Rwby: A Gutsy world

Note this is a chapter I wanted to add to my other Berserk fan fiction but I relized it wouldn't fit so I had to change it. So I added it here. Enjoy.

Chapter 26
The Group of Guts, Puck, Sherkie, Illivara, Casca, Serpico, Farnese, Isidro, Griffith And team RWBY, made their way to a local town. The sun just starting to set,
Guts looked over "Find an inn for us. We'll stay here for the night. Before we head off. In the morning." He said as everyone headed out to find an inn. Leaving Puck amd Guts alone
"Just like old times eh?" Puck asked
"Yea…just like old times…" Guts said as he walked down the street,
Puck looked around "this place doesn't seem like it's changed even with the Great tree and Falconina. You'd think there would be at least a few people of Kushans or something here but no." He said
Guts kept walking until he reached the city Center, and he found a large Wooden platform with 2 tiers, the top one holding a tent and the lower one holding an executor block.
"Guts!" Puck gasped as he looked around
He found victims strung up hanging by their entrails, headless as they used there bodies to make a brand of sacrifice with there arms tired above them and their feet tied together,
Guts grit his teeth,
"Guts…what is this?" Puck asked
"This town is not safe, we should go." He said as he spun around and strode away.
From above him a man with a lantern looked to see the two he laughed
"Fufufufufu I don't think so Black Swordsman I don't think so…" he said as he vanished into the night heading back to castle.
Guts walked into the Inn and found Griffith with his helmet off And the others were laughing with everyone.
"It's amazing! And to think you were branded a traitor by the king!" Someone said
Griffith sighed "yes…however I don't think about it, he had his reasons and I just wish he went out happy." Griffith said
"Not likely. Apparently if the stories are true he died barking your name." He said
"Hey, maybe it was him barking at him to come back?" Someone asked which sent out loud laughter in the bar
Team RWBY sat off to the side holding their own beer Yang pounding her fist on the table trying not to spit out her beer from the massive grin on her face,
Guts looked around tensely. He whispered "Puck. Send word to Sherkie we're not staying here we will brave the demons." He said
"Huh but Guts!?" Puck asked
"Don't you remember when we met, when we ran into Vargis." Guts said
Puck gasped "no you mean!?" He asked
"Yes." Guts said
At the castle the man from before with the lantern strode to the throne room and knelt before the throne
"My Queen." He said proudly
"Speak Vastral." She hissed.
"He's arrived…just as you described him…" he said
The women scowled before twisting into a smerk "cocky bastard, just like the day we first met," she muttered
Vastral looked up "my Queen?" He asked thinking he missed a commandment from her,
"Call in the Night blades. I want his head before me by morning." She said as Vastral left,
"Oh and Vastral…" she said
Vastral turned "bring the elf to me…" she said with a smile.
Vastral scurrying away as the women sat back on her throne
Theresia sat on her throne a big crown a bit big for her head on top of it a sickening cruel smile plastered on,
"Oh Puck…I've missed you." She said
Suddenly a door opened to the side and someone strode out, "be careful of him My lady." A voice said
"…He is very dangerous…" the Black shadow said
Theresia grit her teeth "I know just how dangerous he is! He killed by father after all." She said
"Your father, that you admitted yourself, had it coming." He said
"That doesn't mean I didn't love him!" She screamed
There was a pause as the shadow planned his next words,
"All the more reason to plot this Theresia, all I'm saying is be careful, while the Black swordsman is powerful, his most powerful weapon is in fact his friends…" He said as he walked away,
Theresia sat back arm on the arm rest, she scoffed
"Heh The Black Swordsman Friends? No, not till the end of the world. Why would he?" She said
At the inn the Party was talking to Guts like he was crazy
"What!?"
"We're leaving, come on."
"I was so hopeful to get my back in order too." Blake said
"I can help you with the Back problem kitten." Yang teased
"YANG no!" Blake said
Guts sighed "I'm sorry I know I promised but the fact is that this town isn't safe," he said
"And it's not safer than having nightmares every night?" Blake asked
Guts looked around as he noticed the tired looks on everyone. A little negative effect that occurs when traveling with a branded member. The dread seems into the other traveling party members, if two people are active it's worse, and if three or a member such like Griffith is among them then it gives everyone nightmares.
Safe to say everyone was tired having not gotten 3 days sleep some of the best sleep they have was in inn's then being told they have to leave one yea it would put you in a dower mood.
Guts sighed "Yes unfortunately the nightmares are better. Next city we reach we will spend 5 days there so we can rest and fully recover how does that sound?" Guts asked
The party looked at each other and nodded
"I suppose it's better than nothing." Weiss said
Guts nodded "then get your stuff ready we're leaving now." Guts said as he turned back to the Stairs
Sudddnly there was a laugh as Vastral sat on a banister with a flickering lamp
"Hohohoho. Oh boy, you really think it's going to be that easy to leave?" He asked as he twisted a throwing knife in his hand
Guts growled as he looked around to see the room filled with shadowy assassins. As did everyone else,
"Damn we're trapped." Weiss said as she pulled out there weapons as well as anyone who was able to move around in the thin space. To that end Griffith, Weiss Serpico, Farnese, Sherkie, Yang, Blake, Isidro amd Casca drew there weapons.
"Woah woah woah!" Vastral said as he raised his hands to calm everyone down. "No need for bloodshed…settle." He said as the Assassins faded away.
"What do you want?" Ruby asked
"Well honestly. To give you this." As he threw a scroll on the ground by Guts feet.
"A summoning notice?" Guts asked
Vastral smerked "urgent Summon from the Countesses," he said as he snapped his finger and jumped down on the other side of the banister and down the stairs
Yang ran to the stairs to see where he went only to see him vanish,
"Damn." She hissed
"I don't see him out the window's either," Blake called
Ruby sighed "don't bother…he's Gone." She turned to Guts
"What is this about?" She asked
"Guts looked to the scroll and then looked up "a mistake." He said
Griffith stepped forward "well…how do you plan to rectify it?" Griffith asked
Guts sighed "I-." He paused "where is Puck."
In the throne room Theresia roared "WHERE IS HE!?"
"M-my Queen!" Vastral gasped
"I told you to bring me his head! Not to taunt him and make him aware I know he's here! Not only that but you were told to bring me the elf. Not only have you failed to kill him but you failed to bring me as his greatest ally!?"
My Queen if I may-." Vastral said bowing
"TELL ME NOW WHY I SHOULD NOT MAKE AN EXAMPLE OUT OF YOU!?" She roared
"Because we have the elf!" Vastral said
Theresia sat down shocked
"What…why was I not informed?!" She hissed
"I…I wanted to surprise you. You know I'm willing to do anything for you, Anything!" I had wished to surprise you in the morning where you would find him on the window waiting for you." Vastral said
Theresia sat back as a pair of tears rolled down her face and a stunned smile on her face.
A laugh puffed it's way out of her head before another and another.
Before a gleeful childhood laughter filled the air, as Theresia looked at him with a smile "t-thank you. That is very very kind of you." While I cannot allow the fact you let Guts live, your bringing Puck to me is enough to keep you alive. If you bring him to me now…" Theresia said
Vastral nodded behind him and two servants walked in carrying a covered birdcage
Theresia gasped as the servant lifted the cloth and revealed Puck
"Theresia smiled "thank you Vastral you may go All of you." She said before she pointed to the servant "no…bring Puck here."
The servant nodded and handed Puck to Theresia.
"Puck…I'm so glad to see you." She said
Theresia I…what happened?" Puck asked
Suddenly there was a loud voice.
"It is good that you've separated the Elf from Guts this makes him easer to take out, amd we can use him as a hostage to insure He arrives when, where, and how we want him." The shadowy voice said
"I…yes of course." Theresia said looking down at her hands.
"Theresia…" Puck said as he looked at her
'she's…scared…but there love there…' he thought as he looked at the other which caused Puck to shudder and fall making Theresia gasp.
"Puck!?" She asked
The shadowy man appeared before her "we need to keep him alive. Give him to me I will ensure his survival to allow our plan to flourish." He said
Theresia looked down and back at Puck who looked at her sadly,
"Theresia…" Puck said
The shadowy man leaned forward. "The elves can poison your words make all the hatred you've built up wash away." He said
Theresia didn't react as if fighting to figure out if she really wanted this.
The shadowy man changed his course. "He can make you forget why you're doing everything. About the hell your father put up for you…" He said
Theresia looked up gasping "But this is a double edge sword, if you forget and your behavior suddenly changes your subjects will view you as weak, and you don't want to appear weak do you?" He asked
Theresia gulped and shook her head.
"Then give me the elf." He said
Theresia reluctantly handed him over to the shadowy man, "soon…very soon your dream will be realized." He said as he strode out.
Puck looked up at him grabbing onto the bars of the cage,
"I don't know what your plan is but you leave Theresia out of this!" Puck yelled
The shadowy figure tilted the cage upside down making Puck Bang his head
"Ow!" He groaned as the cage was set down
"Finally, the elf is out of the way, now with her being unable to see through the deception, we can slowly poison her mind to be a good vessel for us. Then Humanity heart will darken." The shadowy man said
Puck gasped 'humanity's heart will darken!' He throught
He remembered the Conversation that Griffith had with the Godhand
"No." Puck said
The shadowy man looked at him "of course, she will also suspect if her little friend is missing…no matter." He said as he flicked his finger at the cage and a black blob landed in the middle of the cage splashing and a small drop landing on Pucks foot,
"Hey!" He said as he stood up the Shadowy man started to walk away
"HEY W-WHATS THE BIG IDEA! Get back here you big-huh?" Puck looked down to see the blob on his foot anchored him in place
"Eee!" He groaned as he tried to fly away but his was weighed down by the blob until he was to tired and landed on the ground
Puck looked back and saw the blob getting bigger and creeping up his body
"Eeee! No! no! no! no! nooo!" Puck screamed he tried to grab the bars and pull himself away but the blob had already reached his neck as his grip started to slip before his whole head was covered and he was dragged back to the center of the cage,
Theresia stood over her bed looking down holding both sides of her robe 'Puck…' she thought. 'He's back…the last gift I was given from my father…if he even was my father..' Theresia said as she remembered the slug monster with her fathers voice
She gripped her arm tightly and looked away, as her conversation with the Shadowy man spoke up
"Your father, that you admitted yourself, had it coming." The voice enclosed in her mind,
"But I…" she said as the door opened and Theresia ran back behind the dressing Wall
"I'm getting changed, Vastral!" She said
"Oh! I'm I'm sorry, Countess I didn't…it's just there was a gift a citizen wanted to give you for good health and I wanted to give it to you personally." He said
Theresia looked through the sides of the wall and saw that Vastral looked sad as he looked down,
It's ok Vastral, just put it in the bottom Drawer there." She said
Vastral did so and opened it up to see the entire drawer full of Dead roses each with a note around the stem with a words on it 'I love you.' V.
Vastral steeled his face and placed it in the drawer and closed it standing up. On the dresser itself a photo of Theresia sitting on a Bench in the shadow next to her was the shadowy man but his face covered over, by fallen leaves, but Theresia looks happy,
"Have a good night my Grace." He said professionally as a tear fell down his face as he walked out Closing the door
"Vastral…" Theresia said. As she finished getting dressed she walked over to the drawer, and was about to open it

With a loud bang The Shadowy man stormed in
"Rickin?" Theresia asked looking up at him only as The man Kneed her in the face sending her into her bed, making it screech across the floor,
Theresia grabbed her now bleeding nose with a as she glared at him. Only for her anger to fade into fear as he stood above her.
"You want to prove to your people your not weak right?" He asked her
Theresia shook with fear as she nodded
"You want them to know you are their leader right?" He asked
Theresia nodded again
The man grabbed her by the neck choking her and pulling her to her feet as she grabbed his hand trying to pull it off.
"You want to show everyone you can be strong right?" He asked as he tightened his grip as Theresia grit her teeth and pulled harder before her strength gave out on her and her hands fell limp. As darkness overwhelmed her,
The Shadowy man threw her onto the bed, as she gasped
Only for the shadowy man to land on top of her pinning her arms down. Preventing her from getting up,
"The need to be a strong ruler needs a strong heir, now be a good queen, and open your legs."
Theresia tried to resist as much as possible but she knew it was useless.
As he leaned in and forced a kiss on her, as she struggled to pull him off her with him holding her wrists, he laid down on her pinning her down as he finally let go, she began to slap him. And tried to pull away. But he grasped her neck again and pinned her down making her grasp his hand as he reached down and pulled down his pants, to reveal his cock

The next day Theresia woke up and saw a cage on her windowsill
"Huh?" She looked over and noticed the cage and walked up to it,
"Puck your here." She said

"I…yeah Yeah I'm good, and…I'm really really happy to be here." He said
Theresia smiled so much she began to cry and wiped her eyes "oh Puck I'm so glad." She said "I need to go I'll see you later." She said as she ran out dressed towards the throne room
Puck looked out the window "…yes Theresia…I'll see…see you later." Puck said as he wore a sadistic Grin on his face.
Theresia entered the throne room and sat on the throne. She smiled as she sat down she felt squishy.
She reached below and pulled her hand away to see her hand covered in black sludge…
"What the…-" she asked herself when the door opened Theresia hid her hand behind her back as the shadowy man walked forward.
"Ah good morning Theresia. You slept in this morning, so I took the opportunity to send out the guards to search the town to Capture the Black swordsmen and kill him for us." He said
Theresia shook her head to clear her drowsy feeling, as she looked up her head felt like it was still underwater
"N…no." She said shaking her head
"No?" The shadowy man asked
Theresia grit her teeth getting angry at her lack of focus burning through it,
"I said no!" She roared as she slamed his fist on her throne,
"I want Guts here before me I want to see his face as I drain his will before me to take the thing he cares the most and see it rot before him." She said
The shadowy man stepped forward.
"My lady I feel it is unwise…" he said
"I DONT CARE!" Theresia roared as he turned to the Guard and spoke to them personally.
"I want you to go to Find Guts personally he is not to harmed, tell him I want to meet with him and…clear bridges so to speak." She said hissingly,
The guards nodded and ran off.
The shadowy man glared as the guards ran off. 'This will be a problem, however I think I have a solution' he said as he stepped forward
"My lady I think you should allow me to accompany you back to your bed." He said
Theresia looked at him like he was crazy.
"What are you talking about I-."
Once she made eye contact her body gave out as she closed her legs and held her mouth closed to prevent a moan,
"I…yes…yes I think that is needed." She panted
The shadowy man Rickin picked her up and lead her to her quarters,
From the side room Vastral watched as Rickin pulled Theresia away,
He glaired.
"I really hate him." He said
Outside Guts and the others were outside the inn,
"Guts we've checked the entire town no ones seen him," Griffith said
Guts nodded and looked up at the castle "very well, then there is only one place left he could be," he said
Griffith looked to see Guts was clutching the Summoning scroll on his fist,
"Guts your not planning to actually…" Griffith said
"Not now. Put your helmet on and gather the others, let me tell you the plan follow me." He said
As he lead them to the secret passage, "this passage way only a few people know of, I'm going through the front gate, but you should be able to use this map as well as those plans to locate Puck amd get out of there, once there set off an explosion in town to signal your away and I'll escape and we can leave." Guts said
Griffith nodded "ok I'll tell the others. And Guts." Griffith said
Guts turned to him as Griffith smiled "good luck."
Guts nodded as he spun around and made his way to the castle,
In the castle, Vastral looked into the queen's Bedchamber and watched helplessly as Theresia had sex with Rickin, Vastral griped his fists harder he heard her screams and knew she wasn't enjoying it, but he was powerless to stop it, he turned away from the door,
"Forgive me Theresia…" he said as he ran down the hall

Vastral gasped Knowing they were reaching for the door he was there
Suddenly there was a slap, "no you idiot, the boss said no one is allowed in if he's in there." The other guard said
"But how did he?" The first guard asked
"Doesn't matter you know the rules, I don't want to be used as another example." The guard said
"Yeah…guess your right…" The other guard said as the footsteps receded,
Vastral gasped "phew close one. Now let's see what's in this room that makes everyone so scaired." He said
He turned around to see a lab, as vials and flasks, burned under candles.
"Woah…" he said he looked over to see a cage that he recognized and in the middle of the Cage was Puck
"Puck!" Vastral asked
Puck lifted his head up and looked at him with a struggling thumbs up.
"Hand on!" He said as he grabbed Puck out of the cage,
In Theresia's room Rickin left with a smile, "I hope you think on this conversation well." He said as he shut the door,
Outside he spoke to the guard
"I've gotten word from the Countess that the Guards orders are no longer to capture The Black swordsman but to kill him on site, do not let him into this castle." He said
"Sir I'm sorry but he's already here." A guard said
"What!?" The Shadowy man hissed "he arrived with a summoning edict with the Countesses seal herself,
"Where is he!?" He asked
"The seal says only the countess can be told, no one else." The guards said
"Bastard!" He roared as he sent him flying,
"Damn girl…making this vendetta ruin her dream…this shouldn't have happened…unless…" he thought
He spun down the hall, "I'm not to be destrubed, find out where the. Black Swordmen is in this castle and kill him!" He roared as he stormed off.
In Theresia's room she was conscious enough to hear what Rickin said
"The…Blackswordsmen is here…" she said
She knew she should be righteously angry and have grab a sword and kill him herself. But the other part of her is…so tired…
She looked over.
"Puck…" Theresia asked
Puck flew over to the bars
"Yes Theresia?" He asked
"Tell me…is it…is it too late to forgive?" She asked
"Huh?" He asked
"I've been driven by my anger for so long I'm just. I'm tired, I want to live. And I want to love…"
"Are we talking about the Black swordsman?" Puck asked
"Guts…use his name Puck he's just a man." She said
"Still we're talking about him right?" He asked
"…yea…" Theresia said
"Then it's obvious. There is not enough anger to stop the Black swordsmen, he is something who has caused Genocide on children, burned towns down and separated families just because of his quest, he doesn't care about who he runs over, be it you…or someone else you only got the touch of the iceberg with Guts, imagining spending years around him." Puck said as he looked out the window
Theresia looked up confused
"Excuse me?" She asked
Puck turned around "huh?"
" you said you spent years around him…why are you not there now?" She asked
Puck huffed "why else? The bastard was ungrateful, broody, and never cared about anyone but himself "stay away I'm evil blah blah blah!" Puck said
Theresia narrowed her eyes and grabbed Puck from the cage,
"Hey ow! What the fuck!?" He asked
"Your not Puck, Puck doesn't swear!" She hissed
Puck laughed "hehehehehe so you figured it out eh too late though soon you will be under our control and you will give us what we need." He said
Theresia jumped back "what…what are you talking about?" She asked
Puck pointed to her crotch, "that sex you've been having is infecting you with a parasite to take over your brain, soon you won't be you but just a puppet under control of your Darkest urges," Puck said
"No! No!" Theresia said
Puck laughed

"P-Puck?" Theresia asked as she looked around she stood up and felt her legs threaten to give in, 'f-fuck, my legs can't support me.' She hissed as she forced herself to take another step.
Theresia finally reached the drawer and opened the bottom drawer, she gasped to see hundreds of dead Roses in the drawer. The one on the top still alive but barely, as she took it and clutched it hard not caring that it dug into her hands. She read the tag
"I…love you…v" she looked down
"Vastral…" she relized
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" She cried and began weeping,
"No…" Theresia said giving up…and upon doing so surrendered to the parasite. As she stood up
In the lab Vastral cleaned Puck off "there," all good," he said
Puck stood up "phew thanks buddy but, I have to ask why did you save me?" He asked
"Well. That's kinda harder to say." Vastral said as he explained his reasoning
Puck smile faltered "oh I'm sorry." He said
"The thing is I know she's trapped but I can't help her." He said
Puck nodded "yes I felt darkness in her heart, but it's not her own, but it is…it's confusing." Puck said
"It's not but it is her darkness, what do you mean?" Vastral asked
"Theresia is angry because Guts someone I travel with caused her untold damage, but that anger should have burned out a while ago. Something is keeping it alight. And that is not her own, but sometimes is warping it." Puck said
"Who?" Vastral asked
"The shadowy man." Puck said
Suddenly the door to the lab opened. As Vastral and Puck Braced for the shadowy man to walk in…
Guts is sitting in the main hall, waiting, as he looked at his dagger when the door opened,
Guts looked up to see Theresia stepping forward.
"Black swordsmen…" Theresia said drowsy.
Guts looked back at her,
"I've waited a long time for this." She said as she stepped forward with a dagger in her hand,
"Finally I will avenge my father!" She roared as he lunged at him.
Guts grit his teeth as he pulled his metal arm up to block the attack and was about to punch her back when the shadowy man appeared next to him and grappled him,
Guts kicked with his legs sending her back hitting her hard enough to make her bleed as she clutched her head, as Guts threw the shadowy man away he stepped towards Theresia who despite the blood pooling on her face the intent to kill was clear.
"Dang your going all out kid. I'm impressed. Now don't make me feel back about killing you." Guts snarled as he drew Dragonslayer.
Suddenly the door opened and Puck, Vastral, and the others, entered
"GUT'S DONT KILL HER!" They called
Rickin spun around "damn brats!" He hissed only to be shot by Ruby with her sniper. Allowing Theresia to break control of the grasp
"Huh…where am I?" She asked as she looked to see Guts standing over her, clearly angry.
Guts looked over to them as Puck flew over
"Guts wait, She was being controlled by the Other guy focus on him." He said
Guts snarled the idea of hurting a child was despicable, but using a child to get to him against there will because of her desire that was worst.
"Got it." He said as he strode forward.
"Everyone…leave…" Guts said
Everyone was shocked
"But…Guts…" Ruby said
"Take…Theresia and go Now…" Guts said.
The others gasped as they recognized that look in his eyes.
Ruby blurred forward and picked up Theresia, "come on let's go." She said as she lifted Theresia up and started to carry her away
"Don't think you can escape me!" The shadowy man roared,
As a massive tentacle went to fall on them,
Only for it to be cut in half, by Guts, who was looking more and more monstely,

Ruby and Theresia reached the others and looked back
Theresia looked to see Vastral
"Vastral?" Theresia asked
"Theresia?" He asked her
The two smiled before they were forced to look away and back at the action. Vastral Was disappointed and unseen by him Theresia was holding his Rose in her pocket,
Guts looked over and smiled at the clear monster in front of him.
"Good…now I can end you!" He roared as he charged
The shadowy man was unable to block the attacks as Guts moved faster and faster, cleaving away at everything.
Sherkie and the others were tense, they had never seen Guts fight like this. And he didn't seem like stopping,
Guts jumped away as the shadow man slammed his arm into the ground cracking it, as Guts was in the air and Slammed his sword down on the man
"Ha Ha ha you won't Win YOU WON'T WIN!" The shadowy man roared as he held a Beherit
Guts gasped "No!" He said
He looked at the Egg and saw it crying blood.
Suddenly the walls started to close in and Stairs started to form. Amd standing before them was…the God hand
Void, Ubik, Slant, and Conrad.
Guts growled.
"The Godhand hear me now is the time for us to strike! Strike against our enemy!" The shadowy man said
The godhand looked at him as if he was nothing.
"Who are you to declare us at your wilms…" Slant, said
"I…but I am the emissary! the voice of the idea of evil! you're bound to obey me!" He said
Suddenly Void shrunk down and reappeared before him.
"And we cannot take orders until our leader is back." Void said
"But…but he's right there." The shadowy man said pointing to Griffith,
The Godhand looked over to him
"So….you've done the impossible…did you really hate us that much?" Void asked as he turned to Griffith
"We gave you the chance to fulfill your dream, and you squander it for this?" Void asked
"I wanted my friends! And you took that choice away!" Griffith said as he drew his sword
"I Griffith the White Hawk! I WANT MY CHOICE BACK!" He yelled
The godhand chuckled
"Cute…" Conrad said as he turned to the shadowy man
"You know we cannot do anything until a sacrifice is made, Name yours…" void said
"I…I sacrifice Theresia!" He said
"YOU FUCKER!" She screamed at Rickin as she was held back by Vastral
"Very well your sacrifice is accepted!" Void said as a unknown force pulled her forward before the godhand she screamed
"THERESIA!" Vastral screamed
Guts snapped a looked back to see Theresia in the middle of the room her head lowered down weeping her hands before her, clearly in shock.
The brand appered in the air in Voids hand
"The invocation of Doom is now unstoppable…Say goodby-." Void was cut off by Guts cutting off the head of Rickin as his head rolled to land before Theresia, she stared down in shock as the head of her "lover" looking back up at her, she didn't move,
the Godhand stood frozen, shocked, in awe,
Void lowered his hand the brand disappearing as he spoke angrily
"You had no right to interfere." He said
Guts shouldered the Dragonslayer
"Oh but I did. Just to stop you fuckers." Guts said as he got ready to lunge,
"Guts wait." Griffith said
Guts turned around "huh…Griffith?"
"Spare them." He said
Guts was confused
"But…" he said
"I need them to send a message." Griffith said
He took off his helmet, "tell my…doppelgänger I'm coming for him, and When I kill him I will assume the throne I was destined to obtain! And my first act with my newfound powers will be to ensure you have no power in this realm over its people. Now and forevermore!" Griffith boomed
The entire plane shook in his proclamation as the Godhand looked shocked
"It appears the Idea of evil has accepted your challenge. But make no mistake we will not make it easy on you." Void said
"I'll be ready for whatever comes. And I will have my body back." Griffith said as he strode away,
"I hope you tell him…the Black Hawks Days are numbered…" Griffith said as he put his helmet back on and walked away.
The plane vanished back into the Throne room as the behelit came to a stand still.
Theresia fell to her knees and weeped into her hands
Ruby went to try to step towards her to comfort her but Puck stopped her,
He shook his head knowing from experience she would just push her away
Guts however stepped forward his shadow towering over her,
Theresia looked up at him and tried to compose herself.
"L-let me guess, your going to say I'm helpless at love and I should kill my self like you did last time huh?" She said looking down defeated before swatting the head of Rickin down below,
Everyone behind him say for Puck Gasped
Yang was astounded by that action and called him out
"GUTS!" Puck shook his head trying to calm down Yang but she was obliviously on a role. As she spun around silent clenching her fists, as Casca, and Griffith watched her walk away.
Guts however shook his head and bent down wiping her tears away
"Those actions that day…was taken from an angry man, hellbent to wreak havoc. Not caring about who got caught in the way…if you remember despite that I also did save you…" he said as he touched the scar on her hands where she grabbed Dragonslayer last time,
Theresia sniffled and nodded
"T-that's the one thing that had me confused for so long… `Why would you save me after what you said before, eventually I got it in my head it was just a way to taunt me. That I didn't have enough courage to fully do it myself."
This time Blake was the one who growled, getting the questionable choices of the morally Grey Guts, she to spun after Yang, this time yanking off the arm from Casca as she tried to reassure her, as Blake glaring at her, with an obvious message
'This is the Guy you love? How could you love such a monster…'
Casca lowered her arm as she looked to Griffith for guidance but he also looked dejected, knowing it was him that pushed Guts over the edge.
Guts sat down and sighed, as he drew his knife and inspected the edge
"…did you know I was going to be a father?" He said as he looked down the blade he heard a gasp from everyone present,
"They'd probably be about your age by now…" he said
He grabbed her dress thinking Guts was going to cut apart the dress Farness tried to stop him but she was too slow as he cut a Strip out of it and started to tie it around her head to stop the bleeding,
"W…what happened then…" she asked
Casca and Griffith looked down almost ashamed, Farness hugged Casca as Griffith looked even more guilty,
Guts stayed silent and focused on his work as Theresia dropped the question.
"Then…if you felt like that…w-why would you say that?" She asked
Guts paused before he continued
"You know why…" he said as he finished and pulled away as Theresia touched the bandage and sighed "the Godhand…" she said
Guts nodded as he stood up "I'm not the man I was back then, I was hurting, alone, and taking on the world, I planned to die a spec in the world history wouldn't even make a note of me, but now I have my friends, it's time to come clear to what I truly am, I won't lie I am a monster, and I consider myself as bad as those I face, I'd say the best fate that could happen to me is the day my quest finally ends. Someone will come up behind me and lob my head off…" he said
Ruby and Casca were horrified at that, as Griffith looked up at Guts with determination,
Guts looked back at them with a smile. "But even then I have to say, I don't want that to happen…I have too much to live for." He said he looked back at her
"You can still hate me, I did kill your father, seeing him as what he was makes me regret killing him even more, because when it mattered, when he put his life on the line, he'd do what I would have done. He crouched down and put his hand on her shoulder,
"He saved…you." Guts said as he stood up
"…We'll be gone by sundown. If that's what you wish, and this will be the last time we see each other…" he said as he started to step away.
Only to feel a weight holding him down and as he looked to see a hand wrapped around his waist.
Theresia was hugging him
Guts let a glimpse of a smile touch his face,
"Stay." She said
Guts turned around.
"You're now considered a guest of high honors in this castle, and if you ever need a place to hold up our doors are always open." She said as she looked at Griffith and smiled.
"We will have a ball tonight for your send off, nothing big as one from the Hundred Years' War, unfortunately, but it's for you." She said
Guts smiled looking up to everyone Griffith smiled and nodded
Guts did the same. And accepted Theresia offer,
"We will have all guards stationed at the Cemetery and the City entrances." She said
"As you wish madam…" Vastral nodded
"Wait Captain." Theresia said
Vastral stopped and looked back
"Tell me who is the Number two of your Guard?" She asked
"Umm that would be…Commander Xanthieth Madam." He said confused
"Tell me…do they have your Personal recommendations that they are a capable leader?" She asked
Vastral looked confused
"I umm…yes yes they do but I don't have any idea of stepping down any time soon if that's what your…" he started to say after steeling himself trying to not make a fool of himself in front of Theresia
Theresia pulled the Rose she found from the drawer it's Head was snapped as she fell on it, but it was still a vibrant red,
Theresia looked up and meekly and met Vastral shocked eyes.
And in a flash he stood before her and enveloped her mouth in a lovely kiss,
Guts stepped towards the party as they broke off,
"You are aware this will require you to step down from the Royal Guards position right?" She asked Vastral cupped her face
"Theresia, I took that position in the interests of protecting you. There is no greater honor than standing by your side." He said
Theresia giggled and looked up "corny…but cute…" she said as she cupped his face.
"Then we have another reason to celebrate." Guts said as everyone looked back confused
"The celebration of a happy bonding of Countess Theresia and eventual Count Vastral." Guts said
Theresia smiled, as Guts stepped forward
"Even if he's not here physically to say it…I know your father would be proud of you." Guts said
"Who's to say he's not…" a voice said
Guts and Theresia spun around to see the count as a ghost as the Sun in the window had vanished
Guts growled and stepped in front of Theresia protectively hand on Dragonslayer.
The count held his hand up "please…" he said
Guts paused as the count lowered his hand
"It's…taking considerable power to appear beyond the abyss…I mean you no harm… although other entities may not…" he said as he looked at his daughter
"The black swordsman is right, I am proud of you, very much so. You have become a far better ruler than I. And I am glad your who you have become, smile my little Theresia, your heart is strong, and your love is free." The ghost said as he faded away,
Theresia looked shocked before looking down
"Father…" she said
Guts started to walk away, "we should go. It's already dark out, and the ghosts will be out, we've got hunting to do." He said
Everyone present nodded.
However Vastral stepped forward "the City guards will deal with it for the night…you get some sleep… tomorrow we will have the ball." He said
Guts and the others nodded and left the room
They met Blake and Yang talking outside
"Honestly the more I follow him the less I feel like he deserves to have the right to call us friends…" Yang said, looking down.
"Y-Yang?" Ruby asked
Yang looked up to see Ruby looking guiltily
"W-what were you talking about?" She asked
Yang stood up her face covered by her hair
Yang and Blake looked up to see Ruby and Weiss as well as everyone else, looking at them.
Yang and Blake was just focused on Guts,
"You!" Yang said, storming up to him, "Is what she said true? Back in the chamber? Did you really say such things to her, after you finished killing her father?" She asked
Ruby was appalled "Yang! What the fuck does that have to do with anything!?" She yelled
Yang looked down her hair covering her face again "Nothing Ruby…just needed a quick talk with Blake where are we going?" She asked
Guts looked at her questioning but remained silent.
"We're staying here. The countess has chosen to throw us a ball before we leave." Guts said
Yang scoffed, rolling her eyes "wonderful…just great…I'm off to bed." Yang said as she walked past Guts bumping into him purposefully but avoiding everyone else Blake did the same but also left with a Glare at Guts.
Isidro blinked before he announced "I don't think they like you that much."
Everyone looked at him with a look of 'gee you think?'
Guts sighed "come on let's get to bed ourselves,"
They Made there way back to the Inn and went to sleep, it was surprisingly some of the best the sleep they had.
The next day tensions were still high in the group, Ruby tried to talk to the two of them but they brushed off there leader, and went about there day,
Which needless to say was a shopping trip for the upcoming ball,
The women were all together, as they and the men went to separate parts to get there tailoring done, even then the party was divided
Ruby and Weiss walked with Casca and Sherkie, while Blake and Yang walked with Farnese, with her only being there not because she agreed with them on Guts, but only so they would know the group still liked them, she looked back and was glad to see Sherkie smiling at her, knowing she understood her reasons
Farnses smiled and looked down while she turned back to hear Yang and Blake discussing Guts,
Farnese tried to dissuade the conversation away from their rant about Guts, but the ladies were unimpressed. Leaving Farnese deflated. As Sherkie put a hand on her shoulder,
"It's ok…you some people just need time." She said
"Yea I know but…" Farnese said as she looked over to see Ruby talking to Weiss,
"I just don't know what happened to them." She said.
Weiss put a hand on her shoulder "your sister will come around in time." She said
Ruby looked up and nodded "yeah…" she said
The shopping went well as everyone got a dresses for the ball. As the ball began,
Yang and Blake entered with everyone and looked around at the amount of people that were attending,
"Wow…I never thought I'd see a ball that was bigger than beacon." Yang said
Blake nodded "I hear ya." She said
Griffith stepped up next to them
"This is indeed a good ball, but all these members are minor nobles of Midland, being of a lower class than that of the real nobles they will be far pickier about decorum." Griffith said to himself but unfortunately he was close enough that Yang and Blake hear him, and looked at him disappointed,
"Wow…way to be such a killjoy…" Yang said as they walked off,
Griffith looked confused as they walked off,
Griffith looked at Isidro who was adjusting his collar only for Sherkie to adjust it back when she sees it,
"Was it something I said?"
Isidro shrugged before he turned to sherkie "aw jeez knock it off Women." He said
"Fine, look like a monkey for all I care." Sherkie said as she spun away
She bumped right into Casca. Who was on Guts arm, looking drop dead gorgeous.
"O…oh Casca…you look wonderful!"
Casca chuckled as she looked at her Dress "really? you think so? I'm honestly surprised it fits me, from back at the end of the War." She said
Guts smiled "you look beautiful…" he said
Casca put a hand on his cheek as they walked on the floor, and walked over to Griffith,
"Are you ready for your reappearance?" Guts asked him
Griffith nodded,
As they stepped into the light of the ballroom.
The reaction was instantaneous as nobles looked all over and started to whisper,
"Is that Sir Griffith?"
"I thought he was at the capital?" Another said
"What's he doing here?" A final one said
Yang and Blake looked over appalled at how much attention Griffith was getting Yang who was holding a glass clutched the stem a bit harder,
Blake gripped her arm as Yang looked over to her and loosened her grip.
Weiss and Ruby stepped in and looked around,
"Stunning hall." Ruby commented
"This beats every venue I've ever attended in Atlas." Weiss said in awe,
"Look at that chandelier." Ruby said
Weiss smiled "at least your not pointing like a buffoon." Weiss said
Ruby smiled "nah that's Isidro's job." She said
As they looked Over to him and sure enough he was walking up all swagger up to a group of ladies and trying to flirt with them. Who looked very uninterested and left leaving him hanging, and land on his face, as Serpico looked at him disappointed
Puck landed on his head and sighed "clearly you have not listened to my teachings…"
Suddenly a shadow covered the both of them as they looked up to see Theresia who giggled.
"Don't worry about them, they were all star struck by Griffith's entrance." She said as she helped Isidro up and brush his attire clean of dust.
Puck flew over to her "you look stunning Theresia." He said
She smiled "Thank you, Puck, these are rare times I actually get to interact with my subjects so I take as much as I can get, honestly I rule this country not because I like the power, but because I want to see them succeed seeing there happy lives makes me understand how well they are doing." She said
"Well said…" Griffith said as he stepped forward towards her,
"I believe such a method of ruling will change the world. Of course, there are many people that are in power who don't deserve it,as they use it to fuel their own base desires." Griffith said
Theresia smiled. And looked around to hear more chatter among the guests
"Looks like I was noticed I better speak now we will catch up later Sir Griffith." She said as she walked away.
Griffith and everyone turned as a ring was heard to see Theresia tapping a glass.
"Everyone…everyone can I have your attention!" She called
To those words the hall was silent.
"Thank you… for years I have been your countess after the death of my tyrant of my father. I have survived exile. Assassination, and multiple Coops people closest to me believing they would be a better ruler in my sted, she said
Everyone looked at each other it was an unspoken rule and unbeknownst to everyone else Theresia knew that everyone here had a hand In at least one of the previous spoke of threats of the countess.
"I understand your fear. After the tyrant my father was in his waning years it's not hard to understand that I his blood might not be so far off. It has taken myself many years but eventually I believe I have won you over." She said
Everyone muttered before a universal nod echoed the hall.
"Good…then allow me to put down yet another fear of yours…I am not my father…" she said
There was a bit of confusion at the declaration but Theresia countuned. She raised her hand to quiet them
"Let me explain… before you stands The nigh mythical Black swordsmen himself." She said
Everyone turned to look at Guts muttering about him as Casca elbowed him teasingly with a smile
"So much for laying low…" he muttered.
Theresia spoke up
"Now let this be stated only once. The Black swordsman is the one who killed my father."
There was a gasp by the nobles
"what!?"
"Why is he here?!"
"Shouldn't you have him Executed?!"
Theresia raised her hand again.
"While yes recently I have been obsessed with delivering him to Justice…it was just a few days ago that I learned the truth of his actions and have as such forgiven him. This ball is just as much about him. As it is about all those that have been lost." She said as she lowered her head
The hall in General also lowered their heads in a moment of silence.
Theresia looked up and smiled
"However this is not the only reason and this is more cause to celebrate." She said which piqued the nobles interests
"While it is true, in recent weeks I have been rather…callous to my subjects. This is due to outside interference. Which The Blackswordsmen here helped clear out for me a part of which is why I'm indebted to him. During such events my advisor betrayed me and planned to sacrifice me to a demonic ritual." Theresia said
The hall gasped
Yang grit her teeth "look at them there just being led along by what she says…" Yang muttered
Blake looked over at Yang "but it is the truth Yang." She said
Yang just looked up "just watch…" she said
Theresia looked down at the hall.
"Guts was the one who saved my life then. And which I then found myself without a lover…" she said
"So your single?" Yang shouted as a tease
Blake looked over to see an actual grin on her face sometime she missed for a long time.
Theresia shook her head "sadly no."
The entire hall awww'ed at that which made Yang crack up
"I've found my new lover, this ball is a celebration of our eventual wed. And his raising to the status of Count.
Introducting. Your future Count Vastral." Theresia said
As the door opens and reveals Vastral looking all dressed up as the nobles clapped
Griffith leaned to Guts and Casca.
"There only doing this because I'm in the room after all everyone knows my story." He said sounding almost bitter.
"We'll change their minds eventually Griffith." Guts said
Theresia spoke again "I thank you all for coming to this ball please enjoy the floor and food." She said as she looked over to the local band she was able to hire and began to play dancing music. As the countess climbed down the steps hand in hand with there new count.
Yang scoffed bitterly at this "this place is a farce. I'm going to get some air." She said as she slammed her glass back and placed it on a passing waiter
"I'm going to get some air." She said as she walked away.
Blake watched her go as she stood on the balcony.
She looked back to see Ruby and Weiss Dancing as was Guts and Casca and Griffith was talking with some minor nobles.
Blake decided to follow Yang.
Yang stepped out onto the balcony and growled "fucking hell Guts having to steal the thunder." She said as she put her hands on the railing looking out into the courtyard.
"Hehehehe resentment…" a voice said above her
Yang spun around ready to fight
"Who's there, show yourself?!" She said
A mask appeared out of the shadows
"Pain…hatred… sorrow…I can make all these things end for you." He said
Yang clenched her fist ready to strike
The creature lunged
Yang stepped forward to throw a punch but the creature sidestepped and taped Yang on the forehead trying to enter but her Aura stopped it
Yang jumped back "what the fuck are you trying to do?" She asked
The creature twitched his fingers "interesting you've got a Devine like power protecting you…however all things can be broken."
Yang looked horrified and looked to the door she made a dash for it just as the creature lunged
Yang rolled away as it flew over the edge of the railing and Yang was about to reach the door to run in
However a tendril grabbed her wrist
"Oh no don't be afraid." The creature said
Yang tried to pull away but it was too strong there was a hissing as she felt a pain in her wrist and looked down to see her Aura burning. The creature was eating away at her aura
"W-what are you?" She asked as she tried to use her other arm to pull it away only for that one to be bound too
"Ugh get off of me!" Yang said as she tried to pull away.
"Let go…I can give the Justice you seek to those who hurt you…" the creature said
"N-no!" Yang said as she slammed her head forward hitting the mask making it pull away with a grunt "Argh!"
Yang looked up cheerful she actually hit it but as the creature looked up there was a crack around the eye and it looked more pissed off than ever.
Yang flicked her wrist and she relized she was without her weapon
'Shit there in the room.' She thought. As she once again made a rush for the door
However the creature grabbed her leg and pulled her into the shadows…
Blake stepped out onto the balcony and looked around to see it empty
"Yang?" She looked around
"Oh…hello…kitty." Yang said slowly
Blake spun around to see Yang sitting on a bench in the Shadows
"What are you doing there?" She asked
"I got a bit lightheaded and came to sit down." She said more normally.
"And you couldn't do that from inside?" Blake asked
"Too far away…" Yang said
Blake sighed
"We'll come on there serving food and Ruby is worried about you." She said
"Aww you don't want to spend any time with me?" Yang asked
"Yang I…what?" Blake asked
Yang patted the Bench
"Come on, it's just us." She said
Blake looked back inside and sighed "fine…but only for a minute." She said as she sat down next to her
They sat in silence for a bit "I have to admit the starts are lovely here…" Blake said
"Just as much as you are." Yang said
Blake looked over confused "what?" She stood up
"Yang are you ok? You don't sound yourself." She said
"I'm fine… it's just…probably the alcohol." She played it off.
Blake nodded "yeah…probably." She said as she sat back down next to her.
"Hey Yang?" Blake asked after a minute.
"Yeah?" Yang said
"Did you mean that?" Blake asked
"Every word of it." She said
Blake smiled and wiped a tear from her eyes "thank you." She said as she leaned closer to rest on Yang's shoulder.
Blake felt Yang trembling and looked up "Yang are you ok your shaking?" She asked
"I'm fine I'm just a bit cold." She said
Blake was unnerved Yangs semblance is fire and she has really good control of it. She never needed a heavy jacket in Atlas and the weather her is twice as hot as that.
"What does Ah!" Blake gasped as she fell off her shoulder and onto her lap "Yang what the-?" She asked only to be pinned by her arm
"Oh just relax Blake it was a joke. I've wanted to spend more time with you." She said
Blake gasped as she felt Yangs full Black breaking pressure on her
"Y-Yang your hurting me…" she gasped
Yang didn't let up for the longest time but eventually she did, however Blake remained on Yangs lap.
Blake snuggled up "this is very comfortable." She said
She felt wet on her cheek and looked up to see Yang crying Blake stood up alert
"Yang what's…what's wrong." She asked
"I…I just…oh Blake…" Yang said
Blake heard a faint 'help' through her fanuas hearing but it was so subtle she thought it was something else
"Say that again?" Blake asks
"Would you…kiss me?" Yang asked
Blake smiled and leaned in
Only for Yang to latch onto her neck
"Ugh Stop it! Yang let go!" Blake cried
"Yang Yang!" She gasped as she looked up to see a tendril stick out of her mouth
Blake doubled her efforts to escape but Yang wasn't letting go.
"Yang! No stop what are you doing no! Mnnnnmmm!" There lips connected as Blake pulled Yang into the light to see her tears streaking across her face and her hands clenched
Blake let out a burst of Aura and a loud shreak was heard as the tendril turned into ash in there mouthed and the Gast that flew into Yang burst out from behind and vanished
Yang and Blake pushed away from each other and coughed up the ashes in their throat
"What…the fuck…was that?" Blake asked
Yang shook her head as she threw up a bit to get the shit out of her "I…I don't know…the fucker…jumped me while I was out here." She panted
"What was it doing to you?" Blake asked
Yang shivered and pulled her legs to her chest.
"It broke my aura and fucking possessed me. I felt trapped In my own mind. Giving away any restraint I have. And feeding on my desire's." Yang said
Blake looked appalled at her "Wait…all of them?" She said
Yang looked down "y-Yeah… Listen… Blake I… I've never felt this way about you like I have to anyone else. I don't know what to say but Mmnnn." Yang was cut off by Blake locking lips with Yang.
Blake pulled back, "Yang…never leave me." She said
Yang smiled "never,"
Suddenly past them the door opened and Weiss and Ruby were talking "Ruby I'm sure they're fine." Weiss said
"I know Weiss but she's missing the party and I'm honestly just worried about her, she's never gone this long without telling me I just-oh Yang…and Blake…oh! Umm we'll be back inside." Ruby said immediately getting the situation and grabbing Weiss and pulling her inside.
Blake and Yang looked at the space just recently occupied
"Well that was…awkward…" Blake said
Yang pushed off her knees and stood up
"Yea, come on let's head inside." Yang said
Blake nodded as Yang walked in there was a rustle in the air, and on the trace on the wind she heard a voice
'You cannot stop your fate…'
Blake looked back over her shoulder as she headed into the Ballroom
