Look at what I found! The notes that Kellygirl46 sent me years ago for Triton's Bay and time to write! As usual, Descendants belongs to Disney, and this point in the story still belongs to Kellygirl46.
Without further ado, Chapter 9!
Four years ago
Lonnie sat rocking her sleeping baby in her arms. She was heartbroken. She should have known that going to Auradon to tell Jay about the baby was bad. Jay wasn't hurting over her, he had moved on, with Riley. Looking down at her baby girl now, she knew this was all she had left of Jay.
Her phone vibrated on the table, Lonnie assumed it was Sian again. He had called her several times since she left last night. In each call, he told her that there was a misunderstanding, Jay was drunk and Riley acted on it. Lonnie didn't know what to think.
Lonnie picked up the phone and spoke tiredly immediately. "Sian, I can't have this conversation again - "
"Good, then I only have to say this once. Jay and I are together now. You saw it for yourself last night. Don't come back here, Lonnie. You aren't wanted." Riley snarled before hanging up.
Lonnie shook her head and started to put the phone down when a text came through. Lonnie looked at it and felt the tears start again. It was Jay sleeping in a bed with Riley curled against him. Jay had slept with her. Lonnie sobbed. She didn't want to see this."
Present
"Are you sure you're gonna be here? Or when things get tough, are you gonna leave again? I don't want her heart broken by you when you decide it's too hard. Because parenting's hard, Jay. Really hard. And I can't take losing you again and breaking both of our hearts. I won't go through that again. I saw it, Jay. Riley sent me the picture of you in bed with her. I can't pretend I didn't see that."
Jay struggled to keep his temper in check. He didn't want to fight about this in front of Jaylian. "I never slept with her! Never! Habibi, she faked those pictures; I swear, nothing ever happened with her." He would have to deal with Riley personally. She had done a lot of damage here. "You're right, Lonnie. It's gonna be hard. And we will both have to put in a lot of effort and adjust." He cautiously closed the distance between them and cupped her face. "I'm not leaving you again. So put me on the damn list at the school and let me into your life."
His lips crushed hers, demanding her to succumb to him. Sliding his lips over hers, nipping at her bottom lip for entrance, Jay deepened the kiss until he felt her give in. Her body melted into his as she slipped her arms around his waist and his temper subsided immediately. Jay wasn't going to let her think he was going away again. His world exploded when he lost her, and Riley had played a huge role in him not coming back. She convinced Lonnie that he had moved on, and tried to keep the both of them from trying to hold on. He wouldn't let that happen again.
"You should get dressed so we can get going," Jay whispered as he rested his forehead against Lonnie's. "When I get you alone again, we're gonna continue this. I'm gonna remind you of everything we had and everything we will have again."
Tessa grinned at Lonnie, then squeezed Jaylian's hand. If a guy ever kissed her and looked at her the way Jay was looking at Lonnie, she would never walk away. Jaylian giggled nervously and looked up at Tessa. Lonnie looked at her daughter and smiled. She started feeling hope for the first time in a long time. Lonnie nodded to Jay and went to get dressed. She had a job to deal with, too. That would be another difficult conversation with Jay.
Jay grabbed his plate and cutlery and sat with Jaylian. The little girl tilted her head and cocked an eyebrow at her father. "Why were you and mama shouting and then kissing?"
"Mama and I were just arguing about why I haven't been here for so long." Jay noticed Jaylian's lower lip beginning to quiver. "What's wrong, pumpkin?" Jay asked as he turned to Jaylian and cupped her face.
"Is it because of me?" She whispered.
"No, Habibi. Come here," Jay gently lifted her to his lap and pulled her in for a big hug and a kiss on her head. He realized that he was going to have to tell her the truth eventually. Might as well start now, he decided. "There was a mean girl who lied to mama and tricked her into thinking that I don't love her anymore because the mean girl wants to be with me." Jay glanced at Tessa, who gave him an encouraging smile and a nod. "But I don't like this girl because so she's mean, and I love mama instead. Mama and I need time to work things out, and that means that we might fight sometimes," Jay paused to pull back and look Jaylian in the eye, "but that is not your fault, okay?"
Jaylian just nodded silently.
"None of this is your fault, pumpkin. I left before mama even knew that you were in her tummy," Jay smiled and tickled Jylian's tummy, making the little girl giggle. "On that note, what do you want for your birthday?"
"Daddy, for my birthday I want a bouncy castle and chocolate cake with raspberry jam and a princess castle - " Jaylian started.
"Okay, Habibi. We'll make a list and get you everything you want, but you know what? I think your mom needs a present, too. She did give you life on that special day, too. You think you can help me out with that?" Jay asked, even though he already had something that he has been wanting to give Lonnie for years. He just needed the right moment.
"But first, we need to finish breakfast and get you ready for school," Jay set Jaylian back in her booster seat and ruffled her hair affectionately.
The boys rang the doorbell, and Tessa let them in. Aziz stopped just inside the door and blushed ever so slightly and smiled at Tessa. The girl was stunning The short blonde pixie cut was mussed perfectly, and the short green skirt and tie-dyed green t-shirt and white tennis shoes caught his attention. She was effortlessly cute and sexy and Aziz could only grin. Jay noticed and smirked at his friend. If Tessa was still single, he could have some fun playing matchmaker.
"Long time, no see boys! God, I'm in Heaven with such stunning hotties all in one room!" Tessa said teasingly. "Who do I get to choose from?"
"Sorry Tessa, you know I'm off the market," Jay said softly as he walked over to her and greeted his friends, "but Aziz is available for you."
Tessa hugged Jay. "That was some great parenting you did just now. And I'm so glad you finally pulled your head out of your ass and came home. Lonnie's been miserable without you. And if I ever meet this Riley bitch, I'm gonna break out a can of fairy whoop-ass on her."
Carlos opened up his laptop on the coffee table and got to work. They needed to find Mulan, and fast. Last night, he had managed to hack into her emails, bank account, and credit card accounts. He quickly got to work searching through emails she had sent and received, bank and credit card activity, and anything else that might give them a clue where she went.
"What have you found?" Jay asked, leaning over and looking at the screen.
"Not much. It looks like regular credit card activities up until last Thursday, then everything just stopped. Her bank account had a large cash withdrawal a few days before she disappeared, then nothing. I'm gonna break into the traffic cameras and see what that shows."
"Lonnie and I are taking Jaylian to school. Text me if you find anything. We've got some family stuff to take care of." Jay said as the girls walked in. "Have you talked to Jane?"
Carlos shook his head. "She stayed with Ally and Jordan last night. I don't know what to say right now. That was a pretty big secret to keep from me."
"Yeah, but it's my kid she kept a secret, not yours. You're gonna need to deal with it. Don't let this hurt your relationship with Jane." Jay said softly, before returning to the kitchen table.
Tyler, Aziz, and Ally got into the car. They were heading out to find Sian. Ally wasn't sure what they were going to find. The last time Ally saw Sian, things were tense between them, to say the least. Sian did what he thought was best. He broke things off with her, and Ally was never quite the same after that; neither of them was. She thought back to when they were all happy together. It felt so long ago now.
Eight Years Ago
Ally was helping out at the library that day, and was busy getting books back on the shelves when all the boys came in. Looking over, she saw Sian and smiled softly to herself. She had managed to get his attention with the help of Lonnie and her friends, but her shyness was definitely a problem.
Tyler looked over and saw Ally putting the books away, and had an idea. Smacking Aziz in the chest and nodding over to her, the two boys came up with a plan.
"Need to borrow your desk, Lonnie," Tyler said as he pulled Lonnie, chair and all, away from the desk. "I've lost it!"
"Oh no!" Aziz laughed as he climbed up with him.
"Yes, I've lost it," Tyler looked down at all the boys and nodded as he began singing a cappella. "You never close your eyes anymore, when I kiss your lips," Tyler dramatically turned and reached a hand towards Ally, who was trying her best to ignore them, and Aziz mirrored him.
"And there's no tenderness like before in your fingertips," Aziz sang the harmony.
"You're trying hard not to show it," Tyler and Aziz were back to back on top of the desks.
"Ally!" Carlos and Jay joined in, completing the chord. Ally turned to watch them when she heard her name, blushing a bright red. "But baby, baby, I know it! You've lost that loving feeling… woohoo that lovin' feeling, you've lost that lovin' feeling it's gone, gone, gone… woohoo oh." As Tyler and Aziz sand to their knees for her.
Ally covered her mouth and giggled as the boys sang to her. They were friendly and goofy and gave her such warm fuzzies. She liked this group that was singing their hearts out to her. Her friends were surprisingly talented. Looking over at Sian, she bit her lip and watched him. He was just so serious all the time. She couldn't imagine him singing with them. It wasn't his style."
Sian just chuckled and shook his head at his friends. "Dorks"
"You'd better go talk to her before they keep singing," Jay nudged Sian.
Sian nodded and slowly walked over. Ally looked down, the shyness crept in and she blushed. She didn't know what to do. Sian gave her his sexy smirk and leaned against the bookshelf. He looked back at his friends, still singing but off the desk now, and turned back to Ally. His friends had gotten what they wanted.
"Good morning, Ally," Sian said softly, but it was enough to make the butterflies in Ally's stomach flutter. Despite the bit of courage she had with Jay and Lonnie's relationship, she was very shy with her own crush.
"Sian," Ally didn't look directly at his face, but shyly glanced from under her lashes. "Are you afraid to sing with the boys?"
Sian chuckled and kicked at the shelf. "No… I don't sing."
"You don't sing, you barely dance, you rarely truly smile. What is it that brings you joy, Sian? You never express it; well not fully, at least." Ally asked curiously.
Sian smirked and nodded. His first answer was her, but Sian was afraid it would scare her off. Since Lonnie's birthday party, they hadn't spent much time together. Now, he and all of their mutual friends were leaving for the lake in the morning. He contemplated what to say, and how to say it.
"Why don't you come to the lake with us and find out?" Sian reached over and helped her with a book that was too high, sandwiching her between the bookshelf and his body. "The girls will be going with us, too. Even Mal and Evie. There's plenty of room. Come with us?"
"Because you were just pushed to ask me, or because you want me to?" Ally was as straightforward as ever with her questions.
Sian said nothing, but leaned down to the small blonde and gave her a soft brief kiss. "We leave at nine am. You're riding with me."
Present
Ally sighed. She missed those days. Everything seemed so much simpler then. Ally looked up at the rundown motel as the car came to a stop. So this is where he's been hiding out. Why? Ally wondered. She got out and followed the boys to the room. Tyler and Aziz paused. Both looked down at Ally and frowned.
"Ally, why don't you stay in the car? We don't know what shape he's in." Tyler suggested, but Ally only shook her head and pushed past them.
They knocked on the door but didn't get an answer. Aziz went to work on the lock and quickly popped it open. Opening the door slowly, Ally walked into the darkened room. Sian was sitting on the foot of the bed, an empty bottle in his hand and his head hung low. He didn't even look up. Ally's heart broke for him.
Walking to him, she knelt down in front of Sian and cupped his face, forcing Sian to look at her. His eyes were glazed and watery. He was drunk and saw her, but not clearly. His hand reached for her slowly, not quite believing she was really here. Gingerly, he touched her face and ran his fingers through her hair, as if he was afraid she might vanish into thin air.
"Ally? Baby?" Sian said softly. He hoped it wasn't his drunken brain playing tricks on him.
"Yeah, I'm here." Her lips met his softly, kiss after kiss. Gentle and tender as he always was with her, Sian broke into tears. His rigid self-control was completely gone. Ally pulled back and sighed. It had been far too long. "It's time to come home, Sian."
Author's notes:
I loved writing this chapter. I would like to explore the friendships between Jay and Tessa, and Tessa and Jane a bit more (I plan on having Tessa be one of Jane's bridesmaids b/c she and Jane grew so close over their shared fairy heritage). I also plan on introducing Jaylian to Evie, Doug, Mal, and Ben!
My favourite part was the flashback. Tyler and Aziz remind me so much of my friends from high school and university. I miss them. PS: the song they're singing is called "You ve lost that lovin feeling" by the Righteous Brothers
