Chapter One: The Fire
" QUIGELY" Isadora screamed until she was horse. "MUM, DAD"
Isadora collapsed crying on the ground as she watched her life burn in the flames along with everything else.
"No, no why us, why."
"Isadora, calm down please." As Duncan comforted his sister he cried along with her. "Isadora they can't be dead. They probably got out threw the back and they are thinking the same about us."
Duncan brought Isadora to her feet and held her until their home was burned to ashes. Then they looked at their no longer home crying for comfort from their parents and their bother, but no such want was met. For when they walked around their home they saw no such comfort.
"NO, NO! QUIGLEY! MUM! DAD! NO! PLEASE COME BACK PLEASE." Isadora collapsed once more.
Duncan sat down next to his sister crying and pondering their fate their fate. What were they going to do?
"Isadora get up we must so find shelter, we can't stay out here in the cold."
Duncan pulled his sister up and as they trudged threw the snow Duncan looked at Isadora and Isadora looked at Duncan. Both could see the pain in each other's eyes. They knew that nothing would ever be the same again. And in the wintry, white snow they cried for loss, for grief, for sadness and for despair. Unknowing that they weren't alone in the world, that other children were soon to face a similar fate.
