Summary: Ryo and Rika watch the sunset together. Ryuki one-shot

Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon. Would you believe me if I said I did? . . . didn't think so.

Almost Perfect

She sat there quietly at the edge of the cliff, letting it all in.

The crisp air, the beautiful scenery of the forest and that of the sea, the sun, which was beginning to set. It was just like one of those photographs you see on postcards that show just how beautiful the world is.

It was almost perfect.

Almost.

"What do you want, Akiyama?", Rika asked, not bothering to turn around to see if she guessed correctly.

She already knew she did.

"Aren't you afraid of falling?" Ryo asked, grinning his trade-mark grin. The grin that drove all of the girls crazy. All but one. That 'one' who was the only one that truly mattered to him.

"I'm even more afraid of seeing your face." she lied.

"Ouch.", he said, pretending to be hurt, "After I saw you climb up the mountain path and followed just to make sure you were alright, this is the thanks I get?"

She's going to say yes

She pondered a bit. "Pretty much."

"I'll take it then." he said, laughing at how predictable she was.

Or maybe he just knew her way too much.

She liked hearing his laugh. It sounds refreshing to her. She would have smiled, but then, she thought, it was against her nature.

There was silence after the laughter died out, until he broke it again.

"Okay, okay. I can take a hint. I'll leave you alone." He said, as he walked back. Was that a hint of sadness in his voice?

He's leaving.

"Wait!", she shouted, even before she could stop herself.

He turned back. "Yes, pumpkin?"

She cringed at the nickname. It was too late to turn back now. Or at least, that was the excuse she gave herself. "Stay", she mumbled.

His eyes widened in surprise, then softened after a while. He smiled at her though he knew she couldn't see it. It was surprising, even to himself, how much he actually loved her.

"N-not that I care, of course.", she stuttered, hating the fact that she was blushing "But.. I mean...you should do it…for... Nature." She mentally smacked herself, thinking how lame that sounded.

"For nature, huh?", he said teasingly as he made his way next to her.

"Yeah..." she trailed, not sure what to say.

He sat next to her. "I guess I could do it... for nature." He looked over at her and smiled.

She quickly looked away, but after a while, looked back at the setting sun.

"It's beautiful", she said quietly, but loud enough for Ryo to hear it.

"It really is", he agreed, looking over to her again.

She looked at him as well.

If it's him...

She smiled.

... I think it'll be okay.

His smile grew wider.

Only for him.

They both looked back at the sun, which was now close to being covered by the mountains.

Now, it's perfect.

Authors Note: gah. This is so cliché. But then again, I searched "sunset" in the Digimon section and couldn't find one for Ryuki so I decided to make one! And also, I really couldn't think of a title, so I just named it "almost perfect". ; I hope that's okay…

Thank you loads for reading it and I really hope you like it! Reviews are VERY much appreciated. )
