Chapter start
On the ground of Mantle, Team RWBY and Guts walked the streets, amid citizens walking around as if it was fine, although many also tried to Get close to Ruby as she was famous. Making it hard for them to move
"Well it looks like this will be an easy patrol." Yang said
Ruby looked to Yang with a glare 'fuck you Yang you know I hate crowds.'
Suddenly there was a shudder and an alarm making much of the civilians flee while others hung around Ruby for protection
Ruby sighed knowing she'd just slow the others down.
"Yang, Blake, look for Pietro…I don't like this." She said
Yang and Blake didn't question their leader as they ran off down the alley
Ruby looked around and she was alone with Guts, "where are the guards…" she said to herself
Guts shrugged and started to look from the roof as Ruby walked the streets to get the ground view.
She turned around and noticed chanting, Ruby went down the alley to investigate and found a group of Fanuas protesting,
"What's going on here?" Ruby asked
Everyone stopped and looked at Ruby
The woman stepped forward,
"Are you here to protest the Tyranny that is Atlas?" She asked
"Tyranny?" Ruby asked
"The army has been called in yet they do nothing but patrol the streets, and. Force curfew." The woman said.
Ruby sighed, "look there is a lot more going on you don't know. The General-." Ruby was cut off by the Grimm Alarm going off,
'Shit not now!' Ruby thought
"Quickly get to safety!" Ruby said trying to get the citizens to flee
The women looked confused at Ruby. "What are you talking about? We can fight." She said
"Um you can?" Ruby asked
Suddenly there was a crash and a scream Ruby turned backed to them "Ok whatever, follow me!" She said as she ran back to see the attackers.
Ruby looked shocked as she turned the corner and found the street being filled in by Separatists and Grimm,
"Who the hell are these people sending Grimm into the city?" The women asked
"Don't worry, I'll deal with them, just keep them from entering the building with the Cross and kill all the Grimm!" Ruby said as she vanished in a pile of Rose petals.
The women sighed while another one was bouncing around very very happy,
"What made you so happy?" She asked
Robyn, did you not recognize her? That's Ruby Rose!"
The women Robyn turned around shocked that she didn't recognize her idol "what?"
Ruby ran down the street and vanished and appeared on the wall of a building Crescent Rose opened as she jumped off and lunged at the Separatists. And cleaved into them and the Grimm, bisecting 10 of them in one swing as she landed on the ground intimidatingly her hood flown up over her head.
Robyn narrowed her eyes, "she's killing them with no remorse." She said
"We should stop her." May marigold said ready to intervene when Ruby vanished and they lost track of her
As the happy huntress tried to search for Ruby they heard a scream.
They turned around and saw a hostage situation as one of the guys were pointing a gun at someone
"Alright stand-Ack!" He was cut off as a blade stuck out of his chest as he fell to his knees and they found Ruby standing behind him impassively. Before she killed another
They were about to run in, when suddenly they noticed a Separatist point a gun to a woman holding a baby,
He fired once killing the baby making the women scream in anguish before killing her as well
The happy huntresses were horrified, at this. Something just killed somebody else in cold blood
Ruby appeared behind the man who was grining.
Ruby spun around to see the women she failed to save, and tched to herself as she activated her Weapon and flipped the blade around and spun with a clean swipe severed his head from his body,
On The guy that killed the women was a radio which broadcasted orders. {"Alpha team Move up to the next square kill anyone who you see!"} it called
Robyn growled "these are not Atlas citizens, monsters as bad as the Grimm." She said as she dropped to her knee and opened her weapon and fired an arrow stabbing one of the guys who were leaving in the back making his buddy turn and get hit in the Eye making him scream
"Argh!"
Ruby in a spin of momentum beheaded him.
She turned around and noticed the happy huntresses Charging,
"Got over your shock yet?" Ruby asked
Robyn glared at her upset, "I thought you were supposed to be a moral character here?" She asked
Ruby glared back not stopping killing the separatists "how does stopping these bastards from blowing up Atlas, and crushing Mantle below not qualify as being moral?!" She hissed as she spun back and changed crescent rose into a sniper and killed several Separatists from a far.
"Wait what? They want to commit mass murder since when?!" Robyn asked
"Always have been, You just didn't know about it because it's highly classified." Ruby argued said
Robyn looked back at them. As the happy huntresses were cutting down the Grimm but Incapacitating the Separatists,
She noticed one was getting up and Heading to Flora, Robyn grit her teeth, and Rushed forward,
Flora looked behind her just in time to see the man about to kill her,
When suddenly three arrows popped out of his face, two in each eye and one through the mouth as he fell dead.
Flora looked to see Robyn holding her weapon out,
"R-Robyn?" She asked
"Show them no mercy HAPPY HUNTRESSES THESE PEOPLE ARE LETTING GRIMM INTO OUR CITY, THAT MAKES THEM AS BAD AS THE GRIMM THEMSELVES!" She said as she held her weapon by her side and fired to a Corpse which groaned and twitched as he was playing dead.
"Count the dead and make sure they stay dead." She hissed as she ran off, into battle this time showing no remorse as she severed an arm off a Separatists.
The happy huntresses were appalled at the orders. But also noticed Ruby and Robyn fighting side by side.
Flora grit her teeth,
"Come on what these people are doing are not right," Joanna said
The group was running towards one of the Separatists in the far back, he got spooked seeing them coming and started to run away, the happy huntresses stopped thinking he was no threat.
Suddenly from the Air Guts fell on him impaling him with Dragonslayer.
Suddenly out of the wood works more came charging at Guts,
"You bastard!" He fired his gun
Guts swung Dragonslayer and cut down hordes of Grimm and Separatists.
Finally they all died as Guts stabbed Dragonslayer in the ground "this sector is clear." He said
Ruby nodded. "Go to the next block I'll check up on Maria."
Guts nodded "good luck." He said as he lifted Dragonslayer and ran down the alley.
Robyn and her team was shocked,
"What…what was that?" She asked
"Citizen!" A voice said behind her "this area is under level 2 quarantine, please head over to the shopping plaza immediately." A local Atlas soldier
said with two other with him. All three wore body armor that covers their upper bodies. It is a Black color, with Red highlights along the helmet and arms Their helmets cover their faces almost entirely, barring their mouths. Their pants are black, with some gray areas on them, and they have a belt with a few pouches, a handgun strapped to their hips and a sword in collapsed mode strapped to their lower backs. They are also seen with rifles strapped across their backs.
They all held rifles, one however was holding a heavy Rifle with a box magazine on the side with a shoulder sling and Bipod. A heavy Machine gun
The first thing Ruby noticed was they had Black armor instead of standard white signaling they were apart of the Black Array.
"Stand down Soldier there with me." Ruby said
"Who are?" The soldier asked but Ruby flashed her card and they all snapped right to attention. "SPECIALIST ROSE! I'm sorry!" He said
"At ease. we're in a war zone, keep your guns up." Ruby grit out,
The men stood ready,
"I need you to plug that hole, if you don't Grimm will keep coming in, do you have an Auxiliary attachment?" She asked
"We are the Auxiliary madam." Another member said
"Where is the rest of your squad?" Robyn asked
The three looked at each other but Ruby nodded wondering as well.
"We got separated, in an explosion, 2nd street is blocked off." The final one said
"That's a major highway to the access port for airships in and out of the city whats the traffic like?" Robyn asked.
"Its only from one corner to the other in a weird way, not natural." The first soldier said
"The Separatists might be trying to make there way towards the center of the city,"
The three soldiers winced "the Separatists are here?"
Ruby nodded
"Who else would blow a hole in the wall and let the Grimm in?" She said
The soldiers looked at each other then back at Ruby,
"We'll follow you madam, what do we do?" He asked
Ruby spun and collapsed Crescent rose as she walked past. "Make sure no Grimm gets into the city from that hole. "If your good with that machine gun, perch up in one of those windows on that building," Ruby said pointing to the corner store on the left nearest the hole. Giving a good vantage point,
"Madam what about you?" The first asked her
"I'm going to see about clearing a hole in the makeshift blockade to see if we can't get anymore forces here to help out."
"Ruby!" Robyn called as she looked back
"What about this, Maria?" She asked
"I'm ok!" Maria Carviara said walking into view with Dr. Pietro in tow. Robyn looked back at Ruby wondering if she was Crazy.
Ruby "Ms Carviara, please take Dr. Pietro to Atlas as soon as possible." She said
Dr Pietro stepped forward "why what's happened?" He asked worries
Ruby sighed "We believe the break in is an attack on your life Sir, please get to Atlas immediately." She said
"No need to tell me twice." He said as she started to walk.
"I may be old but I won't let a single scratch harm him, he won't even get a blister!" Maria said cheerfully
"I have robot legs women…" pietro said bluntly showing he was not amused
Maria and Pietro bantered back and forth as they walked out of sight.
Ruby turned around, "you four, as much as I trust that old woman with my life she's just that an old women." Ruby said she didn't have to say anything else as Robyn snapped out orders, "Flora, May go after her, Joanna you come with me." She said
Everyone nodded and broke off as Ruby, Robyn and Joanna stood around each other,
"What do we do?" Robyn asked
"Stop the threat." Ruby said simply. As they ran to second street to see the Blockade
Ruby grit her teeth as she looked at the rubble it was as tall as the buildings around it "Damn it this shit isn't moving!" She hissed
"I can perhaps get over it and see what I can do on the other side!" Flora said
Ruby shook her head "negative I don't want to risk it come on let's see what we can't do elsewhere. Others will just have to pick up the slack." Ruby said
Down the street the team of 2 spec ops Soldiers were perched on the window of the apartment looking over the breach, one was on the ground.
"Ready?" The commander who was posted as lookout on the ground asked into his scroll.
The man on the machine gun cycled the bolt
"Locked and loaded commander." He said
"Alright now we wait for them." The feeder said
{"no need here they come"!"} The commander shouted from the scroll.
From the window the hole from before exploded making it larger as a big mech stood in its entryway
It was an Atleasin paladin.
The Spec ops units froze, unsure if they were friendly or not.
They got the answer quickly as Black fang members strode in
The troops perched didn't hesitate as he gunned them down
"Commander inform command Black fang are confirmed working with the Sepratists." The feeder said
{"I see it, Damn it this is bad, Solid copy, stay strong."} the commander said as he hung up
"Shit we gotta move!" The gunner said as he lifted the rifle on his shoulder
On the ground the Paladin turned to face the window and sent a rocket at them.
The troopers were sent flying as the building crumbled around them
They got up and groaned
"Reposition quickly! We need to plug that hole again!" The gunner said
"You go I'll call in support!" The feeder said
The gunner ran to another window and began to open fire.
The feeder called on his scroll "commander come in Commander we need Support heavy weapons pronto." He said
He only got static as he growled
"Any luck?" The gunner called
"No we're on our own." He said
The gunner sighed
"Well…fuck…ok…let's go!" The gunner said as he began to open fire.
Fortunately for the two the commander did hear them unfortunately right as he was about to reply his scroll broke.
Knowing he's be more useful to get support he ran to wave down a Manta.
He was fortunate that he did as he flew back to Atlas
On the ground the Black fang gained ground quickly filling out as an entire armored division of Paladin's stormed the entryway. It took a good five minutes as they stood in squads ready to spread out.
A beetle Fanuas stood as commander having two mandables coming out of his mouth which his mask fit around as he looked around his troops
3 infantry Squads of 10 each and an Armored Squadron of 4 Paladin's as heavy support,
Clearly not enough to take the city but then again it doesn't have to.
He started forward to try to address the troops.
"We need to establish a forward operation base to that end Paladin's 1 and 2-!"
He was cut off with a bullet to the head
In the air above them a sniper was in a Manta…
Wearing a set of the standard Black array Armor but he also had a larger helmet to fit the extended viewfinder that automatically hooked up to his Scope to accurately locate where he was pointing the gun.
The helmet had a built in Targeting computer so a Spec ops sniper can go on missions alone and they didn't need a spotter for far away shots.
The Sniper lowered his rifle as the pilot nodded and they flew off to their base.
On the ground the other two fighters sighed as they found themselves shooting at the army before them.
As the Black fang members charged they found themselves gunned down as two Atlas Gunships Strafed the ground letting up on the autocannon before pulling up
As they leveled out and up the back opened and 2 squads of Atleasin Knights-200's landed in the streets.
However they landed scattered and not in parade formation.
As the 26 androids started to gun down the terrorists.
It was a good thing that the Androids were scattered as the Paladin Squadron started to launch missiles to blanket the area and destroy the ground forces. While the Arm cannons tried to gun down the fleeing gunships.
The gunships got away and only a group of 5 Knights were scrapped.
Seeing the major threat the Machine gunner cycled the bolt and took aim.
He took a deep breath and fired.
The hail of Bullets were enough to blanket the sky.
However they weren't scattered but pinpoint.
To the nearest Paladin
The Black fang operator only registered a blur of tinkering of armor before the bullets finally cut through the Armor protecting the pilot.
The explosion of the Paladin was enough to be seen from Atlas academy.
The gunner tried to focus on another Paladin but was suppressed by it instead
After a few minutes he looked up and saw the streets were a lot emptier
The Insurgents had Spread out down the side streets.
As well as the Paladin's we're no where to be found.
"Damn it." The gunner hissed as he grabbed his scroll.
"Specialist Rose, we have an issue." he said
{"what is it?"} she asked
"I've lost sight of the Black fang at the breach on 3rd avenue; it appears they've spread out among the streets."
{"shit, street to street fighting is the worst, and with Citizens running around too this is bad."} Ruby said
"What do you want me to do?" The gunner asked
{"Stay there I'll call Ironwood and see if he can't send more troops in to help the situation for now make sure nothing else gets through that hole."} Ruby said
Ruby stood on the corner with her scroll to her ear as the Gunner responded
{"Understood Ms. Rose over and out."}
Ruby lowered her scroll and sighed
Robyn and Jonanna came up from behind her
"What is it?" Robyn asked
"We got more insurgents in the city. They defused themselves into the streets." Ruby said
"But the section hasn't been fully evacuated yet!" Jonanna said
Ruby nodded "which is why it's up to Us to make sure that the casualties don't mount." Ruby said as she opened her scroll
"Blake, Yang talk to me?" Ruby said
{"no action from us we're getting a little worried."} Yang said
"Well don't."
{"I've received word that Separatists and Black fang have dispersed into the City in this section. We cannot allow them to establish themselves here."} Ruby said through the scroll
Yang who was running down the street alone stopped and put a finger to her ear.
"Rodger, Ruby, we'll handle what we can."
{"I'm going to get word to Ironwood for reinforcements. As of now the situation is untenable with just us."}
Yang nodded "it will be rough but we can hold out until chalverly." Yang said
{"Alright girls don't push yourself too much, over and out."} Ruby ended the call.
Yang looked over to Blake "you heard all of that?" She asked as Blake landed beside her she nodded
Yang cocked her gauntlets "Then we can't waste another minute. Let's go." She said as they both ran down the street.
In his office James got a call from Ruby as he picked it up. Still looking out his window.
"Hello?" He asked
"…Yes…"
"…I see, and you're sure…"
"…I don't feel good sending all our stuff too soon but I'll mobilize what I can." He said
James hung up the phone and turned around to his desk and pressed the button on the loudspeaker to cycle the channel to the military call center. As he spoke in a voice.
Within 25 minutes over 30 mantas and twice as many Gunships flew over Atlas. As James watched them go from his window.
On the ground Qrow who wore his new armor a dark gray collar shirt with a black vest that has cross-shaped buttons, and a white v-neck shirt underneath, dark gray dress pants and black dress shoes. He also had on a ring on his right index finger, two other rings on his right ring finger all three were black.
He also wore a bandolier of Hand grenades made by Guts and Ruby. For anyone they believe can go toe to toe against a Grimm-Apostle or real one and live.
He had on black dress pants and black dress shoes. As well with an open pouch for extra gear.
He sat in a Manta which flew in front with its doors open two others flanking in a V formation with two others with their doors closed. Standing next to him was Clover Ebi, Leader of the Ace-Ops.
He wore a sleeveless Atlesian Specialist uniform that consisted of a white sleeveless double breasted coat with red and blue accents with ornate detailing shaped to the form of wishbones, broad tail with red lining and a four-leaf clover pin on the lapel. His belt had a rabbit's foot keychain hanging off it. Clover also wore white pants and covered his hands with brown fingerless gloves. He also wears blue calf high boots with four dark blue straps and silver steel toe plating.
Clover and Qrow looked out to the city below.
"It looks almost peaceful." Qrow comments
"Yeah let's hope we can keep it that way." He said as he turned away from the door so he could get a clear voice
"Alpha here, Beta, Gamma Sound off." He said
{"This is Beta, Vine and Elm here!"} Vine said in comms
{"Gamma Copy, Merrow and Harriet here."} Merrow said
Clover nodded and looked to Qrow before responding "Alpha team is green. Ready to engage." He said as Qrow Got up and the doors shut as Clover activated his scroll to Show a live call between the other Ace-Ops and was projected in the middle of the Manta as Clover gave his breifing.
{"Listen up everyone cause, I'm only going to say this once. We've gotten Word from Specialist Rose that Separatists have Spread into section 3 but so far have not been spotted outside of there. But they have heavy armor. What's more is the fact that they have reinforcements of a Black fang Contingent helping them."} Ebi said
{"Sir, any idea as to how many were talking about?"}
{"That's a negative we could be dealing with 5 or 500 be prepared for both."} Ebi said
{"any idea what they're after?"} Harriet asked
{"No and we don't care all we are to do is repel the attack and seal the breach."} Ebi said
{"is there only one breach sir?"} Marrow asked
{"that's what intel says."} Clover responded
{"but that makes no sense Sepratists have always breached with several openings to cut off there target why change now?"} Vine said
{"I agree something doesn't add up."} Elm said
{"For now let's just count our blessings. Now there are Storage areas on 4th, 23rd and 47th street, here, here, and here, all of them green to deploy at a moments notice."} Ebi said
{"Do we know where the breach is sir?"} Merrow asked
{"Apparently it's where 2nd and 50th intersect down 50th way but we got eyes on the breach."} Ebi said
{"in that case What are we doing?"} Harriet asked
Clover sighed "we've lost sight of the insurgents they are unsupervised. And Team RWBY can't handle it alone." He said
{"What's our deployment?"} Vine asked as the Mantas flew side by side.
{"stick to your partner were being separated once we land to cover more ground. Harriet once you land find the nearest storage area and get it online. The others spread out and cover all outbound directions of this section we cannot let the Separatists gain a foothold or sneak any farther into the city."}
{"what reinforcements are we looking for ourselves?"} Elm asked
{"once it's established no Air attack is imminent General ironwood is dispatching a Cruiser to us, full troop complement."} Ebi said
{"holy shit, is that necessary?"} Harriet asked
{"The General is not playing around. He wants these people out of his city and Frankly so do I."} Clover said.
He looked over " Gamma you're coming up on your landing site." He said
{"Solid copy Commander see you on the ground."}
{"Likewise anyone else have anything to ask.?"} clover asked
There were none.
{"Alright let's move Team!"} Clover said as the Ship flew up before taking a nose dive towards the ground.
Qrow was holding onto the side looking out getting ready to bail at the right time.
The doors opened
And suddenly they were under heavy fire
"That's a lot of Anti Air!" Qrow yelled
"It's not look." Clover said as he pointed
Qrow looked and saw it
2 Atlesian Paladin's
"Well found the Armor." Qrow said
Suddenly a ships alarm went off
"And apparently it found us." Clover said before he barked "PILOT Evade Eva-!"
A missle slammed into the side of the ship blowing off the wing. As the Manta fell to the ground in a tailspin and crashed with an explosion.
In the Streets Yang and Blake had started to encounter resistance
Unfortunately it was from Grimm let into the city not what caused it.
"Hey Blake?" Yang asked while running down the street
{"Yes Yang?"} Blake asked
"Can you do me a favor?" Yang asked
{"Um…sure what is it?"} Blake asked
"The next time you choose to leave…at least tell me ok?"
Blake gave no response
Yang stopped and pressed two fingers to her ear
"Blake?!" Yang asked
She was cut off by a roar As across the street 3 Sabyr's growled down the way prowling and circling her like prey.
Yang engaged her Gauntlets and sprinted towards them and Jumped up and went to Ground pound in front of them.
The rubble wave make there wobbly on there feet as Yang appered in front of them and slammed her fist in the face of one as the speed of a professional boxer.
She didn't even need to use her Gauntlets But she did and killed the other one. Using the recoil to draw her hand out of the fist shaped hole in the Sabyr's head.
Yang looked at her fist.
"Woah, I now understand what Guts was talking about when he said that sometimes Using your Aura could be overkill." Yang said
A roar was heard behind her as she turned around to see the last Sabyr on the other side of a lamppost
The Beast Lunged bathing in the light of the lamp.
Suddenly a blade stuck in its neck and found itself dangling in mid air its legs limp as Blake jumped down from somewhere holding her Ribbon which was wrapped around the lamppost hanging the Grimm.
"I don't plan on leaving you Yang…not again." Blake said as she caught Gambol Shroud as the Grimm died
"I know Blake, I really do. I'm glad that no matter what feelings we have, we still have each other's back." Yang said
Blake nodded "of course." She said
Yang smiled looking down the road "Let's get professional. I wanna test this body to its limits."
The two charged down the Street leaving Grimm pieces in their wake.
(Ruby and Robyn)
"Find anything?" Ruby asked
"No."
Ruby groaned "Damn it's like they just vanished! Where could they be it's not like it's so hard to hide an army in a major city like this." She huffed
"What do you think there mission is?" Robyn asked
Ruby shrugged "to spread chaos, create havoc? I don't know." She said
"Well if they went to spread chaos there would be a lot more Grimm."
"But there isn't, the sky's are clear." Ruby said looking up to see the sky full of atlas ships
Robyn nodded
"Something else is up. And I don't think it's the doctor either." Ruby said as she went to call on her scroll to warn the others.
Qrow groaned as he opened his eyes. He was buried under a pile of rubble
"Damn what happened?" He asked
He looked and saw he was in the mangled Bits of the Manta
"Oh fuck!" Qrow growled he looked around trying to pull himself out of the rubble
"Clover CLOVER!?" Qrow called
"Right here. I'm fine." He said as Qrow looked over to see Clover sitting down over the dead pilot. Surprisingly Clover didn't have a scratch on him.
"We should get out of here it's not safe." Qrow said
"The doors are sealed shut. And from the looks of it we got buried under other stuff as well. We're trapped until we get rescued ourselves." Clover said
Qrow pulled himself up and looked to his scroll which was his old one as he refused to upgrade as his old one worked just fine.
Unfortunately his semblance kicked in as he opened his scroll it fell to pieces as a shattered screen
Qrow huffed "great."
Clover sighed "I didn't expect they would be this ready for us. My scroll shattered too. I can't check on the team. We're stuck like this." Clover said
"Is there anything we can do? James won't just declare us MIA would he?" Qrow asked
Clover shook his head "no he'll want visual evidence first. All we need to do is survive till then." He said
"Shouldn't be too hard, there are emergency rations in here for this situation right?" Qrow asked as he started to dig around
Clover nodded to the wall where the parachutes are located
Qrow opened it up and found a small MRE emergency ration. Can
"How many calories are supposed to be in these things?" Qrow asked
"I believe over 2400 kcal's." Clover said
"That's 600 meals if we just eat what we need to survive and we have 5 more in each I believe." Qrow said
Clover nodded
"We can survive here for months or we could but we don't have any fresh water supply." Clover said
Qrow nodded "yeah…food is not a problem, it's water."
Suddenly the craft began to shake
"What was that?" Qrow asked
"I don't know…nor do I like it." Clover said as he opened up his weapon
Qrow stood up and nodded
"There's light coming out of that window "think you can squeeze through there?" He asked
Clover nodded "shouldn't be too hard." He said
Qrow nodded as he gathered all the supplies he could from the crash all 6 emergency rations and survive kit for both of them
"We don't know exactly what we are dealing with when we get out of here." Qrow said
Clover nodded
"I can fly out but it's up to you to get out yourself." Qrow said
Clover nodded.
Qrow sighed as he leveled his Weapon at the Window at the top where it was actually on its side.
And fired
The glass shattered and Qrow winched as the glass almost cut him
He held his hand out and boosted Clover up and out of the Manta.
Clover stood on top of the Door and tried to open it from the outside
"Damn it's stuck." He said
Qrow just tossed a bag at Clover which he caught before he exited from the Craft in his bird form before changing back.
"Impressive." Clover said
Qrow shrugged
"We should meet up with the others." Clover said
Suddenly they heard Rockets being fired as misled streaked across the sky to attack other Airborn Mantas
"Regrouping can wait, we need to get rid of those Paladin's." Qrow said
Clover sighed but nodded "lead the way." He said
Qrow nodded as the two walked down the road
Qrow held his arm out.
"Stay close to the wall, we don't know where the Paladin's are."
Clover nodded
Suddenly a barrage of fire was heard and people screaming
In the middle of a square a group of Black fang had repurposed a Paladin as an Anti Air battery. Piling up rubble around as cover and some of its armor that's not needed to focus on shooting down more aircrafts.
"What's the plan of attack?" Clover asked
Qrow tapped a Grenade on his bandolier
"I don't want to use it, but I don't want that Paladin staying there longer than it needs to." Qrow said
Clover nodded
"Where are you aiming for the Cockpit or the base?" He asked
"Cockpit the explosion will set off a chain and kill everyone; anything else will just alert them to us." Qrow said
Clover nodded "that's the pull time on that grenade?" He asked
"10 seconds." Qrow answered
"Give me one." Clover said
Qrow looked over and sighed as he turned and pointed to one
"Pull." He said
Clover grabbed and yanked hard setting it lose
Clover juggled it for a few seconds before flicking his Pin and lobbing it over the both of them.
In the Paladin the Black fang Fanuas was laughing as he shot down another Gunship
Suddenly he heard a clanking as he looked over to see a large black orb next to him
"WHAT THE-!?" The grenade went off sending the Top of the Paladin Skyward about 10 feet up before crashing down.
"Effective." Clover said
"Yeah let's move, we need to count the dead." He said
Clover nodded and followed.
They reached the camp and counted the dead and sighed they were fortunate that they only needed to have one go at it.
"Ok now we can meet up with the others."
Clover nodded as they started to head off.
Suddenly a large shadow hung in the sky
As the two looked up and they saw the Large Atlas Cruiser above the city.
At the Breach the Auxiliary troopers were surprised the massive ship hung in the air…
"Holy shit!" The gunner gasped
"Backup?" The feeder asked
Suddenly a swarm of gunships flew down towards the city and spread out
"Yeah backup." The gunner said
On the ground Guts was hunting for Sepratists but had no luck it was getting annoyed why were they so hard to fucking locate?!
Guts heard an explosion nearby and ran to it to see what happened
And he met the jackpot.
2 squads of Blackfang were marching in the street.
Guts prepared Dragonslayer ready to charge in
When suddenly an alarm nearby him went off
Thinking he had done something wrong Guts looked around
However it wasn't him it was the fact the black fang had crossed the threshold of a street which was converted by a Group of Atlas knights.
Suddenly one of the walls Spun around to reveal wall mounts which held 3 squads of Knights hooked up
The knights popped off the wall and faced the black fang and didn't hesitate to start to gun them down
Guts smiled and charged in the Frey.
As looked around and felt the ground shake.
Guts looked over and saw an Atlesian Paladin stomping across looking for its black fang Allies.
Guts smiled and Charged at the Mech.
The mech noticing guts shot at him but he was able to dodge the fire and Iept into the air and slam down on the machine breaking off the Arm.
As guts landed he didn't allow for a follow up as he spun around and bisected the machine at the top of the legs right as it was about to punch him.
The top half fell and hit the ground as the Black fang grunt coughed as he tried to climb out.
Unfortunately staring at him was a group of the Atleasin knights.
The robots didn't hesitate and gunned him down.
The robot looked to guts now with the threat neutralized
{"We will remain and cover this sector you move on and see what you can do there."}
Guts nodded and ran off.
Qrow and Clover found the rest of the Ace ops soon after. They had accomplished there objectives and were waiting for orders to search for there missing two
Marrow was shooting down the street in a gun battle with a few Black fang.
"Damn it we don't have time for this, we need to find Clover!" He said
Elm knelt down changing timber into rocket launcher mode.
"Clover can Qrow can handle themselves." She said
"Yeah but what about is we got a full wave of Sepratists incoming!" Harriet said running around the corner in full panic
"What?!" Marrow asked
Vine was stunned
"Where did they come from?"
Marrow had his hand on his chin to think when suddenly he was grazed by a bullet from behind
He grit his teeth and turned around to see two more Black Fang he missed
"Damn it there's no end! I hope Clover and Qrow are in fact alright." He said
Suddenly from the roof Clover and Wrow dropped down and killed the two black fang members with quick efficiency.
"Huh what do you know they are ok." Marrow shrugged
"What happened we tried to call but we got no response?" Elm asked
"Our scrolls broke in the crash we had no way to call anyone." Clover said before he looked over to everyone
"Report!" He snapped
"We've seemed to repel the black fang that snuck in that Ruby mentioned, but now actually Sepratists are showing up." Harriet said
"How is that possible how are they getting in. The only breach is on."
Clover nodded
"2nd street. Which means they were already here beforehand." He said
"Fuck." Elm cursed
"We need to flush them out try to capture a few of them alive and see if we can't uproot this local cell on our hands." Clover said
"That's not a problem there on there way here now." Harriet said
"Move to defensive positions!" Clover snapped as he drew his A1.
Elm used Timber to make a makeshift barricade where the rest of them stood behind them each holding there own pistols.
"Anti-Huntsman rounds?" Qrow asked
"Not until we know what we're dealing with." Clover said
Qrow nodded
Yang and Blake ran down the street trying to find anymore Black fang or Separatists who were now confirmed to be in the city.
Yang growled as they found another empty street but reference to fighting recently.
Yang moved down the next street and found 4 people walking down the street Maria and Dr. Pietro and two others.
"Maria!" Yang yelled as she ran at her.
Maria looked over "oh good there you are I'm almost thinking that-."
Maria was cut off when Yang jumped over her and flew towards Dr. Pietro and behind him was a Razorwing about to swoop down and claw at him.
Fortunately Yang got there first and killed it landing in style
Yang stood up and flashed a thumbs up at Maria who smiled
"Thanks for that I can't believe I let my guard down like that." She said
"Your fine madam. We're just glad to see that your alright." Blake said landing on the otherside of her
Yang smiled as Flora and May made there way back to Maria and Pietro
"That route is damaged as well. I'm not sure there is a really good way to get to Atlas." May said
"Well can't be all too bad if anything else we can call in a Manta to pick us up." Yang said
"Don't you think that might be a bit much Yang after all they're busy in the sky." Blake said
"Wait your Yang Xiao Long." The other Huntress said who started to jump up and down.
"Then your Blake Belladonna?"
The other one gasped before as one the two turned and silently screamed at each other in excitement.
Yang and Blake give a sidelong look.
"I knew Ruby had fans but I didn't expect us to." Yang said
"Are you kidding? We watched you in the tournament you were amazing!" Flora gasped
"We really need to find a way to hang out sometime the way you work together is amazing! We're all graduates and formed a team and we've been at it for years now but even then we don't have the coordination you have!" Flora said
"Is it true your only first years?" May asked
Yang and Blake looked at each other "let's keep going and we can explain on the way."
As they walked each of them got an alert that more forced were released into the city the others looked up
Yang was about to say something but Flora and May spoke first.
"You go on ahead get the Doctor to safety! Well hold them off." May said
"Are you sure we can help." Yang said
"Go." And be hero's welcome look up to." Flora said
Blake and Yang nodded to each other as they helpless The doctor and Maria out of there.
"Alright now let's take care of our city." Flora said
Blake looked at Yang
"I hope there going to be alright." She said
Suddenly there was an explosion followed by several screams behind them as Yang smiled and shrugged
"I'm sure there probably fine." She said
"But we won't be if we slow down anymore." Maria said
"You know for an old lady who is incredibly slow you sure do love to go fast." Yang said
Suddenly a large Centenil Grimm appered which freaked out Yang.
Maria just smirked as she activated her walking stick and launched herself at the beast looping around the beast's neck and cutting it before she grabbed onto the lamppost and hung there.
"I might be old and Rickety but I'm not out of action yet."
Blake and Yang walked forward impressed
"You need help getting down?" Blake asked
"A bit my legs are not as they use to be." She said
Maria was helped down by Blake as they continued through the streets.
In another portion of the city more and more troops arrived from the Atlas cruiser from gunships.
But these weren't Atleasin knight's.
No, they were standard infantry.
A whole mechanized Platoon worth.
The Commander stood next to a Paladin as he turned around to face the troops
"Attention!" He said as the troops stood ready
4 Atlas Paladins,
3 infantry Squads
And 4 Armored Cars made up the platoon
"We re here to make sure that this city is safe! We will make sure this city is safe or we will die trying! And I will not have men die on my watch am I clear?" The commander shouted
"sir yes sir!" The troops echoed
The commander turned to the Spec ops members
"Head on home boys we got you covered."
The two spec ops looked at each other and then at the commander
"Thanks Sir, good luck," the gunner said "Give them hell!" The feeder remarked As they headed off down the road and around the corner to another battlefield.
The commander sighed as he addressed the men
"Alright here's how it's going to play out
Ruby, Robyn and Jonnanna are met with another barrier.

Jacques sighed, he looked up at the news which he got from a tv outside his cell,
"This just in an attack on the city of Mantle below by Grimm. Huntsman and Atlas military personal are already hard at work to stop the violence."
"And in other News: Weiss Schnee has just been declared CEO of the Schnee Dust company, with her father in prison for child abuse, and aiding and embedding a terrorist organization. It seems only hope is up for the future of the Schnee Dust company." Another reporter said
Underneath the headlines read, Weiss Schnee Vietos Archaic baring Devorce."
Jacques is shocked "No!"
He sits down, his head in his hands, "how has this all gone wrong?"

Location: Atlas [SENTINEL Power armor base facility outpost] "73-BC"
[Team: inbound.]
A lone Manta flew in the sky across the Icy desert of Solitas
"Listen up Blue team, I don't want any distractions, we go in search the area, find out what happened and Exfil." Ghost said
"Sir what if it's under Separatists control?" Greg asked
"Then we kill anyone we see check em for information if they found the Suits, and if that information leaked, Suit up and Exfil." Ghost said
"Commander I'm not getting any sort of feedback reflection from that station." Elsa asked
"Cloaking?" Ghost asked
"Nada." Elsa said
"I hate dark zones…" Verity said
"We all do." Greg said
"Heh not Greenhorn apparently, fucking Grimm reaper over here." Romulo said
Greenhorn looked at him and just asked
"Are you done?"
"Were entering visual range of the compound now just over these cliffs." The pilot said
"Activate cloak until we can confirm no hostile's." Ghost said
"Yes sir." As the manta shimmered out of existence.
"Elsa do your thing…" Ghost said.
Else walked over. And looked out the window,
"Umm I see a lot of residue, looks like combat forces were here recently but nothing else," she said.
"How recent?" Ghost asked
"A week, a month?" She shrugged
"Then why haven't they check in?" Greg asked
"I cannot say until I get a closer look," Elsa said
"Good enough for me, Pilot put her down," ghost said
The manta still cloaked landed didn't even disturb any snow,
"Romulo I want your eyes in the sky, tell if there is movement, pilot keep the cloak engaged and circle around, once we open up." Ghost said
As they stood one either side of the bay doors,
"3…2…1!"
The doors snapped open and they rushed out "go go go!" He said as there arms raised the door opened and slammed shut and the Manta shimmered out of existence, the only indication it left was the harsh wind that flew by.
"Commander…no signals…no enemies…nothing." Elsa said
Ghost dropped his Guns "stand down Blue team let's head inside." He said
Ghost stopped as he realized something the door was Ajar.
Ghost drew his pistol which alerted everyone. Once he was ready he grabbed the door and threw it open and stormed in, The rest of the team followed
They looked around and cleared the room, ghost huffed as he dropped his gun again,
"Clear!" He hissed
"Commander over here." Elsa said
Ghost walked over to her she was crouching over
"Damn." He said
"Fill me in commander what is it?" Romulo asked
"Two Atlas scientist, weather personal…looks like they were interrogated…it's messy." He said
"Sir do you think the cover is blown?" Verity asked
"If it was, I don't think they would have left the place standing." Ghost said
"What should we do commander?" Romulo asked
"I don't like the fact it's possible the Separatists have Air travel, Romulo stay alert if you see movement alert us immediately, they may try to come back for round two. Blue team listens up. We're going onto phase two!" Ghost said as they slowly made there way to the waypoint walking over the wreck of the weather station,
Finally they reached a corner of a wall.
"Commander nothing is here." Verity said
" there has to be something." Ghost said
"Sir I say we go command free on this one." Elsa said
Suddenly the wall they were standing next to opened up and. Blue team pointed there guns, at a janitor holding a mop.
"Are you Blue team?" He asked
After a silent look at each other, Ghost said
"Yeah…?"
The janitor didn't hesitate as he turned away "follow me."
"Close the door too. We don't want the Separatists finding the damn place when we went through the trouble to hide it so well."
They reached an elevator and dropped down.
"What is this place?" Greenhorn asked
"Iron Holdout. Named after the General himself." He sighed bored,
"If your tired we can show ourselves." Verity said
The janitor looked up, "oh no no your fine, it's just…well it's just the fact the I was itching for action, and we heard the alarm of intruders and only 4 Separatists showed up.
"Only four?" Ghost asked
"I don't think they realized what this place was." He said he sighed "I was just itching to use this gun, if I knew it was only four guys I'd have brought my knife."
"Well bored means your alive," ghost said
The janitor scoffed "you have no idea about working here then." He said as the elevator stopped,
"I see your have…" he started counting, "five people and there are seven Suits, what happened?" He asked
"We have a guy in the air keeping look out for any hostiles just in case the Separatists try another attack." Ghost said
"Call him down here, we got air defenses to deal with that." The janitor said.
A few minutes later Romulo rode the elevator down,
"Glad you can join us." Now prepare to be amazed as the Magic happens." The janitor said as he opened the door.
To a closet full of baggy onesie, on racks
"Um?" Ghost asked
The janitor peered in "oh sorry that's the janitors closet this way," he pointed down the hall and lead them off,
They reached another set of doors this time heavily locked.
"Here we go." He said as he reached down to access the keypad, mouthing off the combo "1-1-1-3-8." He said as the green buzzer sounded and the door opened
"Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the Guardsmen Project!"

The members of Blue team were appalled. It was as if they entered another City of Atlas, all around Scientists were talking to each other as others were testing rifles. And other guns, and some more were doing welding, and a few others were already white boarding designs for a Mark II.
In the middle was the star of the show, Resting on 7 armor stands were seven Suits of New Latest Atlas Tech power armor, what stood before them, were the suits of a metal mesh, and thick woven fiber." The designs were sleek and fully encasing.
"We have others for the other members of the Black Array. At least SENTINEL III, well have to move our production to Atlas if we are to fit SENTINEL IV with this stuff.
"How long?" Ghost asked
"Oh um honestly we expect you came here to Exfil us, I believe most of them is awaiting in storage, on one of the storage floors." The janitor said
"Hey guys…better hurry up in there." The pilot said
Ghost turned around "what is it what's wrong?" He asked
"We've got incoming Separatists forces Bearing right on you guys." He said
"How many give me numbers." Ghost said
"ALOT maybe all of them!?" He said
"What the fuck does that mean!?" Ghost yelled
"Screw it, I'll give you a visual!" The pilot said
Suddenly there was a ping on the scroll and Ghost looked at it, he dropped his scroll,
He turned to the janitor, "please tell me you have an urgent line to Ironwood!" He said
"Um yea in the back!" He said
Ghost pointed Blue team "BLUE TEAM SADDLE UP PREPARE FOR EVAC! He said before turning his attention to the rest of the people he cupped his hands around his mouth and screamed "EVERYONE LISTEN UP WERE EVACUATION SUMMER CONTINGENCY REPEAT SUMMER CONTINGENCY!"
The effect was instantaneous as everyone dropped what they were doing and started to run for the back room. He turned to the janitor who lead them in. "Please tell me you deleted all the data?" He asked
"No it's in the back." He shivered, "get it guard it with your life, we're scuttling this base. Everyone Suited up?" Ghost asked
"Everyone but you commander." Elsa said as she walked over without the helmet on "this things heavy." She said
"It's lighter when the full suit is engaged you need the helmet on." The Janitor said.
Ghost got his stuff on and slammed his helmet on, and the system booted up

Suddenly Ghost felt weightless,
"Woah did you feel that?" He asked
"The feeling of if I just shat my pants because I felt weightless…yea." Greg said
Greenhorn stepped forward "what's the deal boss?" He asked
"We need to give the scientist time to evacuate to Atlas…we need to warn them of what's coming." Ghost said
"I'll patch a line through to Holland." Elsa said
"BLUE TEAM GRAB YOUR WEAPONS WE HOLD THE LINE!" Ghost said
Outside the outpost the Separatists amassed there entire raiding force, consisting of over 13,000 troops.
This was led by a nameless commander in the army.
Is the army all set?" The commander asked
"Yes sir." He said
Suddenly another voice called from behind him. "Commander a word from HQ."
The man looked at the messenger. And sighed "patch it through." He said
The commander picked up his scroll
"We've gotten the call from Marko the base has holds of the Recent development of the Power armor Project. We must get our hands on that to understand what it is they are planning. Failure is not an option, this is why I've given you such a large contingent. Of forces that otherwise might be deployed for more special roles. Find all the data you can on this project."
The commander nodded "yes sir." He said as the call ended the commander addressed the troops.
"Get the air wings into the air, I want us over that mountain yesterday!" He said
Ghost was talking to Holland, "are you sure?" Holland asked
"Yes sir. it's Summer Contingency." Ghost said
"Then May brothers help us all." Holland said.
"Sir we're going to scrap the station, most of the scientist have been evacuated, and said that many of the material assets needed for Mass production have already made there way to Atlas."
"Confirm Blue-1 did you say mass production is already available to be done on atlas?" Holland asked
"Yes sir, they say upwards to 8 more additional suits, of high tech fully encased power armor can be ready." Ghost said
"Hmm that's enough to equip most of the inner circle. Very well. Getting the Scientist's to Atlas is a top priority," but Exfilling with the suits your wearing is also a priority." Holland said
"We can't all Exfil at once without being spotted by Separatists. Blue team is going to hold the line while we prepare the charges, and Exfil after the base and it's evidence is destroyed." Ghost said
"Solid copy Blue team, Holland out." As the call ended
Ghost left the room.
"What's the plan boss?" Greenhorn asked
"We hold the line until the Scientist makes their way to Atlas." Ghost said
Suddenly there was a quake and alarms went off
"The enemy has arrived. Blue team prepare for contact!"

The citizens of Atlas and mantle were enjoying there day. When all of a sudden. On every news outlet. And every scroll came a buzz and a message. That read
"Please await further broadcast."
Ruby looked at her scroll then back up the street she had a bad feeling about this.
Soon every screen was replaced with the Face of James Ironwood.
"Attention Citizens of Atlas…Attention Citizens of Atlas. I come to your homes now to announce an important message to you. Please hear this out,
For years I've heard your outcry. Condemning me for militarizing Atlas's huntsman school and building up an armed force believing I was being a warmonger and wanted to start off a second Great War. This cannot be further from the truth.
In the shadows of Atlas a rebellion has formed. Not in Mantle by the Fanuas or the Slums by the dispossessed, but people who you trusted to give you safe lives who believed what I was doing was wrong. Are were willing to use violence to prove it, I've kept this war a secret not in the hope of dissuading or lying to you. But in the hope to stop the panic that would arose. In time this "Separatists" movement got stronger and got funding off of high wealth celebrities thinking that with me out of power they could use it for their own gains, people Like Jacques Schnee. Which I know you've heard held his own daughter and Heiress to the company hostage in his own home while we went to break her out. As well as many many more.
These people might claim to be Freedom fighters but there not. They are terrorists. They've broken down numerous walls outside of Mantle and released Grimm into the city.
Now I know what you're wondering. "Why am I telling you this? Surely the Atlas military can stop these tragedies right?"
I'm afraid it's not that simple due to new intelligence gathered and after consulting with my advisors I've now decided it's appropriate to declare Summer Contingency."
Everyone in Atlas froze dead looking horrified
"Please understand I don't say this lightly. Everyone needs to band together and work for the betterment of the City. To that end if anyone wants to join the fight please see the nearest recruiting station.
I have no doubt Atlas will weather this storm but we must do it together." James said as he stood up
"Only together do i believe Atlas will stand BUT ATLAS WILL STAND!"
James turned around and heard the chant of everyone in Atlas and mantle who heard the message Echoing out his declaration even through his soundproof glass
James turned back with a ghost of a smile on his face. "As General James Ironwood of the Atlas military. I do say so humbly. Atlas thanks you for your contribution." He ended the message there.
In James sighed as he leaned in his chair " Nervena tell me the emotional Rate of the citizenry in Atlas?" James asked
"90% happy sir." She said
James sat up shocked
"In mantle?"
"The same sir." She said
James wiped his eyes Oz was right All along there were good people in the world.
"Very well. Prepare to open the Recruiting stations. I have a feeling we're going to need to expand the Training Program." James said as he wiped his eyes from his tears.
James heard a knock on the door he stood up and looked as Professional as possible "come in!" He said
Oscar walked in
"Oscar…it's good to see you." He said
"It's good to see you James." Oscar said quiet Ozpin like.
James dropped his hands "are you?"
Oscar shook his head "still asleep…but he heard ever you said and the response. He feels proud of you. Saying
"Even if this is my last life. I'm glad I was able to have being friends with you." Oscar said
James looked shocked at Oz.
"I thought?"
Oscar shook his head "he didn't tell me much about his ability to reincarnate but he believes it might be linked to his magic…and that as discussed before is waning from him each and every day…" Oscar said
"So we may have to plan for the inevitability that you will not be with us one day too." James said
Oscar nodded sadly
"So it seems." He said
"Oscar ask Ozpin this…is there such a material. That magic cannot destroy?" James said
Oscar thought then nodded "he says he will have to think on it but as of now he is unsure but it's possible."
James nodded as Oscar left James sat down
'So there is hope, we can do it all we need to do is have the right mindset. The right motivation, and the power.' James thought
James looked at his deck and pushed a button, "Penny? Penny are you there?"
Penny answered "Yes General what is it?" She said
"It's time to awaken the best of the best, Thaw out Cryo pod 117."
"Sir?" Penny asked.
"It's time…Atlas is at war…"
