Hiya, everyone. DeathlyJazzHands55 here.
So, as you all know (and if you don't, well, I'm sorry you have to find out this way), one hour ago, as of writing this, Technoblade, real name Alex, has tragically passed away from Stage Four Cancer. This is not a joke, not some sort of sick prank where I go "HAHA SURPRISE! I LIED!" at the end.
No, he's dead. For real. And as such, I feel as if it is important that I acknowledge it, seeing as I am using his likeness in this story.
I don't have much really to say about Technoblade. All I can really say is that I've been watching his content since the First Great Potato War. I followed his content from that point forth, watched all of his Dream SMP stuff, and watched his final upload: The Minecraft VR experience, as well as his "So Long Nerds" video, uploaded by his father.
His death has no doubt impacted a lot of people, me included. He's the main reason why I kept my sanity during the pandemic, among other things. While I never knew him personally, I don't think that quite matters. He was a friend to us all, as fans, and I think we should respect that. Respect his memory.
Now, what does that mean for this story? Because I know a few of you are going to ask that.
Well, to put it simply, it won't.
Just because Technoblade died in real life does not mean I plan to cease production of this story. I have already planned out a bunch of stuff beforehand, and I don't plan to stop. However, out of respect for what happened, I won't update this for at least two weeks. I don't feel right doing that, especially when the wound of his death is still fresh.
Hell, two weeks might even be too early, but at the same time, I can't cling on to his death for too long. Do I plan to kill off the character because he has died in real life? No. No, I don't. Stories are meant to escape reality. I'm not going to kill him unless the story demands that.
That being said. I think that's all there is to say. I'll see you all on July 16th, I hope.
