Chapter 2 - Heroes and Celestials
The next morning
Lucy woke up next Shirou who was still asleep. Lucy smiled at the child's sleeping form before kissing his head. Getting up, she appreciated the apartment which costs about 70,000 Jewel a month. After a long bath and making breakfast, Lucy's fantasy was cut short by a certain idiot with pink hair and a talking blue cat making a mess in her most favorite section of her new home, the living room.
Her response was to kick Natsu in the face planting him in a wall. Then demanding why he and Happy broke into her own home. Happy complimented the home as he started to scratch the walls only to be caught in a net courtesy of an arrow from Shirou who woke up because of the commotion. Then they turned to see Natsu messing with Lucy's manuscripts which led her to kicking Natsu in the face again.
A while later
"Look I just moved in and I'm not ready for guests. Sho how about you two just drink your tea, say thanks and get out? You got that?" Lucy asked feeling no mood to mess around.
"Talk about cold hearted." Natsu said looking offended.
"Ice cold." Happy commented.
"Stupid cat." Shirou muttered.
"I know! Why don't you show me and Happy all those little guys you summon?" Natsu suggested.
"My celestial spirits?" Lucy asked pulling out her keys.
"No the cool ones! Like that minotaur guy!" Natsu said.
Suddenly Lucy felt chest pain and could swear Asterios was trying to break free and rip Natsu's head off. Shirou could sense the Berserker's hatred because he doesn't like being referred that way just like Vlad doesn't like being called a vampire. Clearly Lucy would need to calm the poor man down later so she doesn't rip her soul in half.
"He doesn't like it when you call him that." Lucy said breathing heavily.
"You don't know that!" Happy said.
"Yes I do you stupid cat! I can feel his emotions and everything else when I don't summon them! You can be so insensitive sometimes!" Lucy said punching him away.
"Aw come on! I bet he's just excited and ready to come out." Natsu said.
"Oh really?" Lucy asked with a face of displeasure.
A while later
Lucy and Shirou watched from a window as Natsu began to get pummeled by Asterios for calling him names. Then he tossed Happy into the water knowing cats weren't fond of it. This was just the beginning as their punishment was not going to be remotely easy or gentle.
By the time they Lucy managed to calm the bull man down. Natsu and Happy were covered in bandages on the floor from their injuries.
"What do you say?" Shirou asked the two scared boys.
"We're sorry for calling you names!" they both yelled in fear.
Asterios nodded before returning back to Lucy, "He said apology accepted." she said.
"Man those guys are pretty tough. What are they?" Natsu asked.
"They're heroic spirits and they fall under different categories although some are eligible to change classes. But that's another can of worms. Anyways, what you fought was a Berserker class servant. They're the hardest to control and require the most magical energy known as mana." Lucy explained.
"So when you say servants. Do you mean they do whatever you tell them to do like bring you fish?" Happy asked with drool on the side of his lip.
Shirou spoke up before Lucy could object, "Maybe if you ask nicely. I remember there was one who pretended to do chores, but he enjoyed cleaning her room at one point." he said remembering the mysterious archer Lucy has.
"Yeah, but other than that. They aren't exactly butlers and maids." Lucy said.
"Well that's good to hear! Because you, Shirou and your servants can join our team!" Natsu said.
"Team?" Shirou asked.
"That's right I heard about this. Basically everyone in the guild usually teams up with one or more people with the best dynamics in order to complete difficult missions." Lucy answered.
"That's right and we want you guys to join." Happy said.
"Yeah what do you say?" Natsu asked.
Shirou and Lucy looked at each other before nodding, "Ok we'll team up!" Lucy said.
"Good because I have our first job as a team right here!" Natsu said revealing an advertisement for blond maids at Duke Everlue's estate.
"Natsu that guy doesn't hire maid's whose faces don't resemble roadkill." Lucy deadpanned.
"Yeah I heard he hired a pink haired gorilla as a maid once." Shirou added.
"Ok... that might ruin our real mission." Natsu said revealing the other flyer which was to steal a book from Count Everlue.
"Plan T it is! We storm the mansion!" Happy said.
"Is it too late to join another team?" Shirou asked.
"I see that Levy girl hangs out with two guys all the time. Maybe they have room." Lucy said.
Shirou nodded and the two prepared to leave, "HEY WHERE ARE YOU GOING!? YOU CAN'T LEAVE US!" Natsu yelled with a shocked face.
Duke Everlue's mansion a long time later
So after lots of begging and Happy almost swindling them, Lucy agreed to stay on Natsu's team. First they met up with Kaby Melon and explained that the original price fo 200,000 Jewel had increased to 2 million. As it was clear in the man's voice that he needed that book to be destroyed. Which was enough motivation on its own, but Lucy wondered what warranted the destruction of a work of literature. Regardless, their mission was to get their hands on Daybreak.
Yet again, Natsu suggested breaking into the mansion with force. Although a lot of the Berserkers agreed with the plan, Lucy decided to listen to the Assassins by going in quietly and avoid needless fighting and destruction much the dismay of Heracles and the rest of his class. Lucy then proceeded to summon an especially silent Assassin from the era of the shinobi.
"If you heed my call and obey my will and reason. Then answer my summoning!" Lucy chanted as another circle appeared summoning a raven haired beauty with a red scarf.
"What is she?" Happy asked.
"This is Kato Danzo, she's a silent and deadly fighter like man of the servants in her class." Lucy answered.
"She's also a ninja!" Shirou exclaimed.
"Hello Ms. Lucy, hello Shirou. Do you require my services?" Kato asked.
"Yes, we need your expertise to help us break into that mansion." Lucy answered pointing to Everlue's estates.
"It will be simple." Kato said.
"I doubt it." Natsu said.
Inside the mansion, later
After a quick yet complex break in, Kato managed to lead the group across the halls through complex and amazing agility. So amazing Natsu and Happy had stars in their eyes although both failed to keep up and almost caught someone's attention. The two would also mutter the word ninja a lot as well as doing the ram seal pose for some reason as if it mattered.
By the time they made it into the library, Natsu and Happy dropped the ninja act and started to destroy the place looking for the book. So after what at this point would be considered destruction of property, Kato eventually found the book they were looking for.
"Is this the book you are looking for Ms. Lucy?" Kato asked handing it over to her master.
"It's Daybreak!" Lucy said accepting it.
"It's been that long already?" Happy asked.
"No way! This book was written by Kemu Zaleon!" Lucy said with great excitement as she went over it.
"Oh good let's burn it!" Natsu said ready to finish the mission already.
"No way! This must be one of his unpublished books and as one of his biggest fans I have to read it!" Lucy argued.
"Big sis you're doing it again. Besides haven't you read all of his books?" Shirou asked sweat dropping at the sight of his sister acting her age.
"Shirou you're too young to understand." Lucy said.
"I live with an author. How do I not understand. Besides, Natsu says we should burn it in order to complete our mission so let him burn it." Shirou said.
"And as your big sister, the missions changed." Lucy said back.
"Boyoyoyo! I have found... oh wrong room." they heard a voice say in the distance. "Boyoyoyoyo! Here you are and... wrong room again." said the same voice. Then finally Everlue popped from the ground like a mole facing the wrong direction, "Now!... am I still in the wrong room? I swear that must have been a real ninja I saw." he said.
"Over here Jared the sandwich guy." Shirou called out earning snickers for referencing the formerly overweight man who ate nothing, but sandwiches to lose weight. He was also have been said to be arrested for illegal things related to small children and with a face like that, Everlue might be guilty of doing the same with young women.
Everlue turned around and turned red from anger at the insult aimed towards him, "I knew you were here to steal something." he said pointing at Lucy who was clutching the book.
"See we could have burned the book, but you decided to take to long Luigi." Natsu said in a disappointed tone.
"It's Lucy!" Lucy yelled.
"Wait, you were just here for that dumb book?" he asked.
"Oh if you don't like it. Can I keep it?" Lucy asked with excitement in her face.
"No it's mine!" Everlue answered childishly.
"Greedy." Lucy replied with a huff.
"Shut up ugly." Everlue said picking his nose.
"Takes on to know one you tub of lard." Shirou said.
"Hey words hurt." Everlue said feigning pain.
"Is he serious?" Shirou asked.
"Anyways, I think it's time I introduced you to the Vanish brothers." Everlue said as a secret path revealed man with a bald head and another man with strange blue hair shaped as like X.
"Those guys are from Southern Wolves Mercenary guild." Happy said as he noticed their marks.
"Big sis, let Natsu burn the book already." Shirou said in no mood to fight.
"Maybe after I read it! I need to learn its secrets!" Lucy yelled as she ran out the door.
'Secrets, maybe there's a treasure map or something inside. I best find out for myself.' Everlue thought as he slowly sunk into the smashed floor. "You two take care of these pests while I look for the girl." he commanded.
"Happy you should go after Lucy and make sure she's safe." Natsu said.
"Aye sir!" Happy said going after Everlue in hopes of finding Lucy.
"We can take them, right Kato?" Shirou asked getting a nod.
"Hey I'm here too!" Natsu said furiously.
"Oh you're still here Nemu?" Shirou asked.
"My name is Natsu!" Natsu yelled not realizing the irony.
"Whatever, you wizards are all the same you. While you train your minds. We train our bodies!" said the elder brother dashing at Shirou who quickly flipped over the older brother and let him crash.
"You forget, you don't have to dedicate your entire mind to magic just to be a mage of any kind." Shirou said before manifesting his bow and firing an explosive one at the brother.
The younger brother was about to strike when he fell on his knee after Kato stabbed his leg and proceeded to punch and kick him around, "Not everyone here is a wizard either." she said continuing her assault.
"Hey I want to fight too!" Natsu yelled when all of a sudden a giant woman with pink pigtails popped from under the floor.
"Master Everlue wants you gone!" she said punching the floor under him almost getting Natsu.
"Holy crap Shirou you were right! He did hire a gorilla!" Natsu said astonished at what the boy mentioned earlier.
"Hold still you brat!" yelled the older brother trying to punch Shirou and instead took a kick to the face.
"I thought that was rumor!" Shirou said surprised by the goliath going after Natsu.
"I just hope Ms. Lucy is doing fine on her own." Kato said avoiding the frying pan weapon that was wielded by the younger brother.
"Look towards heaven and I strike from the earth." said the younger sibling as he tried to hit Shirou.
"Look towards Earth and we strike down from heaven." said the older sibling trying to attack the boy from above.
Shirou smirked as he disappeared and reunited with Kato. With the former's help, Kato jumped high into the air tossing several kunai and shuriken before disappearing in the middle of thin air. The younger brother blocked all the projectiles with his frying pan going over his agility and how it was a futile attempt as he sent the weapons back at Shirou who also disappeared.
"Kato let's end this!" Shirou said reappearing in the air.
The ninja also reappeared and nodded, "Mechanical Illusionary Art - Bull Swallowing!" she said as a vacuum blade started sucking them in close.
"I can't reflect it! It's not directly attacking us!" the younger brother said.
The wind vacuum crushed them and then sent them flying into the golden statue of Everlue. Contrary to certain beliefs, wind attack are pretty deadly if you know how to use them. In this case, the brothers were covered in cuts and the force alone caused the statue to fall on them destroying most of the center of the mansion.
"That will teach them." Shirou said dusting his hands off.
"We should go look for Lucy." Natsu spoke up revealing that the pink haired maid was down on the ground.
As the group went to look for her, they didn't notice the maid's eyes spark revealing she was still conscious and ready to keep fighting.
With Lucy
The blond girl was hiding in the catacombs going over Daybreak's contents quickly using her Gale Force Reading Glasses in order to further understand the book and find any hidden meanings or messages. After all, it was a book written by her favorite author so it wouldn't hurt to see what he left before his untimely death. As far as she knew, the author had left some sort of message behind.
"Amazing, I knew this book held some sort of secret." before Lucy said anything else.
The Holy Maiden rolled away as a large hand bursted from the wall behind her. Everlue revealed himself with his signature creepy grin as he tried to reach for her.
"Secrets don't make friends you know." Everlue said.
"I won't allow a man like you to know the secrets of this literary art! You're an enemy of literature itself!" Lucy proclaimed.
"Enemy of literature? My massive collection of books and art only prove I'm culture's greatest friend!" Everlue said dashing after Lucy.
"Says the man with his ugly maid collection." Lucy said jumping over him.
"How dare you mock them? They are the very definition of beauty." Everlue argued. "What secret does it hold. Let me guess there's a hidden treasure map inside. Tell me or I will snap you like a toothpick." he threatened.
Lucy tilted her head and stuck out her tongue infuriating him.
"I commissioned this book's very creation. Therefore any secrets it holds is rightfully my property!" Everlue yelled trying to pounce at Lucy only for Happy to suddenly appear and kick him in the face.
"Happy!" Lucy called out only for the cat to fall into the sewer water. Turning her attention back to greedy man she pulled out a gold key, "If you allow me to keep this book. I will consider showing mercy. Although I'm very tempted to punish you properly." she said.
Everlue smirked and used his diver magic to drill into the ground like a mole. Everytime he popped up, he would attempt to swipe at Lucy and take the book back or inflict harm on her. Along the way, Lucy called out the duke on his arrogance to which he admitted he forced Kemu Zaleon to write his story. Everlue never really cared about Kemu's health so long as the man had the honor of writing the novel. By threatening the man to lose his citizenship and locking him in a prison cell to write.
In the end, Everlue's ego was boosted and felt happy that a book about him was created at all. He asks how Lucy knows that much to which she reveals that Kemu was a wizard at one point and casted a spell on the book. Which infuriated the evil duke and that his abuse was revealed inside the book, but isn't the main topic. The topic itself was sensitive and more personal.
Having enough with talking, Lucy pulled out her gold key again, "Open, gate of the Giant Crab! Cancer!" she invoked revealing a hairdresser with the crab gimmick around his hands, legs on his back and a strange hairstyle.
"Cancer. Ha." said the celestial spirit.
"A giant crab!" Happy cheered as drool came out of his mouth.
"Hey Lucy, how would you like your hair done today, baby?" Cancer asked.
"I need you take care of the bald man for me instead if you could Cancer." Lucy answered pointing at Everlue.
"Whatever you say, baby." Cancer said while everyone ignored Happy.
"You should send him back Lucy." Happy said thinking Cancer was useless.
"Hey Happy want to hear a joke?" Lucy asked.
"Sure why not." Happy answered.
"What's the difference between celestial spirits, heroic spirits and blue cats?" Lucy asked.
"I don't know." Happy said feeling intrigued.
"Nothing really, they're all useful no matter what you pick. So long as you skin the cat and make a handbag out of what's left." Lucy said in a dark tone scaring him.
"That was cold baby." Cancer said forgetting that Dress of Heaven Lucy and regular Lucy can often mix depending on her mood.
Meanwhile Everlue was panicking about the magic council learning the truth about how he made his magic. At least, that's what he assumed Kemu wrote down in his book. Only more motivation to steal the book back. Seeing that he was in a tight spot, Everlue also pulled out a gold key.
"Open, gate of the maiden! Virgo!" he invoked revealing the giant maid.
"Did I hear my master summon me?" she asked coming from out of the ground.
"Virgo, fetch me that book." Everlue ordered.
Before anyone else said anything, Natsu suddenly appeared hanging onto Virgo, "What is the meaning of this?" Everlue demanded.
"How did you get there?" Lucy asked.
"She was getting up and jumped then all of a sudden I'm right here." Natsu answered.
"That's impossible! That would mean you passed through the spirit gate with her!" Lucy said losing her mind.
"Lucy what do I do?" Natsu asked.
"Finish what you started!" Lucy ordered.
"Fire Dragon Roar!" Natsu chanted as he blew a steam of fire from his mouth at Virgo.
Lucy quickly dashed at Everlue and proceeded to beat him senseless with her staff and sent him to Cancer who finished him off and shaved his head. Leaving the man in a state of unconscious shock with that smile still plastered on his face. Realizing all the fighting caused heavy damage to the foundation. So after making a run for it, the group met up with Shirou and Kato who escaped.
Natsu complimented the two on a good day of work. Although Happy admitted that Fairy Tail isn't supposed to be destroying things.
The mission ended with Lucy explaining the truth about the book along with an explanation from Kaby explaining his hatred for the book. He blamed his father for leaving his family for three years and then Kemu died shortly after amputating his arm. Lucy stopped the older man from burning the book as the spell on the book changed the title.
Dear Kaby
The book's contents revealed Kemu's masterpiece and last letter to his son revealing it was Kemu's best work. Now that the spell was broken, Kaby was left with a last will and testament as well as a lovely memory from his deceased father. Then Natsu declined the reward claiming they didn't complete the mission although it was for semantics. It also turned out Kaby and his wife weren't rich and it was just a facade
Natsu decided to tease Lucy later about the papers on her desk claiming she was an aspiring writer. Lucy looked unfazed and didn't care while Shirou explained that Lucy is a real writer and goes by a pen name they refuse to tell him. And that the papers were from an unfinished story she was working on. Leaving Natsu's curiosity satisfied although disappointed that lucy waved off her hobby.
A few days later, Fairy Tail guild hall
Lucy worried about finding a job to pay for rent which is due in a week leaving Shirou excited about a new mission. Mirajane also explained the long process of how the guilds, council and government are all balanced out. After hearing the long explanation, Natsu wanted to team up with Lucy and Shirou again claiming they were nice. Gray was being arrogant to which annoyed Shirou since he was naked again.
Then that creepy guy, Loke, was flirting with Lucy again. Loke backed off before Shirou was ready to fire an explosive arrow up his behind. Apparently the cassanova was scared shittless of celestial wizards and proceeded to hop away from Lucy seeing this revelation. The man ran off acting like they broke up claiming that fate was cruel.
Suddenly Natsu crashed into Lucy which annoyed her to no end as he continued his fight with Gray.
"Will the two of you just knock it off already?" Lucy asked feeling very annoyed.
"Natsu is the one who started it. I'm just following through." Gray said.
"Well you are the one who was provoking me." Natsu said before they started trading insults.
Lucy's eyes began to twitch as her magical energy started to cover her body. Shirou noticed that look in Lucy's eyes and proceeded to hide behind Mirajane who was confused.
"What's wrong Shirou?" Mirajane asked.
"Big sis gets really scary when she's like that." Shirou said as he somehow became a chibi and held onto her dress like a lifesaver.
"It can't be that bad." Mirajane said before suddenly the air felt cold and a giant circle of black fire appeared around Lucy.
Everyone started shaking at the sight as Lucy's hair turned white and her eyes became gold. Her dress of heaven became black and red, removing all signs of purity and innocence of its original color design. Finally the crown had a large purple circle like it was a vortex to another dimension and the scariest part was her was her demeanor. Lucy's face started twitching as her smile became a terrifying grin.
Everyone was sweating heavier than large man in the middle of the desert. It only got worse as each footstep was no longer a click on her heel. It was like the sound of a giant making their way towards them only they were frozen in place and had nowhere to run. Lucy looked at Natsu and Gray making slowly turn into ice as she smiled at them.
"Now now, this isn't how friends treat each other is it?" Lucy asked in a tone you would expect from a mother.
"What? We're not fighting. We're hanging out like good friends." Gray said as the ice slowly melted and started flooding the floor along with everyone else's sweat.
"Aye!" Natsu said.
"He's talking like Happy again!" Mirajane squealed.
Lucy turned her head to look around, "You know, as much a I love how lenient and grandfatherly Master Makarov is. He is too soft hearted to discipline you as Mirajane is the same. So I believe the task now falls onto me." she said in a sweet tone that made everyone feel like there was a needle close to their throats ready to turn into a butcher knife.
"Um Lucy..." Mirajane tried to call out only to be handgagged by Shirou who climbed her shoulders.
"No Mira, it will only make her angry." Shirou pleaded making her nod.
Lucy turned to Cana who felt like she was ready to shatter, "Cana, please go easy on the alcohol dosage and consider changing your attire. It is unlady like to drink heavily as well as exposing yourself." she said.
"Yes ma'am!" Cana said tossing the beer barrel away and getting a glass of water instead.
"Vijeeter, as much as I believe in expressing one's self. A guild hall is not a dance hall. Please do that outside." Lucy requested with an eye smile.
"Yes ma'am!" he said running only to see her smile slowly going away forcing him to slow down and walk.
Lucy smiled again before looking at Wakaba, whose pipe began to catch fire, "Wakaba, that is a bad habit. You should discard as it will affect your health." she suggested.
"Yes ma'am!" he said putting the fire out and threw away the pipe.
"Nab, please choose a job. We all work because we have our own expenses to pay. Don't pressure yourself dear." Lucy said.
"Yes ma'am!" Nab said grabbing a few flyers and sitting down quietly.
Lucy set her eyes to Macao who managed to keep calm the whole time despite the sweat drenched into his clothing, "Macao... hmm. Please see me later. We have much to talk about involving your behavior as well." she said.
"She could at least say it now." Macao muttered as he carefully sat back down.
'She makes Erza look like a peppy cheerleader!' everyone minus Shirou thought at once.
Lucy turned her head towards Mirajane who also looked calm until she met Lucy's gaze. The once tomboy like mage that everyone feared soon feared for her own life as the former blond looked at her. Although it wasn't Mirajane that Lucy was concerned with, it was the little boy who was keeping her quiet.
"Come to big sis Shirou." Lucy said extending her arms.
Shirou whimpered as he got off of Mirajane and slowly made his way to Lucy.
"That's a good boy. I'm so happy you are much more obedient unlike all the adults here." Lucy said as she picked him up and patted his back.
"I love you big sis." Shirou whispered as Lucy's dress reverted to its original colors.
Lucy blinked her eyes several times before forgetting what she was mad about, "Did I do it again?" she asked.
"SHE FORGOT!?" everyone yelled.
Then suddenly Loke slammed the door open, "I got bad news! It's Erza! She's on her way here!" he yelled with urgency in his voice.
Everyone was silent, "So?" someone asked like it was old news.
"And she's right behind me!" Loke yelled only for everyone to look unfazed.
That's when a red haired woman in a skirt and chest armor arrived carrying a giant horn.
"I have returned where is master Makarov?" Erza asked.
"She's pretty." Lucy complimented.
"Welcome back Erza, the master is at a conference." Mirajane answered.
"What is that?" asked a random guild member pointing at the horn behind Erza.
"It's the horn of a monster I defeated. The locals decorated it and gave it to me as a souvenir. Do you have a problem with it?" Erza asked in a challenging tone.
"Actually yeah, someone could smack into if they don't pay attention." the same guild member talked back.
"Yeah, it also obscures the view." said another.
"It doesn't fit in well with the decor. You should move it." said one more.
"So inconsiderate Erza. All you do is think about yourself." Gray said.
"Yeah, you're worse than Laxus." Natsu commented.
Erza felt dumbstruck at the sight of all the hostile and negative comments at her. Erza shook her head and snapped out of it.
"Anyways, while I was out on the road. I heard that Fairy Tail is causing trouble lately. Master Makarov may not care, but I most certainly do." Erza said as people looked away not caring about her speech.
Seeing this Erza decided to right the wrongs of the guild, "Cana, you need to control your... drinking?" she asked.
Cana was sitting sipping a glass of water while wearing a dress and sunhat (edolas Cana outfit), "A lady shouldn't be getting drunk now Erza." she said.
"Vijeeter, please take the dancing outside." Erza requested.
"He is outside." someone said surprising her.
"Wakaba, get rid of that filthy habit." Erza ordered.
"I don't smoke anymore." Wakaba replied nonchalantly surprising her.
"Nab, I suspect you..." Erza was cut off as Nab showed a flyer to Mirajane.
"I will take this mission." Nab told her.
"Macao..." Erza just stared at him.
"Erza if your not going to say anything, don't bother." Macao said ignoring her glare.
"Where are Natsu and Gray?" Erza asked and found the two chibi's holding each other in fear.
"Erza there's a really scary lady in the guild." Gray whispered.
"Aye!" Natsu said.
"Why does Natsu sound like Happy?" Lucy asked oblivious of her own actions.
Erza turned her head and noticed the new member and recognized her dress. Instead of showing another dumbstruck face, Erza decided to approach the recruit who was still holding Shirou like he was an infant.
"Excuse me are you a new recruit?" Erza asked.
"Yes I am, I'm Lucy and this is Shirou. We both joined the guild a few days ago." Lucy answered.
"Big sis can you put me down now?" Shirou asked nervously.
"Sure Shirou." Lucy said gently putting him down and ruffling his hair.
"You wouldn't happen to be the White Celibate of Purity would you?" Erza asked keeping calm after hearing about the powerful mage that's been destroying dark guilds for using black magic.
"Don't tell me that's what they've been calling me too?" Lucy asked with a groan.
"At least they've been calling you nice things big sis. I've been with you for over two years and I haven't gotten any recognition." Shirou pouted thinking his own skills were cool enough to warrant a reputation.
"So is that a yes?" Erza asked.
"Yes." Lucy answered sadly, but at least someone on Erza's level wouldn't be afraid of her... well Levy was another exception considering she was an avid fan of her short stories.
"Well it's nice to meet you Lucy. I hope we get to work together soon." Erza said looking indifferent although excited at the thought. "Anyways I need the two of you to accompany me on a mission of great importance." she said turning to Natsu and Gray.
Everyone began to whisper and murmur about the Titania asking for help. Although currently not fearing her, Erza was still a respectable and powerful wizard on her own. Hearing that, Mirajane claimed they would be the strongest team. Except a very unstable one that might not have the best dynamics.
"Lucy maybe you should go with them. To keep them in check and bring little Shirou so he can gain some experience." Mirajane suggested.
Lucy turned her head to see the pair fighting despite Erza telling them to knock it off, "Yeah maybe someone needs to keep tabs on the team dynamics." she said.
"Yeah! Another mission!" Shirou cheered.
The next day at the train station
True to Mirajane's beliefs, Natsu and Gray were still acting like they were good friends knowing Lucy had to join on the mission. Since it would be a while before they remembered that Erza wasn't someone to mess with either. Shirou for his part was much more calm knowing his adoptive sister was much more calmer than she was earlier.
Their thoughts were put aside as Erza arrived with a wagon full of bags. Lucy and Shirou could only imagine what the red head was carrying in those bags and why bring so much. Regardless, they all entered the train and took their seats to settle in for a long ride. Well in Natsu's case, feel like death and bare the agonizing pain of motion sickness.
To solve this, had Gray trade seats with Natsu before punching him in the stomach and knocking the poor fire user out. Leaving everyone else wondering how exactly that was supposed to help Natsu.
"So are you going to fill us in on the mission Erza?" Gray asked now that Natsu would stop complaining about the train.
"From what I overheard, a group of men were talking about the unsealing of a cursed magical item known as Lullaby." Erza answered.
"The flute that was said to have been modified by the dark mage Zeref?" Lucy asked.
"That's right." Erza answered.
"How do you know Lucy?" Gray asked.
"My big sis has been all over the place pervert. Just because she's an older kid than me, it doesn't mean she doesn't know about old magic." Shirou said earning a sneer from Gray.
"That's right, it was only the first year into my travels that I learned about Zeref and the black magic dark guilds were trying to harvest and use. Thanks to a certain maiden, many of those guilds were forcefully disbanded or collapsed." Lucy said with a smirk.
"So you know about the flute's properties then?" Erza asked.
Lucy nodded, "Originally, it was meant to curse the user with death, but when Zeref got his hands on it, he cursed it for the user to spread genocide towards their audience. Talk about making a killing. So, do you know who has this flute or who is trying to get to it Erza?" she asked.
"Erigor of the dark guild, Eisenwald, is planning on taking this flute for reasons I don't know yet. I'm planning on having this team confront him at his guild as well as disposing of the flute to prevent the massacre he could inflict." Erza answered.
"Wasn't that the guy who cared about money through assassinations only?" Shirou asked.
"Yes Shirou and psychopaths like him are the reason guilds are forced to shut down. Only I heard its one of the many I wasn't able to get to." Lucy answered.
"So much for a Holy Maiden. I thought it was your job to wipe them out from what I hear." Gray said in a mocking tone.
"And I thought guilds had standards. So why did they let a pervert like you into the guild?" Shirou asked earning another glare.
"I like that kid." Natsu muttered as he was only able to hear the insult.
"Besides, what kind of magic do you do? All I've seen so far is you cancelling our magic and doing your weird transformations." Gray asked wondering what made this girl so terrifying on the battlefield.
"I would like to know to. I heard you have an amazing ability to summon weapons in the air and use them as projectiles. They were so powerful that they could peirce the most durable armor." Erza commented as she was intrigued by the rumors of someone having a similar power as hers.
"That last one isn't my power. It's Shirou's." Lucy said making them go wide eyed.
"You're saying this kid can summon weapons?" Gray asked pointing at the red head.
"I don't summon weapons. I make them." Shirou answered.
"You can make them? How does it work?" Erza asked.
"I use an ability called "Trace On" which lets me make weapons and amplify whatever I'm holding to be more durable. It also lets me copy weapons that already exist, but they're a bit weaker and can't compare to the real deal if they have magical abilities." Shirou explained.
"Can you make a sword for me then?" Erza asked.
"Yeah, but it breaks or disappears after a while since it's not naturally made. One of the heroic spirits makes fun of me because he thinks I'm just copying his power." Shirou said sadly.
"But you're still stronger than him Shirou. Gilgamesh is just a jerk with no friends outside of Enkidu." Lucy said cheering him up.
"Can I still show Erza my power big sis?" Shirou asked hoping to prove himself.
"Sure Shirou, make any design you want." Lucy encouraged.
Erza and Gray watched as Shirou stuck his hand out as several green grids appeared slowly creating some sort of carbon object. Within less than a minute, a hilt was made followed by a blade creating a long beautifully designed sword floating in the air. Although they didn't show it, Erza and Gray were stunned by the sign of foreign magical energy that was emitted from the sword.
"That's cool, but does it work in a fight?" Gray asked still doubting the kid.
"Yeah, but its not as strong as the real Excalibur. Artoria showed me when she was teaching me how to use a sword and it shattered before the real one." Shirou answered wishing he could go beyond his limits.
"Excalibur? As in the sword of legends?" Erza asked putting her hands under the sword as it fell.
"Yeah, Artoria has the real one since the Lady of the Lake gave it to her in the past life." Shirou answered making them look confused.
"My servants he means. All of my heroic spirits are completely different from my celestial spirits. Like in their titles, they're the spirits of ancient heroes remembered through history and mythology." Lucy explained confusing them further.
"So you're basically a haunted house full of ghosts than can fight on your command?" Gray asked.
"In a way, but they don't like being told what to do so I like building relationships with them." Lucy said before holding Shirou close to her.
"Shirou do you mind if I hang onto this for a while?" Erza asked.
"It's no problem Erza. I can make another if it breaks." Shirou answered as the train finally stopped at the station.
With that everyone who was conscious had got off the train. Shortly after leaving, everyone realized that Natsu was not conscious and was taken by the train. Erza reminded everyone that this was an urgent mission and they didn't have time leave him behind. Erza forcefully stopped the train using a switch connected to the rails after demanding physical punishment for not helping Natsu off the train.
Afterwards, the group all hitched a ride on a magic four wheeler. As they managed to find the train, it started to move again prompting Erza to increase the speed and catch up with it. The next thing anyone knew, Natsu fell out the window of the train and hit Gray face first causing Erza to crash.
"Are you two alright?" Erza asked the injured pair.
"Aye." Natsu murmured.
Natsu then complained about why they left him behind and Erza apologized by putting his head against her armor. Which hurt him physically rather than heal him emotionally. Natsu then mentioned that he was attacked by someone claiming to be from Eisenwald which caused Erza to hit the pink hair boy. Leaving everyone confused as to how Erza felt about Natsu.
Natsu then mentioned he was unaware of the mission which left Erza angry about him not paying attention. Lucy quickly intervened and mentioned that Erza knocked him out, but for some reason, stayed awake to see Shirou insult Gray. Happy claimed that's just how Erza acts.
Everyone continued their mission as Erza reminded everyone that Lullaby is death magic, but on a genocide level scale.
Meanwhile, at the wizard guild masters conference
"I'm jealous, Makky. Your wizards are full of life and they're such cutie pies." said Bob, master of the Blue Pegasus guild. "I hear you've got a girl that gave some big shot quite the spanking." he said in his sassy tone.
Makarov smirked, "Oh, you must be talking about Lucy. She's our newest recruit and has a body that won't quit." he said.
"Oh, so naughty!" Bob said while covering his eyes.
"I wouldn't be joking around if I were you, Makarov." said Goldmine, master of the Quatros Cerberus guild. "Your wizards may be free spirit, but you gotta admit they go overboard sometimes. The council is worried that they're going to destroy an entire city one of these days." he mentioned.
"Oh let those blowhards worry. What do I care? They're just jealous my wizards are hot!" Makarov claimed.
"Oh Makky, you shouldn't talk about your little wizards that way." Bob said before a messenger bird arrived with a message from Mirajane.
"Hi master, I'm glad you made it to the conference safe and sound." said the holographic Mirajane.
"See? This honey's our poster girl, Mirajane. Grab some eye candy boys." Makarov said as he heard the whistling from all around.
"Oh master, you're not going to believe what happened. It may be the greatest thing in the history of Fairy Tail. Erza, Natsu and Gray have all teamed up. Amazing combination, huh? In fact, I sent Lucy and Shirou with them, so I think I formed the strongest team Fairy Tail's ever seen. Sorry to bother you, but I just had to send a quick note to tell you the exciting news. See you soon master!" Mirajane finished.
Makarov was about to have a heart attack at the news. Only he stopped the moment he heard Lucy was there. She was the Holy Maiden, the Celibate of Purity, the White Holy Sorceress, a female Archangel of God himself. You would have to be a cruel and sadistic deity to not allow her to prevent any form of destruction those three could cause.
"What's got you so happy Makky?" Bob asked.
"I remembered I have an angel from god watching over my guild's greatest liability!" Makarov said making everyone sweatdrop.
There was no way they could destroy a city now.
Back with the gang
Happy was wondering about something he was supposed to tell Lucy while the blond girl and her brother were trying to keep Natsu from jumping out of the vehicle. Muttering something about Lucy being weird or something as they approached Oshibana station. Upon arrival, Erza proceeded to punch out every guard that refused to answer her questions. Eventually they figured out that Eisenwald was inside.
Making their way inside, they saw the army was crushed and didn't stand a chance against the dark guild. Speaking of which, Erigor and his thugs were all waiting for them at the end of the hall.
Seeing him, the so called reaper claimed that with anarchy he can be the new ruler of kingdom. He would be able to accomplish that by using the speakers of the train station and playing Lullaby's song to cause the deaths of the masses waiting right outside of the train station. With that, Erigor took off and Erza ordered Natsu and Gray to go after him only to be followed by Rayule and Kageyama who want to stop them.
That left Erza, Happy, Shirou and Lucy behind to deal with the rest of the Eisenwald guild. Erza summoned a sword in the middle of thin air and started cutting down the members of Eisenwald.
"Big sis, she has the same power as I do." Shirou said in awe.
"Not exactly Shirou, Erza has the magic power "Requip" which lets her store weapons in a pocket dimension. She can take out any weapon as well as switching between them." Happy explained.
"That's pretty cool too." Shirou said.
"You ain't seen anything yet." Happy said.
"Well I think it's time for us to join the fight." Lucy said.
"Why do you have to steal the spotlight from her?" Happy complained.
"Listen Happy, big sis isn't exactly the type that wants to be useless. If you want a useless heroine, I heard there's a village with a pink haired girl with green eyes. I think you might like her, she pretty much just stands around yelling and belittling blonds. You should probably go, I mean you aren't exactly doing anything here." Shirou explained making the cat shut up and reevaluate his life.
(A/N: I don't want to be a jerk to Happy, but sometimes he needs to learn to shut up.)
"I'm sorry." Happy said sadly.
"Shirou! You're not supposed to be mentioning that story! We are not doing that right now!" Lucy yelled as she summoned three servants.
Before her stood Diarmuid, Billy the Kid and Lancelot, "What are your orders ma'am?" they all asked.
"I need you three to help me fight these thugs. They're protecting a dangerous criminal attempting a mass murder." Lucy answered making them nod.
"Yee haw! We got us some varmants to round up boys!" Billy said pulling out his guns.
"Grrr!" Lancelot growled as he charged at the massive group and began to slice through them like a landscape artist.
Diarmuid proceeded to take out each one that came too close to him with an absurd speed. The chivalrous man would also catch a few stragglers that snuck up on Billy while the outlaw was busy shooting anyone that wasn't already down or being used as a ragdoll by Lancelot. Shirou quickly going and fired an explosive arrow in the middle creating a large crater among them.
"I can't let them have all the fun." Lucy said with a smile as she changed into the dress of armor.
The dark guild members had hearts in their eyes a the sight of the outfit. This annoyed Lucy and she showed them her palm which shot several spheres of light at them causing many explosions along the way.
"You have a requip spell too?" Erza asked with a smile that said she was interested in learning about her comrade's abilities.
"Not exactly, I just have a spiritual link to this dress." Lucy answered as she kicked another man in the face and avoided a punch.
Billy shot a man in front of Erza, "Well I can do the same only they're various sets of armor I carry." she said as she switched to her Heaven's Wheel Armor.
After that, the servants and Shirou stepped back as both girls went at it and destroyed the guild members. Finally one crazy guy thought he could take them both down with his magic involving his hands glowing.
"Wait Bryard! That's Titania Erza and the White Holy Sorceress!" yelled a large man only for Bryard to be cooked by a beam of energy.
The large man ran out in fear, "Lucy, you should go..." Erza was stopped as Lancelot gave her a bouquet of flowers and bowed his head. "Why is he...?"
"He heard Titania and thinks you're a fairy. In his legend, Lancelot was raised by fairies after his parents died. So seeing you as a queen, he highly respects you." Lucy explained as the Berserker nodded.
Erza almost blushed at the sight, "Regardless, you should go after that man." she ordered.
"Right, let's go Shirou. Lancelot, you stay here with Erza in case anymore of them show up." Lucy said as four of them took off after Karacka.
Shortly after they left, Lancelot caught Erza in his arms who almost fell, "I'm sorry, I used too much magical energy on the four wheeler." she said. "Please help me Lancelot, I need to warn the citizens outside." she pleaded.
The Knight of the Lake nodded and proceeded to help her up.
A while later (yes, I know timeskips are annoying)
After regrouping and capturing Kageyama, the group learned about Erigor's real plans to wipe out the guild masters at their conference. The group was trapped in a wind tornado and Natsu was using all his bruteforce to break it down.
"Can you break it down with your ice Gray?" Shirou asked.
"No, do you think you or Lucy can stop it with your own magic?" Gray asked.
"I don't think so, Natsu is physically stronger than us and many of the servants so bruteforce is out." Shirou answered sadly.
"I'm not sure if any of the heroic spirits have a specific way to deal with this. Even if one did, it might be awhile before I find one that suits the job." Lucy added.
"Wait, what about your celestial spirits? They can teleport from one place to another right?" Natsu asked.
"Natsu, even if that worked, they only appear wherever I'm standing." Lucy answered.
"You're totally confusing me." Natsu said.
"It's like trying to open a door that's painted on a wall. Gray is so much smarter than you Natsu." Shirou said.
"Hey I like this kid already!" Gray said patting him on the back.
"Shirou you traitor!" Natsu barked.
Happy screamed, "Lucy I remember now what I wanted to tell you. Virgo wanted me to give you her key." he said revealing it. "Apparently the contract was broken when Everlue was arrested. So she gave it to me to give to you to sign a new contract." he said.
"Wait a minute, that gorilla lady can dig holes! Maybe she can dig us out." Shirou spoke up.
"Aye!" Happy said.
Lucy took the key and called out for Virgo, "I call upon thee, in the world of the celestial spirits. And now, I beckon you to my side at once. Pass through the gate. Open Gate of the Maiden. Virgo!" she chanted revealing a beautiful young lady jumping through the ground in a maid's uniform.
"You summoned mistress? What can I do for you?" Virgo asked.
"You're not a gorilla." Shirou said.
"Virgo, were you not much bigger when we last met?" Lucy asked.
"I am a very loyal spirit. So I try to take on whatever form I think my wizard will find most appealing." Virgo answered.
"I'll ask later, for now can we work out the details of our contract later. I need assistance with escaping the vortex." Lucy said.
"It will be done mistress." Virgo said as she dug a hole leading outside of the train station.
"Ok, I will talk to her about naming later." Lucy said as she lead everyone down including Kageyama who was being helped by Natsu who wanted to be merciful.
The moment they were out, Virgo proceeded to lower Lucy's skirt as her panties were almost revealed. The dress of Heaven really was a pain in terms of how much of her body was revealed. Ironically, the wind caused Virgo's skirt to go up revealing her panties to Gray who blushed at the sight and remained paralyzed at the sight.
No one noticed Natsu take of with Happy as he used his flames to make the blue cat's flight speed increase tenfold. With that, he was able to catch up with Erigor and challenge him to a fight. It wouldn't be too long before the group settled back into the four wheeler and followed the train tracks hoping they would lead to Erigor and most likely Natsu who run head first into fighting the man.
As they predicted, it was true. Erigor was found defeated and the Lullaby flute was on the ground like discarded trash. Congratulation were in order and everything, but due to a lack of perception. Kageyama found a new resolve in himself and picked up the discarded magical item and stole the flute hoping to complete his defeated master's plan.
Not letting them beat themselves up for their stupidity, Lucy summoned Iskander and Astolfo to her side and asked them to help take the group to Clover. Nightfall came and they arrived at the last second to see Makarov looking at Kageyama who for some reason, was too hesitant to play his flute. After his constant yapping about Erigor not being defeated and the plan being successful.
The shadow user fell on his hands and knees surrendering and dropping the flute. However, the danger was far from over as the three eyes of the skull on the flute turned purple and began to laugh in a demonic tone.
"I've grown tired of you cowardly wizards and your antics!" it yelled as a giant magic circle appeared in the night sky. "I can no longer hold back! I shall come forth and devour you myself!" it yelled when suddenly a giant sentient made of wood appeared. "I shall feast upon your pitiful souls!" it threatened.
"Ok how do we kill it?" Shirou asked drawing his twin blades.
"Erigor never said anything about a monster!" Kageyama yelled out.
"It must be a demon from the book of Zeref." Goldmine said.
The colossus looked around with a great big grin on its seemingly lifeless face.
"How did it become a monster?" Lucy asked.
"That's what Lullaby's true form look like in the flesh. It's forbidden black magic. Living magic is Zeref's specialty." Goldmine answered.
The beast looked down on team Natsu, "Now then, which of these delectable souls shall I dine on first?" Lullaby asked.
"Do you think souls are really tasty?" Natsu asked.
"Why are you always thinking about food!?" Shirou asked slowly losing respect for the older boy.
"Yeah Natsu, how am I supposed to know what a soul tastes like anyways?" Gray asked.
Meanwhile the Fiore army arrogantly charged at the wooden demon. Lullaby proved its power by destroying blowing up a mountain. The army then decided to retreat seeing its massive power in action. Lullaby was disgusted by the cowards and instead focused on the wizards seeing as it craved powerful souls to devour. To which Natsu challenged it.
"Bring it on big guy! I'd like to see you try!" Natsu yelled.
"Good luck!" said all the other guild masters.
"Can those three really defeat Lullaby on their own?" Lucy asked.
"You should help!" Happy suggested.
"That's... actually solid advice for once Happy. Ok, so we have a giant behemoth from an old time where a dark mage can practically create demons. Now who's a good idea to summon?" Lucy asked while trying to keep her composure.
"A giant bull man!" Happy said.
"That's not a thing. If you mean Asterios, no he's too small and his power is for smaller units." Lucy said.
"Well we better hurry. That thing won't hold still for long." Shirou said.
"I think Natsu's got it!" Happy said.
Natsu used his fire magic to punch Lullaby in the face while Gray tried to freeze and Erza trying to cut it. Lullaby began to scream in rage as it began to suck up all the life around it killing the plants. Lullaby began to power up its music, but no one noticed the smirks on the faces of Makarov, Goldmine and Bob. In the moment of truth, Lullaby began to squeak and make disturbing wheezes making the intense moment not so serious.
"What just happened?" Shirou asked.
"Nothing happened!" Happy answered as he along with many others were dumbstruck.
"I don't understand. Why can't I play my melody of death?" Lullaby asked with a shocked face.
"It must be because of all of those attacks." Kageyama answered seeing as there was a bunch of holes and cracks all over the creature.
"So now it can't play any sounds now." Lucy said.
"That means it won't release its true potential." Shirou said.
"Flutes are pretty lame to begin with." Happy said.
"You dare mock me?" Lullaby asked before destroying a mountain revealing it was still a threat.
"Wait, I just remembered something. Big sis I know who you should summon." Shirou said as he whispered it into Lucy's ear.
Suddenly Lullaby aimed a wave of fire at them only for Gray to defend everyone with a giant shield of ice with his Ice Make magic. It was enough time for Lucy to invoke two heroic spirits to the field. One of them approached Gray and patted his shoulder.
"You've done good, but let us show you how the King of Heroes and his companion deal with this." said the man.
"Who the heck are you?" Gray asked turning to see a blond man with red eyes.
"I am King Gilgamesh and that is my good friend Enkidu!" Gilgamesh answered as he pointed to his green haired friend who who flying into the sky with several chains right behind him.
Enkidu smiled as Lullaby was in his crossair, "The evocation is the breath of the planet. I will walk together with the humans. Therefore, O Humans, Let Us Restrain the Gods!" Enkidu chanted as the chains collided to become a powerful drill shape that crashed through Lullaby's chest while restrain its neck, arms and legs.
"My turn." Gilgamesh said pushing Gray aside and going past the flames as Natsu ate them.
Gilgamesh looked over the downed creature and grinned as a golden portal appeared and gave him a key shaped sword. Gilgamesh used it to open a locking mechanism before another golden portal appeared replacing the key with another sword that looked like a black rotating cylinder with red gridded line all over it.
"I speak of the beginning. Heaven and earth are divided and nothingness celebrates Creation. My Sword of Rupture rends the world apart." he chanted as the weapon started to emit red lightning before showering Lullaby with a giant beam of energy completely annihilating the demon of Zeref.
A giant dust cloud appeared and Lucy cleared it out with a simple wind blowing technique. Once it was over, they could see that two mountain tops were gone and the conference hall was destroyed.
"Wow we really are the strongest team!" Natsu cheered.
"Yup, that's why Fairy Tail is number one!" Makarov also cheered before noticing the destruction.
Makarov immediately had a heart attack and his soul started to come out, "Something's coming out of him." Happy said.
"Oh god, I should have let Artoria deal with it." Lucy said as she recalled Enkidu and Gilgamesh.
"Big sis, this is going to take hours." Shirou whined.
"What do you mean hours? There's a giant gaping crater thats no more than a couple hundred feet deep." Goldmind said.
"Just give me a couple hours." Lucy said taking off her crown and replacing it with a hard hat.
Three and a half hours later
Lucy finished putting the last nail in as Shirou made sure the last window was in place. Meanwhile, Paul Bunyan grew into a massive height and readjusted both mountain tops as Lucy flew to where he was to make sure they were connected properly.
"Thank you Paul. I'm really in your debt for this one." Lucy said.
"Its ok Ms. Lucy. I don't mind helping." Paul said before returning to her.
Meanwhile with the masters, everyone including Makarov had their jaws dropped at Lucy somehow fixing the whole mess they created. It's almost like nothing ever happened during the conference. Makarov bursted into tears as he ran towards Lucy and tackled her into a hug.
"Lucy you don't realize how grateful I am! Do you know how much I feared that these three would destroy a city!? I'm so glad that you joined Fairy Tail! Now the council can get off my back about destruction!" Makarov cried making Lucy sweat drop.
"Wow Lucy really did fix everything! Its brand new and unused and everything!" Happy said tapping the ground that was destroyed by Enuma Elish.
"Yeah! Lucy can fix everything we destroy!" Natsu cheered.
"I AM NOT HELPING CLEAN YOUR MESSES! NEXT TIME, YOU GUYS ARE HELPING TO CLEAN UP!" Lucy yelled even though it went ignored.
"My arms hurt." Shirou said as his outfit was covered in dirt from having to help with the construction.
"Well now I know who's been graciously repairing my guild hall lately." Makarov said cheerfully.
"Well now I know who to send the bill to." Lucy said before falling on her back.
Meanwhile, Natsu and Gray were fighting about who was more useful.
"I landed a hit on him! What were you doing?" Natsu asked.
"I was defending everyone and would have finished it off if Lucy didn't butt in!" Gray yelled.
"Like an ice queen like you could beat it!" Natsu insulted.
"Like a flame brain like you could even hurt it!" Gray yelled
"Snow ball!"
"Matchstick!"
"Snow cone!"
"Camp fire!"
They both continued to yell insults at each other until Natsu pushed Gray hard enough he hit Lucy who was being helped up by Shirou. Lucy's eyes started to twitch before her eyes changed to gold again.
"Big sis is mad!" Shirou yelled running away from everyone.
"Aye?" Natsu and Gray asked.
"They sound like me!" Happy yelled in fear.
"Happy why are you...?" Erza stopped as the temperature in the air dropped and she noticed shard of ice building up on the cheek of her face.
"What's going on?" Makarov asked he started to shake from how cold it was.
Lucy sat up and gave a large grin as she was surrounded by a circle of blue fire as her outfit changed to black and red again. Most of the guild masters started to shake at the presence of an unknown evil. Goldmine and Bob managed to steel themselves and watched as Lucy stood tall and approached Natsu and Gray.
"I see my words have no meaning to you. How unfortunate." Lucy said in a sweet voice.
"Now now, L-Lucy W-we're just having a s-small quarrel." Gray stuttered.
"A-aye!" Natsu said.
Lucy put a finger up her mouth in thinking pose, "I see, clearly Erza hasn't done much better than Master Makarov. Do you what she does wrong boys?" she asked.
Both shook their heads, "We don't know." they answered as they became scared little chibi versions of themselves.
"There are three parts of a person boys. The body, mind and soul and clearly, Erza has too much faith in corporal punishment. If we are to expect you two to learn, I have to get it through your mind that what you two are doing is wrong." Lucy explained.
"L-Lucy w-we s-swear w-we won't do it again!" Gray promised as he stuttered.
"A-a-aye!" Natsu said.
"Run!" Happy yelled as he took off to the sky.
Lucy lifted them both up by their shirts and dragged them across the ground, "Master Makarov, I will return shortly after I finish with these two. Please collect Shirou and Happy by the time I return. For we will be leaving and arriving back at the guild by dawn." she said before her wings appeared only they were like ones of a raven rather than an angel as she took off with the fire and ice users.
"Please save us!" Gray yelled as he tried to break free of Lucy's grip.
"AYE!" Natsu yelled in fear.
"What was that?" Makarov asked still shaking.
"I think I found my perfect match." Erza said with an awe as she could still hear Natsu and Gray's pleads for help.
"Makky you sure have an interesting collection of wizards." Bob said holding his face.
"I don't think the council will have to worry about your guild destroying cities any time soon." Goldmine said paying very careful to the display.
"I should go look for Shirou and Happy." Makarov said hoping to avoid invoking the formerly blonde girl's wrath.
