Born to fade back into darkness,

Fragmented pieces of a lost heart

Pulled and shifted asunder.

Shunned by light and shadows,

We don't have anyplace to go.

As I drift beyond the chain of memory

That links the mind, body, and soul,

Your words are whispered from within:

We will meet again--

You may not know it's me,

And I may not know it's you.

I am no longer who I was before

But with this hand, I keep reaching

In hopes I'll find my way to you.

We were both destined to nothing;

You and I of the same forgettable breed:

Heartless and mindless, we wander

Empty shells that were abandoned.

And yet…

We pray for our sorrows to end,

And hope that our hearts will blend.

Now I will step forward to realize this wish.

If I am mindless, why can't I forget you?

If I am heartless, why do I love you?

We are still connected to ourselves;

Past the veil of light together,

You and I have always been one.

I'm not afraid to step into darkness--

I know I will live again, in the next life.

And I'll come back to you: I promise.
