Rwby: of Guts and Blood: Chapter 3: Hate and Darkness.

Chapter start

While Team JNPR were having fun in the sheets, Team RWBY was also having the same fun.

Or they were trying to.

It was then another 4th year team dropped out. Because he pushed them to hard.

Still Guts showed no sympathy

By week 5 he had started to have the teams fight each other.

No one wanted to be slated against RWBY.

They were starting to understand that the fucking pedestal Guts put them on wasnt for show.

It was a warning

Then the next class CFVY ended up facing JNPR

And they got stomped.

From that moment CFVY resigned from Guts class saying it was not worth it when you couldn't do anything but get your ass kicked.

That only left RWBY and JNPR.

The two powerhouses of Beacon.

Finally Guts had the class he wanted to teach.

For about a month or so.

Then Ozpin had to rain in his parade and shut the class down saying there were two few students.

Still even with the Class shutting down and they all had to back to the normal Combat class They would still meet up on the weekends to Train under Guts.

Of course the jealousy of the students knew no bounds as a Rumor began to spread that Guts was stalking Ruby.

With was completely idiotic.

However it was so prevalent that even the headmaster had to get involved. As he called both of them in.

"You wanted to see us Headmaster?" Guts asked

"Please sit." Ozpin said

Guts pulled a chair out for Ruby and for a second he thought he saw a faint blush on her face but she turned away before he could confirm it.

"Do either of you know why you are here?" Ozpin asked

"No." Guts said

"I have a faint one." Ruby said

Guts turned to Ruby shocked

Ozpin turned to Miss Rose "in that case please explain." He said

Ozpin nodded and turned to Guts

"So you can contest your not stalking Ms rose?" Ozpin asked

"As someone who takes out Supergrimm one first year doesn't seem much to handle Sisterly protective instincts or not." Ozpin said

"So how's your training coming along for the upcoming battle?" Guts asks

Guts took a deep breath. He hated to admit it, but that offer was tempting.

Guts sighed and yielded

"Fine I accept." Guts said

Ruby cheered in excitement at the fact of a date with Guts.

Unfortunately they stopped before Team RWBY's dorm

Guts reacted instantly and jumped forward to catch her which he did. As Yang stomped straight at Guts and went to throw a haymaker at him.

"Normally he would just dodge, lift Dragonslayer and crush Yang. However Yang is Ruby's sister so that is understandable. However the fact that her rage nearly happened to injure her sister that was unacceptable. So instead against the odds instead of letting her vent and hit him. He gave into his anger and caught the fist dead.

Yang was shocked as she processed what just happened. Weiss and Blake were also in awe.

Guts however was pissed. He raised to his full height. Which was eye level to Yang honestly but with him radiating the anger he was he felt like a giant to her so much so Yang gulped in fear.

However much he wanted to, he didn't raise his voice he spoke softly and calmly and that made it all the more terrifying.

In the coming weeks the students were getting a buzz that something was up.

The actual logistics of the fight was something that was hell to figure out.

So it was decided that the school would be in the entrance hall watching the fight on the monitor's.

To say everyone was hyped was an understatement

Everyone felt that Guts achievement's were getting legendary. This was the one guy who was actually untouchable. And the next person behind him happened to his apprentice.

And now they were going to Duke it out.

No one could keep quiet when the day of the event came. As Glynda called everyone to be prepared for the event. Ozpin gave a small speech

"In my time as headmaster here I've seen many faces walk these halls. Some would peak here, while others would go off to become legends. Today we stand on the edge of what is possible and what is true. For one of the Best. Has decided to take one of our under his wing and train her.

Now it's time to see the exact limit of what that training is. Pay attention because you will see the acts of myth play out before you.

And know that if you strive hard enough even you can stand amongst the peers you're going to be watching." Ozpin said as he walked off. As everyone focused on the screens.

On the screens. The camera was facing one of the entry way but the tunnel was dark and it was unknown who was there.

Suddenly there was movement as climatic music built as Guts strode out as a somber guitar riff echoed the halls.

On the other side Ruby Rose stepped out walking to the middle of the arena as Guts in his armor looking like the Blackswordsmen stood still Dragonslayer laid across his back.

Ruby and Guts at the Same time slowly drew their weapons. And stood before one another ready to fight.

The class Gasped as they Saw Guts activate his aura first.

The guy who barely used it to the point there was a rumor that he didn't even have one. And who has taught his students that using it is a form of cowardice unless you're facing an overwhelming opponent. Used his first against his own student.

Team WBY and JNPR looked at each other knowing what this meant.

Guts stared at Ruby as she stared back.

"Good luck." Guts said with a sad smile.

Ruby narrowed her eyes as she lowered herself ready to face Guts's

Guts took a sigh as he opened his eyes

He found himself not at Beacon

But in a midland field… in paradise

Surrounded by him was…everyone.

Jadau, Casca, Corkus, Pippin, Gaston…

And Griffith.

For the first time of seeing him Guts wasn't angry at Griffith this wasn't the Griffith that betrayed him… this was his friend.

Then suddenly they started to fade and the world around them started to turn from an ideal paradise to a stormy field.

Guts tried to approach Casca but she was just getting farther and farther away.

He kept trying though. He needed to get to her.

Then it was gone and he realized something. It was a dream…it wasn't real.

Suddenly Guts longed for the Freedom of death. Hopefully he'd then see Casca again.

Guts held Dragonslayer, since when did it begin to feel so heavy.

Guts felt anger rise up in him as he made the first strike as he heard Ruby's boot hit the Floor across from him.

Guts grabbed a hand full of knives and threw them at Ruby

And like that the battle was on.

Ruby simple flipped Crescent Rose around to block them and knock them off track.

As she leveled her Scythe towards her opponent and went to blast him

However Guts was already in the Air falling down on her.

Ruby flickered backwards using her semblance to get away from guts as he Slammed into the Stage breaking it in half as he landed.

He didn't even swing his sword.

Now the audience including the teachers knew why Guts and Ruby Didn't feel safe with them in the Arena.

Heck it's almost as if the actual School wasn't safe enough to hold this battle.

As Guts stood up to his full height Ruby used this chance to strike and get a hit in.

As she rushed forward. She took a simple vertical swing at Guts

Guts Dragged the Dragonslayer up parrying Ruby and sending her flying.

Before Guts launched after her using his own Aura enforced Legs to chase after her.

Ruby looked to see Guts charging at her and sighed

'Alright then let's play.' Ruby thought as Guts got closer

Guts swung once at Ruby

And her head went rolling down by his feet

Guts looked down at the decapitated head stunned at the fact he just killed Ruby.

Only for him to feel a jolt of pain as he looked to see part of Crescent rose in his chest. He looked down to see the head Fall away into Rose petals.

Ruby had used his own damn consciousness to trick him.

Guts looked around and tried to spot Ruby but couldn't find her.

Guts was starting to lose control. He wasn't facing a student of his anymore but an Apostle.

Suddenly he was hit from all over all at once like he was being hit by one of Mozgus 1000 God punches

Guts grit his teeth. As he fought through the pain and took a mighty swing

And the onslaught stopped

Guts looked up to see the Aura meter hanging above his head.

And it read as such

Guts 99%

Ruby 100%

Ruby with just a slim margin had drawn first blood.

In the Audience the ones watching had noticed the same thing. The one girl who everyone to one point or another had mocked and or had reasoned she didn't have what it took to be here had drawn first blood on the litteral Goliath who hung over everyone else as the peek pinnacle huntsman meterial.

He was basically the Gold Standard for Huntsman to look up to.

Not Pyrrha Nikos.

Not Ozpin.

Guts.

And the one girl everyone underestimated for being too young. Or ditzy had drawn first blood on the best of the best.

And like an Angel descending from heaven the students of Beacon and even some teachers were seeing Ruby in a new light.

Above the battlefield Ruby stood in the rafters her cape flowing majestically as she stuck an ominous pose over Guts.

Guts and Ruby grinned at each other siliently congratulating the other for the first blood drawn. Then the lines shifted now it was back into the battle.

Guts smirked as he activated this Dust ring

Suddenly the knives he flew at Ruby before soared back home intercepting Ruby as she fell on Guts

The blades Cut through her like tissue paper leaving massive holes in her body which exploded into rose petals petals flew all over The arena and rained on the floor.

Still no sign of Ruby

Guts stayed still turning to face where the largest pile of Petals were landing

And soon his thoughts were proven correct as Ruby's body's reshifted and became fully corporal again

Not allowing Ruby the full time to get formed he rushed forward and slashed her with Dragonslayer

There was a loud boom as she went flying and crashed into the back wall of the arena Cracking it making a few rocks fall from the ceiling.

However Ruby looked up more angry than in pain

Although her aura didn't read that

Ruby was now down to 75%

In one hit Guts took down a quarter of her aura.

And Ruby could tell he didn't take a full swing that time.

Ruby grit her teeth as she Cocked her Sniper and leveled it at Guts

Guts palmed a tiny Bomb in his hand one of the Old demon bombs remade using Dust.

Perfect for stunning Huntsman in emergency situations.

And a great tool for this fight.

Especially seeing as Ruby had no idea about them.

Ruby fired a shot as Guts tossed the bomb

Both the shot and Bomb connected and exploded! Filling the arena in a deep fog.

Guts growled when it was getting more and more harder to move. Harder to breathe. Harder to think. harder to feel.

The haste of battle filled him.

It longed for him to lash out.

Guts knowing that he had to take Ruby seriously, made the worst mistake of his life.

He let go.

Guts let out an imhumane Roar making Ruby stunned for a second not expecting such monstrous yell come from Guts.

Ruby got a bone chilling shudder in her bones as she felt the exact case of this battle had changed before her eyes.

This wasn't a simple spar anymore.

This wasn't a fight to the death anymore.

This was a situation that if she didn't come out on top the entire school was in danger.

Screw the Grimm or Terrorist threats.

If Guts left the arena he'd butcher the entire city of Vale single-handedly.

Ruby had to bring him back to his sanity or defeat him or else catastrophic consequences would be reaped upon the world.

Even now she doubted even Ozpin could stop Guts like this.

No this had to be her. She couldn't run.

She had to fight.

She had to stop holding back.

"Guts pull yourself together!" Ruby said

However Guts used this as an opening and lunged at Ruby with a brutal swing.

"Eep!" Ruby screeched and jumped back as Guts crossed the threshold within seconds and swung down at Ruby.

With the edge of the blade the Dragonslayer cracking the floor. Before with it's much harder force than when Guts was swinging with the flat.

In the Stands the audience noticed the shift in tone.

The Professor went ridged. Seeing the power. Guts had

Ozpin turned to Glynda.

"Ensure that the Students are safe." He said

Glynda turned to Ozpin trying to interpret the order.

Only for her arguments to die on her face.

For the first time in her role here in Beacon

They watched knowing that if Ruby couldn't deal with Guts now it would be the end of Beacon.

Back at the battle Guts kept on the offensive sending Ruby back.

Ruby smashed into the wall again her Aura taking a dip to 65% that was just a glancing blow.

Ruby stood up wabbling her own determination set

Diplomacy wasn't working.

It was as if Guts was blind to his own rage.

Ruby just had to fight.

Ruby sighed "you've given me no choice Guts." Ruby said

Guts however didn't say anything he just snarled monstrously.

Ruby in a slit second leveled Crescent Rose forward and blasted Guts at least 5 times with her sniper

All landing within a second of each other

All landing on his chest

Guts roared as he blitz forward towards Ruby

Ruby used her semblance to dash away as Guts smashed where she was before

Ruby appeared behind Guts and Swung Her scythe at Guts

The clashing of steels met, halting the attack.

The shockwave Cracked the infrastructure of the Arena.

Which was designed to withstand the blast of a 15 megatons explosion from a minor dust bomb.

The powers they were working with were astounding.

Guts snarled as he pushed his hand forward revealing the Hidden arm cannon at Ruby's Chest

Ruby gasped as she ducked Just in time as Guts fired his Arm cannon accelerating The dragonslayer to Break the stalemate.

Ruby had to disengage. As Guts went on the offensive once again.

Ruby grit her teeth she was running low on aura she looked up to Realize she was in the Red already.

But this stopped being about Aura a long time ago.

Ruby struck keeping up the pressure on Guts

Her strikes were like after images

The camera's couldn't keep up with her only getting the last devestation Strike she dealt to Guts

Which had Cut his Aura in half but it wasn't enough

Especially seeing as Guts was able to Parry many of the attacks.

And immediately after the barrage which would have stunned most other opponents Guts countered sending Ruby on the back foot.

'Damn it I need to go faster!' Ruby hissed as she felt her legs shaking with Arousal.

'Damn it not here!' Ruby hissed as she jumped away as Guts tried to fall on her. Which she took to the sky and shot at him trying to keep him at bay.

However, Guys used his Armored hand to block the shots.

Like that woman she faced Torchwick that night.

Except he was using his pure Speed to keep up.

That woman was using something else…

Guts was coming in for another Attack.

Ruby was unable to get focused enough for a counterattack she just had to dodge.

Unfortunately that used her semblances.

Which kicked up her arousal.

If this kept up she's be unable to move due to her Desire to Mate that Guts would be perfectly able to kill her.

Ruby understood this, she knew as of now,

She was under a time limit.

Inside Guts mind it was a haze. A blur.

He saw everything from a distance.

He saw faces he thought he should recognize. But didn't

But everytime he tried to remember his words died on his lips.

Yet at its core he felt calm.

That he could hang up his sword with honor.

Then a shape of Ruby.

'Ruby!' Guts thought.

Suddenly he remembered where he was.

He was fighting.

No. He wasn't fighting

He was lost.

His nightmare turned Real.

The beast if Darkness had won

Again.

How much damage had he done? Guts didn't know but ge had to stop.

He had to stop before someone got hurt.

Back in the battlefield Ruby was trying to think as fast as she could how to Stop Guts should she be incapacitated.

She had nothing

And that scared her.

It scaired her that she was powerless.

Just as she felt that day she got that news her mother had died.

Now instead it was possibly the person who Stole Ruby's heart.

And once again she was powerless to stop it.

Ruby only thought of one thing that could end Guts

And that was kill him mercilessly.

But at the same time that would break herself.

Ruby had to try something.

Ruby grit her teeth as she planned her attack while at the same time setting up a situation that if need be Ruby Could enact that would kill Guts quickly and humanely should she fail.

'Oh god help me make this work.' Ruby thought as she started to Sprint

She needed to go faster.

Guts watched helplessly as if watching a film as Ruby kept running Guts body just swinging Dragonslayer over and over.

Throwing knives.

Blasting his cannon

Everything.

He was trying to kill her.

He was helpless in his own body

Guts wanted to see a better look to hope She was ok.

He wanted to Scream but his voice was hoarse.

He couldn't hear a thing.

His arms felt numb.

His legs felt like collapsing.

His soul…his soul Burned.

It Left him with life in hell.

Ruby sped faster and faster

She felt he limit reaching her the more she pushed her semblance. As she pivoted on a dime rushed past Guts for a Strike ran past him and did it again

Each time she was rebuffed by Guts.

She had to go faster.

Ruby grit her teeth as she felt her Arousal reach its peak. She only had 3 minutes left of her strength before it was game over for her.

She had to go faster.

Her legs burned.

Her muscles ached

Never before had she so much just wanted to Quit now and end it.

It was as if Guts was radiating Dispair

But she had to keep going.

She had to Save him.

Hopefully if she triggered the end of the match it would be enough to trigger Guts to wake up from his combat coma and come back.

She just hoped.

God she didn't want to be wrong.

This was the most painful gamble she had taken.

She didn't think she could live if Guts didn't.

She felt her breath Falter.

Her limit.

Still it wasn't enough.

For the first time in the match Ruby stopped.

Monumentum kept carrying her.

For the first time in her life since she unlocked her semblance

Her speed. Had failed her.

She felt so ashamed. So saddened as she saw the dragonslayer descend down on her.

And then Guts' voice echoed in her head.

Almost as if Taunting her

Knowing she could do better.

"No matter how tough, no matter how bleak, no matter how much you just want to lay down and die. Struggle, struggle against your bonds. Your limits, and your Dreams. For it's only when you break those dreams can you be considered free."

Ruby Grit her teeth.

No, this wasn't her limit.

This was her baseline.

This was her starting point.

Still Ruby never felt so Damn tired.

Not even after her 48 hour training sessions which she had doubled from her regular 24 hours from had she felt this tired before.

She knew it was from her libido.

Guts hunts over it like a primal animal as streaks of red flew over His head.

Ruby rose felt like she was Queen of the world.

her legs previously felt as if they had leg braces on…which she just broke away from.

Ruby rose had just supplanted her Limit

Until she felt the downsides when they showed up.

But now with this new freedom. She felt pure joy again.

Ruby may love the Blood pumping of a god fight.

But Ruby rose will always love to Run.

It's only after the haze had disappeared had she realized how much she missed it.

And for the first time in far too long for her. she laughed.

Her brief pause in everyone's eyes lasted a millisecond

But those who knew her knew what had really happened

Notably Team RWBY who looked at each other

They would have to speak to their leader about what had happened later.

Ruby sprung to the offensive against Guts the barrage being even faster and more deadly than before

As Ruby Rose chipped down Guts's, Aura one percentage each second.

"I will save you Guts. I will not let you die!" Ruby said

Guts tilted his head towards her

"It's too late girly he's already gone." Guts said although not Guts but something darker.

Ruby narrowed her eyes.

"I don't know who are but I will rescue him."

Guts snarled

"I am…the unforgiving…"

Ruby stood still across from guts

Both caps billowing despite no air present in the battlefield.

"Oh Guts you are not." Ruby said sadly

Guts just laughed

"Hahahaha girl…you have no idea what I've done, what I've felt. What I've enjoyed and what I am."

Ruby knew he was trying to scare Ruby but she didn't care. She knew she had to do something

She couldn't live without Guts.

And now faced with the reality. Ruby will not hide from it anymore.

She will tell Guts.

But first he had to live.

She had to rescue him.

"It doesn't matter what you've done I'll pull you back Guts. You deserve the chance to be happy!" Ruby said

"Hahahahaha! Girl I can't tell my happiness if it spat me in the face. Let me show you." Guts said

As he roared and charged

As Ruby and Guts' clashed again.

In the auditorium

The entire school watched stunned by the development.

This was the longest battle they've ever witnessed.

Yet at the same time the power and strikes were just as consistent as the first heavy blows of the fight.

People were starting to understand exactly how outclassed they were by Guts.

And that's not considered about Guts.

Both there Aura meters had shown this

Guts was down in the red finally

Ruby's aura had stayed consistently red sense it got there.

They both hovered around 9%.

People were starting to talk.

"I wonder why they haven't stopped the match yet?" Someone asked

Yang scoffed "like the teachers could if they tried." She muttered

Pyrrha looked at Yang confused

"What do you mean Yang?" She asked

"Look at them, look how Hard they are fighting. Have you ever seen any teacher fight so hard before? For any match?" Yang asked

Pyrrha looked again and finally understood.

There determination wasn't that of winning.

No, this was much more than that. It has been for a while.

In the combat arena

Ruby was starting to understand that this wasn't going to be as easy to save Guts

He had to pull him back.

Ruby started to fire to hold Guts back

"Then let me understand. I'm willing to listen!" Ruby said

"Girl you know not what you ask. The last person who felt this. Knew this past as deep as me…my own lover…driven mad…"

Ruby paused. Distraught.

No Guts still had a chance.

"No matter what I will do what it takes…for you Guts." Ruby said

"Hahahaha foolish girl. Very well it will be a battle of ideas now. Let's see if you can bring him back from his dispare." Guts said as he released his Aura for a read.

Ruby Rose did the same. As the two clashed

And there she saw hope in Guts eyes.

Auditorium.

The audience was shocked at the development.

Having both fighters activating their Aura so while so low.

If not careful they could do permanent damage to themselves.

"RUBY WHY!?" Yang, Weiss and Blake Screamed.

"Oh god I can't watch this." Weiss said turning away.

As Ruby and Guts auras intermixed Ruby got a sliver of the past.

As the man left. To go on a blood vedette.

Ruby saw all the atrocities Guts performed. And all of what he felt doing it.

It was nearly enough to floor her.

"Ruby please…" a voice said

Ruby gasped

She recognized it.

'Guts?!' Ruby

'Run Ruby! Run you can't win. I'm sorry…let me go…kill me.' Guts said

Ruby squinted 'don't you dare.' Ruby said

'Please Ruby let me die…I'm so tired.' Guts said

'But your not alone.' Ruby said

'All I've felt, all I've known, it's gone, I'm all alone,

Don't think, don't feel, don't pity me, I'm turned to stone.' Guts said

"But you're not! But your here! There's people who care I swear!" Ruby argued.

Guts mentally laughed

'Don't lie to me Ruby, you know my past. The most important. I'm unlovable, let me die, kill me and live your life.' Guts said begging Ruby

Ruby grit her teeth.

'I'm not lying to you Guts you can feel my Aura. Read it. Tell me how I feel.' Ruby said

Guts sighed as he looked into Ruby

And he let out a Sick bitter laugh.

'I'll never know how you can.' Guts said

'How, doesn't matter, what matters is that I do.

And because of that I forgive you.' Ruby said

"And how can I blame you, When it's me I can't forgive?" Guts said

Ruby sighed 'but you can learn. Start anew, come live with me and be free.' Ruby thought

'You think you can stand up to my nightmares?' Guts asked

'I believe if we try we can do anything.' Ruby through.

"Unfortunately your still going to have to beat me!" A darker sneer said

'No no go away don't hurt her! Ruby Run!' Guts screamed

"Hahahaha your fear feeds me…so I'll feast!"

"Congratulations little girl…you've got an audience with pure evil…

I am the beast of darkness. All those twisted feelings you shared with each other. It calcified into me. Yes…I am your opponent." The revealed Beast of Darkness taunted

'But I killed you?!' Guts yelled

"You killed an avatar…did you really expect me to go away that easily?" The beast laughed

"Evil is evil…I will do what I must. I will defeat you! And in doing so you will Release your hold on Guts!" Ruby said

The beast laughed.

"Very well we will fight to first blood! Good luck Little gem…I can't wait to break both your hopes and dreams as The inner darkness consumes you as well."

And with that Ruby was kicked from the Aura connection.

Ruby flew into the wall as Guts just found himself staggered.

Ruby slammed into the wall and fell down dazed her scythe clattering to the ground before her.

Ruby felt heavy…

She looked up and found out why.

Her Aura was at 1%

And Guts was still at 9%

Ruby had a mountain to climb.

But she would do it.

She would save the one she loved.

Ruby stumbled up and limped towards her Scythe.

She used it tiredly as a staff.

The Beast as Ruby now knew. used the time to reload Guts cannon

It pissed Ruby off.

To see this vile creature use Guts as a puppet.

Unknown to Ruby her anger had stared to charge her Aura

As it was now hanging around 5%

Inside Guts mind Guts watched in awe as Ruby found hidden strength within her to stand before the Beast of darkness

"Hmmmm cut from the same cloth I see…" the Beast said

"SHUT UP!" Ruby roared

The voice echoed across the campus of Beacon

Everyone froze in shock

Especially Yang

Ruby was never so much disappointed

Here Yang saw her Vexed

That terrified her

'I'm supposed to be the angry one' Yang though

Ruby staggered forward

The beast of Darkness smerked to taunt Ruby

"Look at you child barely able to stand. Give up. Let this pathetic false end-."

Ruby who was hunched forward Shut the beast Up by raising Her scythe and firing one at Guts chest.

The beast Stumbled no longer smiling but livid

"I'll kill you! And break your lover in doing so!" The beast Snarled

Ruby straighten up feeling her bones ache barely able to open her eyes.

"No you won't." Ruby said

The beast Roared as he blitz forward at Ruby

The beast through the heaviest swings possible at Ruby

And they landed

Everyone knew because the Wall broke behind Ruby.

However her Aura wouldn't go down.

The beast Snarled as he swung again

Again a repeat. Ruby had parried it with Crescent Rose

Again and again.

The beast snarled "why won't you break girl?!" The beast asked

"Because you refuse to understand what is important." Ruby said as tired crept into her voice she opened her eyes and for a brief second her Eyes glowed.

Ruby let out an inhuman Roar as she Swung her scythe at The beast.

And Guts went flying.

However Ruby followed up with a charge.

The beast slammed the dragonslayer in the ground to slow himself as he looked up to see his aura

It was gone.

He looked back to see Ruby

And noticed she was charging

The beast leveled the Armcannon at Ruby

But they were too slow.

Ruby blasted past Guts. hooking her scythe around his neck. And holding the position.

Guts felt Blood on his neck.

"Hehehehe, I bow to the better Women. Enjoy your life with her Guts…for I promise I will rip her away from you like I did the last." The Beast of Darkness said as he exited Guts mind.

With Gut's sanity restored Guts gasped and let go of Dragonslayer

The heavy blade clattering against the floor.

As Guts sank to the floor on his knees

A new scar on his neck from Crescent Rose.

He gasped as he started muttering two words .

"I'm sorry."

Ruby who was at this point exhausted as well. Did the unthinkable in Guts mind.

After all he had shown her the truth of what he was. A monster. A child killer. A sick deadly force of nature with nothing able to stop him.

Sure she loved him. But that was before

Before she knew the beast.

And soon she'd abandon him just like everyone else.

As he should to

It would be safer if he was on the road.

Maybe another apostle would kill him here too.

Because Guts knew for a fact now.

He was a threat.

However no matter what there was still someone eh believed in him.

Before that person was Casca.

Later it was Puck. Farnese, Isidro, Serpico, and Sherkie,

And now here. When he felt the most alone…

He had Ruby.

As Ruby Snaked her hands around Guts back and Hugged him from behind and said the faithful words that gave him hope.

"You're forgiven…" she said

And Guts for the second time in his life

didn't shrink away.
