Golden eyes glared balefully through the glass at the two who were looking at a square board with papers on it. It had been half a year since arriving in this strange place, and it had to have been the night of the new moon. These people had accepted him after witnessing him changing from his Hanyo form to his human form. There had been plenty of questions, not that he answered them. And at some point, while he had been in a weakened state, the white-haired man made his hand glow green and knocked him out.

Letting out a sigh, InuYasha watched silently as he felt his skin crawl from whatever was being pumped into him through the strange tubes that he was hooked up to in the glass tank. He had seen similar things like this in the video games that Kagome's little brother played. But it was annoying to actually be put in them and have his youki being suppressed by the gunk being forced into his body. And it wasn't a good thing since Tetsaiga was not in his hands.

InuYasha tilted his head to the side, ears swiveling forward as he narrowed his eyes. The two were looking up at him and smiling darkly as they spoke aloud.

"He is a prime specimen Kabuto, and if my chosen host body doesn't arrive soon due to the curse mark, then I will have myself transferred into him," the long girly looking man said, his yellow-snake like eyes practically glowing in the dim light of the room. "He may not have the Uchiha Kekkei Genkai, but his physical parameters are off the charts. And that his blood isn't all human is even more fascinating."

InuYasha felt a sinking feeling as the urge to vomit became so strong. He knew there was yokai out there that body hopped; hell Naraku had done it enough when he wasn't making fucking replicas of himself. But to hear a human say that he could do it with that strange energy that the white-haired one had used was wrong, just plain fucking wrong.

"Of course, Orochimaru-sama," the white-haired man, Kabuto, said. The sinister and creepy smile that tilted his lips up into a psychotic-looking smirk had InuYasha laying his ears flat.

A part of him was blaming Kagome for this fiasco. She should have killed Magatsuhi when she had the chance instead of relying on his dick of an older brother. Hell, he knew it was wrong, but InuYasha kept thinking that Kikyo would have had no problem doing it the moment the Jewel was finished. Then he could have gotten his wish, which had changed throughout the journey. He now wanted Kikyo to come back to life. At least he knew she was a confident, straightforward woman who really didn't need anyone's help.

As he closed his eyes and tried to focus inwards, InuYasha felt a pang of guilt for his thought as he again forced his demonic powers down, so he didn't go berserk. Though almost a month ago, he had felt ripples that were very faint to the South-East that held a familiar presence.

Several sets of eyes looked at the strange pale-skinned, gray-white-haired man who sat in the middle of the hand used for sealing the Bijuu. His elongated eyes, with the tiny red pupils that glowed brightly in the darkness of the room, held their attention. This man had just appeared, wrapped in dark energy that wasn't Chakra and hadn't moved until two days ago.

When he arrived, an emergency meeting had been called for all current members of the active Akatsuki. Most were in shock at the sight of the man, while others were just unconcerned if he couldn't benefit them in one way or another. But what mattered was their Leader Pein was very interested and had them on standby from the missions they'd been assigned.

"You all are annoying just standing around without being here physically and observing me," The man spoke, his blue lips splitting his face into a smile as the dark cocoon of energy vanished from his now sitting body.

This had them stiffening as they watched him stand up and stretch his body. The lazy manner he exuded let them all know he found them not to be a threat at all. But now they could see this man's clothing which looked similar to a mix between a feudal lord and samurai's.

"Well, I think it is time for me to leave, though I am curious about that energy I am feeling from this stone hand," The man said as he lifted his foot and slammed it down a few times, his dark purple-black energy leaking from his leg and into the ritual statue. "It seems as if you weaklings who can't even grace me with your actual bodies have imprisoned a powerful Demon or two."

This had them on edge. Demon's hadn't existed for a long time, but the Bijuu were in a sense demonic? At least from what Pein had told them.

"And what would you know about Demons?"

The sound of their Leader's voice had them all focusing more intently as the strange man blinked his eyes. It started low then grew in volume as the man started laughing at the question from their Leader Pein.

"I know a lot. I am a demon! And my name is Magatsuhi, you pathetic humans!" The man said as the energy that had been leaking from his foot swirled up and around him.

There before their eyes, his body began to shift and change in a semi-fluid motion. His arms seemed to grow and stretch, the color of his exposed flesh changing to the gray of a dried and weathered bone before splitting into several mantis-like blades. But it was the odd color of scales that reminded them of a dragon of lore that covered his body as he continued his mad laughter.

Kagome smiled as she looked at Tsunade, Shizune, and Sakura in the Hokage's office over her cup of tea. Soon the sounds of alarms reached their ears, indicating someone was attacking the front gate. Giving a small shake of her head, Kagome stood and set her cup of tea on the desk before her while the others shared a look.

"Well, I guess we should get down there before the uninvited guest decides to murder your shinobi," Kagome said with a toothy smile, causing the other three to look at her like she had lost her mind.

Not bothering to wait, Kagome spun and walked to the office door and jerked it open just as she felt the presence of one of the Anbu in the office.

"Hokage, reporting, we have an unidentified man at the gates who refused to identify himself. When actions were taken, he attacked with both a sword and a strange jutsu that made a whip of poison!"

Unable to stop herself, Kagome let out a soft laugh as she left the office, pulling the door shut behind her. She could feel the indignation from the four in the office, as well as confusion at her reaction to the report given to Tsunade. Her feet carried swiftly down the stairs to the main lobby of the Hokage's tower.

"Mama!"

She didn't slow as she walked past Shippo, who deftly jumped up and latched onto her arm. A part of her was soaring high at the fact he had appeared, and from the way his aura and youki was flaring, he was not amused.

"Oh, this is going to be fun," Kagome murmured to Shippo. "Is Sango, Miroku, and Kirara there already?"

"Yeah, they sent me to fetch you, just in case you didn't feel his presence," Shippo responded as he laughed.

Jumping back to dodge the green whip that had been confirmed to be made of poison, Itachi watched the silver-haired man carefully. His Sharingan was activated, and he could see that whatever this energy that was flowing around the man wasn't Chakra. And it was clear to him that this man wasn't out to kill, not when he attacked and knocked out the Shinobi that were stupid enough to get close with the flat of his blade. The whip was a means to keep everyone at bay.

What concerned Itachi was that the man's golden-amber gaze was looking at the Hokage's tower.

"Damn, is this man even human?"

Itachi didn't even bother to answer that question from his cousin, who dodged the whip by using his Shunshin. The dark, almost malicious glare that was now being directed in his general direction since Shisui was directly behind him spoke volumes about what the man thought of Shisui's comment.

"This Sesshoumaru does not enjoy wasting his time with insignificant flies," the man stated as he looked rather bored and angry all at once.

The words evoked a feeling of being insulted, though Itachi didn't allow it to show. Emotions for a Shinobi on the battlefield was a death sentence. Yet, he was curious as to why this man suddenly appeared here and what he was after.

"Fluffy, calm yourself, please!"

When the clear, now semi-familiar voice rang out over the tentative calm, Itachi felt his head jerk to the side to look. There standing beside the Monk Miroku and his Wife Sango, who was holding a small cream and black cat? On her shoulder was the Fox kit, and behind her was the Hokage herself, who looked rather flustered.

"Miko, that is not the proper way to address me," The man, Sesshoumaru, said in an indifferent tone. "And Monk, I expect you and the slayer to keep her from harm."

"Ah, well, about that Lord Sesshoumaru," Miroku said, speaking up in a cheery voice. "We arrived at different times. And she just had to pop in after an attack on this village."

Itachi felt a bit dumbfounded as he listened and watched the scene unfold before him. Kagome and Miroku were talking to this man with very different levels of respect. Yet, he could feel the power oozing from the man.

"Would someone care to fucking explain what the hell is going on at the gate of my damn Village!"

The angry laced yell from the Hokage had Itachi looking at her. The ground shook as he watched her lift her foot and slam it down.

He had arrived using his Youki to fly from what these people called Ishigakure or the land of Rock. As he got closer, he felt the presence of the Miko, Monk, Slayer, Kit, and the small nekomata. A part of his instincts stirred at the fact those he took under his protection, his pack, were alive and well. Yet, when he arrived and landed, the humans at the gate dressed as ninja made demands of him. It was annoying, and he felt no need to answer their question, so he decided to walk into the village to go to Miko.

In seconds he was surrounded by several of the little ninja, who threatened him and tried to use their little jutsu's on him. His first reaction had been to kill them, but he refrained from the act for the fact that it would set off the Miko. His ears did not need the pain the screeching from her would inflict as she ranted about being nice to those weaker than him. And he was more than obliged to fighting them since it had been close to three hundred years since he got exercise after almost killing the Tsuchikage of Ishigakure at that point for harming those he had given his protection to.

Sesshoumaru was amused at how well some of the humans had kept up and dodged his sword and poison whip. However, he felt rage when one of them asked if he was even human. The insult, though unintended, was not what he wanted to hear at all. And to make a point, he lashed out at the human male, who vanished like a demon a second before the whip reached him. It had him looking at the man's new location and noticing that he looked like the one he was standing behind and that they both had red eyes.

He let his body go lax as he felt the familiar, pure aura of the Miko approach. Sesshoumaru felt the need to twitch at how she chose to address him before the Monk responded to his query, always duplicitous, which was rather welcome. His explanation, though, had Sesshoumaru mentally sighing at the damn woman's bad luck. Only to arch an eyebrow at the blond woman who yelled at them all before slamming her foot down and making the ground shake under his feet.

Letting a small smile curl his lips, Sesshoumaru arched an eyebrow and met the womans' gaze head-on. He could tell instantly from her smell that she was much older than she looked, and her energy, or Chakra, was being tampered with and funneled into the seal on her forehead. He did not doubt that she was the Leader of this village.

"This Sesshoumaru has come to claim his pack," He stated, keeping his voice rather bland. "The Miko is mine to protect and guard until her mission is finished. As is the Monk, Slayer, and two small demons with them."

He felt that being blunt would be the best way to make this woman and her people understand. What he hadn't expected was the smack of skin on the skin from the Miko as she groaned loudly at him. That was when he felt a sinking feeling that preluded his intuition.

"Yeah, about that, Fluffy," Miko spoke up. "I cannot quite leave the village. You see, they wanna keep me- for the usual reasons," she said, her lips twitching as she clearly fought to keep from smiling openly at him.

"You, Miko, are a magnet for trouble," he said in a deadpan manner. "And you are surrounded by men who have demonic blood, so I am assuming that they covet your power as well."

"Excuse me, but I think I asked a question," the blond woman growled, stopping further conversation between him and the Miko. "I think we should continue this in my office, now."

Sesshoumaru let a smile appear as he watched her spin and march off. He felt amusement at this human woman's actions. Giving a small glance at the Shinobi around him, Sesshoumaru decided to follow the woman. When they all parted to make way for him, he let his gaze look at the Miko, who rolled her eyes at him. As he passed by the two young men who had the red-eyes, he caught the scent of Tengu emanating from them. But it was the fact that they were not looking at him but in the direction of the Miko that had him growling in warning as he passed. She was his ward, and he wouldn't just let anyone near her.
