The rest of his school year passed easily and without issue. Harrison and the other Black Hawks made a name for themselves. They continued their undefeated streak earning them ire of older students.

On top of their battle magic training each were buried under work for their apprenticeships. Harrison began to make his own spacial rings. The techniques required a steady hand and attention to detail. One wrong inscription could have them blow up in his face.

XIII worked on his Necromancy apprenticeship. Necromancy was either something you were able to do or you weren't. Very few master remained in their world. Most apprentices did a self study unable to find an appropriate master.

Whenever they weren't working on their apprenticeships or school work they were dueling. Both Harrison and XIII often made use of the dueling room. At first they were left alone as first years didn't really deserve notice of older years. Until a fifth year stumbled in on one of their sessions. That was when they started gathering a crowd. There were times when older students would call out pointers. Sometimes they would even join Harrison or XIII.

Winter turned into spring and finals approached swiftly. Final stressed out every student no matter what grade they currently held. Harrison had kept his straight O's and he was top of his class. XIII on the outside seemed unchanged but Harrison could see the stress lines.

Finals took an entire week to complete. By the weekend every student was outside enjoying the good weather and lack of stress. Harrison and XIII had completely collapsed in the grass in front of the castle under the shade of a tree. Around them students of all years were doing the same.

The warmth of the sun was relaxing and he was half asleep within minutes. If the snoring was any indication XIII was already a sleep. Oh well. It wasn't like they were going to be bothered out here. The area was too open with too many eyes.

The peace however did not last long as a shadow fell over him. He ignored them as he just wanted to relax. A pulse of angry magic told him that he wouldn't be able to ignore whoever interrupted his peace. The magic was familiar but not someome of his House. A cough sounded from the person and he groaned. Fine he would deal with this person who obviously couldn't take a hint.

Opening his eyes he saw that it was Karasu and the Guard. They were all in their formal robes. It was odd given that today should have been an easy day. Currently they didn't have their wands drawn but that could change in the blink of an eye. His own hand twitched ever so slightly to his own wand.

Despite not moving XIII was now awake. He too could sense the brewing trouble and he would help Harrison if it came down to it.

Karasu growled, "Potter I have had enough of you. You're trying to upset the balance of my school."

Around them the courtyard was silent where it had been bustling with students. Everyone was watching, waiting to see what they would do. This would be the most exciting thing of the year. Unlike previous years a challenge had not been officially made. Unofficially the Black Hawks were constantly at odds with the King. Harrison and XIII had aided their fellow Lupus members in raising their grades. Not wanting to be shown up by their underclassmen the upper years had worked hard. No longer did his house tuck tail and run. Slowly but surely they were proving themselves to be a real contender. The proof was right in front of him now. Karasu saw him as a threat to his seat of power.

Harrison sat up and said coldly, "It's not your school, Karasu. This school belongs to allow who call it home. I'm just proving that to you."

Karasu's eyes flashed with anger before he declared, "Harrison Potter I challenge you to a House honor duel."

Gasps rang out around them. Students no longer pretended not to be listening in. Even XIII was sitting up his eyes flashing amber with his heightened emotions.

A House honor duel was a cross between an honor duel and a challenge for the title of King. If Harrison won he would become King of Nightingale. The Guard would fall under his command. He would be able to create new rules for the school that other students would be forced to follow until he was challenged. He couldn't have asked for better timing. With most of the school watching it was unlikely that anyone would challenge him.

Harrison said hiding his grin, "I accept your challenge."

One of the King's Guard, a girl two years older than Harrison went to get Regulus Black. Any challenges made must be done under the watchful eyes of the Battle Magic Professor. Just in case things went wrong.

It only took a few minutes for the man to arrive. When he did a quick glance with question in his eyes towards Harrison was given. Harrison simply nodded. Yes he was going through with this. There was an almost non-existent sigh before he turned his attention to Karasu.

Regulus said without emotion, "A challenge has been made. Do both parties agree?"

Harrison and Karasu intoned formally, "We do."

Regulus continued, "Are there any special accommodations requested by the challenged?"

"No," answered Harrison.

Regulus nodded, "Very well then we shall begin."

A dueling platform was conjured and both students jumped up on it. They met in the middle. On the command of Regulus they bowed. Karasu barely gave a dip of his head. The rudeness of the act could have Harrison calling a fued between them. That could be considered later after the duel. They then took seven steps back. One. Two. Three.

Spells flew and a reverberated against the shield erected around the table. Harrison ducked around the spells and dodged the best he could without leaving the table. He only used shield charms when he recognized the spell being cast against him.

He two knockback jinxes before sidestepping the a tripping spell. Using the techniques learned in battle magic class he cast an ice spell on the floor. This stopped Karasu from gaining any mobility.

Karasu used an advanced fire spell that burned the left side of his leg. Harrison bit his lip to keep from crying out. It was followed through with a cutting spell that tore through his shoulder. He threw a knock back jinx that hit its mark and Karasu was barely able to stay on the table.

Harrison then got an idea. He had seen a bird conjuring spell in one of his books. They were not yet there in class so he wasn't sure it would work. But there was no time for hesitation here.

Focusing on the images of hawks in his mind he yelled, "Avis!"

Half a dozen blue hawks made of his magic formed from his wand. He directed them towards Karasu. They attacked the older and the force of the attacks knocked him off balance and off the table. Thus he ended the duel.
