Ryan softly smiles at Marissa. His smiles lies, deceiving her elegant sorrow. He leans in, offering her comfort in his kiss. Only doing what he could to tear, tear away such pain.
She deepens the kiss, his comfort kiss, as he knew she would. No, no, I don't want you, his heart protests.
"So, Ryan, are you ready-"
A voice, clear, breaks the quiet silence formed between the young pair. Ryan looks up, happy to be distracted from Marissa.
He finds wide brown eyes, endearing, and an open mouth gaping for words like fish groping for oxygen. Ryan's heart does a flip. He licks his lips and wonders for a moment what Seth's lips would taste like if he took advantage of those kissable lips and open mouth. Like sugar.
For a moment no one speaks. Not until Marissa's brittle hair licks Ryan's face. He looks away from Seth.
Stay, stay, stay, stay, stay
"S-sssorry," Seth stutters at first before regaining his vocal ability,"Never-mind me. Let's completely forget that this happen and---"
Seth continues to speak as he walks away and his voice slowly dissipates from Ryan's pool house. He strains his ear for the last notes, vibrations of Seth's voice. He knows he is wrong to think, to want his so-called brother. Especially when he had the beautiful Marissa, a queen.
But he can't help his longing. The soulful curly hair. The endearing eyes. The constant chatter.
Seth befriended him when no one would. Loyal. Seth was loyal and there was no one like him. No, Ryan knew many people, seen their true natures, their sly lies. He knew Seth. Honest, he knew Seth as honest, unlike his relationship with Marissa, unlike Trey, unlike his childhood memories, so unlike himself.
Ryan wants a lick of honesty for once.
Comfort or not.
