Olivia had hardly slept that night. She couldn't move from bed by herself, however, considering she didn't have her crutches with her. Ed had helped her to use the bathroom after they had indulged in each other. He had ran a bath for them and had cleaned off the grime of the day before moving back to bed. Olivia had called Jim, promising him that she was fine and how she wanted him to be careful. Ed had watched her make the call on the phone in the room, twirling the cord around her finger as she sat on the edge of the bed before she made another call, not telling Ed who she was calling.
"Lee, it's me," Olivia said down the phone.
"Liv, thank God," Lee said, her voice one of relief. "What are you doing back here?"
"Well, it wasn't exactly a choice," Olivia said to Lee. "The Court of Owls found me and intended to use me as leverage against Jim, but that didn't quite work out. I'm free now and hiding out in a hotel."
"Where are you? I can come and get you."
"It's fine," Olivia promised her.
There was a silence between the two of them before Lee made an exasperated noise, clearly disappointed in Olivia. The youngest Gordon bit down on her bottom lip as Ed sat on the other side of the bed, one of the complimentary magazines in his lap that he was pretending to read.
"You're with Ed, aren't you?"
"Only until Oswald has been dealt with," Olivia said, trying to defend herself. She was hardly going to tell Lee that only an hour earlier Ed had been between her thighs and making her moan in a way she hadn't moaned before. "The two of them have this feud ever since Oswald tried to kill me."
"He's dangerous, Liv," Lee said. "Why are you doing this to yourself? Why can you not just accept that he is bad for you? I helped to give you a new life in Florida. You had everything that you could have ever wanted."
Olivia scoffed, her hand gripping hold of the phone tighter. "You kept me locked in an apartment, Lee," she deadpanned with her. "I wasn't allowed out of it because you put bodyguards on the door."
"It was only until you saw sense," Lee said. "It was just only until you were able to understand that we were trying to help you because we knew that you would end up back where you started if we didn't. And we were right. Look at where you are now."
"I didn't ask for Ed to come for me."
"But I bet you didn't entirely put a fight either," Lee responded haughtily. "You know what, Liv, you know what he is. You know what he's done. You sit there and bleat on about it being so hard to move on from him, but in the end you've had plenty of time to do just that and you haven't."
"And you?" Olivia snapped back at her. "I know what my brother did to Mario. I know why he did it too, but I know that you've been trying to get revenge on him. He might not tell me much, but he told me enough."
"Your brother murdered my husband," Lee snapped. "And if you think that I will ever forgive him then you'd be wrong. He's not all that different from Ed. He's killed in cold blood…he's not a perfect man…but the difference between us, Olivia, is that I'm strong enough to let him go."
Olivia bit down on her tongue as Lee continued to talk, filling the silence.
"You know, I know you were hurting when you found out what Ed did, but your constant pushing him away and going back to him routine is exhausting. Just admit that you don't want to give him up and get on with it. He'll ruin your life eventually."
"I'm going, Lee. I don't want to argue with you…you're my friend, Lee."
Lee sighed once more. "You're mine too, Liv, but you're just exhausting. Either stay with Nygma and admit you're in love with a murderer or leave him and get over it."
Lee hung up then and Olivia listened to the dial tone before she placed the phone down. She remained sat where she was as Ed looked at her back, seeing that her shoulders were hunched. He flipped to the next page of the magazine and looked back to it absentmindedly.
"I take it that conversation didn't go how you wanted it to go," Ed informed Olivia and she looked back to him over her shoulder. She watched his face for a few moments and said nothing as Ed sighed, closing the magazine and tossing it to the bottom of the bed. "One minute you open up and the next you say nothing. You're constant hot and cold routine is getting difficult to stomach, Liv."
"Don't you start," Olivia demanded from him and she tried to stand up and move away. She placed her hand to the wall and limped forwards, only getting a few steps before Ed stood up, arms folding over his chest.
"Where are you going?"
"Anywhere," Olivia said.
"You're not going anywhere because you can't walk," Ed said to her. "Look at you, you're struggling to even stand up."
"I can manage," Olivia said and Ed walked around the bed. He stood in front of her and stopped her getting anywhere. He took hold of her by the waist as she tried to push at his chest, but he turned her around and guided her back to the bed, holding most of her weight against him.
"No, you can't," Ed said. "Now sit back down before you hurt yourself."
"She's right," Olivia said as she sat down in front of Ed and he knelt in front of her, wondering what she was talking about. "Lee is right. I need to either leave you and move on or I need to just accept who you are."
"And what do you want to do?" Ed asked from her.
"I…you're complicated, Ed," Olivia said to him. "You've done bad things. You've done things that aren't right and I know that. I helped you cover up most of them so I'm hardly perfect. But you're not the Ed I met anymore, are you? There's still some of him inside of you."
"I like to think of us as co-existing," Ed said, clasping his fingers together to emphasise that. "There is still some of the old me, Liv, but I changed. I had to change."
"You terrorised a city."
"I went off the rails. You have no idea what I was like without you, Olivia. I lashed out at anything and anyone who came close to me. I needed to find a purpose and I was good at causing chaos. It was the one thing that I actually enjoyed and was good at."
"But now?"
"Now?" Ed asked her. "Now all I can think about is being with you and leaving this city, if you'll have me and forgive me for everything I've done."
"You mean that?"
"I mean it," Ed promised her. "Because you need to understand that everything I have done, Olivia, it has been for you. Granted, I perhaps haven't gone about in the best way…like framing your brother…but all of it has been to try and keep us together. And look at us now. We're back where we started…together."
Olivia said nothing and he knew that she was thinking. She leaned back on the bed, her back flopping onto the unmade sheets as Ed looked along her body, seeing her bury her head into her hands and shake her head.
"Jim's going to kill me," she muttered, unable to believe what she was about to do. Ed's eyes widened and his ears pricked up as he wondered what that meant.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Ed asked from her and she propped herself onto her elbows, nodding her head once.
"It means that I want you," Olivia said to him. "I've been complicit in your crimes. I've helped you cover up murders. I'm not innocent, Ed. And when I was in Florida and I was watching the TV…seeing what you were doing…I knew why you were doing it and I blamed myself. I blamed myself because it was wrong what they did. They should never have faked my death."
"I took pills, Olivia," Ed whispered, admitting everything to her. "When I killed Penguin for what he had done, I had nothing left. I had no purpose. The pills helped me focus on something…kept me going."
"I never wanted to do that to you," Olivia said with a shake of her head. "And when I was in that apartment…all I thought about was you, Ed. I would wake up and feel an ache from missing you. I would long for you to be there…it would almost be like we could forget this city. We could forget what it did to us."
"And this is what you want?" Ed checked with her and she shrugged.
"I don't know what I want," Olivia said. "This could be the craziest, stupidest thing I have done and it might not work out, Ed. None of this might not work out and we could end up resenting each other…but Jim locked me away. He kept me hidden. He doesn't get to make choices for me."
Ed's lips arched as he heard her and wondered just what had gotten into her. What had happened to her in Florida? What had she gone through being locked away in that apartment? He didn't know, but he didn't bother to argue with her. He was just grateful that she had agreed to come with him. It was all that he had wanted.
"We can talk about this," Ed promised her. "We can talk about this a lot more when we're away from Gotham, but first, we need to take care of Penguin otherwise he'll never leave us alone."
…
Olivia didn't entirely know if she liked Ed's plan or not. Sitting next to him in rented car, Olivia looked to him as he took the key out of the ignition and looked down to her. She was wearing a plum coloured dress that came down to her knees, her legs covered in tights. She had a leather jacket over her shoulders to keep her warm. Ed had changed into another green suit as Olivia questioned how many of them he had that morning as they prepared to leave the hotel room.
Ed had been tempted to leave her behind in the hotel, but he knew that wouldn't be a good idea. He knew that keeping her in his sights would be for the best.
"I don't like this," Olivia said to Ed with a shake of her head.
"We're going to need help if we're to make it out of this," Ed said to her with a shrug of his shoulders. "And they hate Penguin as much as I do so they're our only option. I know that you have a history with Barbara-"
'-She kidnapped me and almost killed Lee," Olivia reminded him. "Plus, she almost forced my brother to marry her. She's basically a psychopath."
Ed nodded and waved a hand. "While I do agree that her methods are unconventional and she can appear slightly unhinged, she takes her business very seriously at running the criminal underworld. Penguin threatens that for her."
"Again, crazy deranged almost sister-in-law," Olivia said and Ed's lips arched despite everything as he reached a hand over to run along her cheeks, his long fingers dancing over her cheekbones.
"I won't let her hurt you, Liv," Ed said to her.
Olivia rolled her eyes. "I'm not scared of her hurting me," she said to him. "I'm worried that she will do something to betray us and we can't trust her."
"We can," Ed said. "And if you can't trust her then trust me. When have I ever put you at risk, Olivia? And I mean intentionally and not as a consequence of other actions."
"Fine," Olivia relented, knowing that he had a point. "Let's get this over with."
Ed climbed from the car and came to the passenger side. He grabbed the crutches he had managed to steal from the hospital that morning out of the backseat. Olivia managed to stand up on the sidewalk, Ed handing her a crutch as she limped forwards slowly, his hand on the small of her back as he kicked the car door shut and locked it.
Heading towards the building, he made sure that they weren't being followed as they entered the lobby, the plush marble and cream walls giving it a luxurious feel with a water feature pressed up against a wall. Pushing the button for the elevator, Ed waited with Olivia, one of them more apprehensive than the other. Running his hand up and down her back, he tried to keep her calm as they stepped into the enclosed space and Ed pushed the button for Barbara's club.
Olivia looked at the space when they left. She had to admit that it seemed quite fancy. Clearly, Barbara was doing well for herself. Ed went at a slow pace with Olivia, not wanting to rush her as he spotted Barbara behind the bar, a bottle of vodka in her hands as she put the new stock away. She lowered it instantly and pulled out her gun from under the bar, aiming it straight at Nygma, a smug smile on her face.
"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't kill you right now, Nygma?" she demanded from him.
"Oh, I have that reason," Ed promised her. "But I'm going to need you to lower that gun of yours."
"And why would I do that?"
"Because I come to propose an alliance," Ed said to her.
"You and your little pet?" Barbara questioned, but she didn't lower her gun as her smile turned to Olivia. "Hi, Liv, long time no see. I'd thought that you were dead. I sent flowers."
"Very kind of you," Olivia said, her voice dry. "But I'm not dead."
"No," Barbara drawled, lowering her gun ever so slightly. "But you have come over to the dark side, haven't you? Finally seen that it's better than being on the side of angels? I could have told you that months ago."
"I'm not on anyone's side."
"Oh, honey, please," Barbara laughed. "You're dangling off of the arm of a man who calls himself The Riddler and terrorised Gotham. What makes you think you can still play the role of virtuous school teacher now?"
Olivia said nothing back to her. Barbara was right. She had no right to take the moral high ground, not anymore and most certainly not after what she had done for Ed to help him keep the murders quiet. She never thought herself like Barbara or Penguin. She considered them to be bad people. They even considered that themselves. But she wasn't good. How could she be when she stayed with Ed?
"We're not here to discuss our relationship," Ed said.
"Then why are you here?" a new voice entered the conversation and Ed turned to see Tabitha and Butch moving into the club. The woman had her arms folded firmly over her chest as Butch glowered at Ed.
"Ah, Tabitha, you're here."
"And I can see you're here with your girlfriend who I lost a hand for," Tabitha spat and Olivia's eyes widened.
"What?" she snapped, looking up to Ed who offered her a shrug of his shoulders.
"Oh, yes, Olivia, meet Butch and Tabitha…they work with Barbara and I thought that they might have been the one to cut your brakes to get back at me," Ed informed Olivia. "Turns out that I was wrong and you weren't dead so it's all water under the bridge."
"Is it?" Tabitha sniped.
"I said sorry," Ed retorted. "Besides, we have bigger things to worry about."
Ed pulled out a bar stool and Olivia sat down, wondering how he knew she was fatiguing. He made sure she was firmly seated, crutches resting behind her before he leant back against the bar, one arm going behind her and his hand sitting on her back again.
"And what are these bigger things?" Barbara questioned, stepping out from the bar and lining up next to Butch and Tabitha. Butch sat down on the stage as Olivia looked over the three of them, hoping that Ed had been right and they had nothing t fear from them. But Olivia couldn't help feeling intimidated. They all looked threatening and, if Olivia had to be honest, pretty glamorous too. But she put that petty thought aside as her eyes left Tabitha's leather jacket and moved back to Ed.
"Penguin's alive," Ed said.
Barbara dropped her hands to her hips, crumpling the leather mini leather dress she wore under her feathered jacket. "What?" she snapped.
"Oswald Cobblepot is alive," Ed drawled.
"He's lying," Tabitha spoke.
"I wish that were true," Ed said.
"He goes missing for days and now he shows up with some insane story about Penguin being alive."
"It's true," Olivia added on, Ed's hand staying on her back as he shifted closer to her. He began to wonder if it was a good idea bringing her here with him. Barbara picked up on his defensive stance and her smirk grew as she wondered just what lengths he would go to for her. "There's this organisation called the Court of Owls. They run Gotham and Jim had infiltrated their ranks."
"That's my Jim, always looking for trouble," Barbara laughed and Olivia shot a glare in her direction.
"He's not your Jim," she snapped at her.
"We'll see about that eventually," Barbara whispered and Olivia wondered if it was possible for her to have never moved on from him. It certainly seemed that way.
"That's not the point," Ed jumped in. "The point is that the Court took us and they had also taken Oswald. We escaped together, but he's out there now and he's planning to kill me…or even worse, kill Olivia."
"Your love for her is so endearing," Tabitha said in a sarcastic tone and then shook her head. "How do we know this isn't some trick and you're just going to betray us?"
"Well, you should know about betrayal," Barbara said and she shot Tabitha a knowing look as the other woman retorted. The two of them began arguing, Butch standing up and moving to the middle of them as Olivia wondered what had happened between both of them. But Ed didn't seem to care about any of that as he took a step forwards.
"Enough," he snapped at them. He didn't have time for this. "The Court of Owls aren't what we have to worry about. We have to worry about Penguin."
They went silent as Butch looked to Nygma.
"Why is Penguin our problem?" he demanded to know. "You were the one who shot him and dumped him in the river. He wants to kill you and your little girlfriend then that's your issues."
Olivia saw the tell-tale sign of Ed's growing frustration. His jaw clenched for a moment and his gaze darkened as he stepped forwards, his voice low. "Ah, Butch," he said. "I knew that your hand was made of led but I didn't think that your brain was as well."
He stood inches from Butch as Olivia bit down on the inside of her cheek, longing for Ed not to make things worse between them. The last thing that they truly needed was a drama like this to escalate.
"Cute," Butch drawled, jutting his own chin out. "But as far as I see it, this is a problem for you and her."
"And you three helped me," Ed reminded them. "We all conspired to murder Penguin and so in Penguin's eyes we'll all be guilty."
There were a few moments of silence and Barbara sighed, nodding her head once and folding her arms over her chest. "He's right," she said, knowing exactly how Penguin's mind worked. "I'll get a team to hit Penguin's house."
"I wouldn't bother," Ed said, turning back to Olivia and nodding once, indicating that it was time for them to go. She climbed down off the seat and reached for her crutches. She slipped her hands into them as Ed went back to hovering over her. "He knows that would be the first place we would look."
"Then where will he be?" Barbara questioned.
"He has a number of safe houses. I will be back in another hour or so and we can start with them."
"So we're risking our lives for her?" Tabitha demanded, pointing at Olivia. "She's the cause of all this, isn't she? She's the one we're trying to protect now."
"It was Penguin who started this by cutting her brakes."
"But he would never have done that if she wasn't with you, so therefore, she's the cause of this," Butch agreed with Tabitha.
"No, Penguin is," Ed said, refusing even to let them try and blame Olivia for any of this. He would not have any of the blame placed on her. "Penguin made his choice and now we have to deal with this."
"This is ridiculous," Barbara interjected. "The point is we have to deal with Penguin and so blaming her is not going to get us anywhere. Besides, I'd do anything to help my sister-in-law."
Olivia wanted to bite back at her, but she didn't. She just remained silent as Ed left next to her. She swore that she held her breath firmly until they were back on the sidewalk and in the fresh air. Ed helped her into the car and took her crutches from her as she sat down and leant back in the chair. She heard Ed shut the trunk of the car as her phone began to vibrate in the pocket of her coat. Pulling it out, she knew it had to be Jim. He was the only one with the number of the burner phone.
"Hey, Jim," she greeted him.
"It's not Jim," responded the voice and Olivia's brows furrowed.
"Lee?" she questioned. "What are you doing with Jim's phone?"
"He came around to see me and dropped it," Lee said. "This number was one of his last calls and so I guessed it had to be you considering your current phone number is out of action."
"I've had to use burners," Olivia said to her.
"I get that," Lee said. "Listen, Liv, I wanted to apologise for what I said last night. I didn't mean any of it, not really. I was angry with Jim and I took it out on you. I was hoping that if you're back in the city…well…come round and we can have a drink together. I've missed you, Olivia."
"I've missed you too," Olivia admitted to Lee.
"Then come round," Lee pleaded with her. "Please, I could do with a friend to talk to."
"I…I'll see what I can do," Olivia said as Ed sat in the car and listened to her, shaking his head as he was able to hear Lee on the other end of the car. But Olivia shrugged her shoulders and mouthed 'what else can I do?' to him.
"Perfect. I'll have the tea boiling."
And Lee hung up. Ed groaned and shook his head.
"You can hardly go to Lee's house," he said to her.
"Why not? I'm not going to be any use to you, Ed. I can't shoot a gun…I can't even walk…I'd be more of a hindrance and we both know that I would be safe at Lee's house."
"I want to keep you with me."
"And I'd only act as a burden," Olivia said. "If you insist on going after Penguin then I can't stop you and I know that Penguin is unlikely to give up trying to find you."
Ed sighed and lowered his head. "I was going to take you back to another hotel."
"Just take me to Lee's," Olivia said to him. "Please? If we're going to leave Gotham then I need to say goodbye to her, Jim. I need to do this properly."
Ed sighed, but nodded his head. "You call me if something goes wrong," he demanded from her and she agreed with that.
He drove towards Lee's house and parked up outside. He turned to look to Olivia as she looked at the brownstone house she had shared with Mario. Looking back to Ed, her eyes roamed over his features, drinking in his glimmering eyes and his plump lips as he pushed his glasses further onto his face.
"Are you sure we can't run?" Olivia asked him. "Get new identities…leave Gotham…hell, leave the US."
Ed knew what this was. This was Olivia being scared of what was going to happen to him. He smiled sadly over to her, moving to take hold of her cheek in his hand as he leaned closer to her and bent his head. He kissed her softly, his lips moving over hers as he felt her hand grip onto his neck.
He placed one final peck to her lips before he spoke again. "That sounds tempting," he admitted to her, brushing her hair from her face and tucking it behind her ear. "But I won't rest easy until Penguin is gone from our lives. Only then can we have peace."
"I wouldn't be so sure of that. Jim will kill me."
"You say that, but he wouldn't actually kill you. Penguin would."
"That's what worries me," Olivia admitted to him. "I just…you say how we always end up coming back together? Well, I worry that there is always something that splits us apart."
Ed could see that worry in her face. Draping his arm over the seat of the car, his fingers tickled her shoulder as he scooted closer to her, keeping his other hand in her hair, tickling it softly behind her ear.
"Italy," he said to her and she wondered what he was talking about before he explained. "When I was so deep into what had happened with Kristen…Dougherty…I began to think about if it would be for the best to leave Gotham. I looked at Italy, even found this little house on the coast that I could just about afford. There was a beach…sun…sea…it sounded idyllic, but I never knew how to persuade you to come with me and give up Gotham. But now, when this is all over, I'll take you there, Olivia. We'll go there and make a new life for ourselves."
"Why did you not tell me?" Olivia wondered.
"Because you had a life here," Ed said to her. "And I…I wasn't myself in the end. Things changed and happened and Italy was just a dream. It was a figment of my imagination."
Olivia nodded. "If we could go back, I'd have said yes," she said to him.
He continued to smile sadly. "All I want is you to say yes now," he said and bent down to kiss her once more. She moved a hand to his hair, clinging tightly onto him as he gained access to her mouth and lost himself in her for a few moments, forgetting what he had to do.
He pulled back reluctantly, seeing her flushed cheeks and mussed up hair from where his fingers had tangled into it. "I'll be back for you as soon as we have Penguin. Don't leave Lee's house."
"I won't," she promised him and he kissed her once more.
Stepping out of the car, he assisted her once again and kissed her a final time before she left him and headed up the steps to Lee's house. She looked back to Ed who was looking down to her as she knocked on the door. He hid around the car as she stepped into the house with a final look back at him.
"Liv, I'm so glad you could make it," Lee said, but there was a look in her eye that was strange. "Come in."
Olivia walked into the house, her pace steady as Lee shut the door behind her, a smile forming on her face before she went through to the living room. "Sit down, Liv, you must be tired."
"Oh, I'm fine," Olivia said to her. "It was nice to hear from you, though."
"I'm glad," Lee said, the smile on her face almost too sickly sweet.
Her hair hung straight down her back and she wore a black blouse tucked into her black trousers with heels. She sat down opposite Olivia in the chair across from her, tossing her hair back with a hand as she looked to the other woman. She looked so demure, Lee thought, nothing like the kind of woman who would be seen with Edward Nygma.
"So, I take it you're still with Ed considering you just had your tongue down his throat?"
"You saw that?"
"Hard to miss, Liv," she chuckled back, but the chuckle wasn't normal. It was dark. There was something wrong. There was something terribly wrong and Olivia didn't know what to say to her. "So does this mean you've finally accepted him for the man he is?"
Olivia shrugged. "I don't know," she said, not sure of what she should say to Lee. Because this wasn't Lee.
"You know, I had a similar concern," Lee confessed, waving a nonchalant hand in the air as she folded one leg over the other. "I thought about your brother for a long time. Jim's not perfect, is he, Liv? We both know there is a darkness inside of him and so I guess it would make sense that you were attracted to Ed. You've grown up with someone who has a mean streak."
"Jim's not like that."
"See?" Lee said, her hands waving into the air. "You always did defend him. I never understood that in the beginning, but now I get it. I get it because I know that it's Jim who I want. I want him so much."
"I…I don't understand," Olivia confessed.
"I didn't think you would," Lee said. "But I wanted you here so that I could help you, Liv. That inner turmoil that you feel…that worry you get when you think about loving a man like Ed…I can take it all away. I can make it so that you just want him, so that you accept him for who he is…all the darkness inside of him."
Olivia's spine stiffened and her hairs stood on edge as she sat up straight and moved a hand to the arm of the chair. She pushed herself to her feet. "I should go, Lee. I don't want to put you in danger by being here."
"Oh, Liv," Lee chuckled and shook her head. "Do you think that you can get away? You can hardly walk."
Olivia began to move, limping on her crutches as she went as quickly as she could. But she could hear the clicking of Lee's heels behind her and in a moment she had kicked a crutch from out underneath her. Tumbling to the ground, Olivia groaned in pain as she tried to crawl forwards to the front door. She had to get out. But Lee was kneeling beside her, holding onto her arm, her grip unusually tight and causing Olivia to yell in pain.
"I offer you help and you try and run away?" Lee checked with her. "Olivia, that's just rude manners."
She looked to her face then and she saw it changes. Black lines ran down her cheeks, almost vein like. Olivia shook her head, mouth hanging open. "What…Lee…what's wrong with you?"
"I took Tetch's virus," Lee said to her.
"Why would you do that?" Olivia asked from her. "Lee, this isn't you. You can fight this. You know that you can fight this."
Her eyes darkened and Olivia knew she had said the wrong thing. She chewed down on her tongue as she continued to try and fight her way out of Lee's hold. But the woman was far too strong for her. Olivia was doing her best not to let fear take hold of her. She shouldn't be scared of Lee. Lee was her friend. Lee was her closest friend.
"I can make you feel like I do, Olivia," Lee said. "I can make you feel good about yourself…take away that guilt. The virus showed me who I am. It showed me why I'm so attracted to Jim. It showed me how to give into my deepest desires and I know what I want. I want Jim. Take the virus and you can have the same thing. You can have Ed. You can give in and stop denying yourself."
"No," Olivia said to her. "Lee, I don't need help. Ed…we're going to leave Gotham…try and see if we can work…"
"You say that now," Lee said to her, hair falling into her face. "But it would never work. You know that it would never work because eventually you would let that guilt take over you…guilt for leaving Jim…guilt for being with a man who does bad things."
"But…that's for me to decide."
"But it doesn't have to be," Lee said. "Take the virus and let me help you. I can help you and then you can be with him."
"No," Olivia said sternly and Lee sighed.
Olivia thought that she would give up. Naively, she thought that this would be the end when Lee let go of her arm. She tried to crawl forwards again to the door, needing to escape. But Lee grabbed hold of her hair, one leg either side of her body as she picked her head up with a harsh grip. Olivia tried to reach behind her to pull Lee from her, but the woman bent down and whispered in her ear.
"You'll thank me for this later," she promised her and without second thought, she slammed Olivia's head against the wooden floor, knocking her out cold.
…
A/N: Okay, so this story can now go two ways and I'd love your thoughts about which way - either take the virus or not, let me know your ideas!
