Looking to her brother, Olivia remained sat down on the sofa as Jim paced in front of her. She had one leg folded over the other and was doing her best not to look guilty about what had happened in that apartment earlier on. After she had finished with Ed, she had found herself alone and in Jim's guest bedroom, no sign of him anymore. She did her best not to feel too upset, knowing that he would be the one who would leave without a word. He didn't want her following him. He didn't want her going to the Narrows.

He had a plan and Olivia knew that, but the fact was that she wanted to be a part of the plan. She wanted to help him and be a part of the plan. Jim was also never going to let her go easily either. He was doing everything in his power to make her stay put, but he knew that she was flighty.

"Has there been any news on the killer?" Olivia was the one to break the silence, curling her legs beneath her body and resting her arm on the back of the cushion. Jim took another big gulp of beer and nodded his head.

"There's so many corrupt cops in that precinct that I don't know what to do anymore," Jim complained to his sister. "Whoever is doing this knows the cop's schedules because they've found them easy enough and when they knew they wouldn't be around. He seems to be targeting corrupt officers...so it could be an officer who wants to do the right thing? The pig disguise is pretty good at inducing fear."

"So you think it could be a cop doing this?"

"I don't know, it's just a hunch," Jim said to his sister. "We're keeping things quiet in the precinct. Only Harvey and I have this suspicion…but it…what is that?"

Olivia's brow furrowed as her brother suddenly stopped his pacing in front of the sofa. She followed his eyeline and pointed finger towards the end of the sofa and cursed herself silently. She lunged across the sofa and found the tie peeking out from underneath the sofa. Grasping the green material, she shrugged and stood up, pushing it into the pocket of the joggers she was wearing.

"Nothing," Olivia said to Jim. "Must have just gotten tangled up in my stuff while I was packing and unpacking."

"You can't kid me, Liv," Jim said and she picked up on the disappointment in his tone alongside annoyance. "He was here, wasn't he?"

"No."

"And you can't lie," Jim retorted and Olivia rolled her eyes, now taking her turn to begin pacing in the living room. She settled on heading to the kitchen and grabbing a mug, making a cup of tea as Jim huffed and moved to follow her through.

"Just tell me the truth," Jim said to his sister. "Just tell me that he was here."

"Fine," Olivia relented. "He was here, are you happy now?"

"What was he doing?" Jim questioned.

"He just wanted to make sure I was fine."

"And he had to take his tie off to do that?" Jim continued his pushing and Olivia rolled her eyes and placed the kettle on the stove, turning it on and waiting patiently for the water to boil.

"Maybe he did," Olivia retorted. "It's…he's…you know what my plan is, Jim. You know that I've made my decision. I made my decision as soon as I saved him from Penguin. We're endgame, Jim. That's all there is to it."

Jim groaned and placed his bottle down on the worktop, folding his arms and crinkling his white shirt in the process. "You know that I'm not going to let that happen, don't you? I'm serious, Liv. He's no good for you. He'll only hurt you."

"Then that's the decision I am taking. I'm done playing games."

"You-"

Jim was cut off as he heard a knock on the front door. Olivia turned around, leaning back against the worktop and folding her arms, waiting for the kettle to boil. She took her turn to fold her arms then and jutted her chin out in the direction of the door. "You best get that."

"We're not finished here," Jim warned her and Olivia watched him retreat as the banging on the door continued followed by Harvey's voice. She listened in as she heard that there had been a sighting of the man wearing a pig's head at some abandoned factory. Olivia waited for Jim to come and tell her himself. Harvey waited outside as Jim grabbed his suit jacket from the back of the dining chair in the open planned living space. He shrugged into it and spoke to Olivia quickly.

"We might have a lead on where Nakajima is going to be," he informed his sister. "Some factory downtown. I'll be back soon."

"Aren't you going to call for backup?"

"If this is a cop then we can't risk backup coming," Jim said to his sister. "I'll be back soon, alright? Just stay here and promise me you're not going to go running after Ed."

"I promise that I won't tonight," Olivia said to him. "Just…tell me where you're going."

"I'll give you the location when I'm there and will call as soon as I'm done."

"Promise?"

"Promise," Jim said.

"Alright," Olivia said, not entirely happy with her brother running off into danger, but she couldn't stop him. This was his job. He was never going to change and she was never going to change him. She nodded her head once and he gave her a final nod before leaving her alone in the apartment, chasing after Harvey. Olivia felt the silence engulf her and she knew that, no matter what happened with her and Jim, she would always worry about him. She would always care because he was her brother and he was always going to be everything to her.

Olivia had been right to be worried about Jim. Whoever had killed the cops had planted a trap for Jim and Harvey. Harvey's throat had been slit and Jim had just about managed to stem the bleeding to keep him stable. He was sat by his bedside and Olivia had taken him a change of clothes before she went back to the Narrows, wanting to see Ed and find out what he was doing. Jim wanted to know why Harvey was taking Penguin's money. Why else would the Pyg try to kill him? The killer was still on the loose and Jim was going back to work as soon as Harvey woke up and they had a conversation about everything. But Penguin had other ideas. He was going to get involved and Jim didn't like that idea, but he had no other option but to let Penguin take control.

"I told him that he should have left you alone, but he never listens."

Olivia had been on her way out of the Narrows when she heard that familiar voice. Turning her head over her shoulder, her curled hair fell down her side and her brows furrowed. Lee Thompkins was walking towards her with her hands in the pockets of the fitted black trousers she wore. A black blouse was tucked into their waistband and black heels were on her feet. Her hair was straightened and she now had a fringe. She looked different to what Olivia remembered.

"He wouldn't do that," Olivia retorted. "And I didn't want him to leave me alone. Besides, I seem to remember it was you who told me to make up my mind."

"I wasn't myself."

"No? Not even when you were locking me up in a coffin and burying me alive?"

"I'm not proud of that."

Olivia faced her head on now, crossing her legs together at the ankles and folding her arms over her chest. She kept her gaze narrowed at Lee, not entire comfortable with being so close to her after what had gone on between the two of them. She thought that she was her friend. She thought that she might have been her sister-in-law one day. They had been so close.

"You know what that virus can do, Liv," Lee said to her. "I'm not defending my actions, but you know the power that the virus can have. It ruined lives…and it ruined lives here in the Narrows. That's why I'm here. I know I can't make things right with you and Jim, but I can try and do something."

"Very good of you," Olivia said dryly, not entirely wanting to have this conversation with Lee. She found herself still wary of her. How could she not be after what had transpired? "And have you seen, Ed?"

"He's in his room…squatting there," Lee said to her. "He's not exactly…"

"Ed?" Olivia supplied the word she was looking for.

"Yeah, Ed," Lee agreed on that point with her. "I'm trying to help him, but he…well…I'm waiting to see what happens."

"You think you can help him?"

"I'm doing what I can," Lee said. "But that doesn't mean that you should hold out hope…because if I help him and it works…if he gets his mind back…it doesn't mean that you should run off with him."

Olivia looked to the sky. She didn't need this. She didn't need another lecture from Lee after continuously receiving them from her brother. "Spare me the talk," Olivia said, holding a hand up and urging her to stop. "Just tell me where Ed is. I'm here to see him."

"In that building…apartment twenty-two," she said. "But you shouldn't do this, Liv. You should leave and just go back to Jim."

"I'll see you round, Lee," Olivia said, not bothering to respond to her concerns.

She moved into the apartment block and Lee didn't stop her. Taking the steps up to the apartment on the second floor, she knocked on the door with number twenty-two and heard footsteps on the other side of the door. It was another few moments before it opened and she saw Ed stood in front of her, dressed in loose black joggers with a white top, his glasses cocked on his nose.

"Liv, how did you find me?" Ed demanded, grabbing her arm and pulling her into the apartment, shutting the door and putting the bolt across. "It's not safe here. Penguin is still looking for me."

"Lee told me you were here. She also told me she has agreed to help you."

"True," Ed said. "But you still shouldn't be here. I told you to stay away."

"And I told you that I could come and help you," Olivia said. "And that is why I am here, Ed. So…stop pushing me away. Besides, how did you even find this place?"

"It's the Narrows," Ed said as if that was an obvious response. "Anyone can take what they want so long as they have the means to hold onto it. No one was in here so I took it. It's not much, but it has hot water and a bed."

Olivia looked around the space. There was no denying that it wasn't exactly homely. The walls were cracked with paint and the carpets stained and rolled up around the corners of the room to reveal the rotting floorboards underneath. She could also smell something odd as well, but she didn't comment on that.

"Did Lee tell you how long she thinks it might take to help you?"

"Not as of yet," Ed responded and Olivia moved over to the window. The blind was pulled down. She peered out from behind it and Ed watched the back of her, his gaze running from the black jumper she wore to the black skirt and tights on her legs with her ankle boots. "But you should go home."

"I don't want to go home," Olivia defended herself. I'm fine here."

"But you're not," Ed said. "You are safer back with Jim."

Olivia shook her head. "Jim's not around. He's busy hunting for the Pyg…turns out there are too many corrupt cops in the GCPD who are working for Penguin and Pyg is finding them and dealing with them in his own way."

"At least your brother will be safe. He'd never work for Penguin."

"True, but still doesn't stop me from worrying," Olivia responded and turned around to look at him, her eyes meeting his and she folded her arms around herself and shrugged. "I know we have our moments…we fight like hell…he doesn't agree with what I do…I don't agree with what he does…but I still love him. Whatever we've done…we've always forgiven each other."

"He loves you, that's why. He loves you regardless of anything, just like you love him."

"He's trying to stop me from leaving with you," Olivia said to Ed. "We should have known that would happen."

"Seems obvious."

"And he found your tie in the apartment last night," Olivia said. "You left it behind."

"I couldn't find it and didn't want to spend time looking and making a noise."

"Well, it was under the sofa," Olivia said and she stood in front of Ed, lifting her chin up and looking at him as he moved a finger to her cheek, moving to stroke along her jawbone softly. "I have it in my suitcase ready to give back to you."

"Didn't want to bring it back today?"

"I forgot about it," Olivia whispered and Ed nodded. "Other things on my mind…brother chasing a serial killer…you being in trouble…"

"Just like old times," Ed said and Olivia couldn't stop herself from smirking at that as she grasped hold of Ed by the shoulders, holding tightly onto him and he wrapped a free arm around her waist. She moved until her cheek was pressed against his chest and he dropped his head to let his cheek settle on top of her head. He moved a hand to her hair, stroking his fingers through it gently and slowly.

"You know that Penguin is quite distracted right now," Olivia said to Ed and he nodded his head against her. "Do you think that…maybe…we deal with him now while he isn't on top of his game?"

Ed wondered where this had come from. He pulled back from her slightly, but kept a hand on her hips, his other hand brushing her hair behind her ear gently. She continued to watch him and shrugged her shoulders.

"I hate being back here," Olivia said to him with a grimace on her face and Ed sighed, his breath coming out shakily. "I hate being back here…there's nothing here that makes me happy, that makes me want to stay. Jim will do everything he can to stop me from leaving with you, but I'm tired of him trying to control me. He forced me to fake m own death to leave here, but this time it's my choice. I want us to go and I want us to go quickly."

Ed nodded. "I want that too, Liv," he promised her in a gentle whisper, bending his head down so that he was eye level with her and she took hold of his hand that had sat against her cheek. Squeezing his fingers tightly, she looked into his eyes. "But I need to get better and then I can stop Penguin. I have to stop him otherwise we have no chance of being together…not peacefully, anyway."

"I wish someone would just deal with him for us."

Ed chuckled. "It's my job to deal with him, Liv. After what he did to you, no one else gets to deal with him."

Olivia had reluctantly gone home after Ed had told her that he had to get ready for that night. He was involved in some kind of fighting ring, Grundy being his competitor. He was making enough money to pay Lee to help him and to keep some from himself. Olivia didn't entirely like what he was doing, especially when he told her that he was mocking Penguin as well. Olivia had warned him that it was best not to provoke Penguin, but he hadn't listened to her. But then Lee had told him the same thing. There was still some of the old Lee inside of her; the responsible doctor who thought before acting.

It had been a few days since Olivia had last seen Ed and she had stayed away from the Narrows. She had looked online for her own place, knowing that it might be best if she was going to stay around for a while. Jim was still working on the Pyg case, but he was in deep, especially now that he had been asked to become Captain. He could succeed from Harvey if he wanted to. The main issue was that he didn't entirely know if he wanted to.

Olivia had watched her brother head off to work early that morning before she had gone to shower and change. She tucked her hair behind her ear before hearing a bang from the room next door. Olivia stopped what she was doing, looking over her shoulder and to the bedroom door. She heard footsteps and instantly she became alert. Something wasn't right. Moving around her bedroom slowly, she padded to the dresser. She moved a hand to the handle, but before she could pull the drawer open, the familiar voice entered the room.

"Hey, Liv, long time no see."

Olivia froze, hand on the wooden handle. She bowed her head and pulled at the towel she wore wrapped around her midriff.

"What are you doing here?" Olivia demanded.

"Your boyfriend is causing quite a problem," she said. "Step away from the dresser, Liv."

"I just wanted to get some clean clothes," Olivia protested.

But the woman wasn't stupid. She moved forwards and Olivia had no choice but to step aside, noticing the golden gun gleaming in Barbara's hand. She stepped back and Barbara opened the drawer, digging around inside of it and pulling out the hidden gun underneath sweatshirts. Dangling it over a finger, Barbara turned around to look at Olivia.

"Clothes? Really?"

"You broke into my apartment, Barbara. Why would I not go for the gun?"

"Technically, it's not your apartment." Barbara said. "And I would have thought that you would be feeling nicer."

"Well, we haven't exactly gotten on, have we?"

"You're not wrong," Barbara agreed with her. "But you see, I need you to actually just do as I ask this time. Ed's causing quite a bit of trouble in the Narrows with that show of his where he mocks Penguin."

"How is that your issue?"

"I have a debt to pay to Penguin. He wants Ed."

"And you think that you can get to Ed through me?"

"Well, we are intending on settling it in the ring, but that might not go to plan. Consider yourself Plan B."

"I'm insulted I'm not Plan A."

"Don't flatter yourself." Barbara urged her and grabbed a sweatshirt from the open drawer before finding a pair of jeans. "Now, get changed. I'm on a tight schedule."

"Do I have another choice?"

"Of course," Barbara said, holding her gun in the air and Olivia rolled her eyes before getting changed, knowing that her options were limited.
