Yami threw a piece of paper down on the ground in a fit of anger. It was useless, he couldn't write poetry anyway, but when it came to Yuugi… He couldn't tell Yuugi how he felt to his face, and he was terrible with letters, so he'd decided to write a poem.
"Why can't I do this?" Yami growled, throwing another piece of crumbled paper at the wall.
Several dozen balls of paper sat next to the most recent one. He'd been at it for hours, and had yet to come up with a decent poem. It was really starting to frustrate him.
Damn words, why won't you come out right? He thought, staring down at his blank sheet of paper. Of all of the times to be bad at something. Tomorrow is Valentine's Day and I need to have this done.
He picked up the pen and started writing again:
My heart beats like a great big drum…
No, that's not right. He scratched it out.
Roses are red; Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon is blue…
No, that's not right either.
I've always wanted to take your-
Down perverted self! Down!
You've been my guardian angel…
There we go.
Forever and always…
I think I'm starting to get the hang of this.
Now I think we must depart, because I need to fart.
…Damn... I'm so screwed.
The next morning, Yuugi found a piece of paper on his pillow when he came back from the bathroom. It was neatly folded and a candy heart was taped to it. Carefully written next to the candy heart was: To Yuugi. From Yami.
Yuugi smiled as he unfolded it. He began to read it:
I tried so hard to write you a poem,
I tried for hours and hours.
But the words just weren't right.
I didn't know why it was so hard to say:
Three simple words.
Words that express so much.
Three simple words.
Words that show so much emotion.
Three simple words.
I've wanted to say them for so long.
Three simple words.
Now I finally get my chance.
Three simple words.
I love you.
Those are my three simple words.
I love you Yuugi.
A/N: This series won't be posted on a regular basis. Basicly, if I get the inspiration, I'll post a new chapter, but don't expect that to happen often. Anyway, please review. This is my first real yaoi story, so any/all coments will be apreciated.
