Rwby: A Gutsy world

Note this is a chapter I wanted to add to my other Berserk fan fiction but I relized it wouldn't fit so I had to change it. So I added it here. Enjoy.

Chapter 28
The next day After the Ball, The gang, we're Lead out by Countess Theresia and select guards,
"Good luck to all of you, we will be rooting for you all," she said
Guts and everyone waved as they headed off to the city edge,
"It is good that we have gotten as least some aid," Griffith said
"Yeah, although are you sure it's a good idea to broadcast your actual name now?" Weiss asked
Griffith shrugged "the Godhand were going to figure it out soon enough anyways, so it doesn't matter," Griffith said as he wore an outfit more notable of the Hundred Years' War.
"They spent about two weeks on the road and they sat down the night for the camp
Guts looked around over his shoulder, "this seems like a good spot as any." Guts said
Puck nodded "I'll go and make sure." He said flying off,
Illivara shook her head "I guess I'll make sure he's not an idiot." As she flew after him.
Guts sat down and felt his neck, and looked down at his hand
Blood,
He was on guard but he noticed something, the brand didn't actually hurt like before, but it bled as if a demon was nearby, strange,
Ruby looked to see her Boyfirend on edge, "Guts?" She asked
Casca touched her chest where her brand was and looked to Guts
"You too huh?" Guts asked her
Casca nodded
"What is it?" Blake asked
Guts leaned in, "trouble if it is to be believed." He said
Just then Puck came back. "There are no graveyards or battlefields anywhere nearby, I can't even feel a dead body anywhere." He said
Everyone looked at Puck and Illivara as if they had 3 heads, Puck was confused "umm what is it?" He asked
"That's not possible…" Guts said standing up
"But it is I was right there with him the entire time, if you can't trust this idiot trust me, there are no spirits nearby." Illivara said
Guts sighed "then that means one thing," he said as he drew Dragonslayer
"Which of you is hiding something!" Guts yelled. As he pointed his sword at the rest of the party,
Every jumped up as if Guts was insane,
"Woah Guts!" Yang said
"Hey why are you blaming us!?" Blake asked as she started to Step away into the shadows
She heard the drawing of another sword and Saw Casca Holding her blade to her neck,
"Not another step or else I'll slit your throat." Casca said
"Blake!" Yang yelled
"You forget I'm branded too Yang," Casca said she looked up to Guts
"It's her!" She said
"What the-." Weiss said
"What do you mean?" Ruby asked and also the only one who hadn't drawn her weapon,
"I can feel my brand going off in her presence." She said as she pressed the tip of the blade over to her neck, and said "if you truely are a Blake only tell me something we would know." Casca said
"YOUR CRAZY!" Yang called
Blake tried to break away and turned towards her "we've rarely ever talked how am I supposed to convince you if I barely know you." Blake said
Casca smiled "you'll find a way," she said
Blake paused unable to come up with an answer,
Everyone froze as she said nothing,
"I…I…" Blake said as she lowered her head
Yang looked crushed "B-Blake?"
Suddenly there was a screech in the forest
"What the hell was that?" Isidro asked
"Sounds like someone is in trouble." Griffith said
"Let's go!" Ruby said
"Wait…" Casca said as she looked at Griffith and tossed him Blake's weapon
"Watch over her," she said
Griffith nodded as Casca, Guts, Yang, Ruby, Weiss, Sherkie, Farnese, Serpico, Isidro ran off, to the forest,
On the way there they stumbled into a village, and were shocked as it looked abandoned
"What the-!?" Isidro asked
Guts looked to Puck, and they both looked at an already burned building, a farmhouse, a familiar one,
"What is it with us and stumbling across old memories." Guts said
Puck looked over "I'll go and confirm if it is or not. I'll be right back." He said as he flew, off.
Guts looked over to see everyone with their weapons ready,
"What's the plan Ruby?" Weiss asked
"Search for survivors," She said
Everyone fanned out which ironically led to it being Weiss and Ruby, Guts and Casca and Farnese, and Sherkie and Yang, in different groups. With Isidro and Serpico as another
(Guts, Farnese & Casca )
Guts looked into the house with the door ajared and saw no one
Casca came around the bend of another.
"I've got nothing." Casca said shaking her head
Guts nodded as he looked over down the road.
"So Blake you say." Guts said As Casca went to stand next to him
"It's her or Yang, I'm not sure they were both close enough to me to activate the brand." Casca said
"What makes you so sure it's them…it could be anyone honestly. And I've gotten no evil sense when I look at them." Farnese
"That just means the Demon's is powerful, but if I must be honest it's more of a…gut instinct it's one of them which is more fearful because if so it might be too late." Guts sighed looking down sadly
"Guts, you're not…actually thinking of killing them are you?" Casca asked
Guts snapped his head up "what no!" He sighed "I'm hoping we can find out what processed them and possibly have Sherkie and or Farnese make a spell that will extort them and protect them from next time." He said
Casca sighed "ok that makes me feel better, you have to admit though you definitely didn't give any benefit of a doubt, back there," Casca said
Guts sighed "I had to, if the monster knew what was planned it would fight harder to maintain its grasp on the girls and we might lose them forever." Guts said
Casca paused as Guts kept walking she was heartwarmed, while she didn't remember it she had heard what guts was like after the Eclipse, it was nice to know he had his family again,
Unknown to her a shadow shape on the rooftop watching them before it vanished.
Guts kept walking and turned the Corner and flew straight into Puck,
"Well?" He asked
Puck just nodded his head sadly. Guts looked up to the sky "come on we need to keep looking." He said
(Ruby & Weiss.)
Ruby and Weiss opened and checked houses quickly clearing the houses within minutes to no avail,
"Looks like there is no one here." Weiss said
"Yeah…" Ruby said as she lowered her flashlight
"Ruby?" Weiss asked stepping forward
"It's just that…well…I've never seen Guts act like that before, even back at Beacon he's never done that." Ruby said
"Yeah…he looked ready to Kill, Blake, or Yang, or…well any of us." Weiss said
Ruby shook her head eyes shut full of denial.
Weiss stepped forward and put her hand on her leaders shoulder "remember Ruby Guts is wearing the real Berserker Armor, we really should consider him a loose cannon now…" She said
Ruby spun around knocking the hand away. "But that's not Guts. That's just not the man I fell in love with." Ruby said insistent,
Weiss stepped back shocked, before looking down guiltily, "Ruby…I…" she sighed "look sometimes…people change, you can't help it. but it just happens." She said
Ruby looked at Weiss shocked before she steeled her face infront of Weiss and turned towards the door,
"Come on let's keep going." She said as she walked out.
Weiss was stunned by her reaction as she chased after her,
(Yang and Sherkie)
Yang and Sherkie were checking houses, well more like Yang was kicking in doors as Sherkie was meditating.
"Hello?" She asked after not getting a response she flopped down next to the witch
"No one is here." She said
"There is a large pool of Od nearby. To large to be an individual caster, a group perhaps?" Sherkie said opening her eyes confused.
"Shall we check it out?" Yang asked
"Yeah just give me a moment." Sherkie said as she let out a silent prayer and a self protection spell. Before she picked up her staff and walked up to Yang, "let's go," she said
Yang smiled, as the two walked away from the town
As they got to the towns edge Yang started to speak, "I can't believe Guts thought about killing Blake." She said
"No he wasn't thinking of killing her." Sherkie defended him
Yang looked at her, "are you kidding me? did you see the look in his eyes?" She asked
"Guts is always determined." Sherkie said
Yang sighed and they kept walking in silence.
(Blake)
Blake and Griffith sat by the fire alone, Griffith looked at her, as Blake kept looking at the fire herself
"I'm not a demon." She said
Griffith leaned forward and spoke softly, but with a smile. "No one is saying you are." He said
"Then I'm not…-whatever you think I am! I have no malicious intent towards the party." Blake said as she stood up and crossed her arms
"Then tell us where you were last night at the Party?" Griffith asked his voice harder
Blake looked over questioningly.
"What does that have to do with it?" She asked
"You and Yang left the ballroom and we're gone for nearly an hour and we're not found until Ruby and Weiss searched for you, plenty of time to be attacked by a demon, that's why we're the most suspicious of the two of you." Griffith said
"But I can't I didn't…Yang." Blake said in realization.
"What?" Griffith asked
Blake stood up "it's Yang! It's not me, when I went out last night I was looking for Yang, and I found her in the shadow of the building, crying, I noticed her faintly say help." Blake started to pace, "I wanted to think I was going crazy but she was calling out to me, she needed by help." Blake said
Griffith leaned in focused "what happened after that." He asked
"We…um we might have gotten slightly intimate a bit forceful, but I noticed as she tried to kiss me this mutant slug thing was coming out of her mouth, and into mine, a flared by aura and it turned into Ash in our mouths, I also heard a distinctive scream and something fly away from the corner of my eye, I thought it was gone," Blake said
Griffith stood up "sometimes a possessed Demon leaves something behind if it leaves a host early to allow something else to process it easier or if they are unlucky the exact demon itself." Griffith said as he kicked Blake Gambol Shroud.
Blake looked down at her weapon shocked as Griffith stood up
"We have to find her, now." He said
Blake slid her weapon on her back and nodded and ran off into the forest towards the town.
(Yang and Sherkie)
Yang sighed "I just…I don't think it's Blake." She said as the two girls kept walking,
"You know I don't think so either." Sherkie said as she came to a stop. At the edge of the town
"Not after you've led me right here." She said as she slammed her staff on the ground.
Yang spun around.
"Oh?" She asked her eyes a glowing red
"Was I really that obvious now?" The Yang asked
Sherkie shook her head "it was confusing with the Od of the town you probably would have been able to hide indefinitely in here, but once you left the town I knew for a fact, next trick using the towns folk to hide yourself, Of course I had my suspicions long ago." Sherkie said
Yang laughed "Ha I must admit I can't get credit for the townsfolk but who ever it is has my respect, besides suspicions won't save you now girl! Soon you will be my next plaything, an even stronger body than this one!" Yang said as she lunged
Only to run headfirst into a barrier knocking her on her ass as Yang rubbed her head. Sherkie looked down at her a deadly glare on her face
"Like I said I had my suspicions." She said as she slammed her stick down on the grass,
"Yang if you can hear me keep fighting!" Sherkie said
Yang snarled "Your friend is dead there is no way to get her back unless you- huh?" Yang looked down to see the grass wrapped around her arms and legs pinning her down keeping her moving.
Yang looked up to see Sherkie chanting, she was trying to vanquish the Demon.
Yang growled and tried to thrash around,
Sherkie pulled her face tighter trying to concentrate over the noise Yang was making,
Yang growled and pulled at the bonds, and soon enough the Dirt below started to give way, as Yang slung her arm forward and smacked Sherkie in the face with the dirt flying past the barrier and cutting off her concentration, she fell to the ground
Sherkie looked up dazed and tried to reach for her staff, but Yang got to her first, and knocked her out.
"Yang?" Blake said Yang looked up
"Blake…" Yang said
Blake ran up to her and looked at Sherkie "what happened?" She asked
"I..,I don't know. One minute we were walking together the next I was ahead of her and I looked back she fell over." Yang said
Blake stood up "come on let's get her out of here." Blake said
"Ok Blakey~." Yang said
Blake looked back at Yang one thought ran through her mind
'Remember this is not the Yang you knew,' before it shifted to a new thought
'Hang in there Yang I'm coming,'
"You know you think quiet loudly." Yang said with a glare,
"Well…better than nothing." Blake said as she drew Gambol Shroud.
(Guts, Puck, Casca and Farnese.)
The three were walking down street Guts filling in Casca about the events of what happened here the last time he was here and about Jill and the moth Apostles,
"Poor girl." Casca said
Guts nodded and kept walking, as he looked down and noticed his shadow was too long
Guts snapped around and looked to see the stalker on the rooftop fleeing
Guts grit his teeth and ran after them
"Guts!" Casca called
"Get back to the campsite!" He yelled as he ran down the road as fast as he could.
Casca was confused "the campsite…what's there?" She asked
Puck shook his head "I don't know but clearly something let's go." He said
Casca nodded and followed the elf,
Ruby and Weiss were checking another house, when the roof above them shifted causing Weiss and Ruby to get on edge,
"What was that?" Weiss asked looking to Ruby
Suddenly Weiss and Ruby watched as Guts ran past the window,
"Was that Guts?" Weiss asked
"I think so, let's follow him." Ruby said
"You go he's too fast for me but your semblance can keep up with him, I'll keep searching the town," Weiss said
Ruby nodded and vanished.
(Guts)
Guts ran down the road as the person jumped from roof to roof, he growled and ran faster, catching up to her.
Guts looked up to her as he grit his teeth
"Where's Jill!?" He asked
The person looked at Guts through their helmet stunned clearly the name meant something, unfortunately this caused them to slip and Miss the wooden beams of the next house and fall straight through with a mighty crash,
Guts watched them fall in and Kicked open the door to hear coughing,
Guts looked through the smoke to see the person coughing and waving their hand in front of them to clear the dust, their helmet off to the side revealing a blonde ponytail.
"Ugh! Clearly your one persistent man, You shouldn't have come back." The person said
Guts stood over them stoic "it was dumb luck we came, we heard the scream and thought someone was in trouble." He said
"I know…that's the thing, it's a trap, a lure to reeling unprepared travelers, kill them and eat them." It's what happened to everyone here, including my pig of a father his stupid war buddies, and my mom…" the voice said
Guts looked down sadly "I'm sorry…" he said
"Don't be…but can you at least help me up." They said holding out their hand.
"Of course..." He said as he grabbed there hand
"Jill." He finished as he pulled her up to her feet, she stood up to his shoulders now.
(Casca, Farnese and Puck)
Casca and Puck and Farnese reached the campsite to see Blake and Griffith gone,
"Fuck where the hell are they?" Casca growled.
Puck shook his head "I don't know I'll fly above and see what I can see." He said.
Farnese looked around and started to look at there equipment to make sure nothing was stolen while they were away.
(Griffith)
Griffith ran into the town looking around for anyone he was lucky to stumble upon Serpico and Isidro
"Hey!" He said quickly
The two turned "hey…um what are you doing here?" Isidro asked
"You should be guarding Blake." Serpico said distrustful.
"Blake is not the enemy, tell me have you seen Yang?" Griffith asked
"Yang?…no…" Isidro said
"Fuck we'll be careful of her I have reason to suspect she is the one processed and was trying to put the blame on Blake," Griffith said
Serpico nodded "fine we'll keep an eye out," he said
Suddenly there was a loud Whine in the distance as a blanket of fog set in
"What was that?" Isidro asked looking over his shoulder
"I don't know…and this fog…" Serpico said as he drew his Sword of the wind and slashed.
Unfortunately the Fog stayed there.
"It did nothing!" Isidro asked shocked
Serpico landed. Grit his teeth, "damn I don't like this," he said
Isidro started to run but bumped into something,
"Ahhhhh!" He screamed.
Serpico spun around
"ISIDRO!" He yelled
Nothing…
"ISIDRO!" He tried again,
"Griffith you there?" Serpico asked
"Yeah…right here…" he responded
"Ok stay close." Serpico said
"Right behind you." Griffith said as the two walked together, into the fog.
(Guts & Jill)
Jill headed over to her helmet and picked it up finding had a huge crack on the dome of it, which broke away the second Pressure was applied to it making the helmet snap in two,
"Shit." She hissed
Suddenly a woosh sound was heard as Jill spun around to see Ruby in the doorway,
"Guts what's…who are you?" She asked
"I'm Jill." Jill said
Ruby nodded
Guts sighed "Jill is…someone I ran into before I met you." Guts said
"Right, run into is definitely the right word." Jill said rolling her eyes,
Ruby looked over to her "where did you get the gear?" She asked
"It was my fathers, he was in the army." Jill said
"Was?" Ruby asked quirking her eyebrows
"He's dead." Jill said impassively.
"Oh I ummm I'm sorry." Ruby said
"Don't be he was an asshole, and probably a rapist, but I do know he was a drunk and an abuser don't cry for him kid, he won't save you." Jill said as she walked out.
Ruby was stunned.
"Oh…" Ruby said as she watched her walk out,
Guts looked to Ruby "so find anyone or anything useful?" He asked
"Ton's of useful stuff, no one alive, no bodies either," Ruby said
"You won't find any." Jill said as she drew a dagger and cut off her sleeve,
As she looks at the two. "The monster eats people whole." She said
Suddenly there was a deep whine and a blanket of fog set in.
"Shit it's here." Jill said as she rushed up the wall.
"Quickly get to the roof," she said as she pulled Ruby up.
"Guts!" Ruby said
Guts looked at her, "Go, the roof won't support me," he said
Jill looked back
"If you stay down there you'll die, I've seen this thing slay over 20 guards at once." She said
"…I'll take my chances." Guts said as he drew Dragonslayer.
Jill hissed "fine I'll keep watch overhead!" She said as she ran over to another roof, "but don't think I'll save you if you get in trouble. You didn't do it for me then." She said
"Because I didn't need to." Guts said with a smile to her,
Jill rolled her eyes, and looked over "this fog is thicker and larger than normal…Guts how many bodies did you bring?" She asked
"11." Guts said
Jill cursed. "Shit." If we want to keep everyone alive we need to find them, It preys on the weak first," Jill said as she ran across the roof
Ruby looked at Guts as if waiting for him to speak
Guts looked at Ruby,
"Your team is most likely in trouble." He said
Suddenly there was a crash as they looked to see Weiss flying through the wall of a house, before another hit sent them flying past guts,
"Weiss!" Ruby said
"Let's go!" Guts said
Ruby nodded as the two ran after her,
On the rooftop Jill watched them leave and he found the beast again this time with a child in its mouth,
"Oh no you don't not again!" Jill roared as she jumped down and stabbed the beast in the neck causing it to drop Isidro. With a loud thump.
The beast roared as it bucked trying to send Jill off him
Isidro looked up and ran Jill seeing him run called out to him as he ran
"Don't run straight run in between the houses and climb up quickly!" She said
Isidro ran to the left out of sight she sighed,
As the beast roared, sending her to the ground with her sword still inside the beast, it roared and Charged at Jill.
(Guts)
Guts and Ruby ran to the edge of town and saw Blake Standing over Yang, pueking
"Come on I'm here." Blake said
Yang looked up "b-blake j-ust soof me." She said as she threw up more,
"No Come on Yang, fight it!" Blake said
Yang coughed and finally she threw up again and this time a egg popped out of her mouth
"Ugh gross." Yang gasped weak in the knees,
"Can't be…" Guts said as he reached down. And picked it up.
Sure enough it was, before Yang could react Guts grabbed Yang by the throat which made her grab his hands as he hoisted her up above him
"HOW DID YOU GET THIS?!" He yelled
"GUTS!" Blake yelled
Guts turned to her rage on her as well. "Shut it! Why are you not back at camp!" He said
"To stop Yang Good thing too because look what she did to Sherkie." Blake said
Guts looked over and saw the little witch knocked out,
Guts spun around to her, to see her smilingly her eyes still red.
"Too late Blackswordsmen," Yang said
"Yang!" Blake called
"Give her back!" Guts yelled
"Are you sure? You might not like what-."
Guts didn't hesitate
"NOW!" He roared
The demon Stopped struggling and lowered Yangs arms
"As you wish." As the demon vanished and flew out of Yang and onto the air,
Guts instantly dropped Yang causing her to Cough painfully as her lungs filled with Air,
She looked up to see the Demon above her, Yang ran as fast as she could behind Ruby.
Ruby looked behind her to see Yang shivering like a little girl scared
Yang was never scared…
Ruby glared Daggers at the demon,
The demon laughed. "Kill me as you wish you won't win, I've already planted the seed nothing can stop your destruction now." He said
"I don't know I have your beherit." Guts said showing him the egg
The demon laughed "still the human Fool, the Idea of evil is just that an idea." He said as he looked over to Weiss and flew towards her, Weiss Opened her eyes,
Just in time to see Dragonslayer Slam into the ground next to her nearly cutting her neck. Killing the demon.
"Hehehehe you've done this to yourself Blackswordsmen." The demon said as he vanished.
Guts lifted his sword and helped Weiss up "sorry it was about to possess you I had to stop it are you hurt?" He asked
Weiss huffed and brushed her dress off "scared out of my wits, Yes, hurt no." Weiss said.
Guts sighed "we need to get out of here as soon as possible." He said
"Your not going anywhere!" Yang said as she stepped out. Her hands clenched in anger.
"Yang?" Ruby asked
"After what you just did, after you nearly killed our friend YOUR FRIEND! And we're supposed to trust you again like that!?" Yang asked "No, we need to talk about how you see your friends and enemies." She said
"Yang now's not the time-." Ruby said but Yang was too hot headed as Blake stood up and stood next to her Weiss walked next to Ruby
"If not now then when Ruby? When he decides to abandon us for one of his vendettas? When he puts on that damn armor and stabs one of us to death? yourself?! No! this conversation has to be had, now!" Blake said as she points to Weiss "especially with what just happened."
Ruby was off put and shrunk back however Weiss put a hand on her shoulder.
"Listen We have a job to do, and as huntresses we have to put aside our feelings and liabilities for the sake of the mission." She said
Yang turned to Weiss and snapped "And that's what we're doing Ice Queen, dealing with a liability!" She said
"There is a monster out here that picking us off Yang I-." Weiss snapped at her. Angry at her clouded judgement.
Guts looked towards them "Go I'll be there as soon as I can." He said
"You're not going anywhere." Blake said pulling out Gambol Shroud
"Not until we know just whose side you're on…" Yang growled, cocking Ember Celica.
"Yang…Blake…" Ruby said appalled at their actions,
Guts looked back
"Go!" He said. "And take Sherkie with you." He said
Ruby and Weiss looked at him and reluctantly left, as Guts and. Blake staired each other down.
(Blake & Yang vs Guts)
Guts looked at Yang, "tell me Yang, is this the demon Speaking…or you?" He asked
Yang opened her Cuffs and raised them as she spoke with Steel that matched her eyes "My mind is Clear." She said
Guts nodded and looked to Blake,
"And you?" He asked her,
"Blake held Her weapon to her side, "it's not us who you should be asking." Blake started.
"You should ask yourself. Just who the hell are your friends." Yang growled
Guts raised Dragonslayer his eyes growing darker, 'how dare they question who his friends are, they know what he's been thought, what the hell this world is,' Guts thought,
There was a plop on the grass as Guts looked over to see Skull knight on his Horse.
"Are you here to question my sanity too?" Guts asked
Skull knight said nothing for the longest time, Guts looked over to see Blake amd Yang were not moving, or breathing, time was still.
"What?" Guts asked
"Your beherit." Skull knight said
"You want it?" Guts asked
Skull knight shook his head, "it will be your biggest ally, more so than me, I will do my part, if you be the dam." He said
"What about them?" Guts asked pointing to Yang and Blake.
"Skull knight looked over to him. "This is your fight Struggler…prove them wrong." He said as he walked into the mist,
Guts sighed as he looked at the two infront of him he felt his heart was fast, he was anxious.
'I…don't want to kill them…how do I fight if not to kill?' He thought
Suddenly he looked up to Yang as time unfroze as Yang bolted forward
"Arrrgh!" She yelled as she slammed her left fist towards towards Guts, he instinctively shifted Dragonslayer to take the hit,
Blake appeared behind him and threw her Chain scythe over her head and down on Guts, which he rolled away, making the ground break as the hit landed.
Guts looked at them.
"Listen here, I don't want to hurt you." Guts said
Yang stepped forward "That hasn't stopped you anyways." She said
Blake looked over to Yang for a second but looked back at Guts,
Guts raised his metal hand and fired small bullets out of the top of his wrist acting as Arrows.
Yang raised her fists to block the shots.
Guts rushed forward and went to swing Dragonslayer at Yang but was intercepted by Blake which made him falter as to not kill her,
Fortunately she jumped away and make a stone copy of herself making the Dragonslayer dig into it rooting it in place.
Blake narrowed her eyes as Yang went to charge at Guts
Guts however kicked the Stone clone apart with one kick sending Rocks at Yang's head and sending her back.
Blake looked over to see her head bleeding
'Wait but that's-!'
Blake looked down and sure enough Yangs aura was still around 80% full it should be impossible for her to have a injury to make her bleed like that.
Guts Leveled dragonslayer at both of them
"Listen to me! I don't want to hurt you!" He said
"And we're not going to allow you to hurt anymore of our friends!" Blake yelled as they charged at Guts.
(Ruby & Weiss)
Ruby and Weiss panted as they brought Sherkie to the edge of the town, exhausted.
"Weiss…this fog…" Ruby said looking around
"I know, we need to get Sherkie to safety," Weiss said
"Yeah…but…where is everyone?" Ruby asked
(Jill)
Jill looked at the beast charging at her.
No weapon to defend herself no real protection. She knew she was going to die.
"Heeeeyah!" Isidro screamed as he drew his fire dagger and jumped on the beasts back stabbing it in the neck before going for the eye.
The beast roared in pain the fog started to die away before it exploded in a combustible flame.
Jill looked horrified as she looked around
"The Smog…it's flammable…" she gasped
She was just alive because the fog wasn't as thick as behind her or where the beast was. She had to warn the others
"Kid, get out of there you've done good hitting it but don't cook yourself alive!" She yelled
"Girl shut up!" Isidro snapped
Jill spun around shocked
"Huh?" She asked
"Here I pulled it off of the beast before I lit the smog on fire. I figured it was like that as when I was in its mouth I reached back and felt it's skin it was thick with oils." Isidro said
"Which means we need a flame to kill it." Jill said
"Yea problem is my knife is only capable of embers. And with the Fog is dewy enough to kill any flame I make before it's big enough to consume the fog." Isidro said
Jill picked herself up "we need to get to the roofs quickly We'll be hunted otherwise." Jill said
"I hear you let's go. I hope the others are doing ok." Isidro said
"Let's get yo safety first then we can find them." Jill said
(Serpico & Griffith)
The two looked around tense "this fog is getting thicker." Serpico said
"Yeah…are you as unsettled as I?" Griffith asked
"Probably…" Serpico said
There was a whine common from nearby which made them turn
"What was that?" Serpico asked
"Hush let's listen and see if it's coming closer…" Griffith said
There was another whine louder this time.
"Closer?" Serpico asked
Griffith nodded "yea we should move otherwise oof!" Griffith shouted
"Serpico turned around "Griffith!" He called
"…yeah…yeah I'm here just ran into something…" Griffith called
"What is it?" Serpico asked
"A building… I feel so embarrassed." Griffith said
"Well I can't see my hand with how thick the fog is…Wait the fog! Griffith climb!" Serpico called
"What?" Griffith asked
"The fog is low enough to the ground if he climb high enough we can see over it!" Serpico said
Griffith nodded and started to climb
Serpico following. Just in time too as they looked to see the Beast circling the building there on.
"Close one…" Serpico said
Suddenly the beast stood on its hind legs revealing its head to be Elongated and a big jaw. towering over the house and crashed into the building.
The building shook, nearly sending them to the ground, "damn it." Griffith hissed
"We need to go now," Serpico said as the two ran across the roof and hopped over to the next building, they looked back once across and saw the Beast was gone,
"Where did it go?" Griffith asked looking over the side,
He could just able to spot the beast in the thick fog moving under them,
"It's keeping up Run!" Griffith yelled as they started to run.
As they began to run the building shook as down below the Beast swung its tail which hit the building, nearly knocking them over.
"Damn it." Serpico gasped
"There's no time run!" Griffith yelled. As he leaped to the other building, Serpico followed.
He also missed
"Serpico!" Griffith yelled
Griffith watched Serpico fall and saw the beast open its mouth to try to eat him.
However another voice yelled
"GET SOME OF THIS!"
Isidro held one of Guts hand bombs and after lighting the wick threw it past Serpico
The explosion went off just in time in the beasts mouth sending it away, into the Fog letting Serpico land safely on the ground, alive,
"Serpico you ok?" Griffith asked
"…yeah…I'm not in a giant Alligators belly at least…" Serpico said
Griffith smiled as he turned to thank Isidro for the timing, when he noticed Jill. Isidro stepped in front of Griffith
"Wait she's firendly." He said
Serpico However landed behind Griffith. And narrowed his eyes at Jill.
"We can't prove that Isidro, Yangs apparently Friendly too."
Griffith kept his eyes on Jill as he spoke again, his sword drawn not sure if she was friendly or not.
"Who are you?" He asked
"I saved your friend's life." Jill snarled not believing that she was being questioned like this,
"No you just sat back at watched as my friend was almost eaten." Griffith said
"Griffith enough!" Isidro said as he and Serpico made it to the roof,
"She's telling the truth, she saved my life," he said
Griffith blinked… "oh you were talking about him, I thought you were talking about Serpico…my apologies." Griffith said as he sheathed his sword, and looked out,
"So what do we do now?" He asked
Jill shook her head "the beast isn't gone yet, we need to kill it before we can do anything." She said
"Any ideas?" Serpico asked panting as he laid on the roof,
"It's weak to fire," Isidro said
"Yeah but with all the dew in the air from the fog." Griffith said
Isidro nodded "yeah, but we have a way to, without the dew." Isidro said.
Griffith looked out "we need Yang…" he said worriedly.
"What's wrong with her?" Jill asked.
"She's possessed by another demon." Griffith said
Jill rolled her eyes, "great." She said
"Isidro your quicker and lighter on your feet, find Sherkie, See what's she up to help her heal Yang, we will keep the beast here." Griffith said
Isidro nodded and grabbed his dagger.
"Here it's not much but it will at least keep the beast off you." He said to Jill as he handed her his knife,
Jill was shocked but nodded. As Isidro ran off,
Isidro handed Griffith the rest of his Bombs "it's not much but they work in a pinch just aim for the mouth," he said.
Griffith nodded and accepted the bombs all 5 of them,
Isidro patted Serpico on the shoulder, "good luck," he said as he ran off,
The beast was heard behind them, as the others looked back
"We got to move,." Griffith said as He, Serpico and Jill jumped to the other roofs, or Serpico did as he used his Wind Cape to fly over, the wide street,
(Yang & Blake vs Guts)
Guts stood across the way from both Blake and Yang panting, all three of them were, Blake growled she knew Guts could do so much more,
"Why are you not fighting? I thought you had a job to do?" Blake said
Yang landed next to Blake "don't tell me you've gotten hypocritical?" Yang said
Guts looked to Yang "I've never been hypocritical…" he said
"Bullshit you've never helped anyone in your life?!" Yang shouted
Guts and Blake turned to Yang
"Now that's is just wrong…" Guts said
"You've been seeing Guts for a long time to help with your anger." Blake said edging away from Yang.
Guts stepped forward "Yang I know you're in there tell me… are you in…control…"
Yang looked to fists which were shaking before she looked up and said
"N-no." She said before she clenched her fist and swung wildly at Blake, but the later Disappeared in a clone and appeared next to Guts,
"Damn it how is she still like this?" Blake asked
"Some demons are persistent." Guts said to her as he stepped forward.
Guts looked at her "hang on Yang we'll get you out." He leveled Dragonslayer at her,
Yang looked down her Hair covering her bags, as she bent forward "who says I want your help!?" As she roared and threw herself at Guts. And with one upper cut sent Dragonslayer In the Air as Yang stepped forward for another Punch,
Guts flew with his blade and when he landed he stabbed Dragon in the ground and blocked Yangs second punch which slammed into Dragonslayer. Halting her movement, giving Blake enough time to appear behind her and go for the attack
However Yang saw her from the corner of her Eye and spun around and punched Gambol Shroud out of the Air, tangling Blake around her own weapon, She gasped as she fell forward.
Guts jumped away as Yang followed, pulling Yang as far away from Blake, as she watched the two fight helpless unable to intervene. She looked down and started to wiggle to try to escape,
(Ruby & Weiss)
Ruby and Weiss land on the roof with the Witch and lay her down,
"Come on wake up." Ruby said, shaking her frantically.
Weiss grabbed Ruby's shoulder. Making her calm down,
"Ruby…let me handle it." She said as she made a Glyph in her hand,
Ruby paused but nodded as she stepped away, she looked back towards the town right in time to see Isidro land on there roof.
"Isidro?" Ruby asked
"Ruby! Where's Yang and Sherkie?" He asked
Ruby looked behind her to see Weiss mending Sherkie's aura,
"Guts is fighting off Yang and Blake," she said
"What but Blake isn't she." Isidro asked
Suddenly Sherkie woke up with a cough as she rolled over to her side, Weiss stepped back shocked at how quickly she woke up, as everyone else turned
Ruby looked back to Isidro to see him looking away with a blush on his face,
"What is so Important about Sherkie?" Ruby asked
"Yang!" The young witch screamed, as she looked up and out to the field she looked back to see Ruby and Weiss,
"Ruby…Weiss, it's Yang she…I tried to save her i'm Sorry." She said holding back tears.
Ruby stepped forward
"Yangs not gone yet, I refuse to give up on her, but right now we need to be able to save her, Guts is fighting Blake and Yang, but he can't forever." Ruby said
"Plus we need Yang to deal with the Demon in the village." Isidro said
"What?" Weiss asked
"Fire is its weakness but with the Fog and dew we can't make a fire big enough to ignite the Fog and kill the creature." Isidro said
Weiss stepped forward and drew her rapier "leave it to me." She said
Isidro stopped her "no listen to me," he said putting a hand on her shoulder
"Save your dust, we have no idea when we may actually need it, and you have a limited supply. If you run out of Dust you can only help with your semblance and Gun." He said
Weiss sighed knowing he was right, "fine It's just… I hate being useless." She said
"So we're fighting two demons?" Sherkie asked
"Getting Flashbacks now?" Illivara asked papering from her hat, tired, she had used all her magic to make sure no one attacked her in her helpless state,
Sherkie shook her head, "No we need to focus." She said standing up
"I'll help Yang fight off and then get rid of the demon for good, but I'll need some cover, the demon will target me the second I begin the spell." Sherkie said
Ruby and Weiss nodded "she won't get anywhere close," Weiss said
Sherkie nodded.
(Guts)
Guts and Yang clashed slab of steel meeting fist, sending the two fighters back. As they rocketed forward again, barely stopping to get there feet under them,
Blake looked back in awe as they clashed time and time and time again, while she laid there helpless. Unable to do anything.
"Blake!" A voice said calling over the explosive sound waves, the two fighters caused
Blake looked back to see Ruby, Weiss, and Sherkie running towards her,
Ruby was first as she started to undo her bonds.
"Are you ok?" She asked
"I'm fine, but what about…" Blake said
"Yang will be fine. Guts is holding her off right now quiet well." Ruby said as she looked up
"Ruby no…Yangs pushing him, I'm im sorry I wasn't strong enough to-." Blake started but Weiss shushes her,
"Blake Ruby's right. Guts isn't swinging his sword to attack Yang he's only blocking the attacks." Weiss said
"Wha-?" Blake asked awestruck.
Sherkie nodded "Guts is giving me time to cast the spell." She said
"What spell?" Blake asked as she stood up
"The spell to help us finally rid Yang of the Demon." Ruby said
Blake nodded "then let's do what we need to." Blake said
Ruby stepped forward.
"Sherkie start casting, Weiss Ice-Wall, Blake horde." Ruby said
Guts grit his teeth as he felt Yang slam her fist into the Dragonslayer's side again, he dare not counter Yang for fear of killing her, but also didn't want to risk her breaking his sword.
He just had to trust his equipment.
Guts felt his arm nearly rip off when Yang threw a heavy punch sending The Dragonslayer Wide, Guts kicked Yang in the center of her chest,
Yang growled and Looked up to see Guts throwing his sword down on her.
Yang crossed her arms and met the flat of the blade.
"There we go…now the real battle begins!" Yang sneered and grit her teeth as she tried to lift the blade
"No, the battle has already ended." Guts said as he looked calm and collected
Yang looked down to a casted Circle around her
"No!" She gasped
Guts looked at Yang steely "Give us Yang Back!" He roared
Yang fell to her knees under the effort of the weight of the sword, her physical muscles giving out before her enhanced ones did,
"I am…A GOD!" Demon Yang called
" I've faced down gods before." Guts countered
Yang looked down struggling to hold Herself, "I…will…not be defeated in my head!" Yang yelled as she threw Guts off.
(Jill)
On the roof of the town the 3 ranged into the thickest area of the fog, everyone had to stop for a second
"Shit this fog is twice as big as before I can't see a thing," Griffith said covering his mouth
" I dare not go back for fear of not seeing anything and falling off," Serpico said
Jill looked down
"Serpico can you use your weapons to make it so that fire won't go off in our vicinity." Jill said
Serpico looked around and nodded before swiping his sword in several wide arcs below, left, right, across his chest, above, across below again, as a vortex picked up around them, Jill nodded.
"Alright let's test this out," Jill said as she unsheathed Isidro dagger, and stuck it out of the Vortex.
The effect was instantaneous. Causing a loud whoosh of air as the Gas fog, ingenited, burning much of the fog away from the town.
It was so clear that they got to see the beast in its full glory, leaving all three stunned.
"That…" Serpico said
"Is one big Alligator…" Griffith finished
True to his word the Alligator demon, was a monstrous 25 feet, being able to crush almost anything living.
The Alligator noticed the Lack of Fog and started to let off Gas of its own to Cloak itself.
"We can't let it get away." Jill said
"We can't fight something that big." Griffith said
"We have to try." Serpico argued.
"We'll be squashed to pieces." Griffith argued back
"GUYS!" Jill said making them stop.
"We need to figure out where it is." She said
At the exact time, Isidro appeared "I just saw the beast running South what happened? I thought you were going to confront it?" Isidro asked
Both Serpico and, Griffith looked at each other
"You wouldn't want to if you saw it." Serpico said
"Wait did you say south?" Jill asked
The four looked at each other and said at the same time "Yang!"
"Wait where is Casca and Farnese?" Serpico asked
"I don't know." Griffith asked
"Well if you looked around you would see us." Casca said from the ground,
"Casca, Farnese, Puck!" They cheered,
They caught up with each other about the monster, and they started to come up with a plan to beat it,
"We know it hates fire, but even with the lightest fog, it's impossible to get a fire started." Isidro said
Casca looked around "we need to find a way to draw it back to the town at least so we can lure it out easier." Casca said
"It's too late." Puck said as he looked down "the monster has just reached the edge of the city it's heading straight for the others." The elf warned
"We need to stop this thing now." Griffith said as they all started to run off to face the beast.
(Guts)
Guts landed and immediately charged trying to not let Yang leave the circle
However he stopped as he looked
Yang was punching herself " Get out of my head!" Yang roared
Yang fell onto her knees and a demonic roar was heard across the sky as the demon was forced away from Yangs body.
"NOOOOOO!" The demon yelled as it vanished and was destroyed in the light.
Yang fell to her knees panting, the spell on the ground faded as everyone ran up to her,
Ruby put her arm around Yang and helped her sit up as Guts stood in front of her,
Yang looked up
"W-why…didn't you…kill me? I gave…clear openings while…I was in control… to allow you to do that?" Yang said
"Yang!" Blake gasped
Yang looked over "I knew I couldn't fight it off Blake…" Yang said as she looked up
"But you didn't…why?" She asked
Guts looked at her, and smiled a bit
"Because how is that Considered 'Taking care of a friend?' He said as he started to walk away,
Suddenly there was a loud crash as Guts stopped everyone looked up
To see a massive Alligator on the path towards the Town.
"What is that?" Ruby asked
"Looks like the beast from the town," Guts said
"How are we supposed to fight something like that?" Blake asked
"Very carefully…" Guts said
Suddenly the Demon roared and the field was covered in a thick fog.
Ruby looked around "ugh I can't see a thing!" She said
Suddenly she felt a massive pain in her abdomen and she was sent flying making her scream
"RUBY?!" Weiss called as she watched her fly
Guts snarled "Damn it we can't see a thing in this fog." He grit his teeth.
"Spread out, keep moving, don't stop." Guts said as he vanished
"Wait!" Blake called out to Guts but she heard no response
Blake grit her teeth and started to run
Only to run into someone
"Oof!" Blake cried as she fell on her back
She looked up and it was only due to her fanuas hearing that she recognized what she ran into being the demon.
"AHHHH!"
Guts and everyone else turned
"Blake!" Ruby screamed
No response…
"Blake!" Ruby tried again
"Shit we can't see anything Ruby who were you near last before the fog?" Guts called
"I I don't know Weiss?" Ruby said
"I'm right here Ruby!" Weiss called
"Ok buddy up we need to ARGHHH!" Guts screamed as he was slammed by the tail and sent flying.
"Guts!" Ruby called
"Stick to your buddies! we can't do anything with this amount of fog!" He groaned as he lifted himself with dragon slayer.
"How do we fight it then?" Blake asked somewhere to the left of him. Guts didn't have a full reason of knowing the fog was too thick to see her even an outline it was just instinct.
Gut grit his teeth he had nothing in his Arsenal that would help clear the fog.
"Hehehe…you foolish mortals should just give up!" A deep voice said from the fog.
"What the-AHH!" Blake screamed as she felt a smack in her stomach as the massive tail sent her flying.
"BLAKE!" Ruby and Weiss called out despite not being able to see her.
Blake groaned "ow."
Guts growled
"While you cannot see I haven't even lost my touch in my element." The apostle said as Guts looked to his right.
And was slammed by a large muzzle sending him back.
Guts picked himself up "d-damn." He said he snapped a look to the right as he heard a whistle and a tail caught him and sent him flying.
"ARGH!" Guts roared in pain
"Guts!" Ruby called
"DONT MOVE!" He yelled back.
"W-what?" Blake asked
"He's tracking us by Air pressure as we move around in the fog!" Guts said
"Oh ho ho ho aren't you interesting…" the Apostle said clearly intrigued by how Guts figured out his main ability.
"H-how is that possible?!" Weiss asked
"And more to the point how do we deal with it?" Ruby asked
Guts stood up "with range." Guts huffed
"But we can't track it." Blake said
"No but focus on my voice." Guts said
"Oh your going to do something stupid aren't you." Ruby sighed
"Just be prepared to fire at my voice when I say so." Guts snapped
Guts ran forward blindly as fast as he could pushing a bit of fog out of the way before it filled back in.
Guts felt the wind pressure in his ear to the right shift as he stopped and planted his feet.
He felt the force of a 6-ton slam into his side but he was able to wrap his arm around before he was carried away. Leaving behind Dragonslayer in the process.
The beast swung him around expecting him to fly off but he didn't. He scoffed in arrogance but he then felt a prickle in his tail.
He looked around seeing through the fog like a bat seeing sound waves Guts dragging himself up towards him digging into him with his dagger.
"Get…off…me!" The Apostle yelled
Ruby Weiss and Blake heard the voice and trained there weapons on it "THERE IT IS RWBY OPEN FIRE!" Ruby yelled as She, Weiss and Blake unloaded into the Apostle. Using both there A1's as well as there weapons Blake duel wielding. Ruby firing Crescent Rose from the shoulder using the blade as a Unipod. And Weiss just using the pistol.
Guts smiled at how quickly they caught onto the plan as he dragged himself further up the tail. He noticed the bullets hitting too.
Unfortunately the beast moved making them less accurate. Especially shooting in fog
Ruby heard bullets rushing past her as he pulled her pistol in front of her face. And after hearing Weiss fire next to her knee it had to be Blake.
"BLAKE! CHECK FIRE! CHECK FIRE!" She screamed
In an instant the bullets stopped as Blake called out "Sorry!"
Guts grit his teeth he was getting lightheaded from being swung around so much but he kept climbing. The apostle getting more desperate.
Why…won't…you…let…go!" The apostle roared which caused Team RWBY to fire on his new position.
Guts grit his teeth and he finished climbing the tail and took a breather.
After a minute Ruby called off the volley after not hearing the Bullets hit the apostle skin.
"Check fire Team!" Ruby said
"Where the hell is it?" Weiss asked
"I don't know but we need to trust Guts to tell us when we can-ARGH!" Ruby screamed as she was sent flying backwards as a snout was seen next to Weiss
"RUBY!" Weiss screamed as she leveled her Gun and snapped a shot at the beast hitting it in its eye.
"Arghh!" The Demon roared
Weiss kept unloading into him as did Blake but it wasn't doing anything. As Guts reached the Head.
Guts stabbed the dagger into the beasts neck the forced his jaw open
"RUBY NOT HIT HIM WITH EVERYTHING YOU GOT!" Guts yelled as he held open the beast's mouth. With his arms unable to fire down it or risk being chomped in half.
Unfortunately nothing
"Ruby?" Guts asked
"Wait…Guts I'm starting to see you!" Blake called
Weiss turned around "is that…warmth?" She asked
Guts looked up and from his vision he could see a figure standing next to another one who was slumped limp. The edges of Crescent rose nearby the fallen one. And traces of flames falling off the one standing with long hair.
A growling responded to the void "don't…touch my sister!" The roar permeates to reveal Yang the Flames in her semblance burning away the fog in one go.
"W-what?!" The apostle gasped
'Impossible…the fog I make is so thick only a bonfire can put it out…but if anything close to a flame comes close the fog would put it out…what is she!' The Apostle gasped as he tried to fill in more fog to hide.
Yang roared and charged forward burning away the new fog instantly with just her proximity
'N-no!' The apostle gasped as Yang was at the base of its mouth Arm pulled back
Guts smiled and threw himself out of the mouth as Yang slammed her fist forward letting off a shot past where guts was previously. Using the recoil to pull her arm away as the beasts Jaw snapped close if she didn't use the recoil her arm would have been eaten.
The Demon looked at Yang as Yang looked at the demon.
The demon looked back at he felt an explosion in his stomach.
He lurched up his mouth as the flames from the explosion flew out giving Yang enough time to lunge forward grab the lower jaw and snap the beast mouth shut.
She then proceeded to beat the ever loving crap out of the demon until it was literally a bloody pulp.
And Yang kept punching.
Everyone stared as Yang grit her teeth and kept punching not even noticing she had punched a whole right through the Demons skin and was actually punching the ground beneath the demon.
Finally guts had enough
"Yang." He said softly
"WHAT!?" Yang snapped a look back at Guts her vivid red eyes like lasers bore into him.
Guts was unfazed but everyone else around them flinched.
Yang out of the corner of her eye also noticed Ruby doing the same to
Yang looked down and saw her hand trembling. As her semblance shut off and she fell to the ground in a sob
"Y-Yang?" Ruby asked tenitivly.
"I'm sorry…" Yang apologized "I was so angry at my own choices being taken from me…" she said
She felt a shadow over her and look up in time to see Guts knelt down and put a gentle hand on her shoulder.
"Being angry at your inability of free will is normal." Guts said
Yang nodded "but it matters when our expression inhibits others from expressing that same will…" Yang finished a lesion Guts had taught her.
Guts nodded as he picked her up.
"I'm glad to have you back Yang… I'm sure the others are too." Guts said
Suddenly from behind them Griffith, Jill and the others appeared
"What happened?" Griffith asked
Ruby turned to them "Yang happened." She said simply as the aforementioned Girl waved cheerfully.
Later the group were sitting by the fire talking over what occurred
"So… all of what you said before was…" Ruby asked
Yang sighed "it's the deepest thought I have that I don't share. Either because I know they are wrong but I can't stop thinking. Or…I'm too scared to tell them." Yang said as she looked at Blake with a tenitive smile.
Blake smiled back which made Yang smile grow bigger before she turned to the others
"Guts I know that something's I said were hurtful and blatantly untrue. It's just that these things are what I think about as you've basically replaced Yourself with Ozma in midland." Yang said
"Ozma?" Casca asked
"A…friend of questionable loyalties back in our world." Ruby explained.
Everyone nodded "so basically Griffith then?" Isidro asked
"I was thinking that to be a more apt description." Weiss nodded
Yang nodded "yea…Look I-." She started but Guts cut her off.
"Save it." He said
Yang looked up as the two made eye contact
"There is no need to apologize, because as I see it, there is nothing to apologize for." Guts said
Yang nodded feeling a bit more relived no hard feelings would persist.
Still the newcomer was on edge
"So…what now?" Jill asked Guts
"Tomorrow we start to make our way to Falconia. And try to get an audience with Femto the sooner we can stop them from completing there plan, the sooner we can save both worlds and hopefully return home." Guts said
Everyone agreed to that and decided to turn in for the night.
Eoc
(Guts & Blake fight Yang, and Yang gets knocked out as Sherkie arrives to rid of the demon but Yang is still knocked out as the Demon appears. Guts and the others hold it at a stand still till Yang wakes up and uses her semblance to burn the fog to reveal a Crocodile demon. And Yang uses her flame to light the oils on fire. Killing it.)
