Chapter 19 - Saving Edolas
With Lucy and Coco
After leaving the key in the hands of Gray who was with Natsu. Lucy took Shirou with her as she followed Coco after having healed her feet. the girl was grateful for the help and lead them to a dragon like monster she owned named Leegie. Apparently, these monsters are called Legions and function as transportation in the sky. Lucy and everyone else has not seen them before due to the fact that they are likely used by the military and possibly the wealthy. As Coco mentioned that the Legions are used for combat as well due to their speed and strength.
"And now we can pick up the boys." Lucy said as the Legion started to fly.
"Yeah, so long as King Faust doesn't get that key back. The Exceeds will be safe and Lily will survive." Coco said as she rode maneuvered the legion around.
"Yeah, then there's our Erza who's fighting the evil Erza!" Shirou adds.
"You know, I felt like I should have given her a Class card just in case. You never know what people like Knightwalker are capable of." Lucy said.
"You don't sound too faithful in your friends." Coco said.
Lucy sighed, "I am, it's just that we've faced some difficult and unnatural stuff lately. Just look at this whole mess." she said referring to the Edolas and Earthland situation.
"I'm sure Natsu and Gray are fine and Wendy is probably saving the Exceeds right now." Shirou said just as the legion crashed through the roof.
Just to find Gray putting the key into Faust's machine. Where the giant device charged up and fired a long chain in the shape of a dragon's skeleton. Where the chain blasted through the sky and aimed for the island where the giant lacrima was placed. It wouldn't be too long before it hits the island and tries to crash it against Extalia.
"I spoke too soon." Shirou said with a frown.
Just then, a half naked version of Erza came out of nowhere and attacked Knightwalker. It was confusing to say the least. Was that their Erza or was it a third Erza? Because Knightwalker was there and that other Erza was practically naked. Though it could be their Erza considering how Scarlet is a closet pervert. Just the other day, Levy told Lucy that Erza secretly keeps a stash of pornagraphy novels in her room.
"I'm the real Erza Knightwalker! That one is an impostor!" The half naked Erza yells.
"Well that helped clear things up." Shirou said.
"Guys!" Lucy yells, gathering her team's attention.
"Took you long enough Luce! We need to get out of here!" Natsu yells as he runs up to the Legion.
"Everyone grab onto Leegie!" Coco yells.
Despite the struggle with the Edolas Army trying to subdue them. Everyone managed to grab onto the dragon like creature and took off into the skies. Where they followed the giant chain back to the island where Gajeel was. Only to find it rapidly flying towards Extalia while leaving a giant trail of flames in it's wake.
"This plan could have gone much better." Erza Scarlet said.
"Why are you wearing that?" Lucy asked.
"I think that's the least of our problems. Hopefully your other friend managed to get the Exceeds off of the island." Coco said.
On Extalia
The Exceeds believed themselves to be a step below gods. With their queen being the closest thing to a god. Meaning that they were like angels and humans were just inferior monkeys. This made them very prideful and unlike the many prideful figures in history such as Gilgamesh. The Exceeds did not have the power to back up their arrogance. They believed they did, but all of these ceatures were weaker than small children.
Hence, they started pelting Wendy with rocks.
"Get out of here!" a random exceed yelled as Wendy is barraged by rocks.
"Everyone please stop! I'm trying to help you!" Wendy shouts.
"Get lost human! We don't fear you or your lies!" another exceed yelled.
"Knock that off! We are civilized people and yet you all choose to act like barbarians!" Charle said angrily. Someone then threw a rock at her head, "Who threw that!?" she asked angrily.
"Traitor! The Queen will smite you for your transgressions!" one of the exceeds yelled.
Wendy whimpered, "You leave me no choice!" she said as she activated a Class card. Granting her the powers of Astolfo, "I didn't want to do this!" she said before blowing on a large horn.
The horn was so loud that the closest exceeds stopped and covered their ears. All of them screaming and whimpering in pain as if Wendy released a sonic shriek. With the rest of the exceeds shaking in their fur as they vibrations were all over their body.
"This girl is a monster! Someone fetch the queen!" someone yelled.
Frankly enough, Astolfo is a capable fighter but he's fairly weak. While there are massive power houses in the Throne of Heroes such as Karna, Giglamesh, Abigail Williams and most versions of Artoria. There were also low tier heroic spirits such as Astolfo who struggled against more disciplined and serious spirits like Cu Chulain and Beowulf.
However, the exceeds have yet to realize that someone as weak as Astolfo could defeat them. Especially when it's someone as peace loving as Wendy was using that power.
"If you don't all calm down! I'm going to bust the other instruments! And Charle knows the Triangle, she'll hurt you real good!" Wendy threatens.
"Get back! The Fallen knows the Triangle!" one of the guards yell.
Charle sweat dropped, "How do people claiming to be close to the level of gods suddenly become terrified of the Triangle?" she asked.
"That's enough!" yelled a voice with great authority.
"The Queen is here!" someone announced as a tall and regal looking exceed had arrived to disperse the crowd.
The prestigious Queen Shagotte stood before all of her subjects with the elders flanking her from behind. Everyone gazed at their magnificent queen as she stood before Charle and Wendy. All of the exceeds hoping for their queen to smite or deliver a pain filled punishment towards Wendy and Charle. When they were just trying to warn the entire kingdom of Extalia about the potential destruction that Faust hopes to bring. Surprisingly, Shagotte was not here to fulfill everyone's expectations and harm the two like an angry pagan god.
"There will be no more conflict in my kingdom!" Shagotte announces.
"Queen Shagotte! Strike the human and fallen exceed with your mighty power!" a random exceed yells.
Shagotte shook her head and began to undress, "No your majesty! Please don't remove your robes!" another exceed pleads.
When Shagotte was finished, they were lucky to see that she still had clothes underneath. However it wasn't impressive at all, the tall exceeds's stature was a fake. She was merely another cat like everyone and while she did have a unique appearance like the elders. Shagotte did not have the typical appearance of a powerful sentient or even a god. She did not have flowing fur, magical power that leaked with every second she remained conscious or the physical build that can destroy mortals.
No, Shagotte was a normal exceed. One with only one wing.
"We are not as powerful as we say. I myself, as you can see, am I but a normal exceed." Shagotte said with great shame.
Sadly, the exceeds around her were still arrogant and thought this was a terrible joke. To hear that their beliefs were nothing but lies, fairy tales they were told as children. Their goddess just a woman sitting on a fancy throne. Not even one bit of power to make her superior to the humans that live below them all.
'Not even my wings are special. They have no unique power." Shagotte said as she flapped the single wing on her back. "We have two abilities and they involve Aero. One wing for containment and the other for flight." she said.
If Happy was here, he would likely be saddened. Not by the revelation, but by the fact he his biology won't let him become powerful without training hard. Oh well, Natsu is always open for some training with a with a partner.
"I am deeply sorry for deceiving you all for so many years." Shagotte said with great sorrow. "For many years, the humans have hated us and felt envious for our power when we can do so little with it. So one day, the elders spread rumors of our power during their youth. Leading to this day where we became revered as gods and angels." she finishes.
If anyone believed Natsu is a dense fool. They will see him as a genius if they witness the reactions of the exceeds.
"Lies!"
"Stop making up tales!"
"You are a goddess! You have to be!"
"Just destroy the island already! Your lies are hurting us!"
"I have told you lal the truth and yet here are two individuals. Both of whom risked their lives to warn you and yet you shun them!" Shagotte said.
Then Charle snapped, "Stop the deceit!" she yells.
"Charle." Wendy said solemnly.
"That does not excuse you from your actions! You implanted false memories into me and wanted me to slaughter my comrades!" Charle yells angrily.
"I'm sorry." Shagotte apologized.
Nadi tried to interject, "No you have it all wrong! It's really a long and complicated story! Really it…"
"Shut your mouth! I don't want to hear anymore! You lied to me and planned all of this…"
"Charle that's enough!" Wendy yells, surprising Charle.
"Wendy, you don't…"
"Charle, I think it's time for once in your life that you learnt to drop your pride, shut up and listen." Wendy said sternly. "I understand your mad. I'm scared and confused, but the real problem is right in front of us!" she exclaimed.
Everyone listened closely to Wendy.
"You are a bad listener Charle!" everyone face faulted. "The queen literally said exceeds only have two abilities. Except she only has one wing, how do you think she suddenly learned to mess with your head?" she asked.
Nadi nods, "That is true, she literally did just say that." He said.
"I'm afraid besides that, we can do what most bipedal creatures do as well." an elder adds.
"Then why was I told to kill the Dragon Slayers?" Charle asked.
"That's the complicated part! We were about to explain it when you rudely interrupted!" Nadi yells before they felt the heat coming from the floating island.
"Which we don't have time to listen to! Extalia is in danger and our friends are fighting to save it! So everyone needs to leave!" Wendy shouts, but everyone feels hopeless. "I know you're all sad and angry for the queen and everyone else for lying to you. You were all happy just the other day and living your lives, but that doesn't have to end." she said as the island could be seen moving closer.
Still, Wendy was sure she and Charle can at least motivate them.
"You all have the chance to live. Even if it's not with fancy titles or the respect you want. Me and my friends don't know any of you that well, but we're working out butts off to save you and the least you can do is save yourselves." Wendy said as she called for the Hippogriff. "Come on Charle, everyone else needs us." she said as she hopped onto the magical creatures back with Charle following.
Leaving Charle to think what Wendy said in her mind. It wouldn't be too long before a couple of exceeds decided to listen to Wendy's words. Before long, Nadi was right behind them.
"I'm not much help, but I won't let my home fall!" Nadi yells with tears in his eyes.
Soon enough, more exceeds start to follow him, "Charle, I think I got through to them!" Wendy exclaimed.
"Yes, perhaps you are the better leader among us." Charle said as they got closer to the island.
At the island
After having been hit by the Dragon Chain Cannon. The island quickly repelled itself towards Extalia. Surprisingly, Panther Lily didn't care much for his former home or his life as he was willing to follow the will of Faust. Which annoyed Gajeel to no end as he decided to put a stop to the craziness.
"Where do you think you are going!? Are you running away coward!?" Panther Lily asked angrily.
Gajeel snorted, "You wish, someone has to stop this." he said as he reached the edge of the island. "And also, when this is all over. I'm taking you back to Fairy Tail and making you my cat!" he adds as he wanted a feline partner too and Panther Lily had the strength to match Gajeel's desires.
Panther Lily looked awestruck by both proclamations that he never saw Happy and Tristan run after Gajeel. With the two using all of their strength to try and push back the island.
"Hey Tristan, what if you tie a rope to an arrow and I try to pull it back with the chariot?" Happy asked as he was still using Iskandar's Class card.
"Sir Happy, while it is creative. The physics will work against you and we do not have a rope that is strong enough to avoid snapping." Tristan answered.
The red haired knight was right. In fact, unless they had material that was as strong as the Dragon Chain. The rope or equivalent tool would just snap if Happy ties it to the chariot while trying to pull it back. Resulting in the speed force he used to make him fly in the opposite direction.
Luckily, Natsu's group finally arrived on the back of the Legion.
"Happy!" Natsu shouts.
"Natsu!" Happy cries out as he continues to push the island.
"Hang on!" Natsu yells as he activates a Class card.
He was soon followed by Erza and Gray who also equipped some Class cards as well. Natsu using Beowulf, Gray with Orion and Erza with Minamoto-no-Raikou and ending with Lucy jumping down to use her own strength. But not without summoning Bart, Blackbeard and Francis Drake who fired harpoons from their ships at the island and started to to pull on the island.
"Would those ropes work?" Happy asked.
"I think they might suffice." Tristan said as he started to sweat.
"It doesn't make this any more light!" Natsu yells.
"Just keep trying Natsu! We cannot let the lacrima be destroyed!" Erza yells as she uses all of Raikou's strength.
Meanwhile the pirates were trying to put all their strength in as well, "Why can't we just shoot the bloody chain!?" Blackbeard asked.
"It's a sturdy material Edward. Even so, we might hit the lacrima." Bart said.
"I would done it already if it meant we didn't hit the lacrima or the dumb cats." Francis said as she picked up a bottle of rum. Only to drop it as she heard her ship crack, "Okay, that chain is getting on my nerves!" she said.
"The blasted island is ripping my hull too!" Blackbeard yells.
Things looked bleak, but everyone did their best to push back the island or at least stop it in place. When suddenly, Wendy arrived with an army of exceeds behind her. Where the exceeds then started to help push back the island rather than escape their doomed home.
"What the heck? I thought you guys were gone by now." Lucy said.
"We can't abandon our home!" Nadi yells. "It's our duty to defend it! Not sit back and assume the best!" he yells as the exceeds put in all of their strength to help.
*CRUNCH*
"Hurry! My ship is also falling apart!" Bart yells.
Panther Lily was shocked by the sheer effort put into pushing back the island. In no time, he spotted Coco working with the Fairy Tail group to save the exceeds.
"Coco! What are you doing!? Don't you realize what you're doing!?" Panther Lily screamed.
"I know Lily! It's just that I want magic too, but not at the price of losing you or harming others! Because what good is power when lives are stake!?" Coco asked with tears falling down her eyes, further shocking Panther Lily.
Then suddenly, "Your majesty!" someone screams as Shagotte falls.
Prompting Panther Lily to swoop down and save the false goddess, "Panther Lily!? What are you doing here!?" she asked with wide eyes.
The giant exceed sighed, "I'm not sure myself, but it's definitely not destroying my former home." he said as he put down the queen.
Where he then found himself reluctantly helping everyone by pushing the island as well. The sheer amount of effort everyone put in made the event look futile. That the mere effort being put in was hope and overconfidence, but to the surprise of many. The sheer numbers and effort put into everyone's strength made the island stop moving before slowly backing away from the island.
"It's working!" Happy yells as the island moves further away.
"Drinks on me when this is over!" Blackbeard yells as the island is successfully pulled away.
Before everyone realized it, the lacrima exploded but not in a way that it would harm anyone or damage Extalia. Instead, it looked more as it popped. That's when Mystogan suddenly appeared in the sky.
"The lacrima has been returned to Earthland. All of your friends are safe now." Mystogan announces.
"Hey look!" Happy said pointing at the sky.
"The magic has been safely returned and Extalia is no longer in any danger!" Mystogan adds. "We are victorious!" he yells as everyone cheers.
"Hey! He didn't do anything! This was all us!" Natsu yells angrily.
"I'm shooting him down." Gray said as he didn't want Mystogan to take all of the credit.
As everyone minus those two celebrated a big victory. No one noticed the entire Edolas Royal army popping out from the castle. With Knightwalker aiming her lance at the group of exceeds and firing a large beam. One that would have hit Shagotte had Panther Lily not thrown her aside. The explosion was loud enough for everyone to stop celebrating and turn to see the giant exceed hit fall from the sky.
"Lily!" Coco screams.
(Fate Extra: Last Encore OST - Wild Hunt)
"This battle is not over yet!" Knightwalker yells as she leads the army while riding a bunch of legions.
"Scary Erza is back!?" Natsu asked.
Suddenly Knightwalker fired another laser, "Your victory is only a temporary set back for King Faust!" she yells as the laser destroys Bart's hull.
"The captain normally goes down with the ship, but I still want vengeance!" Bart yells as he jumps onto Blackbeard's ship.
"Francis! Now would be a good time for your fleet to open fire!" Lucy commands.
Francis smiles as she draws two flintlocks, "About time!" she said as she looked at Knightwalker. "Remember my name by the death from my passing! Temeroso del Draque! I am the woman who set the sun! You rascals, it's time! The King of Storms, a swarm of ghosts, this is the beginning of the Wild Hunt!" she yells as several mini ships appear behind her.
Kightwalker's confidence begins to falter as the ships take aim and fire at her entire force. With most of them being hit by the cannons from Drake's fleet. Even the legion that Erza was riding had been hit and started to spiral out of control. At least until she jumped aboard Drake's ship. Drake aimed her flintlocks at Knightwalker.
"I'm not accepting crew mates at this time." Drake said as she fired at Knightwalker who blocked both shots.
With the now short haired woman running towards the pirate. Only for Scarlet to jump in and block the attack. Knightwalker grits her teeth as she struggles in the clash of weapons.
"I'll take it from here Captain Drake." Scarlet said.
"Do as you wish. Edward and I can bring down the rest of the privateers." Drake said as both ships started fighting back.
As the fight had begun once again. Everyone started to feel a large amount of magic leaking out. Along with one of the nearby floating islands starting to shake. Where they witnessed a giant silver metallic sphere rising up from the ground.
"What the heck is that!?" Natsu asked.
"All traitors will be destroyed equally! Regardless of who you are, you will all die by my hand!" Faust shouts from inside of the sphere. "With this machine, I am invincible!" he shouts as the sphere starts to transform.
"Okay, is that some kind of weapon?" Gray asked as he sounds lost.
Soon enough, the sphere slowly transforms into a gigantic robot in the shape of a dragon. The machine appeared to be no joke either as they would find out that the power output of the mecha dragon is only matched by it's pristine appearance.
"That thing looks like the giant dragon Daphne made!" Lucy yells with shock.
"You mean the crazy lady that Gray tried to feed me too!?" Natsu asked.
"I said I was sorry already!" Gray yelled angrily.
"I don't think you actually did apologize. Not once." Lucy said as Gray sighed.
However this was no time to argue as the mecha dragon unleashed a powerful roar of energy. All around, the machine opened fire and nearly wiped everyone out. It even went as far as to destroy most of Drake's fleet. With the pink haired pirate having to adjust her ship as Scarlet and Knightwalker continued to battle on board the ship.
"Damn, can you take your look alike away from here?" Drake had asked Scarlet.
"I will!" Scarlet yells as she proceeded to lift Knightwalker over her shoulder as she jumps off the ship.
"I didn't mean for you to kill yourself!" Drake yells only for Erza to land on Extalia.
"I know what I'm doing! Just help fight the dragon!" Scarlet yells as Knightwalker repeatedly hits her back with her elbow.
With Mystogan
The not so mysterious member of Fairy Tail floated in front of Faust, "Father that is enough! You have gone too far already!" he yelled.
Faust scoffed, "You are no son of mine, let alone a prince. With this, my reign will be eternal and I will live like a god! Where not even you or your friends will stop me!" He yells as he prepares to shoot at Mystogan. "And don't think for a moment that I don't know about your plans! You've been sealing up all of the Anima and slowing down our process!" he yells.
"It doesn't matter what you want. I wills stop your greed." Mystogan said as he created a powerful barrier.
That Faust began to destroy with little effort, "You are too arrogant for your own good boy!" he yells as the barrier shatters and Mystogan begins to plummet.
"Mystogan!" everyone yells.
"Mystogan? What sort of stupid name is that? Your name is Jellal!" Faust said as his son fell towards the surface.
As this went on, the rest of the fleet continued to open fire on Faust. With each ship doing nothing to stop their assault. With the sheer number of cannon balls making Faust stagger back.
"Keep firing! It's gotta go down eventually!" Bart yells as he summons his own cannons to fire.
"What is this!? The Dorma Anim is meant to be impervious to all types of magic!?" Faust asked angrily.
Drake smirked, "I guess you're like Gilgamesh. Only you don't have the power to backup that haughty personality." she said as she kept shooting at him.
Faust snarled, "Begone with you!" He yelled before unleashing a more powerful blast to destroy the rest of Drake's fleet along with the Golden Hind.
Lucy immediately spread her wings and flew towards the fallen ship. As she quickly picked up and saved Drake from her sinking ship. All the while avoiding the various blasts coming from the Dorma Anim as Natsu, Wendy and Gajeel all run towards the mecha dragon. Most likely in an attempt to defeat it as their own magic is meant to be able to kill real dragons.
"We hurt it alright, but we barely scratched it." Drake said.
"Then hopefully a group of Dragon Slayers can actually beat it." Lucy said as she dropped Drake off at the Queen Anne's Revenge.
"I see a bunch of bilge rats down there. They're sucking up all of those felines." Blackbeard said as he looked at the surface with a spyglass.
"Sun of a biscuit eater." Bart cursed, he was annoyed of the army by this point.
"Do you guys think you can handle them while we deal with the machine?" Lucy asked.
Drake laughed, "I would if I had the Golden Hind, it's up to Teach here." she said pointing at Blackbeard.
"All hands hoay! We're sending some privateers to Davy Jones' locker!" Blackbeard said as he sailed his floating ship towards the surface.
Lucy sweat dropped at Blackbeard's words, "I'm not sure if that's how they mean to speak or if their legends are forcing them to do that." she said to herself.
At the fight
The Dorma Anim continued to open fire on the Dragon Slayers. All of whom continued to avoid attacks by the clumsy looking mecha dragon. With Natsu and Gajeel bashing it with brute force and Wendy landing quick and swift cuts while riding the hippygriff. All of which were further angering Faust as he was not able to hit them.
"Fire Dragon Iron Fist!" Natsu yells as he makes the machine stagger.
"Sky Dragon's Roar!" Wendy shouts as she flies towards the head.
"How are you damaging the Dorma Anim!?" Faust asked angrily.
Gajeel started making a gagging noise, "The metal is filling, but it tastes like crap." he said as he ripped apart the tail with his teeth.
"Are you eating my machine!?" Faust asked.
"Eating, punching, slashing and everything else Emperor Jerk! You messed with the wrong magic guild and you're gonna pay!" Natsu yells as he punches his fists together.
"Fools! You may be strong, but that only motivates me to use you until you run dry of your magic!" Faust exclaimed.
"Like hell you will!" Gajeel yells before ripping off the tail. "No one is messing with my home or taking my magic!" he adds as he jumps off of the machine.
"Let's get him together guys! Fast wind that run the heavens… Vernier!" Wendy casts as she amplifies the power of her teammates.
"I don't know what the brat did, but this feels great!" Gajeel said excitedly.
"I feel the same! Now let's finish off this jerk!" Natsu yells.
"Fire Dragon/Sky Dragon/Iron Dragon… ROAR!" The three Dragon Slayers scream together as their consecutive attacks hit the Dorma Anim head on.
As the machine began to tumble onto it's back. The outer layer of the armor cracked before completely shattering. Revealing another layer of armor underneath as the machine slowly recovered from the massive attack. Meaning the battle was far from over, especially as King Faust was laughing maniacally.
"I will not lose here and the Dorma Anim is not weak! I will be the one destroying you if I have to!" Faust yells before unleashing a barrage of lasers from the machine's cannons.
"Power of the stout that tears heaven… Arms!" Wendy cries out, making everyone's defenses increase.
Eventually, the barrage calmed down and the Dragon Slayers survived the assault with little injuries. By the however, the Dorma Anim looked more ferocious as the under armor of the machine had become black and stood up straight rather than hunched like a normal dragon. With it's blade's extended out like swords and it's stance looking more like a draconic warrior.
"That thing has more forms?" Gajeel asked.
Natsu grinned, "It means more fun for me metal head!" he exclaimed as he ran head first towards the Dorma Anim.
"There's no way you are getting ahead of me Salamader!" Gajeel yells just as a Class card crashes next to his foot.
"Gajeel, you might need that! That armor might be made of materials from a real dragon!" Lucy shouts from the sky.
"Thanks nun!" Gajeel yelled.
"I'm not a nun!" Lucy yells just as Gajeel activates Lu Bu's Class card.
"It won't be enough! The Dorma Anim Form: Black Sky, is not as easy to defeat as the last form!" Faust yells launching a barrage of missiles.
Some of which Natsu ate, "Thanks for the grub! Fire Dragon's Kick!" He yells as he lands a blow to the Dorma Anim's chest.
Unfortunately, the kick barely registered any impact with the machine. As the mecha merely swatted Natsu across the ground while Gajeel ran up to it. Using one of Lu Bu's staffs to land heavy blows onto the Dorma Anim's head before jumping back and firing a heavy explosive arrow. Which hardly made the machine stagger before also finding himself crashing into the ground.
Soon enough, Wendy found several missiles chasing her around. With the hippogriff growing exhausted by the speedy chase. Prompting the little girl to go through the book of Logistilla.
"Casseur de Logistille!" Wendy casts as several pages fly out of her book and turn golden.
Though the Noble Phantasm itself is meant to practically negate all forms of magic craft of A Rank or below. The missiles themselves were still empowered by magic and thus were completely nullified in the process.
"Oh man! This robot got more intense! I wonder how everyone else is doing!" Wendy said as she avoided a heavy blast by the Dorma Anim.
With Fairy Tail (Edolas)
Despite her beliefs and warnings towards the Earthland Fairy Tail wizards. Lucy Ashley found herself trying to motivate her own guild to help them. Of course, many refused to do so as the Edolas Army would likely kill them in the process. Though some did have a wild idea that many agreed with.
"How about we team up with the Royal Army?" someone asked.
Lucy immediately wanted to that idea shut down, "You know we can't." she said.
"Actually, it could work. Then they would owe us something." Macao said.
"It would make sense. Then we wouldn't have to worry about running all of the time." Wakaba said.
"Like the king would ever agree to that." Levy said with a scoff.
"I'm a lady, so I won't fight either way." Cana said in the corner while enjoying her tea.
Everyone continued to debate as to what to do. Ranging from helping Earthland, helping the army or do nothing as some did not want to take any risks. Only to stop by a loud knock at the door. One that sounded like it had a lot of authority. Prompting everyone to either hide or prepare for a fight.
"Crap, the army probably found us again!" Levy yelled as she ran to her generator.
"If you are expecting the royal army. Then you are sorely mistaken Fairy Tail." said a new voice.
"Who's there!?" Lucy demanded as she grabbed a blunt weapon.
"A benefactor, I see you are in dire trouble and my employer wishes to lend you tools in your rebellion." the voice answered.
Lucy hesitantly opened the door to find a creepy man in all black with sunglasses covering his eyes. The man stepped back and gestured to more dark figures who were dropping off large military style crates. With one opening up a case to present a sword coated in flames.
"What's the catch?" Lucy asked suspiciously.
The man laughed, "You can say this is a test drive for my employer's own magical weapons program." he answered. "However, while my employer does not see himself as your ally. He is more trustworthy than your king. After all, his love for the people is just a front." he said.
Lucy didn't like it, but some of her guild mates were fairly greedy. As they didn't take caution towards grabbing the cases and taking out whatever looked capable of bringing harm to someone. Lucy was about to further questions the man's motives only to see him and his associates packing up the empty crates and leaving.
"Hey!" Lucy yelled.
The man turned back to grin at Lucy, "You may wish to help your Earthland friends. As of now, the King has gone mad and may destroy this world." he said as he disappeared.
"Creeps, these things are probably booby trapped." she said.
"You should arm yourself too Lucy." Mira said as she handed Lucy a weapon.
Lucy sighed, "Maybe this whole helping thing is a bad idea." she said.
Regardless, after some more debate. The Fairy Tail of Edolas decided to reluctantly save their counterparts. Only most had more confidence as the magic tools seemed legitimate. With most of them being powered up by power cells filled with magic. Similar to a battery, along with giant packets filled with power cells.
It was safe to say that the guild started fighting over who would need more power cells in the upcoming battle.
The battle on the surface
The exceeds were almost completely gone. With only a few being able to run and hide from the army who were trying to suck them up. Even Shagotte was hiding behind some rocks with several children who were clinging to her for safety. Meanwhile, Gray and the pirate captains were teaming up against the army who outnumbered them.
"Ice Make Arrows!" Gray yells before launching his arrows from his gauntlet. "There are way too many of these guys. Are they made from a factory or something?" he asked.
"Regulus!" shouted Leo as he punched a soldier near Gray.
"Loke?" Gray asked.
"Hey Gray, you didn't think I was going to miss out on the party did you?" Loke asked as his fists were coated in golden magic.
Gray smirked, "I'm glad you didn't." he said.
"Focus on the fight, not your socializing." Drake said as she ran by.
"Yes ma'am!" Leo said as he was swooning over Drake's beauty.
"Still the same as ever." Gray said with the shake of his head.
"MOO! I'm helping out too Captain Drake!" Taurus yells as he charges into battle.
"I guess Lucy picked the spirits motivated by pretty women." Gray said with a sigh.
"You'll understand when you're older Gray." Leo said.
"I'm already engaged. What's there to understand?" Gray asked.
He was still unhappy that he was forced to marry Juvia. All because he accidentally froze her body while groping her breast. Sure, Gray realizes how beautiful Juvia is but he didn't want to be tied down. Still, the only real benefit is having another reliable partner or someone willing to help him cook a dinner.
"ENGAGED!? WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN!?" Leo yells with jealousy.
"Oh you didn't know?" Gray asked.
"NO! I DIDN'T! WHO'S THE BABE!?" Leo asked after punching another soldier's face.
Gray raised a finger, "Hold on, Ice Make: Hammer!" He yells as he bashes away a few soldiers. "Juvia Lockser, I accidentally groped her and it counts as a marriage." he answered.
"JUVIA!? So lucky!" Leo yelled before composing himself. "Actually, that sucks for you. It means you're tied down one girl you have to take care of." he said as he adjusted his glasses.
Gray sighed, "Says the womanizer." he said before continuing the fight.
"Mangy bilge rats!" Blackbeard yells as he opens fire on the group of Legions in the path of his cannons.
Only to be interrupted as a giant plant stalk started to burst from the ground. Along with it came several smaller stalks that started to lift up Edolas soldiers. As well as restraining the Legions that supported them. Before anyone realized it, the Fairy Tail of Edolas had arrived and every single member of the guild came out with their new weapons.
"Fairy Tail is here and we're done running!" the whole guild yelled.
"Where the heck did they come from!?" Lucy asked as she saw the whole guild overrun the Edolas army.
"You idiots chose a bad day to fight Fairy Tail's strongest team!" Levy yelled as she along with Jet and Droy started to blitz the army. Using their superior strength and speed to wipe out large squadrons with ease, "Let's go boys! We can't let Lucy show us up!" Levy said as she lead the way to bigger waves of enemies.
"Okay that is weird!" Lucy said before flying down towards the ground.
All around, she saw everyone getting brave and using their fancy equipment to break the line of enemies. Even more so, Edolas Natsu got brave and started chasing everyone with a flaming chainsaw.
"It's like a car! Except for your hands!" Edolas Natsu yells as he chases down some poor soldier.
"I guess everyone is being motivated. Except Cana I guess." Lucy said as Edolas Cana was just sitting their drinking tea. "I should save all of this. Poor Cana is going to get mad when she sees her other self." she said as she recorded everything with a lacrima.
Only to wince as she heard a loud explosion on the island where the Dorma Anim was. Still, Lucy had faith that her guild's potentially most powerful group of wizards would overcome the mad man behind all of this.
"Hang in there guys, if anyone can beat that monster. It's you three." Lucy whispered.
"Hey Lucy, care to help!?" Gray asked as he continued firing arrows.
"Yeah, just hold on!" Lucy shouts as she lets gives something to let the lacrima float around with.
Back at the battle
Despite the sheer strength Lucy granted them along with Wendy's support magic. The trio were badly beaten and sent skidding across the ground. All of which were being towered over by Faust who was feeling victorious.
"It was futile from the start. This is the will of Edolas! This is my will!" Faust shouts. "Even if it takes up all the remaining magic in Edolas! I will not lose here!" he shouts.
Natsu glared at the Dorma Anim as he struggled to stand, "If you think that a little exhaustion is enough. Then you are dead wrong old man!" he yelled. "Because if I run out of magic today! Then I'll borrow some from tomorrow!" he yells as he flares his magic.
"And don't forget, we have the power of amazing humans that once existed!" Wendy adds as she refers to the Heroic Spirits.
"Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. This isn't a fight, it's just a really good work out!" Gajeel said as he looked excited.
"It is your own faults when you face your destiny!" Faust yells as he's willing to kill them by this point despite having unique magic.
"Wendy, you try to fly around and find a weakness or a sensitive point. Metal head and I will distract that geezer." Natsu ordered.
"Right away Natsu!" Wendy quickly replied.
"Yeah, we broke it once. So we can break it again." Gajeel said as Wendy called the Hippogriff to her side..
As Wendy started to fly away. Natsu and Gajeel ran at the Dorma Anim at full speed. Faust unleashed another wave of missiles at the pair only to miss as they moved at blinding speeds. At the same time, they never noticed Faust calling on the magical energy from the lacrima that made all of the islands float. Using this, Faust really did risk removing the tiny bit of magical essence left in all of Edolas forever in an attempt to win the battle. Leaving him with only the option of taking magic from Earthland which was very full.
Not that Fairy Tail would allow that to happen. With great speeds, Natsu jumped onto one of the arms of the Dorma Anim and proceeded to beat his swords against the armor like clubs. While it seemed futile and stupid, Natsu did this before to Jellal.
"Come on! Come on! Just break already you stupid swords!" Natsu yells as he keeps bashing them down.
"Hurry up Salamander!" Gajeel yells as he avoids a swipe from Dorma Anim. "Iron Dragon's Scales!" he yells as he surrounds himself in his
metal armor as to prepare for the next hits.
*CRACK*
Natsu laughed, "I did it! Grendel Buster!" He yells as his physical strength increases greatly. "Now it's time I really wreck up this overgrown toy!" he yells as he starts pulling on the arm's giant blade.
"Iron Dragon's Sword!" Gajeel yells as he stabs the Dorma Anim in the chest.
Meanwhile Wendy flies behind the machine, "La Black Luna" she shouts as she blows on a horn that turns into a giant series of trumpets and other horns.
Despite the fact that the tool is meant to blow away multiple targets surrounding the user. The instrument was still powerful enough to damage whatever was in it's wav. Causing the Dorma Anim to take a massive hit from behind and making it almost collapse. Gajeel then started tapping into his own Noble Phantasm as the Dorma Anim attempted to regain it's balance. Where a large bow appeared and he started to use his lance as an arrow.
"Let's see how well your fancy ass robot can handle this! God Force!" Gajeel shouts as he fires the lance at the Dorma Anim.
The result being that the lancce was surrounded in a giant amount of magic. Leaving behind a large trench that was burned into the ground by the lance's aura. Ending with a giant explosion that made the Dorma Anim collapse onto it's back. This situation had left Faust open for one of Natsu's heavily enhanced punches.
"Dragon Slayer's Secret Art!" Natsu begins to say as his fist is surrounded by a giant wave of fire. "Crimson Lotus: Fire Dragon's Fist!" he shouts as he deals a heavy blow to the Dorma Anim, resulting in a giant tornado of flames.
"That can't be enough." Gajeel said as the tornado started to die down.
In it's wake, it was followed by the sounds of heavy metal being repeatedly hit. With the whole island itself starting to shake due to Beowulf's powerful physique enhancing Natsu's natural strength. Before Wendy and Gajeel realized it, they heard the Dorma Anim shatter. Ending with the machine exploding into giant fragments and chunks.
With Natsu landing in the dirt while holding Faust himself.
"Come here you bastard!" Natsu yelled as he tossed Faust in front of the group.
Where the old man started to shake in horror as he no longer saw three wizards of Earthland. No, he saw three ferocious dragons in their place and the only ones able to stand beside these majestic yet fear inducing creatures were the three heroic spirits that stood by them. Astolfo, a paladin of Charlemagne, Beowulf the Norse Hero who killed Grendel and Lu Bu the Hero of Betrayal. All three standing beside the dragons as if they had earned their respect.
Faust's old heart couldn't take it anymore and thus he lost consciousness. For it was now safe to say, that the battle is lost and Edolas has failed.
"Now what do we do this guy?" Natsu asked.
"He's already beat, we gotta make him command those army guys to surrender too." Gajeel said before the entire island started to shake.
"What's going on now!?" Wendy asked fearfully.
"We're falling, what does it look like we're doing!?" Natsu asked back.
What the Dragon Slayers did not realize is Faust really did waste all of Edolas' magic. Causing the lacria under all of the floating islands to go empty. Resulting in all of them losing their ability to stay afloat. Meaning each one was about to crash onto the surface. As of now, everyone living in a city under the floating islands were likely watching in fear as these giant piles of land were about to hit them like meteors.
With Lucy
Lucy looked around in confusion, "What's going on now?" she asked as she looked at the floating islands that were falling.
Before anyone could say anything. Everyone started to realize that their magic weapons had run out of magic. The Fairy Tail guild of Edolas were now fearing for their lives as each power cell had suddenly run dry due to Faust draining them. However it appeared that the Edolas army was much more fearful. As they all started to run away in fear as they had no other way to fight back.
"Those guys are bigger cowards than Natsu!" Edolas Lucy shouted with wide eyes.
"They make Elfman look bloodthirsty!" Edolas Reevus adds.
"I'm not thirsty for blood!" Edolas Elfman said fearfully.
Ignoring Elfman's cowardice, everyone started to either run or take cover. With Levy running back inside to see if there was another way to make the guild hall teleport again. Only to find poor results as there was literally no ounce of magic left anywhere near them. Meanwhile, Lucy started to fly around in search of Shirou. While also recalling her Celestial and Heroic Spirits to save on the magical energy for what looks like armageddon.
'Where are you Shirou? Did you wander off on your own?' Lucy wondered as she felt terrified.
With Erza, a little while earlier
Erza Knightwalker was still doing her best to continue to fight Erza. Even as her Ten Commandments was already cracked and unable to use it's unique abilities with her low amount of magic. Erza Scarlet on the other hand still had some left over magic that allowed her to retain Minamoto-no-Raikou's form.
"My magic is runing out." Knightwalker cursed.
"It seems so, this almost seems unfair. Then again, I am not someone without mercy." Scarlet said as she raised her sword at her counterpart's throat. "I will give you a chance to surrender." she said.
Knightwalker sneered, "As long as King Faust still stands. Then the will of Edolas wil continue!" she yells.
Only to hear the explosion in the distance, "It seems that your king has fallen. What will you do now Knightwalker?" Scarlet asked.
Knightwalker let out a roar and continued to charge Scarlet. Engaging her with quick stabs and slashes which Scarlet quickly parried with her own blade. Before kicking Knightwalker away and firing several arrows at her. Making Knightwalker dodge around the projectiles before jumping high into the air. Where she attempted to bash Scarlet with the blunt end of her lance. Only to be surprised with an explosive arrow to the gut.
Powerful enough to destroy most of the cloth around her body. As Knightwalker skids across the ground.
"I got your back Erza!" yelled a familiar voice.
"Shirou!? What are you doing here!?" Scarlet asked before hearing another explosion.
Looking at the other island, Scarlet saw the Dorma Anim fall apart. Despite this being a great victory, the islands started to fall once their magic had been drained. Erza immediately jammed her sword into the ground and hanged onto dear life with Shirou doing the same. Only to see Knightwalker slowly climbing towards them as the island of Extalia started to tilt.
"She's crazy!" Shirou yells.
"She has persistance, I can respect that." Scarlet said as Knightwalker appeared to be furious.
Shirou raised his arm and generated several weapons in the air. Using all of them as projectiles as he fired upon Knightwalker who managed to toss herself around while maintaining a strong grip on the ground. The crazy red haired knight of Edolas was too determined to finish the job. Cleary she took her role as the Fairy Hunter too seriously as to go far enough to targetting her counterpart who's a part of Fairy Tail.
"What is wrong with you Knightwalker? I have never been this willing to take lives." Scarlet asked.
"Then you are weak willed!" Knightwalker answered as she kept coming closer.
"She's as fast as she is crazy!" Shirou yells as he keeps trying to hit Erza with weapons.
"Save your strength Shirou. The only way for anyone to get through to me is with a good beating!" Scarlet said as she slides down and kicks Knightwalker.
"Erza!" Shirou yells as he slides down as well.
As the two versions of Erza fall off of Extalia. They begin to grab at each other and trade blows while arguing about morales. In which Knightwalker always replied that human selfishness is normal and that she is no different.
"Then you are the blind one Knightwalker! You can't open your eyes to the big picture!" Scarlet yells as they start spinning out of control.
Shirou slowly started to close in behind them as he continued to free fall. As the boy started to close in on the pair. His entire body was enveloped in a dangerously high amount of mana. Before they reached the surface, Shirou grabbed Scarlet and Knightwalker. When a pair of metallic wings appeared on his back and helped him reduce the speed of his descent and curve the direction as well. Only to end up crashing onto the gorund at a much slower pace.
'Note to self, don't copy Circe's wings using physical tools. Mystic Codes are not meant to be copied that way.' Shirou thought as he stood up while covered in smoke.
Scarlet struggled to stand and found herself hanging onto Shirou, "That was dangerous young man! Do not think that I will not inform Lucy…" she stopped mid sentence as she saw Shirou's new appearance. "Natsu?" She asked.
"I'm not Natsu." Shirou said with a slightly deeper voice.
"What happened to you?" Scarlet asked, fearing that Lucy would get mad that she let Shirou transform.
As of now, Shirou was taller and aged a bit. If anything, he kind of looked like a red haired Natsu with Lucy's facial features. Along with several tears around his outfit showing the signs of his physical change. To be frank, this did scare Shirou a bit too.
"What happened?" Shirou asked only for Knightwalker to stand up.
The woman did not look one bit convinced or reformed in any way. Instead, she looked ready for another fight as she swung her lance onto her palm.
"I forget that I'm quite stubborn." Scarlet said.
"You think? How about we take her out together?" Shirou asked as he summoned his twin blades to his side.
"Just because you are older. It doesn't mean you are in charge young man. Nonetheless, I think you are old enough to stand by my side." Scarlet said as she gave her nephew a chance.
At the capital
All around the royal capital, the citizens were panicking as they saw the islands crash in the distance. To make matters worse, all of the magic was disappearing as well as bright golden lights started to appear and began to suck their gadgets and other tools dry of all of their magic. Leaving the citizens feeling as if the apocalypse had just arrived.
However, Mystogan who was really Edolas' version of Jellal, had looked over the capital. Watching as things started to unfold.
"This is crazy Jellal! You're taking away all of the magic!?" Panther Lily asked outrageously.
"It's the only way Lily. My father had already created so much damage. Not only that, but he's broken the balance and now I need to fix it." Jellal said before noticing a giant fire in the distance.
"Pesky humans! Bow before your new demon lord, Dragneel!" a familiar voice shouts.
"What's going on now!?" Panther Lily asked.
"I think this is another one of Natsu's shenanigans. Let's see what he's up to." Jellal said as he ran towards Natsu.
Where he quickly found every citizen looking terrified. It's most likely that they believed Natsu to be a real demon lord as he somehow had some magic left in his body. Where he flared it and caused small fires to terrify the crowd. Unbeknownst to Jellal, Natsu came up with an ingenious idea to scare the crowd into feeling hopeless. Only for Jellal to fight him and win so that everyone can feel hope that they can still function without their magic.
At the same time, Gajeel was terrorizing the citizens as well while wearing a dark cape. Wendy did the same and subsequently failed due to her nature where she did not appear to be too frightening.
"Useless mortals! You have no way to defeat the Great Dragneel! You are free to step forward and forfeit your lives if you wish!" Natsu announced as he waited for Jellal to appear.
Back to the fight with Knightwalker
"Take this!" Knightwalker yells as she kicks Shirou's blades.
"Not bad, but how do you like this!" Shirou said countering with a flame coated slash to her chest.
"We have her now Shirou!" Scarlet yells as she charges up her magic. "Just give me another moment to finish this." she said.
Shirou nods, "I got this!" he said before Scarlet charged at him again.
Shirou continued to try and block each attack. Only resulting in each pair of blades he made to break upon impact. With Knightwalker even kicking him into a large rock. Shirou managed to roll away in time to avoid being impaled. He then pulled out his bow and fired rapid arrow shots at the Fairy Hunter who deflected each projectile.
'Crap, she's still tough without that staff.' Shirou thought before avoiding another slash. "Trace On!" he shouts as he strengthens his next blades.
As Shirou blocked the next strike. He found his blades locking Knightwalker's Ten Commandments in place. Despite the terrible damage done to them from the earlier fight with Erza. Shirou started to scan the damaged weapon and gained most of it's schematics transferred into his mind. While it would have been much better to have had a chance to scan it when the lancer was in pristine condition.
Shirou's projections are just copies and are typically a lot weaker. With that in mind, Shirou loosed his grip and let go of Knightwalker's weapon as she kept putting in a lot of force. Causing her to stumble forward as Shirou recreated a crude version of Ten Commandments.
"Explosion!" Shirou yells as he strikes Knightwalker form behind.
The attack made Knightwalker skid across the ground towards Scarlet. Who had just finished channelling all of the magic she needed.
"Ox-King Storm Call!" Scarlet calls out as the image of an Ushi Oni appears behind her.
Knightwalker was too slow to react as for clones of Scarlet surrounded her. With each one holding a copy of the weapon representing the Four Heavenly Kings of Raikou's era. Each one raised their weapon and quickly struck down Knightwalker with great power. Causing the Fairy Hunter to lose consciousness upon taking too much damage.
"We did it." Scarlet said before grunting and collapsing onto Shirou's chest.
"Hang in there. We still need to get back home with everyone else." Shirou said before his his body started to glow.
Before he realized it, Shirou was once again stuck in the form of a small child again. Scarlet raised a brow of confusion, wondering what it was that changed Shirou's appearance. At the same time, she noted how much stronger Shirou was in the form of a young adult compared to his child form. The Titania knew she would have to ask Lucy about that one later.
Then they noticed all of the golden energy being lifted into a giant portal in the sky. Unknown to them, this was another anima generated by Edolas Jellal himself. Only instead of stealing more magic from Eaerthalnd, it was meant to send all of the stolen magic including the small bits left in Edolas back to Earthland. They would soon realize this once they were lifted up.
"Erza, where are we going!?" Shirou asked fearfully.
"I'm not sure, but hang on tight!" Scarlet said as she shoved Shirou into her bosom.
Back at the capital
As everyone was slowly being taken back to Earthland. Natsu was still "fighting" Jellal who still looked confused.
"Why are you doing this?" Jellal asked as he was hit in the gut.
"The people need you Mystogan, Jellal or whatever your name is. They need hope and all that stuff. Not getting sad over losing magic." Natsu said before hitting him again. "Still, this means goodbye. So you know what that means." he adds.
"I know." Jellal said sadly before blocking the next hit.
"The three rules of leaving Fairy Tail." Natsu said before taking a hit from Jellal. "Number 1, you must never reveal sensitive information about Fairy Tail to others so long as you live. Number 2, you must never use former contacts met through your being in the guild for personal gain." he said before he let Jellal punch him into the ground. "Number 3, though our paths may have diverged, you must continue to live your life with all your might. Never consider your own life to be something insignificant, and you must never forget about your friends so long as you live." He finishes before falling back and feigning unconscious.
With that over, the citizens cheered for their prince and soon to be king. Believing that their new ruler was strong and capable of leading them down a path that Faust never could. Edolas would be just fine in the upcoming future, regardless of the difficult obstacles lying ahead of them.
"See ya later, Jellal." Natsu said before being lifted back into Earthland.
But not before eventually floating past Faust. Who asked him a strange question with a strange new personality. Whatever it was that Faust asked, it left Natsu having a bright smile on his face before he left with everyone. Including the exceeds surprisingly enough, along with a familiar white haired girl in the distance.
On Earthland
Despite the heavy rain, it was safe to say that things were fine in Magnolia town. With the peace being present, there was likely no one around to notice the anima and the conflict involved in Edolas. Leaving everyone blissfully unaware of what had gone on in the other dimension. Putting aside the locals of Earthland, Fairy Tail's Team Natsu had returned home along with a big surprise.
"Well that worked out well!" Natsu said before all of the exceeds appeared.
"Okay, this is new." Gray said sounding confused.
"Why are they here?" Natsu asked.
"They're here to kill the Dragon Slayers!" Charle shouts.
Nadi immediately tried to stop the miscommunication, "No! You have it all wrong! For crying out loud! We can't even lift cheese wheels!" he yells.
"He has a point Charle. You almost had a stroke carrying a book about Artemis." Wendy said.
"It's not my fault that the Goddess of the Hunt has so much history!" Charle yelled.
Meanwhile, Lucy ignored the situation, "Where's Shirou!?" she frantically asked.
Erza also looked around, "He was with me just a moment ago." she said.
Elsewhere
Shirou shivered, "I'm never marrying a girl with big boobs." he whined.
Then all of a sudden, he heard a of rustling in the bushes. Shirou quickly generated a sword and pocked the bushes. Where he immediately jumped back as he heard a voice.
"Ow! Who's poking me!?" Asked a female voice.
Suddenly, a tiny black cat dragging a tied up girl with white hair came out. Shirou kept his weapon up as he didn't want to underestimate the cat. It didn't help that he forcefully kidnapped the white haired girl.
"Hey kid! You're with Fairy Tail right? Do you know Gajeel? He promised he would make me his partner and I expect him to live up to that promise." the cat said.
"Eh? Who are you and why did you kidnap this girl?" Shirou asked.
"I keep trying to tell him, I'm a member of Fairy Tail too!" the girl said as she struggled to break her bonds.
"And who are you!?" Shirou asked.
"I'm Lisanna, Lisanna Straus." The girl answered.
