Chapter One:
Troubles begins….
"Warriors of the night rise! Rise and seek out the one that holds the light! The one named Aelita!" cried a figure in the distance that would soon be known as X.A.N.A.
Whips of shadows rose from the ground, twirling in the night sky. They were able to have both a physical and a spiritual shape. Each special in its own way and deadly all the same.
Somewhere not to far away a very alert girl with a bright aura around her was crouching. She was Aelita, guardian of Lyoko along with her trusted friends; Daisuke, graceful in water; Yamato, stable with earth; Hikari, forceful in fire; and Satoshi, agile with wind. These were the guardians of Lyoko. Lyoko was split into 4 regions: Artic, Forest, Mountain and Desert. Each guardian was most powerful in his/her region where as Aelita was skillful anywhere. Each of these regions had a bridge into our world, but they were well guarded by these guardians. In the center of each region lays a core, a core that should remain pure until X.A.N.A. corrupts it. When he does, shadows pour out of it and it is up to these guardians to defeat the shadows and get Aelita to the core safely so she can purify it again.
"Friends, there is trouble in the Mountain Region. X.A.N.A has taken the core," cried Aelita with a start.
"Let's go then," said Satoshi.
By the time the 5 guardians reached the Mountain Region, they saw an ambush waiting for them.
"Holy Song," cried Aelita while singing 3 short notes out making some of the shadows fall down.
"Water Torpedoes," shouted Daisuke, sending out water missiles.
"Flaming Storm," said Hikari raining fire bolts from the sky.
"Avalanche," cried Yamato breaking off parts of the mountain.
"Whirlwind," shouted Satoshi while twirling and flipping shadows around.
The guardians continued casting their spells as the shadows kept on coming towards them. One shadow spat out poison, another paralyzed them. Aelita kept her holy song going, curing these problems. Eventually, after the guardians were worn out, the remaining shadows retreated. They quickly went to the core and waited for Aelita to purify it again.
"The core has been purified again my friends," Aelita said, walking back to where the group was.
"Hooray," Satoshi said doing a back flip in mid-air.
"That was difficult…" Daisuke commented.
"You don't think that was a decoy do you," Hikari asked.
"A decoy for what," Yamato questioned.
"A trick so that XANA can get into the other world," Hikari responded.
"We better check the bridges," Satoshi said.
"I'll meet you guys at the top of the Mountain Sector," said Aelita.
"Got it," the other 4 guardians said, splitting off to their respective sectors.
