Disclaimer: I own nothing...trust me on this, all credit goes to Joss Whedonfor character creation etc the story is mine...and I do hesitate to use the word "story" in this case, but it's still mine. :)
Pairing: Established Inara/Kaylee so y'know...Femslash warning for those of you who just can't cope with the idea.
Plot: snort don't make me laugh. Just a fluffy interlude, set whenever you see fit...might make it into something approaching a story at some point, but for the time being this is it. Pretty much my first published Firefly ficlet...I tend to dip in and out of a mulitude of fandoms.
Have I missed anything?
Ooh: Feedback is appreciated and constructive criticism is well recieved and encouraged. Oh and it can get put whereever folk take a fancy to putting it, should the urge ever arise...letting me know would be nice though. :)
No title though as yet
Kaylee sat in one of the decrepit armchairs in the simulated light of late night aboard Serenity, a tin cup full of tea was cradled lazily in the hand hanging precariously over the arm of the chair as her booted feet, firmly planted on the plated deck of the ship, twisted the chair around from side to side in a repetitive motion, a small grin quirked her lips as she sat contentedly, satisfied with her lot. The rest of the crew had long since gone to bed, leaving Kaylee still wide-awake alone with her thoughts. She smiled to herself as she took a sip of her tea, revelling in the sweet warmth as it slid down her throat.
Inara stepped through the doorway into the central living area and glanced around for the elusive young mechanic, smiling widely as she spotted her in the far corner, she moved gracefully over to where Kaylee was evidently quite happily amusing herself. Coming to a stop someway in front of her she spoke softly so as not to startle the younger woman "There you are Bao bei, I've been looking all over for you, are you coming to bed?" having gained her attention, a soft smile playing across her face she stepped closer, finally coming to a stop between Kaylee's knees.
Kaylee looked up at her and grinned mischievously before leaning forward and tugging the shocked Inara unceremoniously into her lap who muttered a rather undignified squawk as she did so before giggling at her lover's antics "Is that a no then?" she asked as Kaylee proffered her teacup to Inara's lips inviting her to take a sip, having miraculously managed to spill none in her actions.
Knowing that the rest of the crew were all asleep in their bunks, Inara settled happily into her lovers comfortable embrace, tucking stray sandy hair behind Kaylee's ear with gentle fingertips before speaking again "Seriously" she asked though she still wore her beatific smile "Are you coming to bed anytime soon?" she queried.
In reply the young mechanic gulped down the rest of her tea and put the cup down on the table with a responding clang of metal on metal "How 'bout now?" she asked her arms snaking around the companions waist and quirking her eyebrow, tensing her thighs as if to stand still cradling Inara. Inara stood before she had a chance to make her move, holding out a hand for her companion, to pull her up out of the chair and into her arms briefly before they left the room for Inara's shuttle, shoulders and hips lightly brushing each other as they walked along the deck plates through the ship.
