One second, Miyuki and Sawamura were on a date. The next second, they suddenly disappeared somewhere.
In this space, they see…themselves? An older version of themselves?
"HUH?!" Both Sawamura yell as both Miyuki blink in shock.
"Well…I'm guessing you're our future selves?" Miyuki guesses.
"Seems that way…" the older Miyuki muses.
"Won't we cause a time paradox or something?" Sawamura asks.
"Seeing as we're still here…probably not," the older Sawamura smiles assuringly.
"…"
"Since we're here, might as well make the most of it," the older Sawamura shrugs, "Besides, this is a rare opportunity to embarrass Miyuki Kazuya!"
"Your personality sure has gotten twisted, huh?" the older Miyuki teases.
"Whose fault do you think that is?!" the older Sawamura retorts.
"My fault~," the older Miyuki grins before wrapping an arm around his pitcher, "So I'll take responsibility."
"As for names…well, just call me Eijun, OK?" the older Sawamura smiles before pointing to his partner, "And just call him Kazu."
"Ya know~ you could always call me Kazuya."
"No," Eijun shakes his head, "That's what that white-headed idiot calls you. I won't stoop that low."
"... white-headed… Did he just call Mei a white-headed idiot?" Miyuki asks.
"He did," smiles mischievously Sawamura, "I shall call Narumiya that the next time I see him!"
"Count me in too," Miyuki smiles mischievously too, "His reaction will be hilarious!"
Kazu rolls his eyes, "…fine," as Eijun's just amused by all this.
Then…
Just one look at Eijun and Kazu knew, his eyes narrowed, "...you stole my clothes again, didn't you?"
"...Maybe~," Eijun replies until the silence is too much for him, "I can't help it! It smells like baseball and you!"
Kazu puts a hand to his face, sighing, "...are you a dog?"
"I'M NOT A DOG!"
"Then~ a cat?" Kazu teases.
"NOT THAT EITHER, TANUKI!" Eijun yells, all cat-eyed and bristling.
"Oh, really~? You admitted to following me to Tokyo though~," Kazu smirks, "You weird stalker."
"It's just you though! Doesn't that count for something?!" Eijun's cat eyes reply.
"...no," he grins.
"!" Eijun growls, which gets Kazu to laugh, "Hahaha!"
"Let's see~ What else do I have to deal with?~" Kazu hums and teases, "Oh yeah! You obsessively flirting with me."
"You're kidding...right?" Miyuki sweat-drops.
"No-pe!" he pops the p, "I wish I was!" Kazu shakes his head, "But at least he makes me laugh."
"You two are on a date now, right?" Eijun asks.
"Yeah," Sawamura replies.
"Well, here's some advice. Never watch a romance movie with this tanuki bastard," Eijun advises as he glares at his partner, "He'll just laugh at it!"
Kazu laughs, "Sorry, sorry! But things like that happening in real life is just so ridiculous, I had to laugh!"
"Blasphemy!"
"…I'll keep that in mind," Sawamura sweat-drops.
"Oh right... Kazu sucks at technology, so help him with that if you can," Eijiun informs.
"I don't suck at it!" Kazu and Miyuki deny it even though it's true.
"Not completely, but still..." Eijun sighs, "You did end up on the other side of Nagano when I sent you to get groceries."
"That was ONE TIME! It's not my fault all the fields look the same to me!" Kazu argues.
Sawamura sighs, "Then, it's better to put a GPS on him, just in case."
Kazu and Miyuki sigh, knowing that he's lost that argument.
"By the way, did we…end up on the same team?" Sawamura timidly asks.
"No, we didn't," Kazu shakes his head, "But we did end up on the national team together."
Sawamura and Miyuki's eyes light up in excitement.
"Still… It doesn't matter if you catch for other pitchers...you're still mine," Eijun comments.
"What are you guys doing before…this then?" Miyuki asks.
"Aren't you pro players?" Sawamura also asks.
"That's Coach Miyuki to you," Kazu smirks, "Isn't that right, Coach Sawamura?"
"Coach?!" Sawamura and Miyuki yell in shock.
"Yup," Eijun smirks, "Life happened, so we're both coaches now."
"Are we better than Coach Kadoka?" Miyuki asks.
They glare at the thought of their old coach.
"Better than him."
"Definitely better than him."
"Eijun has the heart and cares a lot about his kids. I should know…" Kazu smirks.
"And Kazu has the logic, and skills to bring out their best. I really appreciate it. Even if I almost lost my job to him…" Eijun grumbles.
"Almost being the key word here."
"Besides there's… Coach Kominato..." Eijun mutters.
"Kominato...?" Sawamura and Miyuki tilt their heads to the side curiously.
"Ryosuke," Kazu answers.
"!" they all shiver in fright.
"That's...terrifying..." Miyuki mutters as Sawamura clutches his arm in fright.
"Speaking of terrifying… Don't get Miyuki Kazuya actually angry… he's scary," Eijun warns.
His other self can't help but agree.
"I'm not that scary…" Kazu sweat-drops.
Eijun yells, "You are! I heard you scared a smart-ass pitcher into obedience in college!"
'He did?'
"Well~ Let's just say that no one dares to get on my bad side since…" Kazu smirks, "Besides, I've seen you when you're actually angry. You're pretty scary too… especially when you feel the need to protect me."
"Like a guard dog?" Miyuki raises an eyebrow as he can easily imagine that.
"Yup," he pops the p.
"I want to keep you safe. Is that so wrong?" Eijun pouts.
"Not really…but I'm a grown man. I can protect myself, thank you."
"I get it but… You deserve to be protected sometimes too."
Kazu blushes, not able to say anything.
Eijun grins at that reaction as he pecks Kazu's cheek.
"I told you he was mine."
"Speaking of, I remember you squatting in front of my apartment, waiting for me to come home like a dog."
"You're kidding..."
"I wish I was," Kazu sighs.
"Are we really OK?" Miyuki sweat-drops.
"Nah. We drive each other crazy," Eijun and Kazu shrug before smiling, "But we love each other anyway."
"Miyuki Kazuya's the type of person to push you out of the way of a moving bus and take the hit instead of yelling for you to get out of the way. That's just how he is," Eijun smiles.
"And you're the type that would kill yourself to save everyone else. That's just how you are," Kazu smiles back.
Both Sawamura and Miyuki sweat-drop, but understand.
"Still, Kazu… If you say that you're holding me back, distracting me, or getting in the way of my career and future again, I will slap you," Eijun growls.
"...yes dear," Kazu replies meekly, an uneasy smile on his face.
"I know you're just worried about me, but people are nicer and more accepting than you think," Eijun sighs, "Sure, they'll be into it, but by the time the next topic comes out, they'll have gotten bored and moved on. So, there's no use worrying about it."
"Easy for you to say…" Kazu mutters.
Eijun puts an arm around him, "We'll get through it together, partner."
Kazu sighs and nuzzles, "…alright. You win."
Miyuki and Sawamura smile at each other, holding hands.
Then, a flash breaks through the space.
"Seems like our time's almost up…" Kazu sighs.
"OK then! Last words of advice!" Eijun enthusiastically declares, "Miyuki Kazuya's a baseball idiot and a lame dork."
"Oi!"
"But he's my lame dork!" Eijun mumbles, "And I'm not any better, so…"
"Hai hai. We're both lame idiots," Kazu rolls his eyes before moving on.
Eijun turns to Kazu, "I know it won't be easy but... I want to both pitch to you again and strike you out at least once!"
"Good luck with that~!" Miyuki and Kazu grin at the challenge.
Sawamura's and Eijun's eyes blaze, "Bring it on, tanuki!"
Doors appear, leading both couples back to where they belong. However, Miyuki and Sawamura overhear something they probably shouldn't have.
"By the way, what do you want to do once we're home?" Kazu asks.
"I was planning to just seduce you when we get home," Eijun bluntly and sweetly answers.
Kazu blushes, "You emotional terrorist."
Eijun giggles.
Once the doors close, their lives went back to normal.
