Harrison's POV
Straightening his dress robes Harrison ensured the patch of an Apprentice Technomage was clear. Under the dress robes he wore a black dress shirt and slacks. All in all he looked like the perfect heir to a Noble House. Even if he was just a spare in the eyes of most purebloods. Unless something happened to Alex he would not become Lord of the House of Potter.
His hair unlike Alex's was not a bird's nest. In fact it tended to lay down easily with a simple brushing. Though if he wasn't carefully it could become like his brothers if he messed with it too much.
Satisfied with his appearance he left his room to find his brother waiting. Alex like Harry was in his finest dress robes, the Heir Crest laying proudly on his shoulder.
At the sight of his brother Harrison raised an eyebrow and asked, "Where are you going?"
Alex grinned as he said, "Why with you of course. We always get invitations to the Malfoy Ball but dad declines it usually. Since you have to go for school dad asked if I wanted to go. So of course I'm going."
Harrison sighed but he knew there was no arguing with his brother. They were too much alike in that. Once they made made up their mind there was little you could do to change it.
Honestly he shouldn't have been surprised that Alex was going. As Heir of the Family he was always invited to such things. Harrison was invited out of respect to his brother but was rarely wanted to be there.
After a moment he said, "Alright but try not to cause any trouble. I represent my master at this Ball and as we are brothers our actions reflect each other."
Alex straightened as he nodded seriously. They both knew that it could be dangerous if they didn't act properly. Especially since the House of Malfoy was not an ally of the House of Potter.
Harrison knew just as Alex did that Lucius Malfoy had served the Dark Lord in the last war. He was able to get out on a technicality. It would be best if they were wary but not rude.
When he and Alex arrived in the floo room their father was waiting. James Potter was dressed in similar robes to his children. The biggest difference however was the Lordship ring on his right index finger. Alex was still too young to receive the Heir ring yet but in a few years he would be wearing it just like their dad.
Harrison said cheerfully, "We're off dad. Are you sure you don't want to come?"
James shook his head as he said, "No unfortunately I cannot. I have to go to the Saint Mungos charity evemt. Your mother insisted that I go and nearly insisted both you and Alex as well."
The twins scrunched their noses at the thought. Neither of them wanted to attend the hospitals charity event. It would be packed full of stuffy adults and no one their own age.
James hazel eyes softened as he continued, "Have fun the Malfoy Ball. If you need to floo back for any reason do so. Harrison remember to ask your master for a meeting between us."
With that the two boys flooed to Malfoy manor. When they landed in the polished hall's floo room a House Elf greeted them. Then they were led to the Ball Room.
More than a hundred and fifty littered the room. Almost immediately Harrison located his master taking to Lord Malfoy. When he went to tell Alex he found the older boy was already gone.
With a small smile he made his way to Keller's side. As per customs he stayed two steps behind and to the man's right. If his master found it prudent he would acknowledge him. Only then could he get closer. If the look on the Malfoy Lord's face was any indication he did not approve of Harrison's presence around the adults.
Keller said suddenly, "Ah here he is now. Harrison I was just speaking about you. Lucius this is my apprentice Harrison Potter, a first year student of Nightingale. Harrison this is our host Lord Malfoy."
Harrison bowed as he greeted, "Nice to meet you, Lord Malfoy. Thank you for having myself and my brother on such short notice."
Lord Malfoy replied politely, "It's is nice to meet you too, Apprentice Potter. It was no issue to add yourself and Heir Potter to the list. Will you be joining the other children this evening? I'm sure my son and his friends would enjoy your company. Maybe you could share some of your stories from Nightingale."
Harrison said, "I'm not sure, Lord Malfoy. That would be up to my Master. I'm supposed to be meeting his associates tonight."
Keller raised his chin in acknowledgement but didn't argue. Harrison was meant to stay by his side after all. Keller excused them to talk to the others of the Ball.
His master spoke to a few people in quiet tones. Harrison kept his mouth shut and only spoke when spoken to. Too many adults he didn't know and conversation topics he wasn't privy to.
So he listened and watched how his master danced around topics. Always getting more answers than he gave. At the same time he didn't lie even if it would have suited him just the same.
As time passed Harrison and Keller began to talk amongst themselves. A few of the guests were giving them odd looks and wide berths. If Harrison had to guess they didn't know what to make of the second Potter child being there.
It was nearing midnight when Keller said, "Here I have something for you," he held out a hand to Harrison and when the boy held out his own hands something metal was dropped into them, "This is a Grade One Spacial Ring. It has five meters of space that you can put object into with your magic."
Harrison was stunned as he looked it over. To the outside observer it was just a normal ring. Made of stainless silver it didn't look like much. Most thieves wouldn't even bother with it. To someone like Harrison it was an extraordinary gift.
Spacial Rings were keyed to the magical signature of the first person to use them. Only that person can put in or take out objects in the ring. When a person died only a high level technomage could reset the ring.
"Thank you," he whispered sincerely.
Without wasting any time Harrison placed it on his right middle finger. A small bit of magic was sent to the ring. Now no one could take it from him. Keller simply gave him a small approving smile.
Before they could start moving away a voice shouted annoyed, "Hey you shouldn't be bothering the adults."
