This was probably one of the worst ideas I've come up with. I was on my way to an old building now half a mile away to check if Fennu or at least any of his men were still using the area as a camp. No one knew that I was even here. Not Po, the five or Shifu. Matter of fact, I've disobeyed an order from the red raccoon... for the second time in two days. Looking on the bright side, this was more of a reconnaissance mission. A quick check and back out again. Easy as that. So at least I wouldn't have to fight, hopefully. Even if I did, the small cuts along my body would make it hard to do so.
At last, I met my target. The crumbling structure was but a stones throw away. As it was still early in the morning, security around here should be at a minimum.
First things first, I checked the window at the side, on the left side of the door. A lot of dirt had gathered on the inside of the window but I could still make out most of the room. There was a wooden door to the right and unlike the other rooms that this place had, this one was rectangular, but small. Only a few meters across. The only thing that could be noted was a bed right beside the window with fresh looking sheets. Someone was here, or at least spent the morning here. I climbed up using the old posts sticking out of the cobblestone layout. In a way, it reminded me a lot of the assassins creed game I used to play but was never able to beat.
The cone based roof above provided a big enough entrance to enter from the top. Most of the tiles were missing, probably destroyed or taken, showing the roof to be nothing but wooden beams. I slithered through one of the large holes and found myself to be in some sort of lookout post. The floor beneath me was made of wooden planks and an old wool mat covered half of the floor.
Having to be cautious, I slithered down the spiral of stairs until I found the next door. The ground floor. I opened up the room. A hallway with two doors on either side. I suppose I would need to check them all.
I opened the first door on my left. It was a circular room, similar to the one I had been held in. I must be in the prison part of the building. Nothing and no one was inside, nothing important at least, so I opened the door opposite it. This room had an old set of chains hanging on the far side of the circular room and to the side, a rather large hole. This must have been the room I was held in. Looking in the next room, the one which shared the hole in the wall, seemed just as empty apart from scattered rubble and crushed stone from the impact of Fennu's hammer. Last but not least, the final room.
I opened the door, this one came with a creak. Inside, there were chains and an old pair of stocks. The one window above was covered so it was much darker inside. I wonder why only this room had curtains drawn. I walked a little further into the room. A huge mistake. The door shut behind me. Something tells me it wasn't the wind that did it.
I looked in every direction, but the light shining through the door had gone and I was left to rely on sound. The only thing I could hear was something scraping against the stone wall to the left of me. I got ready to pounce, in case whoever it was was planning to do the same.
Quickly, I leapt at the noise. I ended up hitting my snout on the wall. Ouch.
Everything had gone quiet. Clearly whoever was in here with me knew that I was a fighter. I waited for even the slightest noise, but nothing came. At least not until I got hit in the head with something metal.
*DONK*
I fell to the floor in defeat.
...
"Useless. You should have known better than to come alone".
"I did what was necessary. I don't see what a more decent man could have done".
"Idiot. Always trying to prove yourself. Now look where it's gotten you".
"...".
"That's what I thought. You're no son of mine".
...
My eyes shot open and I let out a gasp. I... I don't know where I was. Only that I was chained up again. Great. In front of me, was none other than the black feline herself, Yinshen.
"About time you woke up".
"Oh goody, it's you again". I spoke with sarcasm.
"Oh don't be like that. You should be thankful you're still alive".
"Where am I, strung back up in the old hut I presume"? I asked. But to my surprise, She was laughing. "What's so funny"?
"You're not at the old hut anymore. Not like I could stay after you decided to come snooping round".
"So... where am I"? The room I was in was made of stone and steel. It seemed that I had been moved to a more secure location.
"Welcome to the Galadriel gates".
"...What"?
...
Ahhh, I'm so sorry for the short chapter. Things have been hectic lately for me and this was the best I could do for the time being. Plus, I suppose it was a good place to end the chapter. So some of you may be wondering why Mike had been taken to the Galadriel gates and how he arrived there so quickly. All will be explained in the next chapter, so don't worry, nothing has been left out. Cheerio!
