Episode 3: Starstruck
It was another beautiful day in the Pokémon World, and Frank and Ned were chilling in their home in front of the tv, watching the first Friday the 13th movie on it. A big bowl of popcorn was seated in between the two boys as they were eating from it.
"Man, this movie is both scary and brutal at the same time." Frank remarked as he munched on some popcorn.
"Well, what do you expect? It's an R-rated slasher movie. Of course it's gonna be scary and brutal." Ned pointed out as he also munched on some popcorn.
"Good point, and well made." Frank nodded as him and Ned continued watching the movie. Suddenly, the tv began blaring again as PNN, the Pokémon News Network began playing another breaking news broadcast. Walt Frogadier, Sarah Espeon and Richard Mareep once again appeared on screen.
"Good afternoon and sorry to interrupt your regular programming schedule. I'm Sarah Espeon, that's my co-anchor Walt Frogadier, and that's our useless co-anchor who's always sleeping, Richard Mareep." Sarah began to speak.
"Yes. Again, sorry to interrupt your regular programming schedule, but we have very important news. The famous pop idol, Justin Bidoof will be paying a visit to Pelipper City for three concerts in the Pelipper Pop Temple scheduled for the next three days. This young Pokémon has great looks and a great voice, and is popular amongst many teenage Pokémon girls as a result." Walt began to explain.
"Oh, I just can't wait to see Justin Bidoof in concert! I've been a fan of his since his very first song! As you can see, I'm just all ready! I got my Justin Bidoof t-shirt on, I got my ticket for the concert, I've got just about anything I need for the concert!" Sarah chimed in excitedly as she gestured to the Justin Bidoof t-shirt she was wearing.
Walt chuckled at that. "Well, have fun with that, Sarah. Anyway, we're going to be switching live to our reporter, Mitchell Grotle, who is at the hotel where Justin Bidoof will be staying at for the next three days. A lot of teenage Pokémon girls have gathered there, and we're going to be hearing from Mitchell just how crazy the chaos out there is." The handsome Frogadier news anchor continued before the scene cut to reporter Mitchell Grotle at the scene of the hotel where Justin Bidoof was staying at.
"Hello, Walt. Hello, Sarah. Mitchell here at the scene of the hotel where the famous pop idol, Justin Bidoof will be hanging his hat for the next three days. As you can see, a lot of squealing teenage Pokémon girls are just dying to get a glimpse of their favorite singer, and it should be only a matter of time before Justin will be showing his face to his army of fans. In fact, I think he's about to show his face just now. Let's take a look." Mitchell Grotle spoke before he turned to the balcony of the highest floor of the hotel, and Justin Bidoof stepped out of his hotel room and walked onto the balcony, raising his arms as his fans began screaming like crazy, causing Mitchell to cringe a bit as a result.
Justin Bidoof looked just like a regular Bidoof, except that he had long blond hair and wore a black leather jacket. "Hello, Pelipper City!" Justin bellowed from the balcony down to his fans below as they screamed even louder, causing Mitchell to cringe even more in response. "I hope you're all ready for some wonderful concerts in the next three days, because I can promise you: They're gonna be lit!" Justin announced as his fans once again screamed loudly, and Mitchell whispered to his cameraman to pass him a pair of ear plugs, which his cameraman did and Mitchell quickly put them in.
"Well, I hope to see you this afternoon at the Mightyena Mall, where I'll be holding an autograph signing session for you all! See you there!" Justin announced as his fans once again screamed loudly before the Bidoof proceeded to retreat back into his hotel room.
Mitchell then proceeded to turn back to the camera. "Well, there you have it! Justin will be holding an autograph signing session at the Mightyena Mall this afternoon for anyone willing to get their hands on his autograph! Be there, or be square! Back to you, Walt and Sarah!" Mitchell told the camera before the scene cut back to the studio.
"Oh, you bet your boots that I'll be coming to that autograph signing session this afternoon! I gotta get ready for it right now, so can you please wrap this up, Walt?" Sarah asked her co-anchor as she began to leave the studio.
"With pleasure, Sarah." Walt chuckled before turning back to the camera. "Anyway, this has been our breaking news broadcast. We'll have more on the story of Justin Bidoof's stay in Pelipper City as it develops. Coming up: The race for becoming the next governor of the Grass Province reaches a boiling point as the two candidates, Merrick Poliwhirl and Esther Sunflora are due to have a heated debate as Election Day draws closer and closer. Both candidates are very opinionated and very critical of each other, and both candidates have had heated debates before. Jackson Donphan, a notorious criminal who is currently held at the Magnezone Maximum Security Prison on accounts of every crime known to Pokémonkind is trying to appeal to the life sentence he received about a month ago, but his previous appeals have been rejected since Jackson Donphan is considered a danger to society and will likely never be released for his crimes. And a dangerous Persian has escaped from the Pelipper City Zoo and into the wild. Be careful when exploring the rural Grass Province, because this Persian is not a cute kitty. It's a dangerous predator. I'm Walt Frogadier, and this has been PNN News." Walt wrapped up the broadcast as the news broadcast ended.
"Oh, boy. Justin Bidoof is in Pelipper City? Minnie's a huge fan of his, so I can't imagine what must be going through her right now." Frank sheepishly laughed.
"Well, let's head out and see if we can attend that autograph signing session this afternoon. I'm sure that Minnie would really appreciate it if you took her there." Ned told him.
"Yeah, I bet she would. Let's head out." Frank agreed as he turned off the tv and him and Ned proceeded to go outside. As soon as they stepped out the door, they saw Minnie running up to them.
"Guys! Guys! Guys! Did you see the news?! Did you see it?!" Minnie asked the boys in an excited voice.
"Yes, we did, Minnie. We were just about to head out to that autograph signing session at the Mightyena Mall in Pelipper City." Frank told her.
"Hell yeah! I'm tagging along with you boys! No one's a bigger fan of Justin Bidoof than I am! I have all of his albums, all of his merchandise, and I even have a special altar dedicated to him in my room back home! If I can get his autograph as well, I'd be in heaven!" Minnie cheered as Frank and Ned sweatdropped.
"Well, let's head out to Pelipper City then. Don't wanna run late to the session." Ned suggested.
"Yeah, let's go." Frank agreed as the trio began to head on over to Pelipper City, where Justin Bidoof was gonna give an autograph signing session at the Mightyena Mall. Later that afternoon, Frank, Ned and Minnie were in line to get Justin's autograph. Justin's manager, a Tyrogue wearing a black suit with a white dress shirt and a black tie along with a black fedora and black Feraligatr shoes was standing next to a table.
"Ladies and gentlemen, but mostly ladies, here's the star you've been waiting for: Justin Bidoof!" Walter Tyrogue, Justin's manager announced as Justin Bidoof came out of a nearby store as the fans began to cheer. Justin smiled and waved to his fans and sat down at the table.
"Wow, I gotta admit: Justin's shorter in real life than he is on tv. Eh, it doesn't matter." Frank remarked as he rubbed the back of his head.
"Damn right it don't matter! I finally get to see my hero, Justin Bidoof in real life and even get his autograph!" Minnie squealed happily as Frank and Ned chuckled.
Justin put his autograph on a piece of paper for a female Ralts. "This one's for you, 'cause you're the prettiest." Justin told the Ralts girl as he handed her his autograph.
The Ralts girl squealed. "Thanks, Justin!" She beamed before leaving the line, and a Purrloin girl walked up to the table before Justin put his autograph in her book.
"This one's for you, 'cause you're special to me." Justin told the Purrloin girl.
"Oh, you're amazing, Justin!" The Purrloin girl beamed before leaving the line, and Minnie walked up to the table next as Justin put down his autograph on her Justin Bidoof poster.
"This one's for you, 'cause you're a very special fan." Justin told Minnie, whose heart was bouncing out of her chest by this point.
"Oh...my...Lord!" Minnie gushed before fainting into Frank's arms as Frank chuckled awkwardly.
"Hey there, boys. Care for an autograph too?" Justin asked Frank and Ned with a smile.
"Sure, why not?" Frank shrugged.
"Yeah. I mean, it'll give me a good chance to brag to my little sisters that I got Justin's autograph and they don't." Ned chuckled as Justin also chuckled and put his autograph down for Frank and Ned, handing it to them.
"Enjoy, boys. Hopefully I'll see you and your girlfriend at one of my concerts in one of the next few days. It's gonna be lit." Justin smiled as Frank and Ned left the line together with the unconscious Minnie.
The scene then cut to Frank, Ned and Minnie back at Frank and Ned's house, and Minnie couldn't stop smiling. "Can you believe that I got to meet Justin Bidoof and got his autograph?! My life is complete now!" Minnie squealed happily as she hugged her Justin Bidoof poster that Justin had signed.
"If you think that's cool, take a look at what Justin's manager gave to me while we were on our way out of the mall." Frank smiled as he held up three concert tickets. "Three tickets for you, me and Ned to head to Justin's first concert tomorrow night." He told Minnie.
Minnie gasped happily and tackle hugged Frank to the ground. "Ohmigosh, Frank! You're amazing!" She beamed happily.
Frank chuckled at that. "Anytime, Minnie. Since I always appreciate the things you do for me, it's only fair that I return you the favor." He smiled at his girlfriend.
Ned chuckled as well. "Getting Justin Bidoof's autograph and attending one of his concerts? My sisters are gonna be livid." He smiled.
The next day, around 8 PM, Frank and Ned were on their way to Minnie's house to pick her up for the concert. Frank was wearing a black and white baseball cap while Ned wore a backwards red cap. "Are you excited for this, Frank? Needless to say, I'm excited for this. I don't get to see musical artists live in concert that often, so this is gonna be a neat experience." Ned told Frank with a smile.
Frank shrugged. "I don't know. I love myself a good concert, but I'm mainly going to Justin's concert tonight for Minnie. It's only fair that I go there with her after she went to see Boyz II Pokémon with me last summer." He responded to Ned as the two walked up the doorstep of Minnie's house.
"Yeah, good point." Ned nodded at Frank's response as Frank rang the doorbell. "You and Minnie are really good for each other. You both appreciate the things you do for each other, and that's what makes a good couple in my eyes." He told Frank.
Frank blushed and chuckled at that. "Yeah, I guess you could say that. I hope that you'll be able to find yourself a girl like Minnie one day, Ned. You deserve it." He told his friend with a smile.
Ned smiled back at that. "Thanks, Frank." He replied to his friend.
"Anytime." Frank nodded before the door opened, showing Minnie standing in the doorway wearing a sleeveless black dress with flat straps. Frank couldn't help but do a sexy whistle at that. "Whoa, you really dolled yourself up for this concert, did you, Minnie?" He asked his girlfriend with a smile.
"Tell me about it. I don't think there's any Justin Bidoof fan dolls themselves up for a concert as much as she has tonight." Ned chimed in.
Minnie giggled as she spun around for a moment. "Well, of course! After all, Justin broke up with his girlfriend Sunflora Gomez a while ago, and I'm hoping that me and Frank could do like a polyamorous relation with him!" She beamed.
"A polyamorous relationship? Isn't that, like, a really immoral thing to do?" Ned asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Yeah, and if I'm not mistaken, you hate relationships with huge age gaps. I mean, he's like 16, while you're at least 10." Frank chimed in.
"In the case of Justin Bidoof, I can always make an exception, Frank! Now let's go to that concert!" Minnie beamed as she happily skipped out the door, closing it behind her as Frank and Ned looked at each other before following Minnie.
"I have a really bad feeling about this polyamory thing, Frank. I feel like if Minnie offers the idea to Justin, she's going to get her heart crushed by him." Ned whispered to Frank.
Frank nodded in agreement. "I agree, Ned. I also have a really bad feeling about this." He whispered back.
The trio made it to the location of Justin Bidoof's concert, the Pelipper Pop Temple in Pelipper City. They got in line, and once they made it up to the bouncer, a Machoke wearing a black suit with a white dress shirt, a black tie and black sunglasses, Frank showed him the three tickets for Ned, Minnie and himself. The Machoke bouncer nodded and took the tickets from Frank and allowed him, Ned and Minnie to pass.
A short while later, Frank, Ned and Minnie were in the bleachers, waiting for the concert to start. Shortly afterward, Justin Bidoof came rushing onto the stage dressed in a white buttoned up jacket and white trousers. The audience cheered loudly as Justin made his way onto the stage, and Minnie did the same thing, causing Frank and Ned to cringe a bit.
"Hello, Pelipper City! Really loving the energy from you all! Now let's get this party started!" Justin shouted before he began to sing one of his hit songs, Sorry. All the female Pokémon in the audience gushed at Justin's singing, while the male Pokémon like Frank and Ned just enjoyed the music for what it was.
Later, after the concert ended, Frank, Ned and Minnie were outside the Pelipper Pop Temple. "That...was...amazing! Just...amazing! I got to see Justin Bidoof live in concert! Thank you, Frank, for taking me here tonight!" Minnie beamed as she hugged Frank.
Frank chuckled and hugged her back. "Anytime, Minnie. It was the least I could do to repay you for going with me to see Boyz II Pokémon last summer." He told Minnie with a smile.
Suddenly, Ned noticed Justin Bidoof coming their way. "Hey, Minnie. Justin Bidoof at 12 o'clock." He pointed out.
Minnie gasped as she noticed Justin coming their way. "Ohmigosh, he's coming over to us?! Now I can ask him what I wanted to ask him all day!" She squealed as Frank and Ned sighed.
"Hey, guys. Fancy meeting you again. I couldn't help but notice you guys sticking out among the crowd, and I couldn't help but especially notice you all dolled up for the concert. You really are a superfan, aren't you?" Justin asked Minnie.
"Yes, I am! And...I have a question for you!" Minnie replied with her eyes glistening in excitement.
"And that is?" Justin asked her.
"Would you...Would you perhaps be interested in a polyamorous relationship with me and my boyfriend Frank?" Minnie asked, her eyes continuing to glisten in excitement.
Justin looked over at Frank and Ned, and Frank nodded in approval. "That would be fun." He replied as Minnie began to squeal happily. "As a token of our new polyamorous relationship, how about you take this stuffed Cubchoo and stand right here?" Justin added as he handed Minnie a stuffed Cubchoo.
"Uhhhh, why do you want her to stand right there with that bear?" Frank asked Justin with a raised eyebrow as Ned looked in the other direction, and his eyes widened in realization at what was going on.
"Uhhhh, Frank...? Minnie...?" Ned spoke before Frank and Minnie also looked over in the same direction and noticed Sunflora Gomez walking over to the group.
"Justin...What's going on?" Sunflora asked Justin with a raised eyebrow.
"Sunflora...Meet my new girlfriend...And her boyfriend. We're in a polyamorous relationship together." Justin told Sunflora with a smirk.
Sunflora folded her arms in front of her chest. "Uh huh...And you're thinking that getting together with a girl who's already in a committed relationship and giving her the stuffed Cubchoo you gave me for my birthday will win me over again?" She glared at Justin.
Minnie frowned as she began to realize something was wrong. "What...?"
"I have no interest in winning you over again. I just wanted to see if you'd be jealous so you could see how breaking up with me was a huge mistake on your part." Justin smirked as Minnie began to growl and tears began rolling down her cheeks. Frank and Ned began to glare at Justin as well.
"Hell no, Justin. I'm not jealous. I broke up with you because you are what all your rabid fans fail to realize you are: A douchebag." Sunflora glared at Justin some more.
Justin scowled at Sunflora. "Well, fuck you then. You're not worth my time anymore." He flipped Sunflora off.
"Says the guy who tried to get together with a girl way younger than him in an attempt to make his ex-girlfriend jealous." Sunflora scoffed.
Minnie then let out a war cry and kicked Justin in the balls, causing Justin to fall to the ground and squirm in pain. "I can't believe that I was a fan of you! You're nothing short of a douchebag who wants to make his ex-girlfriend feel like crap because she rightfully dumped you! I never want to see you again!" She shouted Justin before throwing the stuffed Cubchoo at him and storming off. Frank and Ned proceeded to both punch Justin in the face before following after Minnie.
Justin groaned in pain. "Ugh...I really deserved that, didn't I...?" He asked Sunflora. She didn't respond to him and instead just spit in his face and left as well.
The scene then cut to Frank and Ned's house, where Frank, Ned and Minnie were sitting on the couch as Minnie was crying her eyes out and Frank was rubbing her back to comfort her. "I can't believe that asshole only wanted to be with me to try and make his ex-girlfriend jealous..." Minnie cried.
"Yeah, I can't believe he broke your heart and deceived you like that either, baby..." Frank agreed, being just as pissed as Minnie was.
"But look on the bright side: You still have Frank, a boyfriend who genuinely loves you and appreciates the things you do for him." Ned chimed in.
Minnie stopped crying and looked up at Frank and Ned. "Yeah...Yeah, I guess you're right, Ned...I do have a boyfriend who genuinely loves me...I'm actually the luckiest girl in the world to have someone like Frank..." She smiled and hugged Frank, causing Frank to smile and hug Minnie back.
The doorbell then proceeded to ring, causing the trio to look up in confusion. "Who could be at the door at this hour?" Frank asked in confusion.
"I'll get it." Ned replied as he got up from the couch and walked to the door, opening it and revealing Sunflora Gomez standing there. "Whoa! It's Sunflora Gomez!" He exclaimed.
"Hello. Can I come in for a moment? I just wanted to apologize for Justin's behavior." Sunflora asked.
Ned looked over to Frank and Minnie, who nodded. Ned looked back at Sunflora and nodded too. "Sure, you can come in." He replied as he let Sunflora inside and closed the door. Ned and Sunflora then walked over to the couch and sat down on it.
"Hey. I haven't gotten the names of you three yet. You are?" Sunflora asked the trio.
"I'm Minnie Treecko." Minnie told her.
"I'm Frank Pikachu, I'm Minnie's boyfriend." Frank told her.
"And I'm Ned Squirtle, I'm Frank's best friend and housemate." Ned told her.
"Alright. Well, again, I just wanted to apologize for Justin's behavior. His ego has gone through the roof after the fame rose to his head. After realizing how much of an egocentric loser he was, I broke up with him, and apparently that was reason enough for him to go on an ego trip and try to use you to make me jealous." Sunflora told Minnie.
"It's okay. You don't need to apologize for your ex-boyfriend's actions. It was nobody's fault but his own." Minnie told Sunflora with a smile.
Frank nodded in agreement. "By the way, how did you know where me and Ned lived?" He asked Sunflora curiously.
"I went to the local town hall to ask." Sunflora told him.
"Ah, okay." Frank nodded again.
"Well, if it makes you any better, I could give you three a private concert, free of charge. Would you like that?" Sunflora asked with a smile.
"A free private concert from Sunflora Gomez? How can we turn that down?" Ned asked with a grin.
"Let's go for it!" Frank, Ned and Minnie beamed in unison. Sunflora smiled and got up from the couch, then began to sing for the trio. All's well that ends well.
