Memories
Summary: Basically my ideas on how Lulu and Wakka got together in FF X-2. Done mostly in flashback, as Wakka reflects on his past.

So, I present Memories!
Wakka stood on the sandy beach, away from the village. He liked coming out here away from the pressures of family life and the duties of village elder. The afternoon sun blazed in the sky, he let its light play over his broad features, and tanned, muscled body. His mind wanders, back to the day his dreams came true right on this beach.
He remembered it clearly, the evening sun reflecting of the ever calm Besaid sea, the gulls were squawking their, a slight breeze of the sea stirring the trees and bushes around the beach. The low rustling of the leaves and the quiet lapping of the waves on the wide, white sandy beach.
And her, his beloved, the woman he has always loved, standing just ahead of him, facing out across the endless, glinting sea. He stood as if he was calm and light-hearted as always, but inside he was nervous possibly terrified. He was about to do what he always wanted to do, and it felt right but he still felt as if he were betraying his brothers memory.
He had gone to the Farplane a few days before to ease his mind. He poured out his heart to the image of Chappu, his little brother. It felt like asking permission, and in a way it was. As Wakka left, he felt like Chappu had given him the permission he needed.
He loved watching her and being in the presence of the pale skinned beauty.
"Lu?" he said softly
She turns the slowly fading sun bringing a hint of colour to her colourless cheeks. He has a serious look on his face, more serious than she has ever seen him have. It was surprising to her and Wakka knew it.
"Wakka?" she said in that low, calm voice "What is it?"
"Lu, I have something I need to say, ya" he said, lowly.
"Wakka, what is wrong?" she asked, confused.
He stands silent for a moment, then building his nerve
"I love you Lu" he began "I always have and I know you may not be to love me, not after …"
"Chappu" she finished
"Ya, I just wanted you to know" He turned to leave.
Lulu stood for a second, frozen.
Wakka heard soft footsteps, the sand crunching and then a soft hand was placed on his shoulder. He turned to see tears welling in crimson eyes.
"Lu, don't cry" he said "I'm okay if you aren't past Cha-
"Wakka I'm past Chappu" she whispered "I love someone else"
He stepped forward hardly daring to hope he asked
"Who is it Lu?"
"You Wakka" she replied softly "I love you"
As if that was all he needed he bent his down to capture her plum lips in a soft loving kiss as the sun sank behind the horizon. They delighted to finally be sharing what they both had wanted for so long. They lay in the sand, the stars coming out and the moon rose sending its silver light flooded over Besaid. The new couple spent their first night together under the light of the stars, listening to the night noises of the beach.
