Riku: Ignore her, she's delusional.
Me: If you don't shut up there's a certain brunette that you won't be getting any action from… and I don't mean me!
Riku: shuts up
"I'm so bored," Kairi complained. "There's nothing to do around here now that everyone's away on vacation."
"Yeah, it is kind of dull," Sora agreed. Selphie had gone to visit her grandparents for the summer and Tidus and Wakka were away for a Blitzball tournament.
"Well why don't we just go somewhere then too?" Riku suggested. He knew they all desperately needed something to do.
"With what money?" Sora countered. "I only have $20."
"Same here, I have next to nothing when it comes to cash," Kairi said sadly. Riku sighed. He was broke too. He went back to slumping on the dock where they all sat. This was awful. Everyone had somewhere to go for the summer except for them. There had to be a way around this boredom. Suddenly an idea hit them, literally.
"What the…" Sora said, fumbling with the paper that had blown into his face. Once he had it upside right and saw what it was, he nearly jumped for joy. "We can enter the karaoke contest!"
"WHAT!" Kairi and Riku asked their friend simultaneously. Had he gone insane?
"Yeah!" Sora said, feeling sure of himself. "It's a great idea and just look at the prize!" Kairi took the flyer and read it aloud.
"Karaoke competition this Friday at 7. Winners will receive …an all expenses paid trip to Disney World!"
"Disney World?" Riku echoed.
"Disney World!" Sora said smiling. "Come on Riku, it's perfect, you were just saying that we needed a vacation, and it's all expenses paid so our money situation won't be a problem!"
"Yeah!" Kairi chimed in. "And with all three of us participating we have an even better chance of winning!"
"I don't know," Riku said hesitantly, he hated seeing his friends so bored, but karaoke?
"Aw come on Riku! PLEEASE?" Sora and Kairi asked, giving Riku their very best puppy dog faces.
"Oh alright," he caved in, how could anyone resist those eyes.
"HOORAY!" Kairi cheered. She then proceeded to link her arm in Sora's and dosido.
"Kairi," Riku tried to snap her out of la-la land. "KAIRI!" He finally got her attention. "We haven't won yet. We haven't even picked songs."
"Not to worry," Kairi assured him. "I have plenty of CD's at my house for you to choose from."
"Well let's go then!" Sora said excitedly. "Race you to Kairi's house Riku!" Riku shook his head and smiled at his naïve friend.
"When will you ever learn?" He joked. "Alright you're on!" And with that, the two boys took off towards Kairi's house with Kairi following not far behind.
