Chapter 7: Don't poke the Carnage
"Your old friend from college sure knows how to bring out a crowd, Chuck," Logan commented, watching the news on the TV and Senator Alexander Wells getting a boost in his image & Senator Robert Kelly getting a bad image with many people on social media calling him the next Hilter.
"Wells was good at getting people to follow and support him during our college days," Charles admitted, seeing his old friend getting a boost in his campaign.
"Hmm, I can tell," Emma commented as she sat next to Will on his right side and Jean on the left on the sofa, much to Betsy raising an eyebrow and smirking at that as she was on another sofa and Ororo wonder what was going on as she watches that go down but her main focus was on the professor.
"You want us to check it out?" Logan asked, taking a sip of his drink.
"No, as it might cause more harm than good. I would use Cerebro to see if I can locate Senator Kelly," Charles replied, making sense but some were not sure about saving that scumbag and this caused the professor to sigh on that as he sense his X-Men's doubt in their thoughts.
"Senator Kelly is still a politician and saving him could show that not all mutants are bad. And he will face justice for his crimes," The professor added.
"I never understand politics," Will shrugged his shoulders in honest reply.
"Same Will," Carnage agreed in his cat form, licking his paws while listening to the talk.
"You don't half what's going on, pussycat," Logan remarked.
"Oh hahaha, very funny. I have feelings and life, Wolvie," Carnage joked with a smirk.
"Don't call me Wolvie, pussycat," Logan quickly threatened as he drinks more of his drink.
"Anyway, I would still attend to use Cerebro to locate, Senator Kelly. Capturing a senator like him could have gotten so far," Charles said, rubbing his chin in thought.
"I really don't think someone could kidnap, Kelly, professor. Could someone murder him?" Scott asked, speaking for the first time in this meeting, and looked at Jean for a few times but she didn't say a word to him why shouldn't she? They're not together anymore and she wants nothing to do with him or rebuilding that toxic relationship.
"That is one of the options and won't be a suprise. Senator Kelly made a lot of enemies, both mutants and humans," Ororo said.
"Indeed Ororo which I'm hoping that is the last option and pray with Cerebro's help, I can find him and whoever kidnapped him," Charles said, hoping that the senator was alive and could face justice for his crimes and his X-Men agreed to that but the meeting wasn't over quite yet.
Will started noticing something from Scott, his anger being seen clear as day like his visor.
"What shades?" Will asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Where were you last night?" Scott asked or rather demanded, questioning where the parasite duo was at.
Carnage then started hissing a bit and narrowed his eyes, not liking Scott from the first day they meant and not his attitude towards him & his host. And sounds like he wanted answers for where they were last night like he was the leader or in change, which he wasn't.
Will felt his friend's anger he petted him on the cat, calming the red/black alien cat down a bit, and soon narrowed his eyes on Scott.
"What are you saying, Scott?" Charles asked, sensing thus unwanted anger towards Will and Carnage which there was no reason for that.
Everyone was on guard and tense, wondering where this was going and won't be the first time Scott tried to start a fight with Will & Carnage. His attitude and negative toward them were uncalled for, unwanted too.
"I'm just asking where was Will last night as he didn't come to the mansion," Scott said, defending his reasons and not revealing his full attention yet.
"Web swinging and went on patrol, like I always do to help relax," Will replied, not taking this seriously and angering Scott more.
"This is serious Will!" Scott snapped at the white-haired teen, causing him to narrow his eyes more at him and his friend starting to move close to his host to bond in case of trouble comes.
"I know but I don't understand your main reason to question me out of the blue where I have been. As last time I check, you are not the team leader anymore or ground's keeper to keep me lockup in the mansion 24/7," Will commented with a smirk, being the truth and pushing shades' anger more a bit.
"Someone has to keep you and you're parasite friend on a leash," Scott replied with a glare, and anger in his voice was clear as day, much to everyone's shock and disagreement to this.
"That's enough both of you," Charles said, wanting to calm this down and avoid another fight between them as the last time was in the Danger Room, a reasonable one mind you.
"Yes, please. This fighting is pointless," Ororo advised, knowing how Will and Carnage can be easy to anger and didn't want her friend to get hurt if Scott doesn't hold back.
"Careful, shades. Will and Pussycat are the less of your worries," Logan warned with a frown on his face.
"Why are you defending them? For all we know, they killed Kelly like the savage animals they are," Scott said, making his statement clear at last and causing Will's eyes to widen a bit before narrowing in pure hate at this idiot.
Carnage growled more and started forming up within Will, in case this asshole threats his host again. Not on his watch.
Sensing the anger rising, Jean, Emma, and Betsy tried to calm the tension & hate down but would take time as they have to get past the defense, and won't be easy when Will & Carnage are getting mad.
"That's enough Scott. Will couldn't kill Kelly and he's innocent," Jean defended.
"Yes, Summers. This won't help anybody by pointing the finger of blame," Betsy agreed.
"And it would be best to stop before things get out of hand," Emma added with her eyes narrowing now and her voice filled with an ice tone, a threat if Summers dears to harm her...well let's just say, for now, her deep interest.
"Back off Frost, your one to talk to. You could have used you're Hellfire old connections, slut," Scott glared.
"That's it!" Will and Carnage thought screamed in rage, which caused the four telepaths to feel that and clenched their heads hard.
Will was fulling into his spider suit, his eyes pure narrowed and filled with rage now. He now stood up and walked up to Scott who hold his ground much better than in their first meeting.
"Say...that...again," Will warned with a growl following behind, voice filled with pure rage now, like an animal waiting to strike now.
"It's the truth, she's a slut just as you are an animal. Why did the professor waste so much time with you, I have no idea," Scott admitted.
Will was growling now and Carnage was about ready to go berserk on this shithead for good. The four telepaths are struggling as feeling such strong emotions like that, quick and powerful all of sudden, they need to gather themselves & focus to use their powers to calm the pair down, and quickly as things would get out of hand pretty fast.
Logan and Ororo then stepped in front of the pair. Logan easily pushed Will back easy and Ororo placed her hand on Scott's shoulders to back off, as this infighting wasn't happening.
"Enough both of you!" Ororo yelled, not the one to lose herself in anger which was very rare but needed to get her point across.
"Be smart, kid," Logan said as he pushed Will and Carnage back.
"That just proves it. Just an animal," Scott said with venom in his voice and this gave Will an idea to break that stupid ego of that asshole.
"Really now? If we were animals, then I won't have that nice date with Jean the other day and that was what I doing before web-swinging. That's the story and I can say was an enjoyable coffee date I ever had," Will/Carnage teased with a smirk, forming up on their jawed one.
This caused Scott to glare at Will with pure hate and placed his right hand up to his visor, causing everyone's eyes to widen and know what would come next as a powerful, full red beam of energy came out of his eyes & blasted Will/Carnage backward along with Logan.
Ororo pushed Scott's hand away from his visor but just increased his anger and turn his head to blast the white-haired beauty back as well. She grunted a bit but would be fine as it was just a small burn mark on her right shoulder, nothing to majors like Logan and Will.
Logan cracked his neck a bit, healing the burned flesh of his face and left shoulder while having a glare on his face, and stood up.
"That was a mistake, Summers," Logan said, not by him but from Will and Carnage as he saw the pair getting up on their face and the animal was released.
Will was not in control anymore, Carnage was. He was now in his pure form and tendrils forming up, which he then unleashed a powerful primal roar in anger towards that bastard that caused his host/friend and himself pain.
Before Scott could blast Carnage again, he was too slow as he was jumped by the red/black symbiote. He smirked and licked his lips as his right hand, claw fingers covered the top of shades' head, slamming into the ground hard before lifting him up. His left arm formed an ax-like weapon, having some deadly attention in mind now.
"Hehehehe, time to call it. A nighttime light, hahaha," Carnage laughed with a deadly smirk forming on his face and was looking forward to ending this bastard's life for calling one of his host's crushes a slut and blasting him to remember the pain again.
Not going to let that happen and allowed Will to live with that, Logan jumped on Carnage's back and soon brought his claws down to slice off the symbiote's arm, getting him to hissed in pain before reforming the said arm back. He then put the symbiote into an army soldier's hold, having his arms wrapped around him tightly by the throat area, and fought hard to bring him to the ground. The clawed-mutant grunted a bit in pain due to the red/black symbiote trying to break free by having some spikes formed on his back.
Logan knows that Carnage wasn't mad with him and doesn't blame him but Will might not agree with killing Scott. They don't like him but they don't want to kill the bastard.
"Chuck...here up," Logan said, coughed up some blood now as Carnage stabbed one of his lungs now.
"I'm trying but...Carnage is not letting me in and Will needs help to calm down," Charles said, having a struggle to get past the defense.
Betsy got up and walked over to the raging Carnage, her right hand forming a psionic blade and then stabbed into the forehead, causing the anger to stop and be frozen as the purple-haired telepath just broke through the defense now. She then sends a message to Emma and Jean through her telepathic powers, allowing them to enter into his mindscape and calm them down while allowing Will to regain control again. Summers' laser eye blast caused another memory flash to appear and it wasn't the good one. That and combine with Carnage's rage building up between himself & host, then you got yourself a hard one to deal with.
Sensing the anger and danger has passed, Betsy slowly pulled her psionic blade out and give Logan a nod to let go, which he did, and slowly saw Carnage forming back into Will's body. And the white-haired teen was on his knees, holding his face and breathing heavy, about to go into a panic attack.
Betsy knee down, holding Will's hands and slowly calming him down in the real world while Emma & Jean repair the damage in the mindscape, working very effectively too I might add.
"Ororo!?" Will grasped in worried, concerned for his friend.
"I'm quite fine, Will. Just a flesh wound," Ororo said, waving it off but her shoulder would need to be looked out and gain some medication for it.
"I would help you in medical, Ororo. Let's get Will all calm down and Carnage relax," Jean said as she got up and went over to Betsy, helping Will up on his feet as he was struggling due to his near panic attack and how his rage almost caused him to people he cares about around him, not Scott but he didn't nor want Carnage to kill him.
Emma soon walked with them, still having her powers, and focused on Will while Jean and Betsy helped him. This left Logan and Charles in the room alone with groaning Scott.
"Well that was a close call, Charles," Logan remarked.
"I can quite agree, Logan. After Will recovers, have him go out on patrol to calm himself down more and talk with Carnage as well. I would talk with Scott when he wakes and about his attitude of late, it's getting out of hand now," Charles said, never liking when his students fight nor one of them causing harm to others.
Time Skip
Once in the medical wing, Will had made a good recovery in the telepathic session and Carnage was fully calmed down just like his host. Ororo got some wrappings for her shoulders and was lucky it was a low power blast than the full high power that Logan & Will withstood.
The white-haired teen was quiet after the telepathic session was done and no one could blame him. He lost control and Carnage snapped he was defending himself but didn't have to take it so far and almost kill the asshole as he didn't want that.
Jean, Emma, and Betsy could sense the troubled mind that Will was thorough, reasonable, and would need to do another telepath session. And hopeful not to have Carnage and Will have any infighting between them, as that could be harmful to them in the future.
Will soon became surprised as he saw the three telepath beauties bring chairs to the location he was sitting at.
"This...this is not required," Will said with his head down a bit.
"It is Will. I believe we need to do another therapy session," Jean said, sitting in the middle while Emma and Betsy left & right in the circle around Will.
"And besides, when where we will have another chance to have this session go," Emma added, being true as their line of work, anything can happen.
"You and Carnage could use. You two have been through a lot, and I don't think infighting would help," Betsy commented.
"Yeah, true...I just...," Will said but sighed and give up as he saw it would be pointless to fight over this logic and knows better than to fight his battles. And against three telepaths might not be a good call.
"Sooo?" Emma smirked, teasing and knowing the answers that Will had.
Will sighed deeply and soon lay back down in his chair, calming his mind and body down completely.
"Alright, let's start the session," Will agreed, much to the telepaths' enjoyment and happiness while glad that he was willing to agree & feelings for them may be hard to choose now but they can worry about that later. Now they wanted to help him in his great time of need and strengthen the bond between him & Carnage again.
