He was cold. That was his first thought as he struggled to open his eyes. The light in the room was dim, but it still caused his eyes to burn. He sat up and observed his surroundings. An extremely old bathroom dingy from lack of care. A rusted tub. A broken toilet with a heart painted on it. Linoleum flooring covered in dried blood. A corpse in the corner by the water pipe. A shackle on the floor with only the foot of the victim left in its grasp. A tape recorder lying next to him. The tape inside said "PLAY ME". He pressed the play button.

"Hello, John. You're probably wondering why you're here. No doubt you recognize your surroundings. You had so much to do with the recent décor. You've spent these last years of your life playing games with people, but never participating yourself. Well, now you get to play your own game. Can you pass the test you've made so many others face? Although, they were fighting to stay alive. You have no will to save yourself, because you already know you're dying. Consider this your last test in life. You're not trying to stay alive or escape. No, you just need to find the purpose of this game. By now you've realized who I am. What an odd twist of events- the detective playing the criminal and the criminal becoming the victim of his own sick schemes. But, you respect these circumstances. All you have to do, John, is beat your own game. Do you have what it takes- what all your victims lacked? You've got 6 hours, Jigsaw. Let the games begin."

John smiled as the tape ended. Time to play the game.
