Bets

She shivered, eminently cold from the strong air-conditioned building. Strong arms enveloped her small frame, she pushed them away angrily, she was too disappointed, too upset.

He looked at her hurt, "I'm sorry, Hermione. I swear I won't do it again."

She glared at him as she hissed back, "Wanna bet?"

Draco sighed, "I-" He broke off, not quite trusting himself.

"-Couldn't resist," Hermione said, mockingly.

Draco's eyes rose from looking at the ground, he caught her eye, "It wasn't my fault, Hermione."

Hermione narrowed her eyes, "Oh no! It always isn't your fault is it?"

Draco thought furiously on what to say, "Come on! It wasn't like there was anything dangerous inside the room! It was empty, Hermione! Empty!"

Hermione opened her mouth angrily, "You could have been killed! You never knew what was inside the room, you completely went against a direct order and wanted to play Hero!"

"In the end someone would have had to have gone inside! If it wasn't you it obviously was me! God, Hermione, just be thankful that no one was killed, will you?"

Hermione resisted the urge to strangle him, he who was not getting her point. "We could have cast a charm on the door Draco! We could have used a simple charm to see what was inside!"

Draco laughed, "Don't you think that by making the door invisible, whatever was inside could see us as well?"

"We could have apparated away if it was dangerous!" Hermione exclaimed.

Draco raised an eyebrow, "The place had a charm to stop apparating Hermione. Or did you forget that we got in through the tunnels?"

Hermione opened her mouth furiously, thinking of a good comeback before realizing that she had nothing to say.

She closed a mouth with a scoff and turned away from him, walking in fast strides towards the door to get out of the office building.

Draco called out after her, "Hermione."

Growling, she turned around and said with much impatience, "What?"

Draco smirked, "Forget something?"

Hermione groaned and realised that she had left her wand with him during the mission. She walked back to him, her arm outstretched to receive her wand.

Instead of placing her wand on her hand, he pulled her towards him and his lips captured her mouth in a passionate kiss.

Her eyes opened wide and she struggled against him for awhile before giving in and kissing him back hungrily.

Finally they broke off, breathing heavily. Draco leaned close to her and whispered into her ear, "I promise, Hermione. I won't do it again if it scares you so much."

Hermione smirked, "Wanna bet?"

Heys, just thought I'd post this before I call it a day. Please R and R?

For those who read Birthday Surprise and didn't get the last part, I meant that Hermione did love Draco back. That was her secret. Thanks for all of your reviews! They were gratefully appreciated. )

Lots and Lots of Love,
