Soul Marked

Christmas One Shot

Hi guys! I really wanted to do a One shot for you guys this Christmas! Its going to be probably another three weeks before my next chapter comes out so to help with that wait I decided to write this cute little chapter. Its super short but I hope you guys enjoy it!

I wanted to get it posted earlier in the day but with it being Christmas I was with family and only getting the free time to do so now.

This is based in the future a couple years after graduation where the both of them have gotten their own agencies, and are currently married. If I ever did a sequel when they were adults this was one of my possible ideas for it.

Please enjoy and maybe leave a review!

Merry Christmas!

Izuka stopped to stare at the window display at the shopping mall. She bit her lip as her thoughts drifted to the news she had received earlier that day. Christmas lights flashed merrily around her, but her mood didn't reflect the cheeriness in the air. Moving past the display she clutched at the bag that held her present to Kacchan. She had been late getting it, her hero duties escalating within the past few weeks due to the holiday. So late in fact that it was already Christmas eve, and in a few hours they were meant to meet up for dinner. They would be exchanging gifts afterward, and upon realizing what day it was she had rushed away from her agency to go look for the perfect gift. After spending what seemed like forever Izuka had finally found the perfect gift.

She had spotted it from within another store, completely at a loss for what to choose, when the department across the way caught her attention. It was simple honestly, but the significance of the gift caused her stomach to flop uncomfortably.

'Would he like it?'

Her nerves got the best of her as she bit harder down on her lip. Wincing Izuka pulled her phone from her pocket and with a sigh realized it was still too early in the afternoon for Kacchan to get off duty and leave his agency. She was only out shopping due to her sidekick kicking her out the door and threatening her with bodily harm if she dared to come back before the weekend was over. It wasn't surprising as she hadn't been taking time off instead of throwing herself into work trying to help with the onslaught of villain activity. Guilty as it made her, she had barely made time to see Katsuki outside of the few waking moments before heading off to work again. She was sure he has seen more of her sleeping form than anything since the start of December. Her only saving grace from completely dying of guilt was that his schedule had been just as hectic.

Deciding she needed to buy some time before going home and getting ready she dialed her best friend's number. Confirming the usual place to meet up she hung up and quickly headed in the direction of their favorite cafe.

Arriving first Izuka ordered her tea and snagged a seat by the window to wait for her friend. Pulling her jacket and scarf off she placed them on the back of her chair letting her mind wander as she stared out the window. The snow had been lightly falling since earlier that morning, a feat that had put a small smile on her face. She loved the snow, especially when it happened for Christmas. Her bad mood from earlier was slightly lifted as she thought of the prospect of having a nice thin layer.

A flash of blonde hair entered her vision and a moment later the cafe door jingled announcing a new customer. Kaminari's excited greeting met her ears as she pushed herself from her chair and into his arms to return the hug she was suddenly swept into.

"Iz-chan!" he greeted, hugging her tightly. Smiling, she squeezed him back before letting him go. They both took their seats and he quickly called over a waiter to place his order. "I feel like it's been forever since we've last seen each other." Izuka frowned, tilting her head to the side in confusion.

"We just worked on that case together two weeks ago." Kaminari worked at Kirishima's agency, and every once in a while the two agencies would team up to work together. Kirishima typically sent Kaminari to work with her as they got along well, and the duo had come up with the perfect combination moves to end fights quickly.

"I meant outside of work," he said with a shake of his head. "None of those encounters count. I can't talk about my personal life with you during those settings." Still not entirely bought on the fact that they didn't count, after all, she counted those toward her interactions with Katsuki. Though with the doubtful expression on Kaminari's face maybe she shouldn't. Perhaps as of recently, she had been neglecting her soulmate. That fact caused a new sense of sadness to overwhelm her.

"What couldn't you have told me?" Izuka asked, trying to change the subject. She knew she shouldn't have been getting sad so easily, especially over something Kacchan understood, and neither held against the other, but the emotion couldn't be helped.

Kaminari changed in the next moment. He happily accepted the coffee placed in front of him before turning his suddenly ecstatic eyes toward his friend. She hadn't noticed before but Kaminari had been looking far more joyful recently. It was true that he hardly wasn't happy, but the last time she had seen him he held an extra glow. It shined so brightly at the moment that she wasn't sure how she ever could have missed it. He almost seemed to bounce in his seat as he glanced around the cafe, before leaning forward in his seat.

"I'm going to ask Ibara to marry me tonight at dinner," he whispered as if the girl in question was within hearing distance. She froze. Slowly as the news processed a smile etched its way on her face. Without thinking her body began to move as she stood up and cleared the distance between them. Her arms wrapped around him in another hug, the excitement she felt for her friend taking the next step in his relationship, overflowed as she began to jump up and down. Forced along with her, he too jumped until she released him.

"That's so great, Kami!" she excitedly whispered, trying to remember her manners in a public place. "When did you decide to do this?!" He rubbed the back of his head as they both took their seats once more.

"A couple of months ago," he said as he dug into his pocket. "I haven't had the chance to tell you, but I've been thinking about it for a while. I even finally saved up enough for a ring that I bought a few weeks ago! It wasn't until last week that I knew when I wanted to ask." Pulling out the box he slid it across the table for her to see. Carefully Izuka opened the small black velvet box to admire the ring inside. It was a stunning princess cut with two smaller diamonds framing each side. The band was designed to look like a vine in significance of her quirk, and Izuka knew the girl would end up loving it.

"You did well, Kami!" she exclaimed happily. "She's going to love it. It's so beautiful." He happily took it back from her sliding it back into his pocket as he sent her another happy look. She truly had been lost in work if this is how he had been looking.

"I thought it was about time," he said. "What with you and Bakugo having gotten married, and Kirishima and Mina's is next month. I always knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her, but one day it just hit me that I needed to pop the question and do it properly. She deserves that, and it makes me happy. She makes me happy." The amount of joy that oozed from Kaminari was infectious and they spent the rest of their lunch gushing over Kaminari's plans. He had planned every detail out, a feat that Izuka had been surprised about, but very approving of. Sent off with the knowledge that he was being romantic, and that his plans would not fail, she watched as Kaminari skipped his way down toward his apartment.

Her mood effectively lifted, she turned in the opposite direction and toward where the apartment that Katsuki and she shared was. Between the both of them having their own agency it was on the nicer side but neither felt the need to flaunt what money they had, and lived perfectly within their means. It was modest but to her perfect.

Placing the gift on the counter she made quick work of wrapping it up and placing it under the tree. Her own present from Katsuki had been sitting there for several days now. It had been bought during one of his rare free moments, and since it's placement under the tree she had been teased endlessly for not being the first one to buy the gift that year. A small fond smile tugged at the corner of her lips as she remembered him waking her up early before work to rub it into her face. Any spare moment that he found to text her was a reminder, and she knew he was secretly proud of that fact.

Turning away Izuka moved toward the bathroom to begin getting ready for their date tonight. Excitement and nerves flooded her stomach as she thought of the present she would be giving to her husband. One final wish of hoping he would like it fled her mind as she set to finding the perfect dress, and jumping into the shower. Having applied a small amount of makeup, enough to highlight her natural features, she stepped from the bathroom only to run into Katsuki. His hand reached out, gripping her waist, steadying her as she glanced up at him in surprise.

"Sorry," he said with a smirk. "Didn't think you were coming out. Did I scare you?" Affronted Izuka shook her head, a small glare covering her features as she playfully reached out to punch his arm.

"Scared?! Yeah, right, Kacchan!" Dodging he caught her hand and yanked her forward into his chest. Off-balance she gripped at his shirt noticing that he had already changed into the suit he planned on wearing for the night. His hair was still damp telling her he had showered at his agency before arriving. Snuggling into his embrace she reached up to tug lightly at his hair. It had grown and was now falling into his eyes. Soon Izuka knew he would be getting it cut, but she found she liked the slightly longer look on him.

Grabbing at her hands he brought them down to their sides, his own lacing with her fingers as he leaned down to touch his forehead to hers. "I missed you, Kacchan," she whispered as she nuzzled into him. Shifting, his lips touched her own in a chaste kiss.

"Hn," he said with a nod of his head. "I feel the same. My schedule is lightening up. We should be able to make more time for one another soon." She smiled as she leaned forward recapturing his lips with hers.

"Mine as well," she said, in-between kisses. "For the foreseeable future." He opened his mouth to question her, but she cut him off with another kiss. This one was deeper than the others. His hands untangled from her fingers to wrap around her waist. She sighed into the kiss allowing all thought to slip away. Even after all the years, they had been together each kiss felt like the first to her. The spark that ran down her spine, butterflies erupting in her stomach, and the delicious blankness that swept over her mind, completely filled with only his presence.

Electricity hummed under her skin, sparking alive where his hands lingered. Warmth surrounded her as the bond wrapped around them. He nipped at her bottom lip before swiping his tongue seeking entrance. Tilting her head she pressed closer to him, a moan escaping her mouth. He pressed her back until she hit the wall, his body looming over her. Whimpering she pulled back giving him a sorrowful smile. Raising her hand she pushed lightly against his chest.

"We're going to be late for our reservations," she softly said. Still keeping her between him and the wall he leaned down to kiss her again.

"How about we skip dinner and just stay here instead," he whispered into her ear as he moved to kiss her neck. Laughing, Izuka pushed against him once again, this time effectively gaining space between their bodies. With it her ability to think clearly returned. Katsuki was close to like a drug to her, one she never grew an immunity to. Reaching out Izuka took his hand tugging him toward the door.

"The night is still young. Right now I want to go out with my husband and enjoy dinner." Katsuki smirked as he followed along allowing her to lead him away.

"Then when we get home I can enjoy dessert."

Walking through their front door Izuka giggled as she reached up to wipe away the snow from Katsuki's hair. Leaning down he allowed her to do so with a passive expression on his face.

"How did you enjoy tonight?" he asked her in a low voice.

"I wish we could do it more often," she said, a little guilty. Earlier feelings of not making enough time for him came back to her. Blinking, he studied her face, his head cocked to the side as he allowed the bond to freely tell him what she was feeling. Biting her lip she thought it was unfair he had easy access to it, she constantly blared her emotions to him without meaning too. He had gotten better at only allowing them to flow through the bond when he wanted them to.

"You shouldn't feel guilty about how little we've been able to see each other recently," he said after a few moments of silence. "Work has been demanding of both of us."

"Still, I really have missed you. I want to see you more than in passing or while you sleep."

"We'll make it happen," he said, simply while guiding her over to their tree. Leaning down he picked up her present and handed it over to her. Excited, she took the present and slowly began to rip into it. It was a small box, normal in appearance, causing her to gaze curiously before slowly opening it. A gasp left her lips as she let out a small excited laugh.

"Oh, you didn't!" Pulling out the necklace she gazed adoringly at the cute hello kitty pendant version of All Might. Clutching it close to her chest she threw herself at Katsuki. "I love it, Kacchan!" Patting gently at her back he allowed the corner of his lips to tilt up.

"You always like the simple shit," he said. Kissing him quickly in thanks she reached down for her gift to him. Picking it up she silently handed the Christmas bag to him. Her face had gone blank, worry leaking back through the happiness. He picked up on her apprehension and reached out to grab at the bag.

Taking one last look at her face he slowly opened it up by pulling apart the tape taking into account her feelings. He kept his face carefully blank as he peeked inside, wondering what would cause her such worry. A flicker of surprise, before confusion, settled over his features before fading away to his normal passiveness. His crimson eyes snapped up to meet her emerald before carefully reaching into the bag to pull out the All Might bear, and onesie.

"What is this?" he asked carefully. His voice gave nothing away as he sought out his answers. Her only knowledge of what he was feeling being the ones that slipped through the bond. She sensed confusion, trepidation, but deeper down excitement, and amazement. Nodding she bit her lip as she hesitantly began to hope for the best. "A-are you? Does this mean?" He didn't seem to be able to say what he was feeling, but that was alright because the emotions through the bond had begun to grow brighter.

"Yes," she said with a smile slowly growing on her face. "I found out earlier today. I'm about a month along." His body seemed to unfreeze as he placed the objects down on the counter. In one step he cleared the space between them before hesitantly reaching out. His fingers brushed against her flat stomach as wonder, pride, and happiness flooded the bond.

"You're pregnant," he said, needing to say it, to have it confirmed with those exact words. Izuka nodded again as he pressed his whole palm against her stomach. Her hand came up to cover his own as the smile on her face now split her features into two.

"Yes! Kacchan, I'm pregnant. We're going to have a baby! We'll be parents!" Keeping his hand on her stomach he leaned over her to capture her lips with his own.

"I'm going to be a father." His voice shook, but she wasn't worried. The bond was full of sunshine, and happiness, and she knew that she had nothing to worry about all along.

"Merry Christmas, Kacchan," she whispered as their hands stayed connected over the life growing inside her body.

"Merry Christmas, Koneko." He kissed the top of her head.
