Ben's eyes flung open to reality. He quickly sat up, took in his surroundings.
He looked at a clock on the wall...
" 7 AM.."
He groaned.. Ben loved sleep. He enjoyed that back at home, though he woke up very early on some occasions.
' Well, this is another universe... and it's a Monday for that matter. So I need to b...'
He stopped his thoughts. That look of realisation etched on his face.
" It's Monday" Ben said, quickly getting up.
He quickly went to the calendar to check if he was wrong..
" IT'S MONDAY!!" Ben yelled.
"I.. I recall everything!!" Ben said with shock all over his person. Paradox did the trick. It all felt like ten seconds.
" Last night I lost to Cap for the umpteenth time in sparring" He began to mention..

He looked at Ship's section of the room.
He wasn't there.
" Of course he's not there" Ben said yelling and laughing.
" He slept in Nat's room" Ben was so astonished..
" This is amazing" Ben said looking at his hands " My life, for the past five years, whipped past me, but I remember everything!!" Ben said now looking out the huge window with his hands on his head and a pair of boxers on.
He couldn't believe it. Everything. For five years. In his head... but it all happened in less than ten seconds.
" I told you" Ben put his hand down once he heard that voice..
that British voice..
" Paradox,.. how?" Ben said, finally turning around.
Paradox walked closer "You won't understand. All you need to know is that today, is the day"
Ben was now curious " The day that what?"
"UH KID.. YOU MIGHT WANNA HEAD DOWN TO THE LOBBY. WE GOT COMPANY".
Steve's voice boomed through the speaker in his room.
"Company?!" Ben said wondering why someone would visit them. "Why would there be.." This question was meant for Paradox,
but Paradox was gone.
"Classic.." Ben said annoyed. He then took out a black shirt from the wardrobe in his room, and a pair of blue jeans, put them on and sprinted to the lobby.

"Scott" Steve said
" Are you okay?"
Scott who was an average heighted man was pacing around in the lobby, talking silently, to himself.
"Okay guys what do we got?" Ben said as he just walked in and laid eyes on Scott.
" Oh, hi" He said, not knowing who Scott was.
Scott looked at Ben in surprise. "New recruit?" he asked
"Recruit, yes. New, no" Nat responded. "He's been here for five years."
"Hmm.. Anyway, have anyone of you ever studied quantum physics?" Scott asked with a serious look on his face.
Ben raised an eyebrow..
"Kinda" He said, causing Steve and Nat to look at him confused.
" What?" He said smiling.
"Well, five years ago, right before.. Thanos" Scott explained.. " I was in a place called the Quantum Realm"
Ben widened his eyes... " Really?!!" He said pulling himself off the wall he was leaning on.
"Yeah" Scott replied.
" Is it like the nullvoid?" Ben asked in curiosity. Nat looked at him again and Steve face palmed.
" Seriously Ben?" Nat said.
Ben immediately leaned back on the wall..
"Sorry bro, carry on" He said with a looked that said ' gotta behave before she eats me with her eyes'.
Scott closed his eyes in frustration, then opened them and continued.
" The quantum realm is like it's own microscopic universe. To get in there you'll have to be incredibly small."
Ben nodded. This was just fascinating. Never knew it was even possible to do that.
" Hope, she's my uu.." Scott stopped himself. " She wa.. she was my uhh.." He began stammering.
He loved Hope. He felt like after that kiss, they were a thing... but to say it to these dudes, nahh.
" She, sh..She was supposed to pull me out, but then Thanos happened and I got stuck in there" He finally finished
" I'm sorry it must've been a very long five years" Nat said
" Yeah but that's just it, it wasn't.
For me it was just five hours"
Ben pulled himself off the wall but this time he was wasn't gonna say anything, just wanted to listen closely to what next he was gonna say.
"You see the rules of the quantum realm aren't like they are up here. Everything is unpredictable.. Is that anybody's sandwich?" Scott said as he walked super fast past Cap and widow towards the table where the sandwich was on
" I'm starving"
he said as he picked up the sandwich and began to devour it.
" So wait.. What exactly is your point?" Ben said in complete confusion.
" Scott, what are you talking about?" Steve asked
"Soww.." Scott muffled as he chewed on the sandwich, then took time to swallow a bit of it before continuing
"What I'm saying is; Time works differently in the quantum realm. The only problem is, we don't have a way to navigate it." He said as he began pacing around.
" But what if we did?" He added, " I can't stop thinking about it, what if we could somehow control the chaos and navigate it.. What if there was someway we could enter the quantum realm at a certain point in time, and exit the quantum realm at another point in time?! Like.." He stopped to swallow a piece of the sandwich he was chewing
" Like before Thanos?" Ben added for him.
Ben understood exactly what he was trying to say.
" Exactly.." Scott said, pointing at Ben " Exactly.. that's what I'm tryna say"
Cap and Nat looked at each other, beginning to get the point.
"Wait..." Cap stopped him "Are you talking about a time machine?"
Ben looked at Scott, waiting to hear his response
" No. Of course not, no not a time machine. It's more like a.." Scott stopped trying to look for a different name
" It's a time machine bro" Ben just concluded for Scott.
" No.. it's a

Yeah, it's a time machine." Scott admitted
" I know it's crazy, it's crazy. I... But I can't stop thinking about it, there's gotta be.. some wh.." Scott realized that this was nearly impossible
" It's crazy" he gave up.
" Scott" Nat called him " I get emails from a raccoon so, nothing sounds crazy anymore"
" Oh you're lucky Rocket isn't around to hear that" Ben chuckled
" So who do we talk to about this?" Scott asked them
"I think I know someone" Nat said.
Ben and Cap looked at her
" You're not thinking Tony are you?" Cap said concerned.
" Tony?!!" Ben said in surprise " There's no way in hell he's.."
" No" Nat said, cutting Ben off. " No not Tony"
Ben raised an eyebrow, " then who?"
" Yeah, who?" Scott asked " Cus as far as I know, he's just about the smartest guy in the world"
Cap looked at Nat. Nat smiled a little.

The Task
Two powerful forces pierced through the air at unbelievable speed..
one carrying an aura of light, the other carrying nothing but force and will.
They were both headed to one place..

Bruce's house.
"Okay so why are we here?"
Carol asked as they stopped and set eyes on the residence of the Batman, from a fair distance. A luxurious house perched on a hill near a river with a beautiful view of nature and all its glory. Carol had been here already, and she knows that the team has left already.
"I need to know what Bruce is up to" Clark replied without looking at her.
" I was with him." Carol said " and the rest of the team"
" Well, you have their plans well laid in your head?" Clark said finally looking at her.
Carol loved his eyes.. but she sure as hell wasn't gonna show it.
"Well," She said " I do know that they're.."
" Master Kent!"
Both of them in mid air turned around to see who called.
They both recognized him
" Alfred" Clark smiled
" Yeah, apparently" Carol said as they both descended to meet Alfred.
" He knew you'd come" Alfred said with a smile.
Clark smiled back a little.. " Good to see you Alfred." He said
" Well, I see you talked him back to his senses" Alfred said to Carol.
" I have my ways" She said proudly.. Until she realized what that sounded like and widened her eyes a little.
Clark let out a small giggle. " So what exactly is Bruce up to?"
" Well, Master Wayne and his, gang of superheroes, are thinking of penetrating the wall of Steppenwolf's dome, because that seems like the only way to get in." Alfred explained
" The cyborg is the only one there who can separate the boxes, but from what I learnt he's gonna need a lot of energy for that. That's when the speedster comes in"
" The speedster will run around the place, create as much electricity as possible around him, then charge towards the cyborg and transfer that electricity to him, supplying him enough to separate the boxes"
Alfred finished
Carol was impressed " So Bruce came up with this idea before they left?"
" No, before they even geared up. He discussed it with me in the batcave"
Carol was even more impressed, but being impressed wasn't the task at hand.
" So what are we waiting for?" Clark said as he looked at Carol.
Carol grinned
" Let's go get this son of a bitch" She said as they both turned around to burst out through the open door into the sky..

.but then they remembered Alfred was close..

Clark stopped himself, along with Carol, then they both turned to Alfred.
" What? I've survived a bomb explosion before" He said
" Nah I don't think so" Carol said as she proceeded to walk out of the house first, so did Clark.
" Are you calling me a liar?" Alfred said with a raised brow.
" I think she is" Clark said, as he and Carol had reached the outside.
" You want me to show you the scars and stitches?" Alfred said
Carol turned her head in shock to look at Alfred
" No thank you!" Carol said and then with a Sonic boom, both heroes headed to Russia

Okay, there was a delay in the update, but you gotta admit, it wasn't like the last one.
Some of you might think this chapter is particularly short, which it obviously is especially Carol's part, but that's cus I don't wanna add the action with the buildup.
As always I and Ben are open to reviews and constructive criticism. If you don't like anything, say something.
Ben: Yeah, but don't say it to Carol. Especially if it has to do with her part of the story, so she does come for Ash's head here
