Chapter 8: Don't Fear God and Warnings

Within the City of New York, we see Will in his spider suit web-swinging on patrol, and was much better now. After his telepathic sessions with Jean, Emma, and Betsy, he was able to talk with and calm Carnage down as like himself, they both suffered more than any being should in life. The red/black symbiote did admit that he wanted to make Scott suffer and might kill him if he did that again but the three telepaths explained to him that killing Summers, even though he is a deep jerk and all, is wrong as Will won't be able to live with himself on killing a bully as that just proves wrong. The symbiote agreed, not wanting to make his host in pain and later decied to do web-swinging as it seems to be the best help for the pair to relax more.

Every time, Will and Carnage web-swinging on their patrols, the same memory flashes up again, and wonder about the more clues that need answering. The Spiderman's mask on a bed and more pictures come, like seeing through someone's else eyes. He keeps seeing different memories of web-swinging and more of Spiderman in action to see his mask on the bed. Why is he having those memory flashes of Spiderman? And was there a deep connection between like Jean theorized? All good questions but sadly no real answers to them.

Will sighed as he then landed on a rooftop, looking down below and seeing the city around him.

"This world has its good sightings," Carnage commented as he and his friend enjoyed seeing the area around them from high places.

"Indeed, Carnage. And I'm glad we were able to relax now," Will agreed, having a smirk forming up on his fanged mouth.

"Same here, I don't feel sorry for beating that shithead," Carnage admitted.

"I know, same here but we don't kill bullies or jerks, Carnage. That proves they are right about us and trust me, shades are not getting off easy for what he did," Will explained.

"Yeah, yeah," Carnage said, agreeing but won't stop him from wanting to beat that piece of shit up which he can tell and sensed his host won't mind, as long it's in the Danger Room.

Then all of sudden, a loud humming noise was heard and caused the pair's spider-sense to be warned of a possible danger nearby. He looked around for the danger but found nothing and soon felt it as the whole rooftop shocked quite a bit until it stopped rather quickly. That wasn't an earthquake and soon saw down below the streets, traffic lights going nuts and cars stuck in lockdown or flashing their lights crazy. Like some unknown force caused such a problem.

This caused Will to only think of one powerful mutant that could have done this and that answer came behind him as he turn his head to see who was there. And that unknown person spoke one sentence that got the pair's full attention.

"We need to talk, William."

Meanwhile - Unknown Location

We see in an open area within a cave lair, someone chained up in a chair and started to wake up, that person being Senator Kelly who was kidnapped by a blue-skinned mutant that took the form of Dr. Zane or was actually Zane all this time. He wasn't sure and had tried to fight but was a big mistake and could only remember her cold ways before she kicked out cold.

"People like you were the reason I was afraid to go to school as a child," She said with anger and disgust before smacking her foot across his face and then kicking his gut, having darkness take up, and now woke up hours later with a painful groan in this strange place.

Kelly painted and was fearful as he looked around to escape which won't do much as he was chained to a chair. He saw one a few exits were open to this main area and could be a way out. That hope was destroyed and he become more scared as he saw the said exits blocked by a few people, mutants.

Mystique was on the left exit door with another person that the senator can't make it but saw from the figure was a woman and had a sniper rifle in her hand, cleaning it from the sounds of it.

The right exit door had a massive being, big body weight and like a human blob or truck to take heavy hits. The others next to him one was messing with his lighter, clicking sounds could be heard and the next mutant was catching some flies flying by him to catch like an actual toad.

This made Kelly sick to his stomach and heard a dark chuckle along with a growled, causing him to be on guard and soon saw two people walking toward him.

The first was a tall muscular, wild, and a more savage man with blonde hair that was spiked, side hairs growing out, eyes that were pure white and slit like a cat, and sharp fangs can be shown. He wore a black and yellow bodysuit with a yellow or golden mane on his shoulders to his head, like his hair and mane were one & same, like a wild savage lion waiting to hunt down his prey. He also had powerful sharp claws that were ready to shred anything in his path.

This Victor Creed, better known as Sabertooth has almost the same powers as Wolverine and the pair have a deep history.

The second was a young mature man with an elegant & mysterious aura around him and had a slim build but had a good build for him. His black hair was like a shadow and moves almost like smoke, filled with mystery. His eyes were pure sinister yellow and around them was black as night, giving him more of a darker aura to his elegance and mystery. His attire was a bussiness suit, his white shirt was torn up a bit from his left arm which showed a black tattoo forming every so often on their own, a black glove on his right hand which another set of tattoos was seen to his elbow on that arm, grey vest, grey pants with matching dress shoes.

This was Vecna or better known as Mastermind, being a powerful telepath and having a wild range of other abilities, making him one of the strongest mutants on the earth. Only a rare few know that reason or rather know his true name by birth, and connection to everything.

"Toad as a wicked tongue, much like yours senator," Vecna smirked as he walked in front of the scared human and looked down on him like an ant is going to meet the boot.

"Who are you, people? Where's Dr. Zane?" Kelly asked or rather demanded like he was still changing but, to be honest, he was scared for his life now.

"Sybil Zane has been dealt with. I had Mystique keep an eye on you from the shadows and brought you here. Impressive power she has, doesn't she? She can take so many shapes," Vecna commented, which caused the shapeshifter to roll her eyes and her friend to do the same as she finished cleaning her rifle.

"Whatever you do to me, you'll make me right. Every word I've spoken would be confirmed," Kelly said, glaring at Vecna who just give a cruel and ideal smirk.

Vecna then nodded at Sabertooth, gesturing him to leave and stand on guard as it was time.

"Are you a God-fearing man, Senator?" Vecna questioned as he brought his hands out, holding them together, and kept walking in view of the scared senator, almost mocking his position of power now.

"It's such a strange phrase to me as I have always thought of God as a teacher when growing up. He was to be the bringer of light, wisdom, and understanding to his children," He added, Senator Kelly looked like he was searching for a response but was too slow.

"Now, I see and what I really think. You should really be afraid of me, not God. Be afraid of my kind, the Brotherhood of Mutants," He smirked, taking the title and group, being the third formation as he gained the loyalty of his members who wanted to follow his view on this world, and rare few were brought with money.

Some would follow through with a shared vision and some for money, it doesn't matter for the Master of the Minds. His vision for his kind and a new era is coming soon.

Vecna then smirked as he wave his right hand, having the chair suddenly following him and dragging the senator with him. It was time now as in front of him, a machine chair was coming down and ready for the user to use at last.

"Oh, it's not so surprising, Kelly. I have learned from a young age of what you kind of fear but now that changes. Don't fear God, Senator, and don't fear me. Not anymore as that would all change very soon," Vecna said as he had the chair stop at the front of the machine and climbed into the machine chair, getting set up and a low humming sound was heard as the said machine powered up.

"What do you intend to do to me?" Kelly asked, his voice panicked despite his desperation to control his tones.

Vecna just chuckled darkly again as the machine was ready and said, "Let's just say God works very, very, very too slow but not me and you shall see Senator."

This would be the first test and taste of things to come, the start of a New Era of Mutants is coming.

Small Time Skip

New York

"Magneto, I presume," Will guessed, being face to face with the Master of Magnetism himself.

"William...," Magento greeted through his usual cold tone.

Will was quiet for a moment and wonder what Magento wanted. Yes, he was told of him by Charles and others after seeing the billboard signs about Genosha - the island for mutants and safe heaven he rules as its King. And how Magento was used to being the enemy of the X-Men for a while, even forming the first Brotherhood of Mutants. It does seem he has calmed down and ruled his nation with great respect like a wise king would. So why he was here and meeting him?

"What do you want?" Will asked while telling Carnage to relax through his thoughts and hear what the King of Genosha has to say.

"A few things...I have heard about you and how you were recruited by Charles after finding you...and you're a little friend from that facility," Magento stated, almost sounding like pitty which made Will raise an eyebrow at that. It sounds like he understands that pain very well.

"I see," Will said, taking a note on those and would have to ask the professor about anything else he shared with Magento.

"Don't be so shocked. Charles and I may have our differences but we have shared the same about the well-being of our fellow mutants. He told me of your condition during one of his visits and got my attention. And I have eyes & ears in the states as well," Magneto explained, almost like he read the white-haired teen like an open book.

"No, I'm not, just interested that's all. But what's the main reason you are here, Magento?" Will asked, wanting to get to the point but not angry with the guy who can control metal around him and a city was not a good place to pick a fight with him either.

"I mainly wish to offer you a place on my island, a place in Genosha," Magento replied, surprising Will deeply of such an offer but wasn't sure as he didn't want to leave his friends, the closest thing he had to family and Carnage doesn't either.

Seeing the unsure and not wanting to leave the foster family, Magento then said, "Take your time, William. I don't expect you to take my offer at the first chance. Just know, that you would be welcome to Genosha whenever you are willing to come."

Will was suprised by that and nodded his head in thanks but something told him there was something else to this visit.

"Also, William, Carnage. There's a great danger coming. A dark force moving, wanting to bring a new era," Magneto warned, getting the pair's full attention and tensing up.

"By who?" Will asked, wondering who is this future danger Magneto was warning him about.

"This future danger is a lot more than you think. Start your search on your professor's past. He too has demons as well and some of them are buried but one has risen out of the grave. Be on your guard and ready as this danger would be far greater than anything you ever face," Magento explained as he then took flight, leaving the pair behind and many questions spinning alive in their minds.

Will was very quiet, not seeing a word as he wonder about that warning and the professor's past. He and others don't ask much of the professor's past as he mostly tells them but there were times when he stopped himself and did not remember something painful from the looks. That made the white-haired teen think deeply about and wonder what demons his teacher has behind closed doors. He was going to need help with this as Carnage won't be much help.

Something told the young mutant and symbiote, that this search would be a shocking discovery and facing a great danger was coming from the past and something else as well.
