After a defeated battle with the godhand instead of feasting on his corpse the apostle were too terrified of guts and send him to a new universe where he believes he is making a difference but in reality he isn't. Of course Guts is always a struggler… M for Berserk (RubyXGutsXCasca) Rewrite in progress!

Chapter start

Guts woke up and heard a call from the room next door

"To class!"

Guts looked up to his scroll and saw it was 6:55 am he had his first class with Glynda at 8.

Guts got dressed and walked to the cafe had his food and into the combat arena.

While he walked campus he noticed that everyone was staring at him weirdly.

What was it like trained huntsmen aren't expected to carry weapons on them 24/7?

Guts entered the Arena and found Glynda typing on a scroll down on the floor.

"Good morning Guts." She said as she looked up and her smile dropped

"Guts, is there something wrong with your locker?" She asked

Guts quirked his eyebrow "not that I know of." He said

Glynda sighed "Please in that case use it to store your weapons in we don't want to have an incident in the hallways don't we?" Glynda asked

"I thought, I was just supposed to be a ready for class at a moment's notice." Guts said

Glynda went to argue but then paused

"You know I actually believe that there might be a better option considering your skills, how about this, At lunch I'll ask the headmaster, for now when the first class comes in you watch what I do, they are third years so they've done this before, the next class is 2nd years and I'd like you to Give notes on there combat style's and how to improve." Glynda said

Guts nodded "I can accept that." He said

Glynda nodded and went back to typing.

Ruby wasn't having a good day.

Sure her day was fine most of her classes were good and easy. Some of them made no sense to her after all why history? I mean sure mostly they talked about tactics used in historical battles. That is if the teacher Dr. Oobleck would stay on track.

Other people said he was fast

To Ruby he was slow.

Dull

Boreing.

Hushed already copied the notes down from the board solved the problem that he lead the class with that they had to solve by the end and she didn't find his lecture on the supposed "flower of life" all that interesting.

Ruby had considered taking a nap but that was busted when Weiss elbowed her in the head making her grunt.

Then the Dr. Had asked her to answer the question

To be fair she knew the answer. It was fucking easy it's why it's in Vale's Emblem. But she didn't want to seem like a know it all so she took the loss and said she didn't know.

Dr Oobleck didn't look happy about that and asked to see her after class.

Ruby sighed looking at the rest of the team got mixed reactions obviously Weiss was upset at her leader getting in trouble.

Yang was looking at Ruby in pity as she knew what Ruby was doing.

Blake looked impassive looking at the Dr.

With one outlook completely discarded Ruby went to another option. One that honestly terrified but excited her.

Masturbation. In class.

Ruby started to rub herself under her skirt and kept quiet a firm impassive face while doing it.

However Ruby could tell Weiss's ire was growing so chose to stop.

She'd pay for that later.

Finally the bell rang and Ruby got up and went to leave with her team

"Ms rose." Dr. Oobleck said

Ruby rolled her eyes 'fuck I forgot.'

Ruby nodded to her team "you go on ahead to Dist application. I'll catch up." Ruby said

She walked down the lecture hall stairs and stood before the Teachers desk

"Yes Dr.?" Ruby asked

"Ms Rose I'm not as thick as you may seem. So I'm going to ask. Why didn't you answer my question truthfully?"

Ruby sighed

"I didn't want to be seen as a know-it-all. My semblance is great don't get me wrong, but having it also makes me feel as if I'm on cheat mode sometimes. I can do abstract math in my head faster than someone can aim a gun. I can figure out it's trajectory, it's path, and how much power it has on it in a blink and I can move fast enough to draw my weapon and fire to be able to hit said projectile out of the line of fire of the would be target or into another. If I do wished

I don't want to come off as arrogant but the reason I nearly fell asleep in your class wasn't because it was uninteresting but because I was bored." Ruby said

"I didn't ask as to why you tried to alleviate your boredom Ms Rose I asked why you didn't answer?" The Dr said

Ruby was confused

Dr. Oobleck sighed "I know my students think I'm hyperactive and I'm unable to slow down the fact Is for them I am slowing down. But I don't need to for you so I can actually speak clearly for once let it be sir I'm not angry. Nor am I disappointed. I'm just wanting to tell you if you need to talk to anyone about your issue with speed I'm here." Dr. Oobleck said

The fact that he said that in a single sentence and faster than a second didn't matter to Ruby.

She had someone to talk to. Someone who understood the problem of going too fast.

Ruby hugged the Dr.

"Thank you and I will." Ruby said as she turned around to leave before turning back

"Oh…the solution to the problem at the beginning of class." Ruby said as she put her paper on his desk as he looked up

"From class? It's unsolvable? Having to choose between a city's citizens and to kill your greatest enemy knowing if you let them go millions more will die while you die to save the citizens." Oobleck said

Ruby smiled "look up why people choose to be huntsmen." Ruby said over her shoulder as she left

Oobleck was shocked as he read what she wrote

"I'd choose the city every time. Sure I'd die and it be a small victory sure, but the fact is that any one of those people who I save can become a hero for the next city, and even if they die someone will hopefully pick up the mantle again. With the hope that someday everyone can get behind the common goal and we all rise up to overwhelm the greatest evil. And while I might not live to see it. It would be an honor to be apart of something so monumental."

Oobleck dropped the letter and had a smile a tear of joy in his eye.

"That girls a genius…" he said to himself.

Ruby made her way to Dust application and found that class had started.

She looked and saw all the seats were filled, say for one. In the back with no one to talk to.

Ruby sighed as she sat down and started to write.

The idea of dust application was easy once she got the hang of it. Of course being able to think at the speed of light didn't hurt; it just meant that she was able to take longer in pondering solution's than others. It didn't mean she had a genius level intelligence. She just took less time as others saw it. To her she'd take the same amount of time as they would say but to them they blink and it's solved.

So she got dust application figured out by the time the teacher finished Her introducing.

Leaving Ruby to find a way to starve off boredom

Oh well back to edging.

Luckily the table was high enough to hide her hands. As she listened

It was one of the few classes where Weiss didn't seem pissed upon leaving.

Then there was lunch which had nearly stumble into Guts. And left her running away in shame as she couldn't stop blushing.

Then her teammates who had seen the incident teased her.

Except Weiss who looked angry again for some reason

'What did she think she stole her thunder?'

Ruby didn't care she just wanted this day over.

Finally the last class after lunch was Port. But she had Wilderness survival to get through first.

There was a test which was easy for Ruby.

Then a practical portion which was easy however it meant she was unable to touch herself as she was standing the entire time.

Ruby also noticed that despite being only edged twice her arousal had grown during the survival class.

She was getting needy again

'Fuck!' Ruby thought in a panic as she made her way to the bathroom to quickly rub one out.

As Ruby was getting close she felt her scroll vibrate which pulled her away agitated

It was from Wiess

"Dolt where are you? You're going to be late for Professor Ports class. If your late I swear I will smeer vengeance on you. And if you think that's bad I'll embarrass you in front of Guts.

Ruby sighed most of what she said was empty threats however she couldn't consider her being embarrassed in front of Guts he'd never want to talk to her again.

Ruby made the heart wrenching decision to stop herself just before orgasm and go to class.

Ruby sighed 'if this keeps up I might have to chasity myself back up.' Ruby thought

Ruby groaned at the implication of what she thought and sure enough immediately afterwards her nipples were rock hard

So hard they poked through the top of her Dress.

Ruby growled she'd have to deal with it. As she walked to class holding her cloak over her nipples

Ruby entered the classroom and saw Weiss looking livid as Ruby sat down

"Hey guys." Ruby said

"Ruby why are you?" Yang asked looking over to her sister

Under her cloak she saw the rock hard nipples

Yang looked back "nevermind."

Weiss also looked over but instead of having pity or anything she just dismissed it.

That hurt.

Ruby tried to destract herself during the class like the previous ones this time trying not to edge so instead she focused on Drawing, balancing her stuff on her head and whatnot.

This didn't end so well. As Weiss made the demonstration against the boartusk.

As Ruby tried to help she was tempted to immediately yell out the stomach weakness but chose to hold out thinking that Weiss wouldn't much appreciate her input immediately without giving herself anytime to focus on strategy herself.

Eventually Weiss looked as if she was in trouble Ruby finally gave her advice.

Only to be yelled back for it.

Ruby winched and shrank down to her the feeling of being a know it all and loser was right. Weiss didn't want her as a teammate. She probably didn't want to talk to her.

All throughout the rest of the fight Ruby's mind spun around different scenarios as to how Wiess would respond.

Ruby looked over to Yang and Blake

Blake still looked impassive

Yang gave her a quavery thumbs up.

Ruby sighed as she left to be a leader.

Ruby walked after Weiss

"Weiss what is wrong?" Ruby asked

"What's wrong? What's wrong is that you're what's wrong." She said

"What are you saying?" Ruby asked

"Your childish! you don't pay attention! You don't do anything the teachers say! I'd not even call you a student!" Weiss said as she spun around

Ruby sighed knowing something else was bothering her. Not just what she was saying so she pushed on.

"Weiss, come on tell me what is wrong." Ruby said

Weiss sighed "look. I came to Beacon to learn and to do my very best, then I got teamed up with a child. But I made a promise to myself that I'd be the best teammate possible. That includes telling you if I believe you are wrong." Weiss said

She huffed "I believe Ozpin made a mistake." She said as she started to walk away.

"Wait what Weiss!" Ruby called after her but Weiss was already gone.

Ruby's arm sagged.

"Well that didn't go so well." A voice said behind Ruby as she turned to reveal Ozpin

"Is she right? Did you make a mistake?" Ruby asked

Ozpin sighed "Ms Rose. I've made more mistakes than every man woman and child on this earth. But I don't consider your placement to be one of them." Ozpin said

"But I haven't done anything." Ruby argued.

Ozpin sighed

"Ms Rose Do you know why Guts was in the courtyard the day your class arrived?" He asked

Ruby didn't say anything and allowed Ozpin to countune.

"I've gotten reports that huntsmen were dying and I'd fear that something else was happening." Ozpin said

"I had Guts make a list of all those who he thought would be a good fit for Beacon or at least Survive initiation, out of the 200 people in your class only 8 passed his examination." He said

Ruby paused trying to wonder who the 8 were.

7 just barely scrapped by as he worded it. But one just one he told me had exceeded his expectations and among everyone else Deserved to be here despite everything else. Can you guess who he was referring to?" Ozpin asked

Ruby was tempted to say Weiss but then she remembered she got here two years early and Guts hadn't been as hostile or at least distance with her as everyone else.

Suddenly her mind clicked. It was her! right?

Ruby unable to accept it as fact tentatively held her hand towards herself.

Ozpin nodded.

"You have the chance to be a great huntress Ms Rose. Maybe even the best. But you have to strive for it." Ozpin said as he left

Ruby sighed feeling a lot better now "I deserved to be here." She said to herself to pump herself up

'Wait…what did He say? I strive for it?' Ruby thought

Suddenly she thought back to the forest to what Guts said "…struggle against your bonds. Your limits, and your Dreams. For it's only when you break those dreams can you be considered free." Ruby heard Guts voice said in her mind

Ruby looked over to the sunset "I need to strive for it." She said

Ruby clenched her fist alright. No more hiding. She hid behind her insecurities enough. Now it's time she embraced it. She won't hide her powers anymore. If people can't keep up they just have to move faster.

Move over, world Ruby Rose is taking you by storm.

Ruby spun around her cloak billowing expelling Rose petals dramatically as she walked away.

Unknown to her or anyone other than Guts and Ozpin. Ruby's Aura got a hint brighter.

Guts sighed as he had left the arena. He'd just gotten the TA confirmation. And apparently because of this Ozpin needed a meeting with him for "orientation" whatever that meant.

At least now he was able to buy Dust for his cannon.

Of course the other problem was the fact that not a lot of people in Beacon deserved to be there.

Fuck even in the second year class only one team stood out as passable.

The rest were fodder and it was pure dumb luck they survived the entry exam in general.

The team that "impressed him." Was team CFVY.

And even then he was relentless into tearing into them.

"Your spending too much time defending your teammate when you should be going on the offensive." Guts spoke to Fox who during the match was protecting Velvet.

He tore into Coco about being a bad leader for letting the team go off on their own. Uncoordinated,

The only one who he didn't tear into was Velvet.

Mostly because she didn't do anything

The other because overall he noticed she wanted to fight. But Coco didnt let her.

Also the fact that she had hidden potential.

Back at the dorm Blake and Yang spoke with Weiss who had already had her talk with Professor Port.

The only issue…Ruby was still not been seen sense class.

Yang was getting worried

"Weiss you better hope Ruby comes back before curfew otherwise." Yang started

"Yang shut up…do you smell that guys?" Blake asked

"What are you talking about I don't smell any- Rose petals?" Weiss asked

"Yang does Ruby's semblance smell of roses when she uses it?" Blake asked

Yang shook her head "during the use the wind is so fast you can't smell it. But afterwards definitely." Yang said pausing before looking at the door.

"But never this strong."

Suddenly the door was kicked up and Ruby strode in

"Alright listen up I've done some thinking." Ruby said

"You? think?" Weiss asked curious but not trying to be insultive.

Ruby glared at her.

"I admit I haven't been a really good leader. I've been disorganized. I've let you do your own thing. Fuck I've not actually set a good example last night." Ruby said

"That's different!" Blake tried to argue

Ruby raised her hand "it matters not what matters is it's true.

As well as I've been neglecting my studies too. Instead of trying to hide my powers to make it easier for people to deal with me I'm letting the fuck go!" Ruby said

"I'll be the best damn leader you've ever had and we will strive for greatness something that I know your capable of." Ruby said

All three looked unconvinced

"No longer will you just skirt by with simple grades Yang. And Weiss I know you put 110 percent effort into your school work and studies but you need to work that with your training as well. And Blake…please be more social, we don't bite." Ruby said

The three girls looked shocked but nodded as Blake said

"I'll…try."

Ruby smiled "that's all I ask and I. Return I won't need to use this." Ruby said holding up the steel whistle she used before

"As such I believe a ceremony is in order." Ruby said as she hung the Steel device by its string letting it dangle before it dropped on the carpet

The girls looked at it stunned.

Was that it?

Bam!

Ruby slammed her foot down on it using her semblance breaking it so it would never be used again.

Ruby sighed "now with that done I'm off to bed I assume you girls had dinner?"

They nodded stunned by Ruby's actions

"Cool, I won't have to cook then." Ruby said as she took a shower.

"Ruby question?" Weiss asked

"Yes Weiss?" Ruby asked

"Um… I know Yang explained the downside of your semblance…does that mean."

"I have no control of it in class either, yes." Ruby said

Weiss nodded "okay cool…I Um…yeah knowing that I did mean the embarrass you in front of Guts as a joke." Weiss said

"Ok good thanks for the clarification Weiss." I'm serious about you focusing on training though." Ruby said

Weiss was shocked "huh but I'm one of the best." Weiss said

"But you could be so much more! Don't hold yourself to everyone else's standards they just bog you down. Hold yourself to the full standard you know your capable of." Ruby said as she put both hands on Wiess's shoulders as she stepped out of the shower forgetting she was naked.

Weiss nodded "your right Ruby thanks and to be fair I won't be so critical of your actions anymore as leader." She said

"Please do actually I don't need yes women following me around like a band I need a voice of reason somewhere," Ruby said

Weiss giggled at the thought of Ruby leading her team like a marching band. And herself off to the side belting at the three to shut up.

Weiss looked down and realized Ruby was naked

Not only that but Ruby's Nipples we're very very hard.

"Ruby your naked." Weiss said

Ruby nodded "yes I am, do you mind leaving so I can get dressed?" She said

Weiss nodded reaching for the door.

"Just know Ruby. Same either of us…if you need to just tell me." Weiss said

Ruby smiled but this time more sadly.

"I don't want to be rude to you so often Weiss." Ruby said

Weiss sighed

"You dolt…but your our dolt, we will take care of you." Weiss said as she finally left.

Weiss sighed as she slid down the door

She reached down her own dress and found her pure blue panties wet.

'Must've been the steam.' Weiss through as she stood up and got ready for bed herself.

Guts in the meantime looked over the paperwork for being a Combat instructor TA. It seemed easy. He could do it easily and still be a student too. However it won't be finalized until later. As he gave up and went to bed.

The next day was combat Class for first years.

Once again Guts came in wearing his Armor

He looked around and found everyone else had there school clothes on.

Guts rolled his eyes at the Stupidity of making this a 'Student safe space first, Combat arena to the death second.'

"Ah Guts you're here. Good then we can begin. Welcome everyone of you to combat class. My name is Glynda Goodwitch and I'll be your instructor.

This class is for those looking to improve their skills. And become better huntsman.

So who here believes they are up to the task?" Glynda asked to a silent crowd

Guts started to sit in a seat but Glynda called him out

"Don't Sit down just yet Guts." She said making Guts look up

"Seeing as your fully ready for combat why don't you come down and give us…a demonstration?" She said

Guts sighed and made his way down to the arena. And stand beside Glynda.

Once in the arena He unslung the Dragonslayer and planted it down on the floor; the force was enough to crack the floor.

Goodwitch looked irritated at this but said nothing as she turned to the rest of the class.

"Who here would wish to take on Guts?" Glynda asked

"I mean team CRDL is game, but i'm wondering where the rest of the losers team is? Are they so good as to say they don't need to be here?" Cardin Winchester The leader of the aforementioned team asked

This got people talking but just as Glynda was about to defuse the situation Guts spoke up

"I don't have a team. At this point they would just slow me down."

At this the crowd erupted

"what?!"

"No team?!"

"DUMBASS YOU'RE NOT INVINCIBLE!"

"let me at him let me put him in his place!" The crowd roared

Guts however was testing there reactions and safe to say…he was unimpressed.

'There is anger, yes but they are not using it to drive them.' This will be a slaughter.' Guts thought

The only two teams that didn't say anything were team JNPR and RWBY. Rwby because they know Guts combat capabilities and to be honest he kinda scared them. And JNPR or at least Pyrrha because that would be hypocritical.

Goodwitch looked over to Guts "I hope you know what you're doing." She said before she stepped forward

"Ok we will have one person to come down and fight Guts." Glynda said

"No need." Guts said making Glynda turn on her heels stunned

"I'll fight all of them." He said with a wolffish smile.

Glynda was shocked are you sure?" but Guts nodded "very well the battle of Guts vs teams CRDL, STAR, GOLD, VLOT, and TREE will begin. Teams please get your weapons and meet in the arena.

Behind Glynda, Guts limbered up rolling his shoulder's

Finally all 16 opponents got to the arena as Guts stood near the Dragonslayer.

Those who were in the stands were commenting on how absurd the sword he held was and that he couldn't swing it.

However Glynda stepped forward silenting dissidents

"The battle is about to begin, everyone ready?" Glynda asked

"Begin!" She snapped

Guts reacted quickly grabbing Dragonslayer and taking a heavy swing over his head and leaping into the air. And coming down on the group.

"Scatter!" Someone yelled as they obeyed

Guts fell upon them and with a swing cracked the ground underneath him and with a backhand sent two people out of the arena by ring out.

"Holy shit!" Yang said

"That's one heavy weapon!" Blake said

Weiss looked over to Ruby who was drooling at the weapon.

"What did you do?" Weiss asked her

"Made the weapon he asked for." Ruby said simply in awe

Several people charged at Guts and while he was able to parry every strike he couldn't counter because someone new would pop up in his side.

'Yes…this is what I live for…the swinging of my sword… the clashing of battle… this is my home.' Guts thought

Suddenly without even realizing it he had started to speed up. Moving quicker and quicker as he was activating his aura without realizing it.

Guts was a blur of motion not even his opponents could keep up. "Everyone get back, keep him moving to tire him out!" Someone yelled

Only that Guts wasn't getting tired. He didn't slow.

Team Rwby and JNPR were at the edge of their seats waiting for Guts to falter…

Except he never did. The only one not intently watching was Ruby. But that's because she could follow everything anyways.

'Wow Guts is moving as fast to keep up with me' she thought.

In the end the fight didn't last over 2 minutes as Guts came out victorious without a single scratch on him.

"Winner is Guts." Glynda said

Guts looked over at the students. Disappointed

"That was pathetic even if you individually all did quite well, but the issue is the fact you're not coordinated. Each and every one of you has the strength to overpower me. Each and everyone of you has the speed to keep up with me, and each and everyone of you has the power to beat me." Guts paused

"So why is it I am the only one standing while everyone else is lying on their back licking your wounds?!" He yelled

"You're here to go about learning to be huntsman but this is also a school, use this time to learn from your peers. Grow together, laugh together, fight, love and learn together. If you can't figure these things out then you don't deserve to be huntsmen and you might as well go home you'll only get those you care about killed." Guts said as he headed back. Only for The clicking of Glynda's heels to make him pause

The students though maybe she'd argue with guts for the thrashing or defend them from his insults.

Except they got something far from that.

"Good speech Guts, crude but effective. However I have a few pointers for you as well." Glynda said

Guts stopped and turned around waiting for her assessment.

"Clearly you're the best one here trained in combat, I'll give you that. However I've noticed a few things from your fight I saw. One You're way too reckless, I've seen you tank hits that you clearly could have dodged just so you can get a good hit on your opponent. Don't get me wrong with your aura, it's clearly a viable strategy. But only one or two of those at a time. You need to be more careful and pick and choose when you attack and best to attack to ensure your survival." Glynda said

Guts nodded

"Thank you professor, I'll take these words to heart." Guts said as he left. The arena while his opponents groaned on the floor

Glynda looked over the weak student's to tired to get up and sighed

"Well at least one of us here is truly worthy of being a huntsman, and for all of you here. Pay attention to his speech. Your team is your lifeline. Take care of them and they will take care of you." Glynda said as the bell rang "class dismissed."

Team Rwby and JNPR stood there shocked at Guts speech.

"Wow…" Yang said

"He's right though." Pyrrha said as she stood up. Guts is powerful but he's not invincible. They got too cocky and paid the price for it." She said

"Yes says the invincible girl herself." Yang rolled her eyes teasingly.

However Pyrrha didn't take it as such and rounded on Yang "I'm not untouchable either. I went though hell to get to where I have been. But even I have much to learn." She said as she walked off.

Jaune sat there frozen thinking deeply about the message he heard from guts and the only thing resonating in his mind was four words

'I don't belong here…'

As the 8 left the Arena Ruby found Guts and made a beeline for her getting her team's attention

"Oh what do you think she's up to?" Yang asked teasingly

"Clearly not what you think, Yang." Pyrrha said thinking that it was about her asking Guts out. Of course she didn't know how much of an Nympho Ruby was either so she couldn't blame Pyrrha for not knowing.

Ruby stood before Guts

Guts looked at Ruby

"Yes?" He asked he

"I'd like to turn in my favor now." Ruby said

Guts was interested "oh ok."

Curious as to what she would ask.

"Train me." Ruby said

Guts was shocked he had planned on training her but he didn't expect her to ask first. He closed his eyes faking a deep thought to tease her.

"You know I'm going to be rough…I'll break you down." Guts said

"All the better." Ruby said clearly she was insistent.

Guts looked up to see the other 7 coming over.

"Look for me out here this weekend." Guts said as he looked up dropping the conversation.

"Did you guys at least learn anything from this class at least?" Guts asked the other 7

Yang strode forward crossing her arms "Yeah that your not a man to be trifled with." She said

Guts gave a short speech about learning your teammates' quirks and abilities to be able to flow into another's actions quickly without needing to say a word.

"This Is the level I'm talking about. Something I've seen very few people be able to accomplish, especially in so little time you 8 should be proud." Guts said

"And it's a sight to behold." A voice said from behind them

Glynda Goodwitch stood by the door

"Guts if you're not busy I'd like to talk to you." She asked

Guts nodded and looked to the group

"Think about what I have said I'd also like to say that there is a reason I didn't call team RWBY or JNPR to fight me down there. But perhaps next time I might…consider it a test." Guts said as he walked with Goodwitch as they walked past the arena and into Goodwitch's office

"Please sit." Glynda said as guts did so and got settlers Goodwitch followed

"I want to propose something to you. Something that will help you a lot." She said

"Ok…" Guts said

"I'd like you to become my assistant teacher in combat class." Glynda said

Guts went to stand up but Glynda cut him off.

"Let me finish. I already talked to Ozpin and he agrees with me. We've already discussed your special attendance to this school. And we find it to be best to see as you're quite skilled at combat to allow you to teach others." Glynda said

Guts nodded "I understand what your trying to say, however I believe my style is too different for individual's to get help from. I can help them but I cannot teach them." Guts said

Glynda smiled "what you will learn in time is that helping and teaching in combat is much the same. And I know you are a perfect fit. And while you're a student we can't pay you. Mostly as a legal battle but I feel this will help you grow." Glynda said

Guts paused "Well if Ozpin agrees I feel it will do me good. I'll accept it." He said as the two shook he headed to get Dinner and Go to bed

Unfortunately he's get sidetracked.

On the roof of the first year Dorms Jaune and Pyrrha were having a conversation.

Well it was more like hearing Jaune and Pyrrha argue.

"No, I don't! I wasn't really accepted into Beacon..." the sadness of Jaune's voice

"Wh-what do you mean?" Pyrrha questioned

"I mean I didn't go to combat school, I didn't pass any tests. I didn't earn my spot at this Academy! …I lied! I got my hands on some fake transcripts, and I lied!" He said admitting defeat

"What? But... why?" Pyrrha asked not out of anger or betrayal but out of worry

Jayne scoffed believing she didn't understand "'Cause this is always what I've wanted to be! My father, my grandfather, and his father before him were all warriors! They were all heroes! I wanted to be one, too. I was just never good enough."

Pyrrha slowly approached "Then let me help you!"

"That was stupid of you." Guts said as he revealed himself.

"Save it." Guts snapped to make sure he could get his words in. He sighed before he spoke

"You know I'm not from here…I don't mean I'm not from Vale… I'm not of this world… the world I lived in was hell we had been at war for over a century. And I was drafted in the middle of it at the age of eight as my infant body was taken from my mothers corpse. I wasn't good at fighting to begin with my caretakers use it more as a way to relax by "beating up young and helpless Guts." But even so I prevailed, I got better and I lived. So seeing you turn and spit on your ancestors legacy is a disgrace." Guts said

Jaune went to speak but Guts stepped forward. "Listen to me, no one starts out the best. Everyone starts out where you are now. Heck I did but here's the thing that's different from you and I… while I have more physical capabilities you have a lot of talent strategically and right now you just lost your best way to get better." Guts said as he turned away.

"One last thing I'll say. Each and every student I saw that I thought was not up to par I sent a note to the headmaster about them not being worthy and why. 90% of those who I told the headmaster about didn't make it to the launch pad. The other 10% I found out died in the forest… I had the same idea to tell him not to accept you but I didn't, know why?" Guts asked

Jaune was shocked and couldn't formulate words so Guts countuned

"Because of your drive and will to get better. As well as your mental prowess. Don't make me regret not informing Ozpin that you're not ready." Guts said as he walked away.

"W-why can't you help me?" Jaune asked

Guts stopped "simply put our combat styles are too different. Like I said, the best bet you have to improve besides long diligence work and a lot of pain is now angry at you. I'd suggest fixing bridges and a lot of groveling and maybe, Maybe she will agree to help. But if she's senseable she wouldn't… not until you actually learned… I wouldn't…of course love makes you do funny things" Guts said as he walked off and back to his room

"Wait love?" Jaune asked thinking he misheard Guts but he was gone

Jaune sat down on the roof and looked up to the night sky.

"I really did fuck up…" jaune said but he also thought about the story Guts told him. About the century long war.

"If he can do it so can I…" but first I need to apologize…" jaune said as he left the roof

Unknown to Jaune Guts didn't reach his room and was on the other side of the door and his admission just confirmed Guts belief in Jaune.

Guts always had a distaste for the weak. For those who cower. For those who flee. Gambino certainly didn't help. But the thing is when Guts looked at Jaune he didn't see someone weak. He saw…himself, his drive to grow overpowered by his lack of skill but not repressed.

Still he would keep an eye on Jaune and his growth.

Guts looked up and from the corner of his eye he saw a door shift but not creak. He didn't need to even think about it to know that Cardin was on the other side.

'Probably thinking about blackmail opportunities…the lout.' Guts growled mentally. Now Cardin, that is Someone Guts could figure was weak. Brash, impulsive, not willing to even say anything for his own improvement. Guts haited everything about him and it seemed he would need to keep an eye on him.

Guts felt his scroll vibrate. And looked down to see a text from the Headmaster

"please come to my office and we can discuss your "weekly" assignment." -Oz

Guts stepped off the wall and headed to the headmaster's office. ready for anything

As Guts woke up the next day he found out he was accepted as TA for Glynda

And he had his first class that day too.

Fantastic before he could train Ruby he had to train the whole team.

'Oh well, It will be fun to learn the insides of the team.' Guts thought

Immediately after the class Guts walked away far more impressed with Ruby's skills than before. Especially her ability to train others to match her skills. He almost wanted to work with all of them at the same time and forgo Ruby's individual training.

But no he couldn't. Only one could be "his protégé, he was unable to help Isidro, but Ruby won't be like him. She was driven to learn and push herself.

Of course first they had to Survive the Field trip he had planned in Forever fall.

The teams of RWBY, JNPR, CRDL and a few others. Along with Guts and Goodwitch were walking in the forest of Forever Fall while Glynda explained the assignment

"Yes, students, the forest of Forever Fall is indeed beautiful. But we are not here to sight-see. Professor Peach has asked all of you to collect samples from the trees deep inside this forest, and both myself and Guts are here to make sure none of you die while doing so…"

"Wait you make it sound as if Guts doesn't need to collect any sap?" Cardin asked

Guts looked back and said " I don't." As he lifted his full jar of sap from his cloak for All to see.

"Thank you. Guts is here to act as my official go between for each of you. If there is an issue go see him. If he feels he is not up to the task he will come see me or otherwise delegate one of you to do so." Glynda said

"So why is it that we have two babysitters one of which being a student that is possibly younger than us?" Cardin asked.

"Because I have the responsibility to do so each of you fan out to a different section of the forest I'll allow you to decide who does which task. I'll come around and appear in and out as a patrol. And see if anyone needs any help." Guts said

Glynda nodded "very well Guts at this point should all go well I might have to request Ozpin put you on payroll as a Teachers assistant for me. You could clearly do my job just as well as I could." Glynda said softly to him. Being high praise indeed from Goodwitch. As she took her leave.

Jaune lead team JNPR to a tree and set up. "Equipment?" Jaune called out a checklist.

"Check!" Pyrrha said as she raised a spigot and jars.

"Ammo?" He said

"Yes we have our weapons Jaune." Ren rolled his eyes.

Jaune sighed "look I'm just trying to do my best as a leader the way I know how. Ok just roll with it? Please?"

Ren sighed "I've gotten 2 spare magazines for stormflower each holding 30 rounds each." He said

"I've gotten 10 extra grenades in my pocket." Nora said

"I've got 180 general order rifle ammo for myself." Pyrrha said

"Ok thanks for dealing with that now… where the camping equipment?" Jaune asked

"We went asked to bring any as this is only an hour trip." Ren said

"Yes but you never know when accidents will happen and we will be forced to make camp here. This is going to bug me now… well we will pray that we don't need it but next time at least bring something. Even an extra blanket and spell the different between freezing in the rain and waking up tomorrow." Jaune said

"Well said Jaune." Guts said as he jumped down from a tree behind him before eyeing Ren and the rest of the team. "Take this as a lesson. Anything can happen and it's best to be prepared than regret it afterwards." He said as he smiled and praised Jaune for the use of a checklist.

Ren nodded humbly as Jaune told the team his plan.

"Alright Know Each of us is to bring back a jar ourselves. But I don't like that we are undefended to that end. Pyrrha. Nora watch our flanks to check for any incoming Grimm, Ren and I will fill the containers." Jaune said

Pyrrha wanted to argue but even she had to admit it was a good plan. And Ren wasn't arguing probably because Nora would eat all the syrup if she was to get the sap.

So like that that was the plan they went with. Once again Guts had to commend them for thinking about safety instead of getting the job done quick.

Guts looked over to Team RWBY and saw they had taken the latter option although not without protection either. While one person was filling a jar the other three members were covering them. Before they switched off.

The only one that displeased him was Team CRDL who seemed content to sit back and watch.

Guts was about to head over and confront them when he heard Jaune sneeze.

"Achoo! Fuck! Sorry Ren I think I just found out I'm allergic to this sap. I'm going to take a walk to clear my nose then I'll be back Pyrrha your in charge until im back 5 minutes." Jaune said before he walked off

Guts was once again impressed. With Jaune he clearly took his speech he gave him to heart and while he couldn't speak of his combat abilities because he hasn't seen them it was something that was good.

However he did notice that Jaune was heading for the position of team CRDL who seemed to be holding a box that was shaking angrily.

He also noticed there were 6 jars of sap filled so two extra.

Guts kept a distance but close enough that he could interfere if things got bad.

Jaune was able to clear his nose soon enough and sighed "Ah finally able to breath again." He said he saw a shadow looming over him as Jaune turned to see Cardin

"C-Cardin?" Jaune asked

"Hey jauney boy. How's it going buddy?" Cardin asked

"W-what do you want Cardin?" Jaune asked shuddering at first but finding his voice at the end.

"Woah temperamental im just coming to say hi is that a problem?" Cardin asked

"For you saying hi usually means either taking my work, a punch, kick, or even more permanent bodily harm." Jaune said

Cardin stumbled back acting as if he had been hit. "Jauney? Y-your not trying to infer that I'm a bully, were you?" Cardin asked growing more hostile as he approached.

Jaune however didn't back down. "What do your actions say?" He asked

Cardin laughed "oh wow! Wow oh wow! What's new with you jauney boy. A confidence boost we'll still well be able to knock you down to size." Cardin said

Jaune didn't even have time to draw his sword as the other three members of the team pinned Jaune down. Cardin drew up his mace and went to smack him.

Guts was about to step out to intervene but surprisingly he caught Jaunes eyes. An eye that was full of steel with one clear message 'don't.'

Guts nodded and stepped away thinking to himself

'Very well Jaune show me what you can do.'

Jaune couldn't do very much. But to his credit he was pinned to the ground in a position that even Pyrrha would find herself hard to get out of.

Still Jaune fought and did so extremely well. Eventually even breaking the hold and sending Cardin back.

Jaune fell down on the ground next to the jars. And looked up to see Cardin charging.

Jaune in his haste grabbed two jars and threw both of them at cardin. One landed on Cardin's armor. The other hit him square in the face.

The glass did no damage to his face due to cardins raised Aura but the sap stuck to his hair skin and armor like glue.

He drew his hand through this hair and felt it tough and mangy he couldn't pull his hand away without pulling his own hair with it.

"Now you've done it!" Cardin growled as he stalked closer to Jaune.

Jaune however was able to get up and went for his shield only to have him knocked away by Cardin.

"You just don't give up do you Jaune? Your fucking worthless rag who can't fight! Can't think! And can comprehend his own fucking failure your a useless huntsman and even worse as a team leader! Quit dragging them down with you and let those who deserve to be huntsman take there place above you!" Cardin said as he hammered fist and fist into Jaune.

And just as Guts was about to intervene. An Ursa did it for him as it tackled Cardin off of Jaune.

Cardin looked up dazed as the Ursa sniffed his armor and head Cardin went to raise his Mace but the Ursa knocked it away. Just as when The Ursa raised itself to fall onto Cardin and kill him Jaune jumped over and hit it with his sword.

The Ursa turned away from Cardin and looked at Jaune who stood ready to fight. He banged his sword on the shield to make as much noise as possible to keep the Ursa solely on him to allow Cardin the time to escape 'come on take the bait'

However what Jaune didn't expect was another Ursa to come out and send Jaune flying and landing next to Cardin.

However Jaune refused to let Cardin be killed as he jumped up and protected him again from an Ursa strike.

Guts looked at Jaune's eyes and saw the plead for help. It was here that Guts lept out and attacked and killed the other Ursa.

Guts was in fact going to leap to the other Ursa only to see Jaune had killed it; he also noticed the other students in the other tree line with Pyrrha lowering her hand.

Guts walked past as Jaune helped Cardin up "holy crap Jaune." He said

"Insult me all you want. Insult my family all you want. But don't Insult my team. Ever again." Jaune said as he walked off.

Cardin watched him walk off as Guts stood behind him.

"You know any lesser man wouldn't have thought for a second to leave you behind while they saved there skin. People like you… Jaune proved today that he has more than enough to become a huntsman, but you still have to show it…" Guts said as he walked off.

After the hour the teams made there way back to Beacon. While Glynda dismissed the class she sent Guts directly up to Ozpin to report what happened.

Guts did exactly that. Even commenting on how Jaune had impressed him on his first day here.

Ozpin nodded "so you saw that to?" He asked

Guts nodded before he asked after some time.

"Sir you told me after the ceremony that the numbers you dismissed from Beacon were 90% of the candidates I told you were not good enough." Guts said

"And that the other 10% were people I thought were good enough and died in the forest. Yes I did and it was factual I can give you each name of the candidate that died. I now regret not listening to your advice." Ozpin said

"I'm not asking that but what I am asking is… if I had come to you with the Name Jaune Arc would you have sent him away if I had asked you too?" Guts asked

Soon it was the weekend and the first time it came to training Ruby.

"We don't actually think she's going to train do you?" Yang asked thrown for a loop

When Guts called an end to training for the day she knew something was wrong. After all It was only midday.

Ruby hadn't had a full 24 hour training session in so long certainly before her last year at signal it was so long she longed for it.

They were ment to be arduous, agony inducing and supposedly pure hell.

"Next week is the new month. At that time we will be playing host to Signal staff and unofficially. They will be holding the final exam test for any Beacon students wanting to participate." Guts said

"I know for a fact you could complete it easily. I can do it, so, it's just 89 fighter's, different battle styles but still." Guts said

Ruby nodded "I haven't officially completed it so I feel I should,"

Guts smiled "I won't tell you what to or what not to do. But I'll just give you this. Most students that go from combat school to beacon opt out of the Combat test for more pen and paper." Guts said

Ruby nodded "you want my teammates to compete too don't you?" Ruby asked

"Oh no quite the contrary. I can tell they are just skirting by with their abilities but I want them to be like me. To push their limits." Ruby explained

"The fact they can go in and out of other combat styles, not their own fluidity, is a testament to itself. But I agree they can do better." Guts said

Guts however was in his own head hoping he could do what he needed to make sure that team RWBY could grow.

'Ruby is right. I misjudged them all of them have talent hidden under them the same power as Ruby. They just happen to be more rough… but I think they can do it. If Ruby can give them that little push.' Guts though.

Unknown to everyone Pyrrha was secretly watching the training.

In her mind she stewed a plot to oust Ruby from Guts grasp and to replace her with herself

Pyrrha the invincible girl. With Guts the Blackswordsmen

While it's unconfirmed Pyrrha had no doubt it was him.

Legends said he died off long ago.

There had been rumors of him popping in and out but those were unconfirmed.

Also others claiming to be him but usually they could be ousted as wearing Black for being edgy

No Guts wore his black for a reason. He unlike the others wore it because it fit him. It molded him

To others it was just a color.

To Guts it was his life.

Of course this was just theories until she could talk to him.

Unfortunately for some reason He avoided her like the plague.

Did she do something wrong?

Pyrrha didn't know but it only made her more desperate for a talk.

With the week going by Ozpin gave the alert of the Signal test coming to Beacon.

Ruby was hyped and knowing the fear that her teammates had about the test Ruby laid down the law.

Ruby after doing that Shocked everyone and asked for another training session with Guts tomorrow.

Guts agreed immediately.

The rest of the team knew they couldn't do a thing. They weren't invited.

The actual training was set the day before Ruby's legendary fight her attempt at beating the Signal final test.

But to insure that Ruby did her very best she would be going in handicapped.

Guts looked wearily at Ruby who held her weapon at the ready.

"Are you sure you want to do this? A full 24 hour training session before a major fight is rough." Guts warned

"I'm itching for blood. If I don't get something like this soon I'm afraid I'll hurt someone besides a 30 minute power nap and I'm fully back in it. I want to feel the burn please." Ruby said near begging Guts

Guts sighed hearing the desperation in her voice "ok ok I get it it's been a while for me too so I'm game to, I'd actually wanted us to do this before but we got interrupted." Guts said

"Yeah I brought snacks too if I need to. Simply put, just fight. Please, I'm begging you." Ruby said

Guts was apprehensive instead of going all out he'd go 75% of the way. It was enough to the fact he was wanting to win. But at the same time he wouldn't risk going into a blind rage and end up killing her.

And indeed they did fight for a full 24 hours before Ruby's match. Guts saw the glints of stress on her face but none of it was enough to fully pull her out of her itch.

Guts had nearly fell into a rage but just pulled himself back in time right as the timer for Ruby's match was set to begin.

They literally walked from the training grounds into the combat arena where the test was.

Guts took the stands while Glynda went over the rules.

Then she called Ruby up.

And the Legendary moment seeing the true speed of Ruby rose was a sight to beholden. It was a blink and you miss it.

And many did.

Guts watched Ruby's fight and while his thoughts in the moment showed positive the overall match was to him…disappointing.

Ruby was holding back the entire time.

The only time she went all out, Was against the first teacher.

Which lasted a millisecond.

From then on Ruby slowed down. Hitting lighter strikes. Using less speed. And overall exerting less effort.

Guts knew she was trying but trying at a lower bar which was disappointing.

Within five minutes she passed the first year teachers who many of the upper level Beacon students couldn't.

It took just about an hour for her to reach the headmaster

Which she crushed.

While holding back.

Guts sighed 'I tried to give her an endurance challenge and she breezed past that…at this point I'll have to challenge her myself.' Guts thought

'But could I?' He asked

In the few months that he knew Ruby she worked her way into his heart and stuck there.

Could he risk killing her? Trying to push her. Because that was a risk if he went all out.

Guts closed his eyes considering his choices, what was more important, someone he cared for alive. Or them being able to defend themselves in a dangerous world.

In his mind the sign of the brand is burned into his mind his eyes shot open expression determined as and vows to protect her. Even if he needs to risk killing her or he dies. Saying to himself as he stands up from the stands of the Auditorium "I won't let it happen to another."

Next to Guts while he was thinking

Pyrrah was loathing.

Ruby had stolen her spot as Guts' apprentice, a spot dedicated to her.

However Guts was uninterested in Pyrrha's plight As Guts left the arena. He found Ruby sitting on a stone by herself thinking.

"So…why did you hold back?" Guts asked

Ruby sighed

"I don't know…I wanted a challenge I guess." Ruby said

Guts nodded

"You have had a lot of attention as of late. Are you ok with that?" Guts asked

"I'm tired of holding myself back but I'm not going to crush weaker opponents beneath me either. Yeah I could have just outspeed everyone in the fight but to me that's no fun." Ruby said

Guts sighed "alright I guess I have no choice you want to grow and I want to see if you can handle yourself. So you know what you win." Guts said

"Huh?" Ruby asked looking in

"You have 3 months Train the best you can and at the end of those 3 months I'll fight you. No holds barred." Guts said

Ruby face shifted to confusion to shock to excited. "really?!"

Guts smiled "yeah…you earned it." He nodded

Ruby nodded and vanished clearly to train.

The next day Ruby came in excited for what's next for combat class.

Most fights for the signal test were reserved for fridays unless special. Ruby's was special so she had Monday

That day would change a lot of things at Beacon

"Alright we will see who would like a match?" Glynda asked

Surprising everyone Pyrrha stood up

"Ms Nikos?" Glynda asked

Glynda nodded "very well get your gear ready while we decide your opponent

"Actually. I'd like to fight Guts madam."

Guts, who at this point was half asleep with his arms crossed, snapped his eyes open.

Something fishy was going on, he could smell it.

Still he agreed

The two stood on the other sides of the arena.

"So before we start I wanted to raise the stakes." Pyrrha said

Guts narrowed his eyes but said nothing

"If I win by some narrow margin you'll take me as your apprentice. And not train Ruby again.

"What?!" A shocked yelled was heard from the stands as Ruby looked petrified

Inside she was seething.

Back when they first spoke and both met Guts Ruby had told Pyrrha she liked him. And she said she would never sabotage her effort's with Guts

But now Pyrrha was stepping on Ruby's foot.

Ruby wasn't the only one appalled by the bet

"Pyrrha!" Jaune yelled

Yang glared at Jaune miffed at Pyrrha for this betrayal

"Something tells me that this bet was not planned." She said

Jaune shook his head "if I knew about any of this I'd never greenlight this." He said

Guts sighed knowing exactly what Pyrrha was trying to do he answered "no deal."

Pyrrha was miffed "fine you can still train Ruby but still." Pyrrha said

"Still no. I'll fight you that's it." Guts said

"Even if I lose?" Pyrrha asked

"If you lose you should use this as a experience and get better." Guts answered

"And if I win?" Pyrrha asked

"You won't." Guts aid simply

"Why not?" Pyrrha argued

"You lack…" Guts said cutting off the rest

Appalled Pyrrha pushed Guts to finish the sentence

"Lack what?!" She demanded

Guts leveled his face towards her and said one word which rocked Pyrrha to the core.

"Conviction."

In the stands Ruby was livid at both Jaune and Pyrrha, Pyrrha more so because she was getting in the way of her training and Jaune because of his erratic Girlfriend

Jaune and Pyrrha had been dating since the forever fall forest incident.

Jaune said he had no idea but he just sat there as Guts and Pyrrha talked

Ruby now didn't know who to believe. She just looked to Guts in a huff.?

"Kick her ass." Ruby huffed as she sat down, arms crossed.

"Jeez, harsh battle sis?" Yang said

"It's not going to be a battle but a slaughter." Ruby said bias because she knew Pyrrha was unworthy of the attention she was seeking from Guts.

Another was the fact Pyrrha tried to Barr Ruby from seeing Guts.

Next to Ruby while She pouted she sat obvious to Weiss who looked at Ruby.

Ruby sighed and calmed down but still knowing that this wasn't going to even be interesting.

"This isn't going to be worth it to watch text me when it's over." Ruby said

"Ms Rose." Guts said looking at Ruby

"Stay please at least so you can learn the difference between the two of you." He said

The entire hall was silent

Here Guts was addressing Ruby personally

Almost as if confirming from yesterday that. 'Yes I Took her on as his apprentice, deal with it.'

Ruby sighed and sat back down reluctantly.

Guts turned back to Pyrrha and the battle began

It was quick, one sided, and a horrible.

Guts didn't even use his aura.

From that day forward Pyrrha was barred from fighting Guts.

The rest of the month with the signal Exams we're nothing but disappointments until the final match with Guts test

Boy what a disaster that was.

The day that signal teachers left was a sad day.

Mostly because they wanted an extra shot but didn't get the chance.

Ruby and her team Grew more together that day and now held a strong conviction to train together when they needed.

They probably wouldn't ever be as good as Ruby but they were good in their own right.

The day that the signal teachers left Guts made an announcement to those in combat class.

"If I can have your attention please. Guts would like to have a few words." Glynda said

Guts stepped forward

"As you probably already know. I've officially taken Ms Rose as an apprentice under my wing. Something that has caused quiet a stir." Guts said

Several teams muttered one voice quite absent was Pyrrha who just sulked.

"Now some here will consider me bias in my statement but I'll say it's well earned, she Earned the right to be my apprentice.

And while I will not trade her for another. I will be taking on a class.

As people will notice next to your ID badges on your scrolls is your name and a Badge.

That badge indicates you took the Signal Final test and got a passing grade.

Anyone who comes to see me within the next week and shows me the Badge. Will have a right to join me in these Advance Combat lessons."

These will not be fun. I will not favor you. These will make what you felt in the test feel like a cakewalk. But if you take these lessons. I can guarantee not only will you strive as Future huntsman. But thrive." Guts said as he walked away.

"When will the lessons be?" Someone asked as the others were checking there scrolls

"These lessons will be each Saturday from SunUp to Sundown in the courtyard Rain, sleet or snow. Be there then or don't come at all." Guts said as he walked out the door.

From that point people were only talking about if someone had a badge and what color they were

There were 4 colors, Bronze. Silver. Gold. And Platinum

For indeed to pass you had to make it past the first year teachers before giving in. That got you bronze.

Silver is if you beat second year's before giving in.

Gold means you made it to third.

Platinum means you made it to Upper staff.

And then there was a secret color a color that only 4 people had

Purple.

Purple showed that you beat the Headmaster and technically were the only ones allowed to get into beacon. These were like the Seal coins or the officer stripes

It was earned not given.

You couldn't get it if the Headmaster bowed out at the last minute for the win.

No you had to beat him.

The only 4 people who Earned that right for purple.

Was Team RWBY.

The next weekend Guts Enters the Courtyard ready to train

What he didn't expect was Team RWBY to be there.

3 we're waiting, one was training.

Weiss, Yang, and Blake stood with there Arms crossed

Ruby was behind them doing drills

At the speed of Mach 5.

"You know class doesn't start till next week right?" Guts asked

Yang nodded "we know." She said as a loud explosion was heard behind him.

"Was that?" Guts asked

"Ruby sound barrier finally echoing…" Yang said

Guts nodded "very well. If you want to join then Start running Drills like Ruby is doing for warm up. After the Sun peaks up we have a fighting break then we switch styles until all 4 have gone through each other's styles.

Then we have sparing. You pair up and it's just like in class. However unlike in class I don't care if you have aura. If you have aura, then you can still fight. Your goal is to break your opponent and defeat them soundly.

Ruby for this you will not be using your semblance understood?" Guts said

"Got it!" Ruby said not taking her mind of the drills.

Once your opponent is done, if you win you fight another opponent.

If you lose! you do 50 push-up and sit down watching the others fight thinking about where your limit was and how you will go about breaking it next time.

You will sit there! until the next person loses their match and you will swap off.

If for some reason one of you goes the entire day and doesn't sit down. I will give them a reward of some kind, some form of luxury item, at their request. This is your incentive to do your best in this." Guts said

Your punishment for losing once is you pay 10 lien into a pot for the winner's reward. Which is cumulative. Do you all understand?" Guts asked

Everyone nodded and while Guts though he was pushing the team too hard he was shocked to see instead of fear in there eyes

They saw Excitement. Eager. Determination.

This was a Team who wanted to Grow

A team who would Soar if given the chance. And maybe just maybe with a little bit of Help. Could change the World.

Ruby looked anxious and excited.

Guts nodded "get going." He said

Suddenly the courtyard was filled with sounds of grunts and groans.

2 hours later the first test really began ( battle break)

Officially they were not allowed to stop moving while they ate. After all, Grimm wouldn't let you have a combat break the haunted spirit's never did for Guts.

Yang tried to unwrap a powerbar and it dropped

As she tried to bend down and pick it up Guts tried to Kick her to show she was vulnerable

It worked as she landed on her ass she looked stunned at first then realized the lesson and growled as she got back up and ingnored the power bar for another 30 minutes.

After the 30 she tried again Guts again tried to kick her

This time Yang was prepared and jumped left meaning if Guts was a Grimm he would've soared past her

Guts nodded allowing Yang to pick up the powerbar without interference

As Yang went to take a bite

It was shot out of her hand

By Ruby.

"Keep moving. Or I hit you next. She said as she went back to drills.

Yang looked shocked and over to Guts who shrugged

"That's actually the safer bet." He said as he tapped the handle of Dragonslayer.

Yang got the message and kept doing drills while trying to eat the powerbar

It would be the last time she brought that to Training.

The others were more prepared.

Blake was so well prepared she had a Mollie Drawstring pouch that would not spill and had Trailmix In it as she used her stealth, and skills as an assassin to munch on them a few bites at a time.

Guts was impressed with Blake's solution however one thing caught his eye it was subtle. But for someone who was a nitpicker for details it stuck out like a sore thumb.

Had Guts been not aware of it from the history lesson of Ozpin he'd skip right past it for just a cool symbol

But it was a wolf face in front of 3 claw marks

Otherwise The symbol of the White fang.

Guts vowed to keep an eye on Blake's interactions with Weiss for now on.

However from what he saw they seemed amicable.

Speaking of Weiss she was one of the smarter ones who used her semblance to hold an apple above her and drop it to her when she needed a bite while she drilled.

By far the best one he found was of course Ruby.

Ruby was using something like Blake but instead of having a special pouch she had her's covered by Gravity dust so she could open it at will.

Guts pushed them to the limits let instead of them faltering they stood as one.

After that the break was over and they went onto sparing.

The two teams starting out were Ruby vs Weiss and Yang vs Blake.

The fights started out interesting as immediately both teams shifted into using the othrrs fighting style

Weiss using long sweeeping strokes as Ruby with crescent rose pointed out into a war scythe used sharp elegant thrusts.

Unfortunately for Weiss Ruby also had better reach than her

So she had to fall back into her old special trick

Her glyphs

Using them as a shield she was able to gain Distance on Ruby. Making Ruby falter

But only for a moment

As a gunshot shattered the Glyph. The bullet flying past Weiss scrapping across her cheek making her bleed

Weiss just narrowed her eyes and pushed forward

Ruby finally faltered as Weiss went on the offensive

The battle with Yang and Blake was different

Both were close combat operatives but in different styles

With Yang she was bombastic and loud

And Blake snuck up on foes

So seeing Yang stick to shadowed and Blake firing blindly into the Distance was a little strange

Especially seeing how effective both were.

Truely they had taken the others style and made it there own to fit there semblance

Yang seemed to be able to hide her fire my personality

While blake used her semblance as distractions and attacks.

Guts watched the battle and while he wasn't ashamed with how they fought he wasn't surprised by the results.

Obviously Ruby won against Weiss who had to switch back to her old style which Ruby was still better

Yang vs Blake it was a harder match as they constantly switched as there styles countered each other perfectly.

Unfortunately That ment that the only way this would go was Baised on power

Something Yang had in spades

In one punch the match was decided

And they swapped partners

Now it was Blake vs Weiss and Ruby vs Yang.

The sparing lasted for most of the rest of the day.

Guts was confident they were now probably some of the best huntress in the school. Or at least of there class say for the teachers.

But they could grow on there own on there own time

Guts now just insured that they could learn different styles of training to help them self improve.

However for Ruby…she was different, obviously

He could tell she was a battleluster. She craved the feel of the battle high

I mean he was the same.

The way she trained. The way she forced herself to keep moving.

The way she powered through even the toughest obstacles

Guts shook his head and he had to focus. With terrible Grimm stronger than anything anyone else has faced there needed to be someone that they feared.

And to be honest Guys didn't know how long he'd last like this…

He'd been fighting for his entire life not counting before he came back.

Frankly he was considering ending it here

Hanging up his sword…for the last time.

'With Ruby Fully trained I can feel comfortable with letting her take care of the work. Probably in a year or two I'll introduced her to Apostle's and she can shadow me on a fight or two.' Guts thought out his game plan for Ruby.

One that would finish where he left off.

'With her determination she could probably find a way back to midland and kick Griffith's ass too.' Guts thought

Oh hell he was getting introspective.

Guts looked up and found himself alone in the courtyard

He sighed as he picked up his gear and headed inside for some supper.

After the sun fell Two teens were on top of the dorms Sparing far into the night

And Pyrrha.

Pyrrha was livid at the fact that Guts refused to train her

And unfortunately she took that anger out on Jaune.

Under the guise of 'tougher training to get you ready faster.'

In reality what it was was an Ass beating.

She would apologize to Jaune later…in about a week after she got the last of her anger out she supposed.

Last night was only her first time with this training method.

Today she's plan on going harder. Push him harder. Mostly get the blunt of her anger

Pyrrha grit her teeth in anger yet Jaune stood resolute behind his shield sword held out.

He block rebuff her and counter but Pyrrha blocked it in such a way that she couldn't move his blade to hit him or anything

Once was an oddity. She could play it off especially when Jaune made it seem like it was accidental

Twice was luck.

Jaune for his part stoped trying to fake it and stood resolute.

Jaune nodded "ok but no semblance." He said

Pyrrha giggled "right." She teased

Jaune rolled his eyes "alright fine you got me there but still give me some credit." Jaune said

Pyrrha nodded "alright I agree I won't use my semblance to move your stuff." She said

Jaune nodded accepting her word

'If i move to a heavy swing im wide open…so I guess.' Juane though as he started to advance

Pyrrha narrowed her eyes 'damn. I'd hope he just lunge but he's trying to close the distance and im unable to stop him until he's fully ready.' She thought

Just as Jaune was outside of his reach zone but inside of Pyrrha's Jaune dropped his guard

Unfortunately that was what Jaune wanted as he threw himself to the left under her blow

'What?!' Pyrrha gasped

Jaune stood up and spun around going for a backstab in Pyrrha's exposed back at a lethal strike.

'At that speed he will puncture my skin.' Pyrrha though

Pyrrha was forced to use her semblance and bring her shield around her to block the attack.

The two just froze trying to process what had just happened

Jaune gasped and dropped the sword

"I'm sorry Pyrrha did I hurt you?" Jaune asked

Pyrrha was shocked trying to process this more as Jaune walked forward trying to see if she was ok.

"Pyrrha! Pyrrha?!" Jaune asked

Jaune staggered back slumped against the wall

His cheek red from a hand print.

"What was your motive?" Pyrrha hissed

Jaune looked up "Pyrrha what?" He asked

No one saw me for me. It's why I desperately tried to get into Beacon and not Haven! I'd be put on a pedestal. My own sister who tries to follow my footsteps has tried to as well." Pyrrha said

"And it drove us apart." Pyrrha growled clenching her fists

"And the first day I get to Beacon and see you, someone who didn't recognize me as famous except for the damn cereal brand. I thought I had a chance. I thought I had something akin to a normal life.

You said you faked your transcript's but I have a feeling it's the exact opposite. You faked the transcripts to downplay your own abilities!?" Pyrrha yelled

"Pyrrha!" Jaune said trying to stand up

Pyrrha just pushed him back down

"Don't you dare! No Jaune I've had enough! I can't do anything! I can't grow! And I'm tired of it!" Pyrrha said turning around to look at the moon tears dropping down her face

"What's next. You wanted to be my boyfriend just so you could fuck me for a goddamn tabloid saying you got me pregnant." Pyrrha hissed as she stepped up onto the Ledge.

"No!" Jaune said

Pyrrha looked over her shoulder back at Jaune around "nothing you can say can convince me you're not lying."

"I don't need to say anything." Jaune said

Pyrrha growled before her eyes widening

"How do you know of that technique?!" She asked

"Even more lies?! Damn it Jaune I just want a straight answer! that technique is deeply secretive to those of Mistral how do you know of that technique?" Pyrrha asked

Jaune shrugged not knowing "I think I had a few family members once come from Mistral but I got no record's." Jaune said

Pyrrha grit her teeth

Jaune froze, did he want to risk it…no he had no need to fear he was innocent…

The technique was called Aura sharing. It was basically a lie detector for people with Aura.

It except it was more.

He had no idea why after all the technique was specifically designed to only have one seerer

"I'm sorry." She said

This just made Pyrrha cry more and drop her head int his lap

And Jaune knowing she deserved it all.

It was a clash of wills of the two people who love each other trying to find there way.

The two looked into each other's eyes.

And instantly knew the best way to solve there issues

Both teens leaned forward connecting lips at the same time as Pyrrha flung her arms around Jaune he kicked his legs out making Pyrrha shift her frame to be sitting on him.

Pyrrha pulled away for air

Jaune just looked lovely at his girlfriend.

Pyrrha smiled back and did a hair flip something which she knew drove a reaction from Jaune

And a reaction indeed occurred as Pyrrha felt the jeans she was sitting on dig into her skirt.

Pyrrha giggled "someone is excited." She said as she pushed herself forward to grind on Jaune's crotch.

"Someone wants it." Jaune said

"Oh hell yes!" Pyrrha moaned

Jaune reached forward and grabbed her face.

"Do you want to take this to our room or?" Jaune asked

"Ren and Nora are probably there." Pyrrha said

"Let them hear for now I just want to be with you." Jaune said
