AN: Imma be deadass with you all this is my first fanfic and I will gladly take any helpful tips be it writing or lore. This was just an idea I had floating around and decided to put it down somewhere. As you have probably read a million times before, I own neither Highschool DxD nor K Project.

The first sensation Mikoto feels is the warmth of the sunset as he slowly begins to cling to consciousness. The next was a warm crimson liquid coating a little over half his body and eventually, the pain of several broken and fractured bones spread all across his body. The warmth of his aura soon graces his body and he feels his injuries and his pain slowly numb and start healing, while he won't be walking anytime soon, he won't be dying anytime soon either.

'I still have my aura?' He thinks in confusion before he realizes it seems stronger than ever before. He slowly begins to sit up noticing the other main change throughout his body, he was smaller….no…he was younger…He takes note of his body, all of its wounds, scraps, and gashes some of which will probably leave scars before his attention is stolen by a monstrous shriek. Putting a pin on those thoughts he looks over the distance towards the shriek, now acknowledging that he was in a park, however he got there…and notices what looks like a manticore but instead of a lion head, it was the top half of a VERY well endowed female with feral platinum blonde hair and scaly lizard-like arms with sharp claws. He took note of the various corpses surrounding it as she licked some of the blood off of her hands before setting her sights on the lone survivor, an older woman who had fallen onto her back from the monster's initial attack.

The stray devil was in lustful bliss, it had been quite some time since she had feasted. Licking some of the blood off the back of her hand looking at her bounty before she realized she missed one…

'How odd…oh well' she said not thinking much of it, making to lunge for her final target…

A target that she would have gotten had her hands not disappeared in a red flash. That wasn't right… She got everyone in that small gathering in the park…she was sure of it…she looked up at the origin of the flash and what she saw perplexed her. A child with crimson hair, his clothing littered with his own blood, too much blood to be his own, barely standing on their knees with an arm pointed out towards her.

She looked back at her injuries her stumps slowly growing back as a scowl made itself evident on her face.

'A child…a mere child was able to inflict such a wound…on ME!' she thought as a growl began to escape from her. Even though she was on devil territory she would take her time making sure that child would die a painful death. It's not like the Gremories were too keen on keeping this territory free of stray devils either and while this child had crimson hair she doubted one of the devil kings would let one of their kin, especially one so young be in this state. She readied her wings to pounce on the child a few feet away as the child looked at her with indifference before yawning as if it had better things to do, even with its life in such peril. That only made her angrier as she finally lunged at her prey. A mistake she would soon regret for the rest of her short miserable life…

'Damn I missed…such a pain…' Mikoto thought in annoyance as he readjusted his arm powering through the pain from his injuries as he noticed the demon ready itself to lunge.

'Good saves me the trouble of having to aim too much..' He thought before a yawn escaped him. Damn a nap would be good right about now…

The beast finally lunged, soaring through the air in a sight that would have most children terrified…but not Mikoto. He put his trust in the flames as he let loose another blast…this time instead of a flash a brilliant ball of crimson flames hit its target dead center. The creature, if you could ever call it that, landed as a bundle of limbs a few feet in front of him as it writhed in pain, the flames refusing to go out regardless of what she did.

He managed to catch a glimpse of her eyes as she was thrashing about and honestly… all he could say was that he was disappointed… sure his flames were unique and potent but it's not like he put that much into that attack, hell he still felt like shit after experiencing that Damocles down and being stabbed through the heart by his rival, Munakata, let alone all his other injuries…

It seems she didn't take too kindly to being looked down on as she immediately made to claw at him. A futile effort as the flames consumed her with reborn frenzy as she made to attack him, making her writhe in even more pain. He stood there and watched her as her life slowly burned away indifferent to sounds he didn't even know were possible from a living being. Whether she was begging or cursing his name he didn't know but eventually, there was nothing left of her, no blood, no bones, and no ash… nothing. He looked forward at the corpses the beast left behind and soon found himself scowling. His aura suddenly flared in reaction to his anger but he soon found himself losing grip over his consciousness it seems even with his crimson flames reborn, his injuries were too much for his current body at the moment.

The Elderly woman got up her body was still somewhat reeling from the attack but she was able to quickly get over it… well relative to most people her age. She made her way to the young boy who saved her life, carefully avoiding the corpses and spilled blood along the way. She walked up the small incline on the stone path as she slowly analyzed the boy.

He shouldn't even be alive… With all the injuries spread across his body, it was a miracle he was even breathing let alone killing that stray devil with magic. Thinking quickly she pulled out her phone, dialing one of her contacts.

"Okada-san, this call is unexpected…is something the matter?" a gruff muscular voice asked on from the call.

"You could say that… I was out for a walk when I was attacked by a stray devil…" she responded.

"I-I'm sending a response team right away." the man responded mid-panic.

"I'm fine Takemura a boy saved my life, Though you are probably going to have to send more than one response team, the creature made a mess at the park. There are corpses everywhere," she responded.

"A boy?" Takemura asked curiously behind the phone.

"Yes, a boy with crimson hair. He set a beast ablaze with similarly colored flames, He would have killed it with one hit if he didn't miss the first time…" She explained as she finally came to grips with it herself.

Takemura stays quiet on the other end not sure what to say to that.

"I'm not going senile Takemura, you can come here and see the boy yourself" Okada responds as she looks off to the sunset deep in thought of how she was going to deal with the boy.

"I…will send a special response team for the boy." Takemura awkwardly responds.

"And keep tabs on his caretakers at the hospital" She finishes before hanging up the phone and taking one last look at the boy.

'Hopefully, he's not one of those devils… even though he has the crimson hair the only other there were no reports of a new addition in the Gremory linage… guess I'll just have to play it by ear…'
