Frozen Lantern
Chapter 11
In the evening out at sea, a Swedish cargo ship is on route towards a port in Denmark. On the bridge of the ship, an officer is looking at his radar when he notices a large unknown ship approaching at the starboard side. He quickly grabs the phone and an alarm blares out throughout the ship. The crew quickly scrambles to their station. Entering the bridge was the captain of the ship.
"What's the situation?" He asks the officer.
"Sir, we have a radar contact approaching from the starboard side." He informed the captain.
"Send out a distress signal now!" The captain ordered.
The officer reaches to his radio before beginning to send out an SOS signal.
"Mayday! Mayday! This is the SS Enigma! We are-"
All of a sudden, giant arms begin wrapping around the ship. It begins crushing the entire vessel. The crew quickly scramble to the lifeboats to abandon the ship. Then something huge emerges from the ocean that shocks the whole crew. A large arrow-shaped monster with yellow eyes sees the crew before focusing on the Enigma. With its strength, the giant squid continues to crush the ship before all of a sudden, the entire ship explodes into flames. Fire lights up the dark sky which could be seen from the air. The captain and crew who were on the lifeboats could only watch as the blown ship burns before pieces of it begin slipping beneath the waves. The squid finally releases the pieces before vanishing into the ocean.
"My god..."
The captain and crew had just experienced a nightmarish encounter from the ocean depths.
[Later...]
Meanwhile, in Arendelle, Dante sleeps peacefully before a knock was heard. He slowly wakes up before reaching the door. He opens to see not only Gerda, nor Kai, not even Anna, but Elsa herself.
"Elsa? What are you doing here? It's after midnight?" Dante asks.
"Dante, I am getting lonely in my room. If you would sleep with me?" Elsa asks.
"Sure if you don't mind." Dante replied.
Just then a guard approaches the two of them.
"Forgive my intrusions, your majesty, but Lt Rayner, Captain Alvis needs you immediately." He said.
"Tell him I'll be right there." Dante said to the guard. He then turns to Elsa. "I will be back, Elsa."
"Please do my love." Elsa said before grabbing Dante's hands and places them on her rear. She wraps her arms around his neck before planting her lips against his.
They stay like this for a few minutes before parting. Elsa then leans into Dante's ear.
"I want to marry you, Dante. I really do." She whispered.
"I know." Dante said before letting Elsa go and leaves.
Dante leaves the castle to the military base where he sees the soldiers doing their duties. He sees Captain Alvis with a Private. He salutes to the captain.
"Reporting for duty sir." Dante said.
"At ease." Captain Alvis said, "We have a situation."
"What do we got, sir?" Dante asks.
"One of our aircraft has received an SOS signal from a Swedish cargo ship, Enigma 20 minutes ago." Alvis informed.
"Where is the signal?" Dante asks.
"17 miles north from Denmark. Only 4 sailors are dead, but the captain and the rest are alive. They have been picked up by the Royal Denmark Coast Guard." Alvis said pointing to the map on the table.
"How did it went down?"
"They said a giant squid or some sort."
"I thought they were just a myth, but I'll investigate tomorrow."
"You should, son. Thank you for coming. Sorry to bother you." Alvis said.
"Thank you, captain." Dante said before leaving the base and return to the castle. After returning to the castle, Dante goes to Elsa's room where the queen awaits.
"What happened?" Elsa asks as Dante sits next to her.
"I'm heading out tomorrow to investigate something." Dante replied.
"Take me with you." Elsa said.
"I'm sorry, Elsa. I will do this alone." Dante said.
Elsa then leans her forehead against Dante's. She wants to go with Dante.
"Dante, please come back." Elsa begged.
"I will, Elsa. Right now, come here." Dante said before grabbing her and kiss. Elsa and Dante fell on the bed continue kissing.
[Next morning]
Dante, in his Green Lantern uniform, flies to investigate the incident that happened last night. He reaches to site where the ship went down before he dives into the ocean. He reaches to the wreckage on the ocean floor before using his ring. He scans the ship before he notices parts of the ship bent like paper. He sees the bridge before heading inside. He sees the control council before he uses his ring to collect data. Once the data is complete, he leaves the ship before he decides to visit the captain of the ship.
Meanwhile back at Arendelle...
"So Dante just left?" Anna asks.
She and her sister Elsa are at the dining hall, having breakfast.
"He said he is investigating something involves a ship." Elsa said.
"Oh. He will be back will he?" Anna asks.
"He will. Anna, promise me not to tell anyone, but I want to be with him forever. I want him to be my husband." Elsa said.
Anna gasps with some excitement, "You're saying Dante wants to marry you?"
Elsa nods in reply.
"Oh, finally! I can't wait to be the bridesmaid! When did he asks you?"
"Last night. Ever since our first kiss." Elsa said.
"Wait! Did you-"
"Yes, Anna. We are now a couple. Now if you excuse me. I think I should go practice with my ring" Elsa said before leaving the table. Then Kai and Gerda approach Anna.
"Is something bothering you, dear?" Gerda asks.
"No. Elsa has finally found her true love." Anna replied.
"I see that the true love is Dante." Kai said.
"Yes. Yes he is," Anna said.
Meanwhile, not far from Arendelle, three Yellow Lanterns oversee the kingdom. They are preparing for something terrible.
