-Chapter One-
-Hopeless-
The sound of explosions from nearby woke Trunks from his sleep. It was a slow awakening, and even opening his eyes felt like it took a tremendous amount of effort. However he knew he had to wake up. He had been sedated for too long and likely it wouldn't end well if he fell back into the blissful sleep that even now beckoned him back.
The sound of automatic gunfire sounded out in the hallways near the room he was inside. It was something that he really didn't like.
"Wake up Trunks. Wake up NOW" He tried to shout to get his energy back, and it worked well enough. Flexing his energy was slow and hard, but it all began coming back to him. It seemed that whoever sedated him didn't know about the harnessing of Ki as there were no restraints that would deprive him of his power.
Then the rush of power flashed through the room as the ground began to shake. Looking down at his body, he was dressed in a pair of blue hospital pants and nothing else. He lay on a metal bed that had a simple cushion and pillow for his body.
Around his ankles wrists and neck were thick metal clasps that he nigh instantly shattered with an expulsion of Ki. Still, he felt displaced and disassociated from reality. Likely the drugs were still trying to suppress him. He stepped off the bed and onto the tiled floor.
"Urggh" Trunks grabbed at his head, trying to orient himself and get rid of the dizziness that he felt from standing up after such a long time. The gunfire sounds were getting closer and whatever was going on was something he really didn't want to get involved in.
After his head seemed to clear a bit, Trunks looked around the room for anything that might help him understand just what was going on. On the far side of the room was a desk with documents lying next to a briefcase that looked to be quickly thrown down on it. Running over to them, He picked one up. It seemed to be a typed out progress report on someone.
Judging by the picture clipped to it, it was him.
It didn't say anything he could understand, but it did have a symbol at the top right of the page. A full red circle with some script in a language trunks didn't understand and couldn't decipher. It seemed that he was experimented on to an extent by an intelligence organization, as this was most certainly not a hospital.
Bang.
The sound of a handgun firing and a bullet whizzing right past his face made Trunks look up from the paper towards the source of the shot.
Standing in the doorway was a woman with pitch black hair contrasted by her chalk white skin. She wore a black hooded coat that stretched down to her thighs that were covered by dark black pants. Black boots clasped with steel clasps were on her feet. Her red eyes were empty and unfeeling.
"Step away from the paper and get back in bed" She commanded in an empty tone in German. Of course Trunks could not understand her. However, it promised violence if the gun in her hand was anything to go by.
"I can't understand you" Trunks replied, trying to reason with the woman. Judging by her Ki signature, she was human, however it was an empty and hopeless signature, and that was disturbing.
Bang.
Another shot was fired. This time it hit trunks in the leg. However, the bullet just crumpled against his skin and dropped harmlessly to the floor.
"Damnit" Trunks cursed. He didn't want to hurt people. Not after the horrible thing Android Seventeen had tricked him into doing.
Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang.
Trunks felt the bullets bounce off of him and decided he had to do something before she alerted more people.
In a speed far beyond anything seen on Earth, Trunks flashed over to the woman in the doorway and struck the back of her neck, knocking her out. However, what he didn't know was that this woman was a Nyto that was connected to the Neural Cloud, and all of the information and everything she saw was sent to Paradeus databases for further use later on.
Gently laying the woman on the floor, Trunks walked quickly out in the hallway. Luckily for him, the gunfights had not made it to this area, and was active in a different wing of this facility.
"I don't have time to waste" Trunks said after coming to the conclusion that running through the hallways of an underground facility would be a waste. There were Ki signatures all over the planet that he could sense, and they were all around him.
Kneeling down for a moment, Trunks flared his Ki, then like an uncompressed spring, he shot up through the ceiling. Then the next and the next. He shot through seventeen underground floors before bursting through the earth and rocks and out into the open sky.
What he found was what seemed to be planet Earth but very different at the same time. As he acclimated to the light, there was heavy combat going on all around him. Bullets flew all around him as women and machines fired rifles, mortars, and various weaponry at each other. As Trunks looked around, it seemed that he was spotted by one of the women that looked remarkably like the woman he had incapacitated back underground, and this one held an automatic rifle. Quickly aiming at him, She fired many shots at him that he either reflected or dodged out of the way before the woman's head got turned into swiss cheese by a round of fire nearby.
Trunks suppressed his wince at seeing the execution. This was a warzone. Even if he couldn't be harmed by bullets, other people could. Watching the body fall to the floor, he couldn't help but feel slightly sorry for the woman. Even if she was a soldier for the people who had captured him. He hated seeing people brutally die. Especially after the many years of the Android slaughter fest on his Earth.
Deciding that he had to stop this fight somehow, he did the only thing he knew would at least temporarily stop the fighting.
He flexed his arms and screamed as he brought about his Super Saiyan transformation, making sure the effects of it were severe.
His Ki turned a bright Gold as he flew above the battlefield. The scream of anger, pain, fear, and power sounded over the fighting as he forced his Aura further and further out, blowing all the fighters mechs, Tanks and other vehicles back. A violent Earthquake began shaking apart the ground as trees were uprooted and tossed about.
At that moment, it was as if a sun had been birthed from the planet itself.
Energy sensors across the still inhabited areas of the planet went wild and alarms blared in every facility in Germany.
To those that did not know better, a god had descended upon the Earth.
When he felt the war come to a tense stop, He relaxed his power and let it flicker with long snaking bolts of golden electricity around him as his Aura burned like fire around him. Now he had to take advantage of this moment he had just bought and figure out just what was going on. To the best of his ability he would take advantage of the temporary ceasefire he had caused. As of now both sides had retreated to defensible positions in the buildings and roads nearby, watching him.
Floating there in the air above the defensive positions, he used his Ki sensing to find who he would figure might be the leaders of the forces nearby.
Shooting towards a temporary command post a mile away, he landed and he found himself quickly surrounded by women and what looked like even some children all wearing some form of black clothes with their weapons pointed at him. The strange thing was, they didn't seem like full humans. They gave off an incredibly faint Ki, but seemed to be artificial humans.
No. That couldn't be. More androids? This was the worst case scenario.
"Androids!" Trunks growled. An orb of yellow Ki forming in each of his hands, ready to turn these mechanical monstrosities into scrap metal.
One android stepped forward from the encirclement and shouted a command at him, aiming her gun at him threateningly.
"Damnit I can't understand you" Trunks growled. He was angry. He wanted to understand what was going on, but nobody spoke his language.
The Android commanded at him again, but he couldn't understand what she said. This was one of the worst case scenarios he could have had upon waking up in this strange world.
The android seemed to understand that he wouldn't comply and ordered the other androids to fire at him.
Ratatatataatata Bratatatatatata.
Countless bullets shredded his pants, and struck him, however, he took no damage at all and the bullets fell to the ground twisted and blunted.
"Damnit stop shooting at me!" Trunks shouted at them. Then he sent out a Kiai that crumpled the android's guns and sent the Androids flying across the hasty encampment where they smashed into the buildings nearby broken to scrap metal.
"ENOUGH" The loud command broke Trunks out of his stupor.
Someone who could speak the same language as him. Finally he could get some answers.
Turning towards the voice, he found himself face to face with another Android.
This one looked to be a maid at first inspection by Trunks, and as much as he hated to admit it, she had a form of Elegance to her as she approached him.
She was a tall woman with cold yellow eyes, a thin smile and a full body. Just like the others, she had black hair and pale skin.
"I didn't know the Japanese had created something like you" She addressed him, stopping a good five meters from him, ready to fight if need be.
"Japanese? I am not that. I only just arrived here and have no idea where I am" Trunks responded, hoping in his heart of hearts that he wouldn't have to destroy the only thing that could understand him in this strange land.
The android woman was silent for a moment.
It seemed that she was thinking about what he said before she spoke again. At least she wasn't immediately violent to him.
" Very well. Leave here and don't return. We are very busy right now, and you don't look like a Doll. I have things to do and don't want to waste my precious time on you" The Android woman waved him off, before turning around and walking back to the building she had come from.
Trunks wanted to say more, but it seemed that she would not help him further. Probably for the best, considering she was an android.
Not wanting to continue fighting and coming to the conclusion that this wasn't the command base he thought it was. He sighed and looked at the broken androids on the ground around him. It seemed that he couldn't escape androids, even on a completely different world.
Trunks turned away and shot back into the sky.
He wasn't sure where he wanted to go, but anywhere else was better than here. Wherever this was.
Trunks shot across the sky and utilized his superior hearing to listen into everything he could hear, which was quite impressive in distance, as even though he was a half Saiyan, his senses were far beyond that of your average human.
After a good few laps around the planet he came to a revelation. Many chunks of the planet were completely uninhabited due to some reason or other. However, when he entered the areas, he was completely unharmed.
The bad thing was that while he was unharmed there were animals and humans inside these areas that were very changed by the radiation in the air and land. They looked quite like the zombies from movies he had watched as a kid with Gohan and his mother. Their skin and bodies were quite hard, but when they attacked him, he easily broke and shattered the ones that would not let up with their attacks.
This world was quite strange, and there was very little he could do it change it.
The first thing he needed to do would be to acquire some clothes and find someone who was decidedly non hostile to him. After all, he was exhausted mentally and less so physically, and he really needed time to cope with what had happened. With what he had done.
Finding an open field in a deep forest, he sat down and meditated.
What was done could not be undone and he needed to reflect on himself, this world, and what he would do from here on out.
As he sat there under the warm summer sun, a tear formed in his right eye. Then another, and another. Now that he had time to sit in quiet, he had all the time in the world to reflect on his actions.
He really was in a shattered state of mind.
He had killed everyone. His mother. His planet. Everyone he had vowed to save all because of that Android. It wasn't fully his fault, as Android Seventeen was the one that committed the suicidal action. However, that did not lift his guilt.
"I'm so sorry Mom. Dad. Everyone. Will you ever forgive me?" He whispered as he looked down at the long grass between his legs, his tears blurring his vision.
He punched the ground sadly, causing the Earth to tremble for many miles around. However, he hadn't put much force into it. This had to be the third worst day of his life.
Putting his head in his hands he wept. He wept for those he loved. He wept for himself. He wept for his mother. He wept and wept.
His hopes and dreams were shattered beyond repair, and there was nothing he could do to fix them.
"I'm so sorry" He repeated over and over again through his tears.
Not long later the sun began to sink, and he had finally stopped crying.
He needed to keep going.
He was alone in a new world, and crying would not get him anywhere else today.
His stomach growled heavily, and he felt hunger befall him.
Wiping his hands on the grass, he got up and flared his Aura, his Ki giving him some comfort, knowing that at the very least he could care for himself. Shooting across the sky at speeds far beyond any Jet the Earth could create he flew into the sea, where he quickly found himself a large amount of fish and a shark that he could cook and eat later.
It was better than nothing.
