About Me
Hello! I am your host and creator of the Casual Roleplay series, Ola! I am also responsible for a few MGE fanfictions, a MHA fanfiction, and an original I had a few years ago, but then I got busy with school those years and that sort of idea kind of phased itself out...anyway!
I've been writing since 2016, and I have been drawing since 2021. I also play basketball, play some chess, and enjoy my fair share of weight lifting.
As for video games, my list of favorites includes Trackmania, Rocket League, Tanki Online, War Thunder, NFS Most Wanted (2012), and Modern Warfare 3.
I also like cars a lot! My favorites and most iconic for me are the Lexas LFA and the Lamborghini Aventador.
Finally, I like the color red, although I've been told I am better with purple. I don't know why, though, but I guess they aren't wrong idk.
2022 Addendum…
I wrote this with the notion that I would be faster writing or uploading as I went along. The plans evolved so I guess I can list some changes here.
My new fave list of games is Trackmania, Rocket League, Fortnite (yes I got back in it), Kerbal Space Program, and Project Cars. Wreckfest is an honorable mention.
I'm a red/purple kind of person now. They were right.
I am on and off with drawing. I draw a bit, but with everything going on personally it's not a main thing.
How the Series Works
So, months [or years? I forgot when I wrote this] ago I promised I would explain the structure of the series for the foreseeable future. Well…
At the basis of it, I have a self-made problem. I made a bunch of characters for role-playing - one for each mamono (as I am a nerd) - yet, none of them are fleshed out. I would just make character sheets, but that is waaaay too boring to do for hundreds of potential OCs. Now, you may look at the lengths of books I have written and go, "But Ola, isn't this a lot more work?"
…I can't argue against that, but it isn't boring though.
You see, to make it more manageable, I have clustered groups of unpolished OCs into different folders, which I call "seasons". Each season is compiled of similar characters that would fit into that setting. As season two characters were all kingdom-y and adventure-based, while season 1.5 characters were almost all Yokai, or at least looked like they could be Yokai. From these seasons, I derive plot points based on the roleplay of each character I used. I plan to do this for every character I have, until I have exhausted the backlog of my laziness.
And I have quite the backlog from roleplay. Even when the mental storage of lore, I also write the story as it develops. I don't completely plan out the plot from the beginning; it's also a good way of keeping expectations low and fighting burnout. I don't have to follow a layout, I just write what I come up with on the spot. Basically, I'm trying to do the Adventure Time method but without any of the professional skill.
I also name each chapter "episodes" just to keep with the theme. I am also going to have a "movie" coming out, so be on the watch for that! Or not, let's face it, my writing could take years. The Hiatuses between uploads help mentally.
I know is inconvenient retention-wise, but I have a few unfinished fanfictions that I will probably never touch again, and I attribute that to my younger self putting too much emphasis on pumping out content regularly. I did my best to make sure the quality never dropped, but my endurance did. Doing it this way means that I'm not caring about schedules or fans, only my thought process and what happens.
Lastly, on sites like here I call this series "Casual Roleplay." On my documents and a few other places, I called it "A Casual Collection." It is a discrepancy in naming, but it doesn't matter, because both names are doo doo water.
So without further adieu, please enjoy the Casual Roleplay DLC! Now that I don't have to make characters from scratch or worry about the plot, this will be a lot easier!
