small, rudimentary fire to keep warm, and he was munching on a cow steak that he had in his inventory, occasionally sharing with the rodents in his pockets.
The peaceful sounds of nature allowed him to focus, to clear his mind, all so he could keep his mind on finding Technoblade. But before that, before he went on a wild goose chase, he needed to rest for the night.
Despite being the Prince of the Ender, he needed to rest as well. Not every person could just stay up all night every night with no rest in sight. He had gotten too used to sleeping, something his father would have frowned upon—but then again even that old coot napped occasionally, so he was a hypocrite in that regard.
Finding Technoblade and warning him about the future was his main priority. He wasn't going to walk away and continue his rule of the End without at least telling him what was to come, well that was if he even could tell him what was to come.
Or perhaps Technoblade already knew about this? No, he would have had no way to know in the first place. If the Demon King succeeded in his mission….
"No, I have to tell Technoblade. If the Demon King—The TRUE Demon King were to awaken, then everything we've all worked for will be destroyed…." Ranboo muttered, cutting off a piece of his steak and giving it to one of the rodents.
The Demon King was a terrifying force of nature. Whenever one of his vessels acquired what they were told to acquire—in this case Muzan and the Blue Spider lily—then it would allow for the Demon King to take his place and swap places with his vessel.
If the Demon King were to find his way out of purgatory, then everything—humanity, reality, Earth, all of it—would be destroyed, and there was nothing anyone could do to stop it. Muzan HAD to be killed, he HAD to be destroyed, and he HAD to fail his goal.
He just hoped that Muzan hadn't gotten to Technoblade yet.
Ranboo placed the steak on the floor near the fire. The rodents jumped out of his pockets to finish off the food that the half enderman placed, all the while the prince curled up into a ball and closed his eyes.
He needed to sleep. If he didn't, then he might risk the chance of Ender Walking, which was something that he didn't want to experience, especially if an innocent person were to walk up on him in the middle of doing so.
When an Enderman was in the middle of an Ender Walk, then anyone or anything that got near it had the risk of being destroyed via sharp claws and teeth. Endermen weren't so different from Demons in that sense, but unlike Demons, Endermen could survive in the sun, and Enderman's blood was poisonous to Demons.
But outside of those small, inconsequential differences, they were practically the same. They both ate Humans, though one required it more than the other, and they both worked alone, well, for the most part. Ranboo was a special case, opting to work with others despite the setbacks, however, it did prove useful.
Then he started time travelling… that was his biggest mistake, and it was one of the reasons why he got his amnesia in the first place. He vowed to NEVER time travel again, not after THAT nonsense.
"No more thinking, it's time to get some rest, then we'll get back to finding Technoblade… I have to warn him… I have to…"
-To Be Continued-
Okay, I'm sorry about the short chapter, I know it's not what you all are expecting, but I need to move forward with the story, and Ranboo, as much as I love him, won't be doing much until he's joined up with someone else. Honestly, without his amnesia, he's not much of a character, especially when he's by himself. However, we do get some more interesting lore about The Demon King—Muzan ain't got shit on his forefather.
Also, that bit with Tommy, yes I know he's not that gullible (debatable) but you have to admit, that 2-month time skip would be unfair for me to actually try and write around. Plus, The Swordsmith village is hidden for a reason, so there, that's the reason why it took Tommy so long.
Also, I've decided that issuing some VA's to these two new characters is integral, I mean, it's become a tradition at this point.
So, for Ranboo, it was a little bit hard to figure out one for him, but I think I found one that works! So, for our half and half boy, I've decided that Yuichi Nakamura, the voice behind Gray Fullbuster from Fairy Tale, Bruno Bucciarati From Jojo's Bizarre Adventures, Gojo Satoru from Jujitsu Kaisan, and Hawks from My Hero Academia, would fit him! Though, his performance would be more like Gojo and less like Bruno in my opinion.
Again, this is just how I hear him when I write him, you don't have to, but that's just my opinion.
As for Tommy, well, there's only one person I could think of for him, and that's Kazuhiko Inoue, aka, the voice of Ninzaboro Shiratori from Detective Conan, Kakashi from Naruto, and Kars from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.
Now why him in particular? Well, simply put, what I have planned for Tommy is… well, no, that would be spoilers :)
Until next time, peace!
