Town Meeting Confessions

Chapter 5. Stood Up, Or So She Thought.

Warning: This chapter skips around A LOT.

Lorelai and Rory:

"Rory, I finally found me an outfit!" I yell to my daughter. I went through my whole closet and I just put back on the first thing that I had torn off in disgust.

Luke:

Luke was sitting in the hospital waiting room staring at his feet. How could this happen to his sister. He felt horrible. His sister had Cancer. He felt as if his heart had been ripped out of his chest. Yet, in the very bottom of his stomache, there was a false kind of feeling.

Ms.Patty:

Patty got out the gavel, and got the podium ready for the town meeting. She put the fliers for her latest dance recital out in the front for the townspeople to grab on their way in or out. This week it was her intermediate Ballet class. They had just learned Swan Lake. She opened the door to the dance studio to let in some air. It was almost time for the town meeting.

Lorelai and Rory:

I have just finished putting on my favorite boots and I am just sitting and thinking about tonight will go. What will Luke do? Will he run? Will he tell me he feels the same way? Will he even show up? "Mom quit worrying everything will be fine. Have a cup of coffee and then we will head off to the town meeting." Rory says silencing my thoughts. "Ok sweets. Lets get this show on the road." I say, sounding more confident than I actually feel.

Sookie and Jackson:

"Jackson hurry up, we can't be late. Lorelai said she has something really important shes going to announce!" Sookie yelled to her husband. Lorelai sounded really excited. I can't wait to see what she is going to say. "Ok lets go Sook!" Jackson yells. "Coming." To the town meeting, away.

Taylor:

"Who can take a rainbow Wrap it is a sigh Soak it in the sun and make a strawberry lemon pie?" Taylor sang as he got ready for the town meeting. He left his house and started off for the town meeting. He couldn't be late could he? He was the one who ran the town meetings.They couldn't have a meeting without him. Just as he was crossing the street, a large truck came around the corner and hit Taylor unconcious.

Author:

HaHa, just kidding, Taylor made it to the meeting okay.

Doctor at hospi:

"Liz it seems we got your ex-ray mixed up with someone elses. You're free to go home tonight. You do not have Cancer."

"Oh thank gosh." Luke says.

Lorelai and Rory: Rory and I walk into the dance studio and scan the crowd. We see Luke and his sister and wave to them. They walk over to us.

"Hey Lorelai how are you doing?" asks Liz.

"I'm doing good. How are you doing Liz?"

"Good. I got into a car crash and broke my arm today, and the doctor had to take ex-rays so he took them and then he got them mixed them up with someone elses and we thought I had Cancer for a while. We almost didn't make it."

"I'm glad you did, its going to be an interesting meeting. Luke how are you doing?"

"I'm doing good."

Luke and I are just staring into eachothers' eyes. We do this a lot, but today it just feels even better.

"Will everyone please be quiet and take your seats?" Yells Taylor.

I sit with Luke on my right, and Rory on my left. Rory gives my hand a squeeze, and smiles a reassuring smile. I smile a nervous smile back. Then I look at Luke and I smile at him bright and pretty, but still a nervous smile.

"Ok lets bring this meeting to order. anyone who has any Miscellaneous business to attend to please take the floor now." Taylor says. I feel my heart nearly pound its way out of my chest. Rory squeezes my had and I stand and say, "I have an announcement to make."

I make my way up to the podium and for two seconds consider making a run for it, but I don't. I have to do this.

I take a deep breath and speak...
