The pack stood in silence waiting for the Sun g-ddess, Sol, to leave the Earth. Lucinda would be turning 13 when the Moon g-ddess, Lua, rose to greet them and change them from human to wolf. This would be Lucinda's first time running with the pack. 13, was considered the age when A young loups-garoux was old enough to marry and run with the pack. So Lucinda waited, waited for the change into wolf form. She could feel her muscles straining. It was A sign that Lua would soon enter the sky. Lucinda could now here the young pups counting down the sunset.

Pups- 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, WELCOME LUA!

The noises of the pack started to disintegrate in Lucinda's mind. The change was happening. She could almost hear Lua reading the poem with witch she gave them the gift of change.

Corsair of the wood, discard your skin

Your pallid, wormlike vulnerability.

Corsair of the wood, exchange your skin

For pelt of dun and brindle luxury.

A pentagram is burning, in your eyes

And soft, pale twists

Of wolf bane squeeze your heart.

A grinding pain is writhing your thighs

The crunch of bones,

Proclaims the change's start

Pirate of the flesh

Throw back your head,

And part your jowls

To sing a lunar song.

The forest paths are dark, and the night is long.

Lucinda's mother- Darling, come. The pack is waiting to congratulate you!
