Chapter 2-Bullets For A Brother
The group arrived at Bishop's base and the turtle copter landed on the outside of the building.
Suddenly, a large group of soldiers stormed out of the base and surrounded the group as soon as they got out of the copter. They then pointed their guns at them.
"Don't move! Hands in the air!" One of the soldiers commanded.
"We mean you no harm! We wish to speak with Agent Bishop!" Leo told the soldiers firmly but calmly.
The soldiers looked at one another in uncertainty before one of them reluctantly spoke through his communicator and requested Agent Bishop to come and meet with the group.
"Well, well, turtles…what brings you to my base? Did you surrender yourselves as my new test subjects…?" The agent questioned in an eerily friendly tone.
"We're not here to play science games, Bishop; we need your help with stopping the viral outbreak that you caused!" Leo answered firmly, immediately getting to the point.
"You misunderstand; the outbreak was a slight 'by-product' of what my last creations left behind after you defeated them…" Bishop explained himself, still sounding oddly calm.
"Doesn't matter! You were da one who started dis mess, and yer gonna fix it by givin' us da cure, so dat we can save our brother Donnie!" Raph fired back in anger.
Now Mikey and the others were a bit confused; Raph was blaming the youngest turtle one minute and then he's blaming Bishop the next. What was going on in Raph's head?
"Donatello has been infected, has he? I was wondering why he is not with you…Where is he?" Bishop said with a raised eyebrow.
"…He is right here…" Master Splinter answered as he moved aside to show Bishop the container with a grumpy-looking Donnie inside.
"Hmm…I did not expect results like this from the outbreak's virus…" Bishop said, now intrigued at what Donnie had become as a result of being infected with the alien virus.
"Ah, ha, ha, ha, ha! The smartest of you freaks has fallen victim to the outbreak! What dumb luck you all have!" Stockman blurted out in laughter.
"Grr…!" Raph growled in anger at the cyborg and was going to lunge at him if Leo hadn't have held him back.
"Enough! Stockman, get everything ready in the lab for Donatello…" Bishop commanded firmly to prevent a full-blown fight from breaking out.
Stockman looked at Bishop in shock and disbelief due to the fact that Bishop was not finding this as funny as he did, but he didn't make a protest and followed his order since he didn't want to face the full wrath of the agent once he was angry.
"Hold on a minute, Bishop…Do you actually have a cure for this outbreak?" Leo suddenly questioned suspiciously.
Everyone, including Stockman, froze and went silent for a whole moment as the mutant group waited for Bishop to answer Leo's question. The agent turned to look at Stockman, who shook 'no' at him, before he turned back to look at the group and smirk as he spoke his answer.
"…Yes…but first, come inside, and we will talk more in the lab…"
"Wait…" Mikey suddenly said, causing the group to stop and look at him in confusion.
"Mikey, what are you-"
"What's the catch, Bishop?" Mikey then questioned suspiciously with his arms crossed, cutting a now surprised Leo off.
"Catch?" Bishop said with a raised eyebrow and his voice containing a mocked innocence.
"You heard me; you're not planning on giving us the cure for free, are you? You're the kinda guy who always wants something in return…" Mikey confronted with a glare.
The Hamato family and Leatherhead looked at Mikey in amazement; they couldn't believe how intuitive and brave he was being towards one of their most hated enemies.
"It seems that you are not as stupid as your brothers and rat of a father think you are…" Bishop said with a sigh, making Leo, Master Splinter, and even Raph glare at him, before he spoke again.
"Yes, I did say that you can have the cure, but you must retrieve something for me in exchange…"
"And what's dat?" Raph questioned.
"We will discuss that in a moment…First thing's first, let's get Donatello moved and then we'll talk about a deal…" Bishop said in a serious tone.
The mutant group looked at each other with unsure expressions on their faces. They all felt reluctant to go any further with this plan, but knowing that Bishop might be their only hope of curing and saving Donnie, they had no choice. Therefore, each member of the mutant group followed Bishop and his soldiers into the facility whilst keeping hopeful that Bishop keeping had kept his word in terms of the cure actually being inside the base.

Inside Bishop's base…
Once the group had entered the base, they saw another containment being brought over to them by some of the soldiers.
"What's dat for?" Raph questioned suspiciously.
"As impressed as I am on your own containment unit's design, mine is specially built to withstand twice as much brute force from Donatello than yours…And it can also connect to any of the lab facilities, so the cure can be automatically transferred to him…" Bishop explained flatly.
"Ok, but I'm not sure if Donnie will go inside it willingly…" Leo said in uncertainty.
"I am sure Donatello will behave during the process…We will be there for him if he becomes distressed…" Master Splinter reassured.
"Well, then…Shall we get to work with transferring him?" Bishop questioned whilst adjusting his glasses a bit.
Leo, Raph, and Mikey looked at each other before they looked at Master Splinter and Leatherhead. They were all feeling nervous at the thought of moving Donnie from his original containment unit to Bishop's, but again, there was no other choice. Therefore, they all gave Bishop a nod to say that they were ready to go.
After receiving their consent, Bishop signalled the soldiers to bring his containment unit a bit closer to Donnie's.
"Open the containers, but keep the gaps between them closed…" The agent commanded.
The soldiers did as they were told; they opened the containers' doors before they immediately moved to the side of where the gap was meeting in the middle to reduce the risk of Donnie trying to escape during the transfer.
After seeing the door now open, Donnie became curious and begun to slowly walk out of his containment unit and head towards the other one. Everyone held their breaths as they watched him go.
"That's it, Donnie…you're nearly there…" Leo whispered as he watched with hope in his heart that everything would go smoothly with the transfer.
However, Donnie suddenly stopped halfway and was looking at the containment unit as if he was investigating it and checking for anything suspicious before he could go in.
'Go on, Donnie…Keep moving…' Mikey said to his brother in thought whilst he watched anxiously as the double-mutated turtle was halfway towards the new containment unit when he stopped.
"Hey! Move it, you freak!" Stockman commanded harshly before he grabbed a shock rod and jabbed it at Donnie.
ZAP!
"Rrroooaaarrr!" Donnie roared in pain as he lost his balance and nearly fell completely to the ground if he hadn't have used his large hand to stop himself.
The mutant group looked on in horror when they saw this happen.
"Stop it! You're hurting him!" Mikey cried out both furiously and desperately.
"We don't have time for this! Get moving, or else!" Baxter Stockman commended in frustration before he jabbed him again.
That was the last straw for Donnie…
"RROOOAARR!"
"Whoa!" "Watch out!" The soldiers cried out in terror as they narrowly dodged Donnie's swipes from both his claws and tail.
"Oh, way ta go, Stockman…!" Raph scolded the cyborg sarcastically.
"Get a back-up unit in here, now! Use lethal force if necessary!" Bishop suddenly commanded through his ear piece.
"No, Bishop! You told us that you'd help us!" Leo told the agent firmly.
"I did, but if Donatello is not kept under control within the next minute, I will force my hand and sort this out my way!" Bishop threatened with a stern look on his face.
With no time to lose, Leo looked at Raph and Mikey and urgently asked them an important question.
"We've got to calm him down! Do we have any tranquilisers left?"
"I've only got two…!" Raph said first, taking his darts out of his own gun to show his brother.
"I'm down to one myself…" Mikey said next in an anxious tone.
"Well, I've still got a hand full left, so if you give me what's left of yours, I can-"
"Waaah!" Rrroooaaaarrr!"
Leo was suddenly interrupted by the combination of scared and pained cries of the soldiers and the angry roar of Donnie.
When he, his brothers, Master Splinter, and Leatherhead turned to look at Donnie, their eyes widened in terror; they could see Donnie being pinned to the ground by a dozen soldiers and he was tossing the soldiers one at a time away from him as he struggled to break free.
"I'm coming, Donnie! Hang on!" Mikey cried out as he ran to his immediate older brother's aid, dropping his tranquiliser gun and stunning his brothers in the process.
As soon as he reached him, Mikey removed the remaining soldiers off of Donnie's body, then climbed onto Donnie's back, and held on as his immediate older brother stood back up.
"Mikey, what are ya doin'!?" Raph questioned angrily.
"What a true brother should be doing! What does it look like!?" Mikey cried out as he held on for dear life.
"Rrooaarr!" Donnie roared out again as he tried to buck and get Mikey off of his back.
"Donnie, it's ok! It's me, Mikey, your brother!" Mikey called out to try and reach his brother.
Suddenly, a large group of soldiers appeared and stood in a straight line in front of the group.
"Get into position and be ready to fire!" Bishop commanded some of his soldiers.
"Bishop, no! Just give him couple of more minutes!" Leo begged.
"My patience is already running thin, turtle! I'm not going to continue to allow your brother to rampage through my facility…!" Bishop warned.
"Donnie! Donnie, calm down! You're safe!" Mikey shouted soothingly to his immediate older brother to try and calm him down, but the poor turtle held his head in his hands as he was still struggling in his inner mental battle to listen to him.
"Fire at will!" Bishop commanded, his patience now completely gone.
"No, DON'T!" Leo cried out desperately as he ran towards the gunmen to try and stop them from shooting at Donnie.
But it was too late…
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
A number of bullets were fired at Donnie. Leo, Raph, Master Splinter, and Leatherhead covered their eyes to avoid watching this happen to one of their own.
But when they opened their eyes again, they saw with wide eyes that none of the bullets had struck Donnie.
Instead, they had struck someone else…
Right in front of Donnie was Mikey, who was barely standing straight with his arms out wide and most of his body was covered in bullet wounds; he had five on his plastron, a bullet wound in his left shoulder, and a few on each of his arms and legs.
"Ah…Ngh…" The orange-banded turtle gasped with wide eyes and his mouth was half open, but he couldn't speak due to the intense pain from the bullet wounds.
"MIKEY!" "MICHELANGELO!" Leo, Raph, Master Splinter, and Leatherhead cried out as they rushed towards him when they saw him beginning to collapse from the shock of being shot multiple times.
Leo was the fastest to reach Mikey and catch him in time before he could land hard on the ground.
"Mikey! Mikey, stay with me! Don't close your eyes!" The blue-banded turtle cried out desperately as he held Mikey close whilst trying to stop the bleeding on the young turtle's wounded plastron.
"We need medical assistance over here NOW!" Leatherhead demanded whilst glaring at Agent Bishop as if to say 'I dare you to challenge me'.
"Get a medical room ready for him…the croc may be of even more use to us after all…" Bishop ordered reluctantly whilst smirking at Leatherhead who was still glaring fiercely at the agent.
"D-D-on…" Mikey struggled to speak his brother's name due to the intense pain and difficulty in breathing.
"He's ok, Mikey, he didn't get hit…you did well protecting him…" Leo reassured his wounded brother.
"G-Good…Ngh!" Mikey managed to say before he grunted when a wave of pain struck him.
"Don't talk now, bro…Save your strength…!" Leo told his little brother firmly but softly.
"My son…stay strong…" Master Splinter said to his youngest son as he placed a soothing paw on his head.
At the corner of his eye, Mikey saw Donnie just standing a few inches away from him and looking at him as if he was stunned by what the youngest had just done for him, before being tranquilised by Raph who had grabbed a tranquiliser gun and shot him five times without noticing. He watched as Donnie swayed and collapsed to the ground as the tranquiliser's effects begun to kick in.
Then, Raph looked from Donnie to Mikey with a face that was difficult for anyone to read. Was he worried about him, or was he still resentful towards him?
"M'sorry…F-Forgive…m-me…" Mikey stuttered weakly before blacking out and a stream of blood poured out of his mouth.
"Mikey!? No! Wake up!" Leo cried out in a panic as he shook Mikey to try and wake him back up, but it wasn't working.
"We must stem the bleeding quickly!" Leatherhead told Leo as he passed him a bandage roll.
"R-Right!" Leo said shakily before he took the bandage roll and started to wrap the bullet wounds on Mikey's plastron whilst Leatherhead and Master Splinter wrapped the bullet wounds on Mikey's arms and legs.
Bishop watched the mutant group tend to Mikey just as a medical bed was wheeled over to them. He then turned to look at Donnie, who was now completely unconscious.
"Restrain and contain Donatello, carefully…" The agent instructed his men flatly with a sigh.
The soldiers nodded and begun the process of carefully moving Donnie into the containment unit. Fortunately, the sedative's dosage was strong enough to keep Donnie from waking up during the whole thing.
"Thank you…" Master Splinter said gratefully to the agent, despite keeping his guard up still.
"Don't thank me yet, rodent; We still need to discuss more on Donatello's treatment…also, consider what just happened here as your first and only warning; if Donatello breaks free and becomes aggressive towards us again, we will be forced to put him down permanently…" Bishop replied firmly with a warning.
"It will not come to that, I can assure you on that!" Master Splinter bit back angrily.
"Master Splinter, let's go!" He then heard Leo frantically called out to him just as he and the others swiftly started the transportation of Mikey into the infirmary.
The old sensei looked back at Bishop for a moment before he took off to join his sons and Leatherhead as they hurried towards the infirmary to begin Mikey's treatment.
Bishop just watched them go before he adjusted his glasses and smirked.
