Chapter start
It was 2 hours after James Ironwood congratulated Team Rwby from Successful extracting Weiss and Winter from there family manor
3 hours sense Ruby had seen Zodd sense that night at beacon Tower.
And far too long sense she's had a day to herself.
Ruby sighed as she laid on her Atlas Dorm bed reading her scroll.
The beds were four bunk beds built into the wall with a ladder in the middle allowing access to the upper two beds. Along the other side of the wall were four small desks and chairs for each member of the team to study or do other paperwork on.
Below her Yang was playing a video game on her scroll loudly.
Weiss was at a desk studying
And Blake just sat there…not even reading a book just sat there.
Ruby sighed
"Alright fuck it." Ruby said as she tossed her scroll on her bed and jumped down blocking Yang's view.
"Oh come on Ruby!" Yang said trying to look around her
Ruby grabbed the controller and paused the game
"No!" She said, making Yang cross her arms and huff.
"Weiss what are you doing?" Ruby asked
Weiss sighed "I'm trying to get paperwork in order and block out Yang's excessive Gaming. Which you took care of, thanks." Weiss said
Ruby groaned
"So nothing got it all of us are doing shit. Good then it's official we're having a team day." Ruby cheered
All three girls looked at Ruby shocked and stunned
After a few seconds pause Blake slipped off the window sill she was sitting on landing in a crash
"But sis we do that all the time?" Yang said
Ruby turned to Yang
"No, we train all the time. We work our butts off and get good at what we do, but we never have any time for ourselves." Ruby said
"Says the nymphomaniac who had sex 20 minutes ago…" Blake said getting up from the floor running her head
Ruby glared at Blake showing her the comment was not amusing to her.
"That's me but what about you guys? Yang, Blake Weiss, sense we met back up in Mistral, when have you guys left the apartment or house we were staying in?" Ruby asked
The three looked at each other before they started to argue
Ruby cut them off
"Besides going to react to an emergency or join a fight." She said
All three wilted
Ruby sighed
"I get it girls, you're all Workaholics like me, I'm pretty much entirely to blame for this, we had several chances to explore the City of Mistral and we only stayed inside planning our rescue of Haven." Ruby said before she continued
"In Argus it was the same thing. stay at the house. Look for Oscar, plan how to get to Atlas." She sighed her shoulders slumped.
"Girls just admit you need a break." Ruby said
Weiss looked at Blake for a second "well I have to admit I do kinda feel overworked."
"Not to mention the impossibility of The task at hand." Yang said sitting back with her arms crossed
Ruby looked at her feet Guiltily
"I know girls, I'm a terrible leader And I'm sorry." She said
"That's not what we're saying at all." Blake said
Ruby looked up at her.
"Ruby…You give us hope. Yeah the task we have may seem impossible but look at us. We've saved 2 maybe 3 cities by ourselves. And now we're here. Now twice as strong and able to bench press 4 times our weight without needing to activate our semblance." Blake said
"At minimum… compared to someone who has a Muscle's structure designed for that capability." Weiss said, glancing over at Yang on her bunk who flexed her arms.
Blake spoke again.
"But all of this would not have happened if we didn't have a capable Leader like you to lead us." She said
"She's right." Weiss suddenly said making Ruby turn around
"Like the announcers at the Vytal festival said "Team RWBY was the best in Beacon, Period. And while we ourselves had notable achievements to add to that roster. It's you Ruby who completes us." Weiss said
"You didn't force us to follow you into your workaholism, we volunteered. And no matter what happens." Blake said
"No matter where we go." Weiss added on
"Or how far we fall." Yang finished
"We will follow you." All three girls said at the same time with solid conviction.
Ruby looked like she was about to cry she shut her eyes and tilted her head up and whispered so softly it seemed like the wind
"Thank you."
All three girls without looking at each other stood up and piled onto their leader in a group hug.
"So fearless leader where are we off to?" Blake asked
"Well we haven't seen a lot of what Atlas has to offer but I'm sure Weiss has a few spots." Ruby said
Weiss nodded "a few restaurants, a good theater or two, the local mall." She counted
"Mall sounds fun." Yang said
"I can agree with that." Blake said
"I also distinctly remember a spot in said mall that is a massage therapy spot for Huntsman, and is sympathetic to Faunas as well as a plus." Weiss asked
Ruby nodded "I think we're all in agreement. The local mall to start?" Ruby asked
The others nodded
"Alright let's get packed and we can take an Airship there." Ruby said.
As the other girls started to look around for there scrolls and wallets Ruby headed out to the hall.
There she found Jaune and Pyrrha standing across the way leaning on the wall.
"So you plan on going out for a bit?" Jaune asked
Ruby nodded "yeah we're kinda running on fumes I would invite you but." Ruby paused
Jaune smiled "I get it it's more like a girls thing anyways I'm not going to stop Pyrrha or Nora if they want to go but I'm at least going to stay in the dorm." Jaune said
Pyrrha also shook her head holding onto Jaune's arm.
"I'm going to join our fearless leader as he helps be conquer my fears…one of them at least."
Jaune blushed and looked over at her "Pyrrha!" He wined causing her to giggle
Ruby rolled her eyes "ugh did you have to word it like that?" She asked
"What, too corrupt for you?" Pyrrha asked
Ruby shook her head "No, just now it's in my mind and I want to try to be publicly decent." Ruby said
Pyrrha chuckled harder and even Jaune cracked a smile.
Ruby looked at them wryly knowing they wouldn't be any help.
"Oh fuck off go…lay in the sheets…" Ruby waved them off dismissively
Pyrrha smiled back "Gladly." She said turning around pulling her boyfriend with her "Come on Jaune, I'm itching, let's fuck."
Ruby cracked a wry smile trying her hardest not to process the words less they trigger her own hyperactive hormones.
Ruby reached her own boyfriend's room and knocked
"Who is it?" Guts asked
"Hey love." Ruby said through the door.
"Come in." Guts said and a click was heard.
Ruby stepped in
"Hey Guts I-WOAH?!" Ruby said as she averted her eyes
Guts looked up at Ruby confused
"Huh?" He asked
"Pants!" Ruby said loudly
Guts looked down in the process of getting them on his armor and shirt on his bed
"Yeah so." Guts said
"Your basically naked." Ruby said
"That's never bothered you before, in fact you liked it when I changed in front of you." Guts said
"That's when I'm horny and I like to see your toned body. Now however I'm trying hard not to!" Ruby argued
Guts rolled his eyes and finished pulling his pants up and his shirt on.
"Better?" Guts asked
Ruby looked around hesitant at first as she realized he was decent, she sighed "Yes." She said
"I don't understand the difference of me being naked and having clothes on." Guts said
"Well I still think your sexy I'm just…not as distracted." Ruby said
Guts nodded "noted."
Ruby groaned as she now saw the image of her naked boyfriend in her head and found herself getting aroused.
Guts rolled his eyes and started to put his armor on, he spoke to get her attention as he noticed one of her hands snake up her body to tease her tits.
"So what did you want to talk to me about?" Guts asked, snapping Ruby out of it and dropping her hands to her sides "oh." She said
"Well me and the girls have decided we've been burning the candle at both ends and we need a break." Ruby said poking her two pointer fingers together
Guts he sat in his chair his face was impassive
"Ok and what does this have to do with me?" Guts asked
"Well your my boyfriend so I Um…" Ruby said
"Are you asking me out of a date?" Guts asked confused
"No!-." Ruby gasped before clamping up her mouth
"At least not right now. It's just well…we've been spending a lot of time together all five of us not tha any of us mind…it's just that…" Ruby said getting nervous again
Guts smiled understanding
"You wanna spend a Girls night kinda thing."
Ruby nodded
Guts smiled "that's fine, to be honest I understand. You need a break fuck, I need a break it's just, I know that I'm never going to get one…not with this." Guts said tapping the back of his neck
Ruby smiled sadly and wrapped an arm around her boyfriend's shoulder
"We'll find a way, love…I promise." Ruby said
Guts smiled as they pulled away
"Yeah go ahead, I'd like to explore Atlas Academy more myself anyways. See what else we can use." Guts said
Ruby smiled "thanks love." She said as she kissed his cheek. And walked out.
Ruby got back to her room and found the others waiting for her
"You girls ready?" Ruby asked
"Waiting on you, Ruby." Weiss said
Ruby nodded, grabbing her wallet and scroll which was laying on her desk and put them in a pocket.
"Checks!" Weiss said as standard team system they did whenever they left the Dorm to make sure they didn't forget anything for classes when they attended Beacon like they did the first day (embarrassingly)
"Weapons?" Ruby called out
"Blake here." Blake said holding Gambol Shroud
"Yang, Armed and ready." Yang said pumping her gauntlets
"Weiss ready for action." Weiss said drawing her weapon and spinning the cylinder.
"Ruby, Sharpened to slice." Ruby called posing with Crescent Rose and as one they folded there weapons and stored them on their individual persons.
"Wallet checks?" Weiss said
"Ruby here." Ruby held her Wallet up
"Blake here." Blake followed suit
"Yang here."
"Weiss here." She said as they all held up color correspondence wallets.
"Scrolls and connection?" Blake said
All three drew their new scrolls and checked
"Running off Atlas Wifi." Ruby said
"5 bars LTE." Weiss said.
"Access to International Calls 24/7." Yang said
"Signals are crips too." Blake finished as all four girls out there scrolls away
"Anything else girls?" Yang asked, looking around as herself being the last was always, final check.
Ruby looked around "umm no I don't think so." She said as she started to walk toward the door.
"Oh, I found something." Yang said
"Bah it's probably nothing!" Ruby said
"I don't think so." Blake said looking over to Yang, concern echoed in her voice.
"Ruby…does your neck feel kinda…light?" Weiss asked
Ruby snapped a hand to her throat to feel pure skin Panic etched in her eyes
"My choker!" She gasped as she spun around and sighed in relief.
Yang held said choker up with her thumb and forefinger with a knowing grin on her face.
"Oh thank gods you caught that. That would've been bad." Ruby said as she stepped back into the room
"You're right it would have." Weiss said
"Especially with how the enchantments have been affecting you." Blake said
Ruby blushed and looked down, twisting her ankle bashfully.
"Ruby, we don't blame you." Weiss said
"We are with you all this way." Blake said smiling
"Even if your high maintenance." Yang said with a teasing smile Blake elbowed her showing her the joke was not appreciated.
Ruby nodded "thanks guys." She said
Yang nudged her over "come on Ruby I'll put it on." She said
Ruby nodded, coming over to her sister and turning around as Ruby picked up her hair as Yang connected the choker around the front and hooked it in back as tight as it would go.
"Can you breathe ok?" Yang asked
After taking a few deep breaths to test out the airflow she determined it wasn't inhibiting her breathing and Ruby nodded
"Ok Activate your aura." Yang said stepping back.
Ruby looked around concerned as all three stood around her ready to jump in if something went wrong.
Knowing they would intervene if the worst happened she sighed and went to activate her aura.
It didn't call as readily as before which was good. The Inhibitor was working. Ruby had to show considerable strain before a Flash of red enveloped her body. As she cut it off the choker glowed Red to match the Aura and as the Protective shield around her faded the Choker stayed the same saturated Hue for a long while 2-3 minutes before it too started to dissipate showing it was in fact "eating" her Aura.
Blake checked her scroll
"Aura rate is still at 100% girls. She is stable."
All four let out a sigh of relief.
"I hate these things, I've heard so often they are prone to malfunction and devour your entire reserve in seconds." Weiss said
"That's more of the older bulkier models; these new ones are less likely to do that." Ruby said
Yang and Blake looked at each other
"Actually Ruby…no… in fact it's even more of a risk as Huntsman use their Auras more frequently and often meaning the device is having to catch up with how much you put into it. The risk of it breaking and devouring your passive Aura is a major concern. And they reason that you'll need a new one every 6 months to a year." Yang said
"And that's pushing it, 6 months at least a year if you have nothing else. But they recommend that for someone with your symptoms honestly once every 2 months of not once a month." Blake said
Ruby was floored 'once a month?! But these are so damn expensive! She looked at the prices online and with the cost of them She'd nearly have to take out a loan to get one each time!'
Ruby was starting to hyperventilate. How the hell was she supposed to work that much to pay for this? Was she going to have to take on side gigs? Or…worse jobs just to pay overhead like this?
Ruby didn't notice she had sunken to the floor until Weiss grabbed her shoulder
"Ruby…you forget who your partner is." Weiss smiled
Suddenly all of Ruby's stress left her in an instant as she chuckled humorlessly still scared stiff but better
"Thanks Weiss." Ruby said
Weiss smiled Ruby looked at the others
"I'll meet you girls at the Airship." Ruby said as she walked off.
The other girls followed their leader talking to themselves
"Ruby was so scared at that moment." Blake said worriedly
"I think it was the entire stress of paying for it. Speaking of Weiss, we owe you." Yang said
Weiss waved it off. "My family has more money than I know what to do with, its fine."
"Still I know Ruby doesn't like to wear it. She does it because she needs to, and the alternative scares her… but she knows the public appearance of those choker's, whether or not their inhibitors. It's still viewed as a sex symbol something that while she knows is it isn't what she's going for right now." Yang said as she swayed before her head met her hands.
"It's just…I felt so scared!" Yang said hauntingly.
Blake and Weiss started to rub her back
"We all were Yang…I think Ruby most of all." Blake said
"That was a scary day in Just glad we stopped her." Weiss said
"It was entirely based on pure luck on that." Blake said
Yang shuddered as they all remember what happened that day
Flashback
It was 2 days after Team RWBY had gotten their enhancements.
Two days since they were integrated into Project Sentinel.
The Team had decided to Test their new bodies alone in the Training Area to put them to the test.
To simply put it they were beasts, monsters in Human flesh.
None of them faced any real opponents. Physical or simulated. But they shadow fought themselves and ran drills.
Those were telling enough.
Weiss would speed around and leave a shimmer like Ruby did as an after image.
Blake had the concussive force of Yangs Attacks in her simple swipes
Yang was able to rocket across the floor in a single bound by just bending and straightening her legs.
All of these had nothing to do with their actual abilities. Which they themselves were boosted tenfold.
Yang's punch's we're able to shift compressed air into shockwave's that had enough force to blast an opponent across the room and slam into the other wall. With 20% force or so much as a resisted flick.
Blakes shadow clones were in fact more scary as she had finally gotten a way to push aura into her clones to make them semi-sentient and act on will.
Before she could only have 1 which made her unable to move as she controlled it with her mind.
Now she could have up to 3 full copies of herself fully functional while she dodged and dished out attacks as well.
The only downside was that each clone could only take a single hit either graze or full on before they fell apart.
And her elemental clones were still immobile.
And Weiss who had the most time to get use to her new body felt as graceful and elegant in the battlefield as ever.
But of course now she was going at speeds that would make Ruby have to concentrate to keep up with her.
She could draw her weapon, summon an Aid and then appear behind her opponent and throw a haymaker at them before they could even blink.
Considering what they had now ranking there members on Toughest Weiss had Shot past her old spot and probably either tied for Yang or even maybe past her due to her speed.
Of course Yang and Blake were not any slouches but her very versatile glyphs as well as how she can enhance them with her own modifications made her a very powerful contender for second place among the scariest people on Team RWBY and the ones the other members fear.
But of course that was only second…
Which left the first and most dangerous Person in a team Full of possibility the most dangerous people on the face of Remnant.
Unsurprisingly that was still Ruby Rose herself.
As she was still undefeated. Her record was that of such stellar performance that people were talking about her in circles as if she was divined grace.
Simply put a War-god in mortal form
And well her track record showed no signs of slowing down.
And there training showcased this
While the rest of her team occupied a small corner of the battlefield only taking up like 3 ft for each member
Ruby was on the exact opposite side just doing normal combat drills with Crescent Rose.
Except whenever Ruby swung her scythe it looked as if it phased in and out of existence.
No afterimage.
No sound barrier breaking,
It's as if the blade is not fucking there, then it is.
In your chest
Killing you.
Of course also while Ruby wasn't breaking the sound barrier only due to the fact that she was going so fast the Sound barrier couldn't register the fact it was happening
Ruby Rose was breaking physics
At the quantum level!
Of course every time she stopped the Entire room shook like it was Rocked by an Earthquake.
At first it felt like a magnitude 3, just a few shaking and a bit of wobbly feet but otherwise ok.
After a few minutes it scaled up to Magnitude 4-5 once she started to go faster.
This made the others look up as Ruby kept going.
"HAYYYAH!" Ruby Roared as she used her full force in one swing in a downward motion like an executioner
Which triggered a massive Magnitude 8 in the scale
Nearly sending her teammates to the ground. The only reason she didn't send Atlas down was the fact the Anti gravity systems and kinetic stabilizers were running at the time, which she broke with that one swing…
Seeing the force it caused as well as hearing the mild panic along the halls the team went to talk to Ruby
"Hey Ruby?" Yang asked tentatively
Ruby looked up still drilling the compressed sound waves flying off the blade of Crescent Rose.
However despite the speed Ruby didn't look tired at all.
"Perhaps you should ah… tone down your usage of your semblance when you train from now on?" Yang said tentatively looking at Ruby concerned she would take it bad. Yang knew Ruby considered training sacred and to mess with it especially hers was akin to blasphemy.
Ruby paused mid stroke as the Sonic boom finally caught up to the fact that Ruby had broke the sound Barrier at least 1500 times over. Making the rest of the team wince.
Ruby looked up confused
"Pardon?" She asked
Yang looked down not wanting her Hyper-dangerous sister to explode at her she started to mumble trying to calm the situation.
However Weiss had no such Quarms.
"For brothers sake Ruby did you not feel that last attack, there's mild panic in Atlas right now with concerns the place is going to crash on the ground! So for now on No using your semblance to train inside the city. That last attack with your semblance was powerful enough to destroy a kingdom in one go were we on The physical ground and not suspended in the sky." Weiss snapped
Ruby just looked even more confused
"Girls I-Um…I didn't use my semblance." She said
All three girls Eyes widened like saucers in panic in fear
"…what?" Weiss asked
"-Surely you're joking Ruby…you're having a laugh on us." Blake said
Ruby just shook her head now, herself getting concerned.
All three girls looked at each other
"If Ruby can do this without using her semblance then what is she capable of when she does use it?" Weiss asked
The others were silent before Yang said
"Only one way to find out."
They stood behind Ruby now who was looking forward and lowered as if about to Run a Track race. Ruby looked back at the others.
"Are you sure this is safe?" Ruby asked
All three girls looked at each other's before they responded
"No." All at once.
"But it's better to find out now then possibly use it in an emergency and do more damage." Blake said
Ruby nodded
"Alright girls I'm running In 3…" Ruby started to count off.
Each girl tensed up knowing a shockwave was coming and anticipating it hence being behind Ruby.
"…2…" Ruby said as she shut her eyes and drew a deep breath
Suddenly getting an idea Weiss summoned a Clear ice barrier to protect them like a ballistic shield which was capable of protecting them of a Massive Dust Explosion capable of Making the blast that would have hit Vale should Amity Fail 1,000,000,000,000 (J) to be exact look like a firecracker.
"…1…!" Ruby yelled as she took a deep breath and opened her eyes.
And all hell broke loose.
The sound barrier broke, Ruby vanished even before her petals could trail her. Rocketed behind her as the empty compression acted as a Solid launcher and was sent back with equal forces. About 2.0 x 10^17th joules of energy.
Needless to say Weisses "quant." Wall of protection Shattered In seconds, the team hit the back wall. Crushing themselves against said wall. There auras shattering instantly! And as they were being compressed by the wind forces they felt as if an Goliath was standing on their chests and all the energy was being focused into tearing their limbs out of there sockets.
And within a second it was gone.
The team fell down limp gasping as if they had gone through a whole month of torture training in the span of a second.
In all honesty their auras had saved there lives if anyone else was with them then, they would be splattered on the wall.
Yang stood up shaky she looked pale the others didn't look much better.
Yang didn't even try to crack a joke just trying her damndist to keep her insides on the Inside of her body.
She failed a few seconds later coughing up Massive amounts of blood to what felt like a full quart Yang still felt more coming but knew she had to keep it down
If it came up she would die.
She looked over to her teammates who were not looking so good either going through the same ordeal as her.
Weiss was trying her best to keep herself down only doing so because she had her enchantments longer thus was able to keep herself in an iron lock state to make her body refuse to move.
Blake however was as pale as Yang
And was clearly drifting in and out of dying.
Yang roared in challenge trying to keep the Blood down in her she would not die here Ruby needed her.

Live!
Yang growled and activated her aura pushing her body beyond the limit. As she grabbed a Aura booster from her pouch and jammed it into her and compressed
Her aura roared to life! Nearly causing her mind to crack from the sheer pain!
But her organs had healed herself expending all her aura to do it, but she no longer had any internal bleeding.
Yang felt her vision blur. Her face is as pale as paper. She still lost a lot of blood.
Damn she couldn't think…
Yang pushed herself up or tried to…
Only to fall down to her knees.
She looked up to see a spent Aura booster near Blake as well.
And as for Weiss.
'How the fuck is she standing?!' Yang screamed in her mind
Indeed Weiss had successfully gotten her feet under her using the power of her glyphs and sheer will.
"Come on girls get up." Weiss said
Blake groaned
"Weiss I don't think I can…I'm doing all I can to stay alive." She said
Weiss looked at her in discgust
"Yang-." Weiss said
She looked over to see Yang in a similar state.
"Yang, your sister needs you!" Weiss yelled
"IM FUCKING DYING OVER HERE WEISS!" Yang snapped
Weiss got up to her face
"Listen to me and listen to me well, your life has only one reason for protecting, Ruby." Weiss said
Yang growled
"You think I don't know that?" She asked
"No but apparently your too weak to do it." Weiss said
*BANG!* Weiss the the far wall and made a solid indent so deep she wasn't coming out unless pulled out.
Yang stood up in rage
Her semblance Activated
"I HAVE TRIED DAMNIT!" She roared over the pain.
Weiss looked at her weakly
"I know…please…save her…" she whispered hoarsely before darkness overtook her.
Yang growled
"YOU BITCH!" Yang roared and charged over to Weiss.
Blake snapped up in panic
"Yang!-Argh!" Blake winced
However Yang was already pulling Weiss out of the wall.
"DONT YOU FUCKING DARE SAVE MY ASS ONLY TO CRAP OUT ON ME WEISS!" Yang roared as she pulled out Weisses Aura booster and jabbed it directly into her heart
"LIVE DAMMIT!"' As se slammed the plunger down.
Weiss shot up instantly and sucker punched Yang! Throwing her head back and giving her a concussion.
Fortunately Yang was tougher than that
Far tougher.
Yet so far only Weiss and Yang looked ready to come to blows, Blake was still not up.
Yang lowered her head and looked at Weiss
"You with us Ice Queen?" Yang asked
Weiss nodded "yeah…just glad you are." She said
"Blake you up?" Yang called
Blake groaned and rolled onto her side but eventually did get her feet underneath her.
"Probably took out another Life or two but I'll live." Blake said
"No time to Pun's Blake, Ruby is in danger." Yang said Ultra serious. Cracking her neck she resisted the urge to wince in pain. There was no time for that.
Blake growled and nodded as she walked over and fell in line with the other two as if she was in no pain at all.
Infact all three were fighting past critical levels of pain. Levels that would make a sane man weep and plead for a bullet.
Heck it would make other huntsmen or even Sentinel's consider the same option, or at least get hooked up on painkillers.
Yet the team looked unphased
This was the Real reason you don't fuck with team RWBY.
They. Don't. Stop.
This was TEAM RWBY in Crisis mode.
By hell or high water… doesn't matter if they had to sacrifice Children, Burn village's, Usher in the New rule of complete Dominance to Salem, sell their souls, or all at the same time. They would save their leader.
Or the world would burn in their attempt.
"First we need to find Ruby, Weiss what does her scroll Read?" Yang asked
Weiss pulled out her old scroll which had a broken chipped screen which cut her finger when she activated it. But she got the message.
"Ruby's safe and is in this room." Weiss said
The others looked around
"I don't see her." Blake said as she used all her extrasensory abilities to track down their leader.
"If she's in this room she's here." Yang said
"RUBY!" Yang called as the others echoed her voice
There was dead silence Yang and the others looked worried
Then
"…ang!"
Yang poped to action turning around
"You hear that?!" She asked
The others nodded
"It sounded like an echo." Blake said
"But where?"
"Ruby, we're here for you, we will save you!" Yang called
Suddenly a tornado circled around them suddenly going faster and faster as it slowly merged into the center of the room showing a giant pile of rose petals as Bright as Neon.
