I was in a coma for a few months because Season 7 of The Flash was so ungodly and unwatchably horrendous that I needed to be unconscious for a bit before I permanently went insane. I am seeing a therapist every day to get the horrors of that season's writing out of my head.

...But okay, seriously, it was bad.

The Mind Stone glowed intensely, floating an inch above Amora's hand as it did so. To see this object, of such great power, in the hands of two wretched warriors who had nothing but sinister intentions and selfish desires.

Athena and Heimdall were occupied, fending off the legions of troops that were heading their way. Athena slashed at them again and again with a sword, while Heimdall thrusted his lance against them, piercing their rotten flesh again and again. That left the others to deal with Amora and Ares.

Wonder Woman raised her sword up and flew over to Amora, swinging it down towards her chest. But the enchantress teleported in a flash, and the Amazon's blade slashed at thin air. Then Wonder Woman felt a backhand to her head, and she spiraled into a wall.

When she turned around, she saw Thor and Donna Troy charging at Ares, their swords firmly gripped in their hands, while Artemis and Loki – who had shapeshifted into a giant falcon – rushed towards Amora. Unfortunately, the God of War had anticipated their attack. Ares grabbed Thor by his long hair and slammed his head into the Norse god's, before elbowing Donna in the chest and kneeing her. Amora shot out green energy blasts towards Artemis, and then grabbed Loki's falcon form by his neck, spined around, and tossed him down onto the ground.

Ares clasped his hands together and slammed them into Donna's face. Then he pulled out a sword and swiped it left-and-right at Thor's chests, before he pierced it directly into Thor's leg. Then he delivered a quick uppercut to the Odinson, causing the latter to grunt loudly as a trickle of blood dripped from the Asgardian's lips. When Donna tried to blindside Ares by slashing his back with her sword, Ares whirled around sharply to counterattack. Jets of fire burst from his hands and Donna was caught off guard by Ares suddenly switching tactics from close combat to attacking with ranged magical energy. She cried out as the mystical flames seared her skin.

Wonder Woman looked between Ares and Amora. Amora was moving golden waves around with her hand, with its exact tint perfectly matching that of the Mind Stone. Artemis went over to her and kneed her in the stomach, followed by Loki taking a massive bite out of her shoulder. Wonder Woman was caught between who to attack first, and she made her decision when she pulled out her lasso and swung it towards Amora. She dashed over to her and headbutted her in the face before striking her in the stomach and then at the neck. When she tried to throw one more punch, Amora's hands glowed and she uttered an incantation. Suddenly, green energy bonds wrapped around Wonder Woman, binding her in a mystical vice.

She smirked, tilting her head. "You know, when I first heard of you, I wondered if you would steal Thor's heart away," she began as she projected out another energy blast that sent Wonder Woman back. "Not that he ever loved me back. But you're so bewitchingly attractive, that I couldn't help but feel jealous."

Wonder Woman sneered, gritting her teeth. "If you're really acting this way out of unrequited love for Thor, then your vanity truly knows no bounds."

"It's not just that! It's also the constant humiliation I have suffered over the years, at the hands of Thor and his allies!"

Meanwhile, Ares was growing and growing in size. It was one of his abilities that mainly manifested when war was rife. He was already twice his original size. "I, too, tire of the bitter taste of defeat! I tire of being just as reviled as I was during the time of Ancient Greece!"

But whilst Ares was monologuing, Thor bashed the God of War in the head with his hammer. Then he cracked Mjolnir into Ares' stomach, sending the Olympian crashing to the ground. "You did nothing to earn the Greeks' admiration, and you've done no such deeds since then!"

Ares grabbed Thor, enveloping him within his enlarged hand, and strained himself as he tried to crush the God of Thunder with his hands. "Then these pathetic mortals will fear me! After Asgard and Olympus fall, where you think Amora and I will go? And if the gods can be made to destroy themselves, so can Earth's so called mightiest heroes!"

But then Athena swooped in and delivered a roundhouse kick to Ares' unguarded leg, which was followed by Heimdall piercing his lance directly into Ares' chest. And with that, Thor was able to break free from the God of War's grip. Lightning began to emit from Mjolnir, and moments later, the Odinson directed this lighting from his hammer right into Ares' face. Ares, roaring in pain, shrank in size. And as he did this, Donna went over to him, grabbing him by his helmet and delivering a jab, cross, and hook combination to her half-brother.

With Ares occupied, Wonder Woman turned her attention back to Amora. Loki, still in his falcon form, swiped her in the face with his massive claws, an act that was followed by Artemis thrusting her sword into the enchantress' leg. Amora cursed at the pain she must've been feeling. Wonder Woman flew over to her and elbowed her in the stomach before swinging her fist up towards Amora's chin. Amora fired more of her energy blasts towards Diana and Artemis force them away. When Loki flew down towards her, she created a circular shield around herself to deflect his blows. Wonder Woman and Artemis, gritting their teeth, sped over to the portal and began pummeling the barrier repeatedly, until it broke open. Then Diana yanked Amora's hair and delivered her a headbutt, while Loki used his talons to claw her face once more.

"Enough is enough!" Amora cried out.

Then her eyes began to glow a bright yet sinister green, and green fire began to emit all around her. Amora began to glow with an emerald hue. Wonder Woman, Artemis, and Loki all exchanged glances with one another, processing what was happening, before charging over to interrupt Amora's attack. But then Amora extended her hands, releasing a wave of green energy throughout the entire area.

Moments later, Wonder Woman slowly regained her bearings, finding herself drifting through the sky alongside all her other allies. Then a green chain began to form around her, and before she knew it, she was in chains once more, along with Donna, Thor, Athena, Heimdall, and Loki. The latter had been reverted back to his humanoid form.

Artemis flew over, only for Enchantress to tap her forehead. A yellow glow insinuated, and Artemis groaned. She was just floating there now, with a dark glare across her face.

Then she smirked. "Let's go to Asgard, shall we?"

A rainbow light encompassed everyone's vision for a few moments. And once the rainbow light ceased, everyone was now in Asgard, where the battle was still taking place. Little had changed. The city was still in flames as soldiers from both sides screamed war cries and crossed blades, axes, and lances with one another. Both Asgardians and Olympians had the ability to fight without tiring or exhausting for days, weeks, or even months if necessary. Zeus and Odin were still locked in combat, the former showcasing his endurance that allowed him to combat the legendary foe Typhon for over 10,000 years. Zeus generated lighting from his hands and shot it towards Odin, who deflected it with his lance. Then Odin proceeded to thrust his lance towards Zeus' chest. Zeus grabbed Odin's lance and yanked it out of his hands, Then Zeus slammed it against his own knee, snapping it into two.

Hades, Poseidon, Hercules, and Hippolyta stood on one side of the Bifrost. The Warriors Three, Lady Sif, Valkyrie, and Frigga stood on the opposite side. They drew their weapons out against one another and bellowed as they charged at one another.

Artemis swooped down onto the scene, pulling her sword out as she descended upon the chaos.

Ares shook his head, smirking. "Look at them. Such fools. So easily manipulated by the Mind Stone into believing what we want them to."

Amora grinned. "Oh yes. We didn't need to utilize much of the Mind Stone's power to start this war. Asgardians ache for combat, while Olympians desire petty theater and drama. All they needed was a little push, and look what happened."

Wonder Woman squirmed to break free of the chains, just like the rest were. She felt Heimdall's back opposite her own, with Thor and Loki both side-by-side with her. Then she perked up, clenching her teeth over to Loki.

"Shapeshift into a mouse or a robin or something!" she uttered.

Loki winced, looking down at the ground. "I…I can't! Somehow these chains are blocking my magic!"

"We can't use magic to break out this!" Athena barked out. "But if we combine our strength and push together, we can break out of these chains!"

Heimdall grunted. "She's right! Everyone, try to break free! Now!"

Before the imprisoned gods and goddesses attempted to break their chains, Thor nodded his head towards the villains. The others glanced around to find what Thor wanted them to see, and it was only then that they noticed the Mind Stone. It had been teleported over to Asgard with them. Somehow, Amora had connected her magic to the power of that Infinity Stone. So all they had to do was take out Amora and her spell could be broken. Though, given the glow around the Mind Stone was the same colour as Amora's aura, they both thought that the Stone's power was now so intertwined with Amora's that they would have to take her out permanently to do so.

That was their mistake. Focusing on both of their foes.

Moments, later, they broke free of the chains. Thor and Wonder Woman both pointed their weapons over towards Amora, and they flew over towards her, ignoring Ares completely. Athena, Heimdall, Donna Troy, and Loki all did the same. They all attacked Amora simultaneously. Wonder Woman, Athena, and Donna all slashed at Amora with their blades, while Thor bashed her around with his hammer and Heimdall stabbed at her with his lance. When Ares flew up towards them and tried to intervene, Thor raised Mjolnir and struck him in the chin. Athena kneed Ares in the chest while Heimdall delivered a swinging kick to his stomach. While they did this, the other four all kept their attention onto Amora. All she could do in that moment was snarl and bark at them as they overwhelmed her.

Then, finally, Loki impaled Amora in the stomach with his spear. Amora stopped struggling. She was bleeding all over, and now her mouth was agape as she stumbled throughout the air, coughing. She turned her attention over to Thor.

"Why…why couldn't you love me…"

And then The Enchantress' final breath escaped from her lungs, before all life within her ceased.

Thor did sport a frown on his face. Amora had been a foe of his for eons, long before he even crossed paths with Wonder Woman and any of the other Vanguardians, but once she had been a childhood friend of his, perhaps something more if not for Lady Sif. Yet here she lay as as still as the golden statues of Asgard, lifeless and unmoving.

Shortly after Amora's death, the screaming of warriors and the clanging of weapons came to a halt. Odin and Zeus, within an instant of delivering the final blow to one another, stopped. They looked at one another, their mouths agape. Frigga gasped while Hippolyta buried her face into her hand. The Warriors Three exchanged regrets amongst themselves, Hercules gritted his teeth, Hades released a heavy sigh, and Poseidon stomped his foot onto the ground. The other Gods and soldiers all looked around each other as well.

"What have we done?!" Valkyrie stated, raising her arms up into the air. "How could we have let ourselves be so easily manipulated!"

Hercules, his hands forming into fists, snarled. "Ares must be behind this somehow, I know it! I'll crush his head into a million chunks, with my bare hands!"

Everyone gathered around in agreement, some raising their weapons up into the air while others cried out for the blood of the Olympian God of War. Wonder Woman, Thor, Donna, Loki, Heimdall, and Athena all levitated down to the ground. When everyone turned their heads and took notice of them, some of them began cheering in the air. Shouts of "Athena lives!" and "Heimdall is alive!" rippled through the air. Zeus and Odin walked up the pair of six.

Then there was a crash on the Bifrost. It was Ares. And before he could get up, Athena charged down, pressing her foot onto his chest. Heimdall also levitated down to the ground, holding his lance up towards Ares' throat. When Ares tried to get up, he was cornered when all the warriors of the two realms stormed over to him, circling the God of War.

"No…no, this can't…" was all that Ares uttered.

Odin turned his attention over to the four heroes. "Thank you. Thank you, my sons, and thank you, Amazons, for saving us from ourselves. We offer you only our upmost gratitude."

Hippolyta then walked over to the four. "Once again, Diana and Donna, you have made me unimaginably proud. And now…"

She turned her head over, looking at the Mind Stone, which was but a speck in the distance now, floating in the same spot it had been before.

"And now we will leave the safeguarding of the Mind Stone to you."

The war was finally over, and Olympus and Asgard were at peace once more. Thor, Wonder Woman, Loki, and Donna Troy all stood directly outside the Vanguard Tower, the sky cloudless and the sun shining brightly over New York City.

In the golden orb was the Mind Stone. One of six such 'Stones' that could tamper with the very fabric of the universe itself. And Ares and Amora, for all their divine might, only utilized a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of its power. They could've used it to bring Olympus and Asgard under their complete control, to make the gods bow before them and use them as their army with which to reign over the mortal realm with an iron fist. But they were so caught up in their hatred, their desire to see both realms fall, that they chose to use it to bring about the fall of Zeus and Odin.

The Stone disappeared from Thor's eyes as Donna closed the box that now held the powerful object.

"Alright, let's get this ready for the Vanguard Tower," Donna stated as she locked up the box for what seemed like a dozen times over.

Thor raised his hand up. "Halt, Donna. We will not be taking the Mind Stone to the Vanguard Tower."

Donna raised an eyebrow, looking over to her sister to nonverbally beg her for assurance. "Mind explaining why? It's one of the safest places to keep the damn thing, don't you think?"

"Thor's right," Wonder Woman said, walking closer to the two. "We already have the Power Stone kept in the Vanguard Tower, remember? Now, let's see…who will take the Mind Stone?"

"I will."

It was a deep, gravelly voice that Wonder Woman had not heard in ages. And even then, she had only heard it once or twice. She turned around and saw him float down towards them riding his Astro-Harness. This was Orion, the Dog of War. Son of Darkseid, ruler of the fiery hellhole Apokolips, but an adopted resident and defender of its twin world, the spring-like utopia New Genesis.

He was a bulky and muscular man who came up to around Thor's eye level. He wore red armor all cross his body, with cerulean gloves and boots and an azure belt. And on his head was a shiny silver helmet that gleamed like the sun. His face bore an unwelcome scowl, and he growled as he walked over to the four.

"Well if it isn't Highfather's personal guard dog," Loki said mockingly, extending his arms out. "My, oh my, has it been ages since we've crossed paths."

Orion bared his teeth and formed a fist with his hand. "If you value your tongue, I suggest you keep quiet, before I yank it out of your mouth. Again."

Loki stepped back, rolling his eyes and frowning as he did so.

Orion then cleared his throat. "Rumor has it that Thanos traveled to Apokolips to speak with Darkseid. I do not know how they would benefit from cooperating with one another, and the source wasn't the most reliable, but I do know that nothing good could come from that. At least one of the Infinity Stones needs to be under the protection of New Genesis."

Thor nodded over to Wonder Woman. He had drawn his hammer against the Dog of War once, under complicated and dire circumstances. One of the most pulse-pounding, heart-thumping, sweat-breaking battles of his entire life. Orion may have detested Darkseid, but he still possessed the Apokolipian ruler's might and fury.

And to that end, Wonder Woman walked over to Orion, and handed him the box containing one of the most powerful objects in the universe. Orion grunted and scowled as he yanked the box away from the Amazonian's hands.

"You have done yourselves a favor by giving me the stone," Orion growled, before tapping a button on his glove and opening up what was called a Boom Tube. Boom Tubes were how Orion's people traveled to other worlds in an instant. They whirled out yellow energy all around as it formed a golden sphere and when one was opened, it sounded like a terrible thunderclap had struck the Earth.

Orion turned around to return to New Genesis, but then he looked over his shoulder to face the others. "Watch your backs, and make sure your realms aren't fooled into trying to destroy one another. If that kind of nonsense happens again, the universe may not be strong enough to fend off the combined forces of Thanos and Darkseid. Do keep that in mind, for everyone's sake."

And with that, Orion stepped into the Boom Tube, and the whirling ceased as the portal shrank and dissipated into nothingness.

Donna shook her head. "Well, that was certainly…unexpected. But Darkseid…and Thanos…united…"

The wind blowing through the air felt much less welcoming than it had just moments before. Thor looked up into the air, gazing at the vast cosmos that lied beyond Midgard's realm of existence. Somewhere, countless miles away, was Darkseid's domain, where he reigned supreme with an iron fist as a plethora of souls burned and screamed before his feet. And Thanos cut a bloody path across the universe in pursuit of Lady Death herself. What could they gain from joining forces? But yet, nothing was to be ruled out of the realm of possibility in today's world, anymore.

Thor felt a hand on his shoulder, and he jumped. But it was only Wonder Woman, her face etched into a frown.

"Thor, I do understand that this is indeed grim news," she began, letting go of Thor and relaxing her own shoulders. "I will alert the Amazons. You must alert the Asgardians. And we will both share this knowledge with the rest of the Vanguard. But this is all we can do for now. We have no reliable information about the coming threat, so the best course of action is to remain cautious and stay vigilant/that is all we can do for now, is to take caution and to warn our friends and comrades of what could be coming."

To her point, Orion's source was evidently not the most reliable in the world.

Thor nodded. "I can agree to that, Diana."

Then he smiled. "It's ironic, isn't it? Remember our conversation in the Vanguard Tower, right before all of this happened?"

Wonder Woman nodded. "I most certainly do. I can lend you my copy of The Dog in the Night-Time if you feel like you desire a break from all of this."

Thor scoffed. "Ha! Me, need a break! I thought you knew me better than that!"

He looked over to see his brother rolling his eyes and throwing his hands up into the air. He turned around and began to walk away. "I try not be an evil megalomaniac anymore but helping to prevent a war between our two realms was a tad draining. I'm going to go rest up for a couple of days."

And with that, Loki snapped his fingers, and a flash of green light teleported him away.

Donna was just standing there, watching Loki depart, when a signal device held firmly on her belt began to vibrate. She grabbed the device and tapped into it; it was her means of communicating with her own superhero team, the Titans.

"It looks like the Titans need my help with a situation. And that new team, the Champions, are involved as well. Thor, it was nice seeing you again. Diana, let's meet again before another war breaks out."

Wonder Woman walked over to her sister and embraced her before Donna flew off. Thor began to ponder what he should do at that very moment. He didn't want to laze around like Loki was evidently planning to do, but he also didn't want to jump into another war straight away. Perhaps he could do what the demigoddess was doing, and help out with some charities or guest star on some shows. He smiled at the thought of poor children running over to greet him as he flew down to quell their needs.

Then Wonder Woman tapped his shoulder. "Kal and Stark just got ahold of me on my earpiece. Cheetah has appeared again, and is on the loose somewhere in Central America. I can probably handle her on my own, but if you want to clear your mind, you're welcome to come with."

That could work, too.

Thor smiled. "Aye!" he stated, swinging his hammer upwards, his smile now morphing into a grin.
