Christmas Memories
The snow was falling lightly this Christmas Eve. People were cheering each other as they met on the street and everywhere were happy faces… except by a tombstone. The stone was cold and smooth, by it sat a midnight blue haired boy and cried. Gently he strokes his fingers over the smooth surface of the stone and read the engraving.
Goodbye dear friend
We'll miss you forever.
May you forever rest in peace,
We know you sure deserved it,
After that life you lived.
The boy by the stone was about seventeen, so he was more of a young man than a boy, and his name was Tyson Kinomiya. Tears were still falling from the poor boy's eyes as he gently whispered:
"I miss you… I know we didn't really get along in the beginning… but I grew on you and you grew on me to the stage when I loved you. I guess I just didn't tell you often enough. If I had, then maybe your heart would have kept beating even after that car hit you."
Tyson sighed as even more tears fell from his eyes. He took a shaking breath and said:
"I got you a Christmas present… but I guess it's of no use for you now."
The young man was holding a little box wrapped in crimson red wrappers with golden ribbons. Tyson tried to dry his tears but it kept coming new all the time.
-Flashback-
Tyson was walking down the street when he noticed someone he knew and had missed for awhile now, that someone always managed to disappear.
"Hi there… I've missed you…"
Tyson was interrupted by screeching wheel from a car that had lost control.
"No! Watch out!"
But it was too late, and Tyson watched in horror as the body flew from the impact with the car. He fell down on his knees and whispered to the one in his arms:
"Please don't give up… hang in there! I'll get help."
But the one in his arms had already closed his eyes… and not much later, his heart stopped beating in his chest.
-End Flashback-
"I'm so sorry… I'm so sorry…"
Tyson whispered as he cried. The pain was so utterly horrible and it hurt.
"We didn't get along in the beginning… heck, you didn't get along with anyone, you were always cold and distant. You were more of a spectator than a player."
Tyson sniffed and tried to laugh, but it didn't really work out for him.
"Heh… your glares… you always glared. Always when you watched us, it wasn't looking, it was glaring. But still… I really loved you."
Tyson choked another sob.
"Oh Kai… why did you have to die? Why?"
The boy took one last look at the small tombstone, and then he got up and walked away drying his tears. As he got to the gate of the cemetery, a familiar sight was in front of him. The other male looked at him with saddened eyes and Tyson hugged him while crying on his shoulder. The other male simply stroke his back and then he said:
"There there Tyson… it's going to be alright… he's much happier now."
Tyson took a shaking breath before answering.
"I know… it's just that… I miss him… I miss him Kai."
Kai looked at his boyfriend and said:
"Well… at least kitty Kai was happy before he died. You took god care of him after you found him all alone on that bridge."
Tyson could only nod and the two left the pet cemetery were Kai the Kitty was buried. Tyson had been so reminded of his boyfriend whenever he saw that cat that he just had to name the cat after him. They were so alike the two of them.
