Chapter 4: Is This a Date?

Play: One is the Loneliest Number by Baltic House

On the road, we see a good red car driving by, following the speed limit, and inside our white-haired mutant & his red/black cat friend. Will was driving towards a coffee shop he enjoys and was going to meet up with Jean since she texted him to meet him at the said place, wanting some time to herself and fresh air. He had a feeling that something was up and was a good friend. So he decied to go and get some fresh air as well. And to hang out more with the red-haired beauty was a good bonus in his books.

However, the peace and quiet were out of the window as Carnage in his cat form started singing from the open window on his side.

"And I learn to get along. So you're back, from outer space. I just walked in to find you here with that sad look on your face. I should have changed that stupid lock. I should have made you leave your key. If I'd know for just you'd be back to bother me. Go on now go. Walk out the door," Carnage singing I Will Survive as he took a liking to different songs that humans sing.

"Carnage...bring your head in this window, before I roll it up in there," Will warned, knowing he can handle his friend but needed some quiet to think for coffee with Jean coming up and the song was not helping.

"Gotcha!" Carnage said.

Will sighed and got that quiet but was short-lived. Carnage may have stopped his singing but humming the song still and was starting to get his host's nerves.

"Carnage!" Will exclaimed like that warning was for nothing.

Soon enough the pair found themselves at the cafe, Will parked the car and soon allowed Carnage to form back into his body as he got out of his ride. He had lowered the windows a bit due to the heat of the sun a bit. He took a deep breath and calm himself before walking into the coffee shop to see Jean at the table already. She wore casual clothes, a jacket over her black shirt that had a Spiderman face symbol on it, blue jeans, and comfortable shoes.

"Ah Jean," Will greeted as he took a seat.

"Will, glad that you came," Jean said with a smile on her face, happy that the white-haired teen came.

"Of course, I would always come to my friends and be a support for them," Will said.

"But not for Scott," Jean commented under her breath but was heard by the pair.

It was no secret or suprise, that Will & Carnage don't like Scott after his attacks & keep thinking they are a danger in the mansion. He believes that those two shouldn't stay as if they were monsters, an animal, or bombs wanting to go off. And shades always calls them a paradise in the open where they or anyone else could hear, earning some deep negative points.

"Yes...I would admit that I don't like Scott and have to try to be on good terms but sadly, some things are hard to make good terms with," Will admitted, being truthful.

Jean sensed and was glad for that. Glad that Will was truthful to her and had tried to make peace with Scott but it seems that would take a while or maybe not. She then frowned as she didn't want to think about her ex now her friend noticed that.

"You seem trouble...are you okay Jean?" Will asked, being concerned for his friend.

"A little...(sigh)...you probably heard by now or not yet, that Scott and I broke up before heading to Washington for the debate with the Professor," Jean replied with a frown on her face and was the one that broke it after it was becoming a toxic relationship & couldn't handle his pride of late. She was glad that Ororo, Emma, and Betsy have helped her on that as she told them about her problems before the breakup and now has shared that with Will, and yes with Carnage too.

Will felt bad for Jean as some breakups end in heartache or worst. He held her hands, much to her suprised but smiled and welcome that warm comfort.

"I believe it's my and others to do the job of comforting you, Will," Jean teased with a smirk, feeling happy all of a sudden.

"True...and I believe it's my turn to help you, Jean. You, Emma, and Betsy, everyone have been a big help to Carnage & myself. And I would help you through this too," Will said.

"Thank you," Jean thanked, being very happy and enjoying herself.

Soon enough their drinks came, Jean had already ordered ahead of time. She got herself some warm tea and for Will a white mocha. They kept on talking and having a good time with another other. And they didn't notice how close they were to each other, like almost close to their lips touch but...like good things, someone has to ruin it.

"Are you two going to kiss now?" Carnage asked with a smirk, appearing in his snake-like form, and was lucky it was just them in the shop as the owner was in the back cleaning.

This caused both Will & Jean to pull back, blushing in embarrassment, and looked at Carnage with a glare who was laughing like crazy.

Jean brought her left hand outwards, canceling her power, and soon launched a small brian blast, sending Carnage back inside Will. Carnage then cried out loud like a kid losing his candy or something, getting Jean & Will to laugh quietly and was entertaining.

Soon, Carnage formed out of Will and into his cat form, taking his leave with a glare on his face.

"Where are you going?" Will asked since Carnage still lives inside him and has nowhere to go.

"I HAVE A LIFE TOO!" Carnage screamed.

"No you don't, you are stuck with me," Will responded back, getting a deep hiss from Carnage as he left the shop and back to the red car as the window was rolled down.

Jean giggled at that, always finding those two to be quite funny like good friends or brothers messing with each other.

"You two have your moments," Jean commented.

"That we do, Jean. That we do," Will agreed as he finished up his coffee.

"I think we should head on back home. The professor has a few things to talk to me and I need to get ready for educational classes for the students," Jean said, seeing the time was past noon and need to get back.

"Agree and I would go for some web-swinging, hopeful to calm Carnage down," Will said, getting a node from the redhead beauty and getting up out from their table.

As soon Will got up out of the coffee shop while Jean pays for their drinks. He smiled as he had a good time with her and all. He soon heard the music - Who Let the Dogs Out from his car, causing him to frown and raised an eyebrow as he saw Carnage barking at the song which was weird. A cat barking like a dog?

Will then pushed a button on his car kegs, turned his car off, and got his friend's attention.

"What?" Carnage asked like he did nothing wrong as he watched his host walking to his side of the car.

"You tell the girl you love her?" Carnage asked with a smirk, feeling through their symbiotic bond with Will of his crush and strong feelings for that redhead.

"Hey...no...it was a coffee drink and that is it," Will defended while wishing for something else between them, like a step up or have that almost kiss be an official one. But didn't want to do rush or force, that was a certain shithead's mistake, he not doing that.

"Yeah, yeah, keep telling yourself. You attracted. She is not even my species and I'm attracted," Carnage admitted.

"I supposed to take advice on love from someone that drinks collocate milk all day?" Will asked, teasing back to his friend.

"Hey! That's symbiote code," Carnage defended.

"Yeah, you wanna go for some web swing?" Will asked.

"Hell yeah! Come on," Carnage happily agreed, jumping out of the car and forming back into Will, having their suit formed and allowing his host to take the wheel.

Will's new suit, showed his slim and yet muscular figure with his lower half being dark blue with dark red veins all around it, feet looking more like those of a demon instead of a human, and the upper side is dark red in color with the black web-like design all over it. His hand or rather claws is blue with sharp claws and also silver bracelets around its wrists and also the same red veins as those from its legs, a large, black spider symbol in the middle of its chest, the spider's legs spearing all over the front and back. Finally, the head was the iconic Spiderman mask, with the white jagged eyes. However, on the lower side was a fanged, demonic-looking mouth, looking like it was able to shred anything in its path. (Spider-Carnage from the comics)

The reason for this new appearance is Will and Carnage decied to have different forms which this one happens to be their farviote one. And they keep getting some memory flashes of Spiderman for some reason, being strange to them. They wonder about that. Of course, Carnage has the basic form, hitting that he's in control but only when Will allows him to have his 'playtime' or he gets anger which the second is very rare now, good thing too.

"Oh, already Will," Jean said in slight suprised and wasn't afraid of Will/Carnage's appearance.

"Yes and here, you can use my car to drive yourself back. I would see you home after Carnage and I do some web swing & patrol," Will explained having one of his tendrils come out and handing Jean the keys.

"Thanks. Good luck and be careful, Will," Jean said, still concerned for her friend and worried if some overload of memory flashes would come one day if he pushes himself too far.

"No problem and I will Jean...We will," Will said with a smirk, forming up on his demonic mouth.

"There's something you should know first, a memory flash I saw in your mind during our last session of mental healing," Jean said, getting the pair's attention and walking close to her.

"In that memory flash, it showed a Spiderman's mask on a bed, but nothing else. It was like when I tried to force on that, it disappeared and only shows that flash," Jean explained.

"I remember that but nothing else. I figure that I do web swing might bring up some memories. I doubt that I'm Spiderman as he's already out and about," Will admitted with a shrug of his shoulders.

"Hmm, maybe a connection with Spiderman?" Jean theorized, rubbering her chin in thought.

"Maybe but who knows. I would see you at home Jean," Will said.

"You too, Will," Jean said with a smile on her face and soon watched Will take off by jumping up in the air & started web-swinging for his patrol to the ways home before she got into the red car & drive on home.

However and unknown to many, elsewhere something was happening and could be something bad or good in one group's eyes.
