The London and North Eastern Railway Engines
After a hard day's work and being Saddled with Goods trains Silver Returned to the Sheds hoping to get some rest. The sheds that Silver was going to were in the London and North Eastern Section of the Kalos Railway and as he was the leader of those engines that meant that he was usually the first one up and the last one down.
Silver was in deep thought as he continued puffing and his Driver noticed.
Silver's Driver: You okay? Usually you're more stable than this.
Silver: Honestly, I'm not.
Silver's Driver: It's about Duchess Corrinne huh? I'm not surprised she's been in a foul mood. I haven't seen her this pissed off since the time Malcom screwed up badly.
Silver's Fireman: I know. Manager had to switch Malcom for Edwin who was on the Southern Section of the Kalos Railway while Mary had to take the passengers and she nearly flopped at it. If it wasn't for Princess Aurora stepping up to the plate and rallying the other LMS Locomotives to help teach Mary and rallying the fleet to cover for Malcom's mess we would've had an even bigger mess on our hands than that.
Silver: And then we would've had to call Duchess Corrinne back from her visit in China when she was helping Yong Bao Train the Chinese Engines to pull passengers and at the rate things keep going I may have to have a word with the BR Standard Classes and our other guests about the subject on what to do.
Silver's Driver: And Lord Arcanon somehow
By the time Silver arrived at the Sheds of the London and North Eastern Section of the Kalos Railway, Colby, Bret, and Biff were already up and about waiting for him and so were the other engines that were built by the London and North Eastern Railway. Silver had backed into his spot in the sheds before Bret spoke up.
Bret: Don't tell me let me guess. Duchess Corrinne's still in a foul mood?
Silver: (Confused) How'd you know?
Bret: You forget that Ezekiel, Gervase, Gideon, myself and the BR Standard Classes can freely move about the Kalos Railway.
Colby: and by BR Standard classes he means myself, Gabrielle, Penelope, and Biff.
The Locomotives in question looked at Silver and they knew full well that Duchess Corrinne was pissed off considering that they were based upon LMS Locomotive Designs they also knew that Duchess Corrinne trusted them the most.
Gabrielle was a BR Standard Class 5 meant for mixed traffic duties but she usually worked goods trains alongside the LNER's resident Mixed Traffic and goods engines.
Penelope was a BR Standard Class 2 Mogul and was mainly built for mixed traffic duties yet on the LNER she spent her time doing goods trains.
Silver: Gabrielle, Penelope. This is a surprise. I thought you'd be elsewhere tonight.
Gabrielle: What you were expecting me to go check on Alolan Line and the Southern Engines? My brother Arturo's spending the night with them.
Penelope: And if you were expecting me to be in LMS Territory I'm afraid not. Besides I needed a word with Nicole, Natalie, Galleth, Perry, Kenan, and Nigel.
Bret: Not to mention I needed a word with Simon, and Mick about training Colby and about what's happened lately.
Silver looked to the right and noticed the Locomotives in question before the Ivatt C1 Small Boiler Atlantic with the name plates Nicole spoke first.
C1 Small Boiler Atlantic: If you lot ask me Corrinne's pissed off because Arcanon's causing shit to happen. Those that serve Duchess Corrinne's enemies need a good old-fashioned ass kicking.
C1 Large Boiler Atlantic: Nicole watch your language. Your potty mouth has gotten our section of the Kalos Railway in hot water multiple times.
Nicole: Natalie are you serious? I'm speaking the truth here.
Natalie: I agree with that but the problem is that you curse like a sailor on leave.
Nicole: I transported Sailors for the Navy.
At that point a Great Central 8K Consolidation had heard everything and was getting annoyed.
Great Central 8K: Would you please shut your mouths. Some of us are trying to come up with a suitable plan to make sure that Arcanon does not cause another mass locomotive shuffle on the Kalos Railway.
The LNER Thompson B1 that was parked next to the Great Central 8K also spoke up.
LNER Thompson B1: And I needn't remind you Nicole that it was your potty mouth that nearly caused this section of the Kalos Railway to fall apart which in turn allowed Lord Arcanon and the Crows to take over with a fleet of Lorries.
An LNER Class J50 Tank then spoke next..
LNER Class J50: Galleth and Perry are Right, Nicole. Fortunately, Typhoon was able to help Silver rally the fleet and Eric, Bull, Kelly, Simon, not to mention D.K. were able to step up and Chris helped out as well after being given some much needed modifications.
Nicole: I get it Nigel. I know which engines you're talking about. I don't need another lesson on how not to fuck up. Tempest already gives me enough of those.
Natalie: It seems to me that you do. Fortunately, you're an Ivatt Atlantic which means that a lot of engines can fill in for you but unfortunately your reputation as the foulest mouth of the London and North Eastern has gotten us into some serious hot water.
Nicole: Yeah but as much as my rep has gotten us into hot water my tomboyish personality has also gotten us out of hot water as well. Ask the Engines that Nigel just mentioned.
Natalie knew full well that the Locomotives that Nigel mentioned were a Peppercorn A2, a Gresley V3, an LNER V4, an LNER Peppercorn K1, a North Eastern T1, an LNER Gresley K4 and a Peppercorn A1 respectively and aside from Typhoon and Tempest they were built to handle mixed traffic or freight duties. Currently the locomotives in question were all in the shops getting some repairs for the time being where s some that weren't mentioned like the resident LNER Class K4, DK and the resident LNER Thompson class L1 Chriswere present.
Silver: Regardless we still need to step up and that means I'll need Kenan to help out.
Kenan the resident Gresley V2 spoke up.
Kenan: No problem. I'll do what I can to help but we'll need somebody who worked with the Black Fives in Scotland.
Perry: I can handle that. I have a way with words and I might be able to get Sophia, Greg, and Blaine to speak up though I have heard from my siblings back in the United Kingdom that the only way to get Jen out of Chantal's thumb for good is to get her voted out of her position as CEO of Payne Industries.
Galleth: It won't be easy. From what the GWR and LMS Consolidations can tell me that is a nearly impossible task.
Bret: Maybe not. According to the bylaws that Noah was able to get hold of Duchess Corrinne is the one who can choose who becomes CEO of Payne Industries and from what Jake and Noah told me she never had Chantal in mind for the CEO. Her husband's older brother was supposed to get the job.
Natalie: I know I'm asking the obvious but would I be correct in assuming that you have a plan?
Bret: You are correct and I do have a plan. Well, Silver, Galleth, Perry and I came up with the plan. We need to get this knowledge to Duchess Corrinne at once. Which means, Biff, Colby, Penelope or myself will have to pay a visit to the Kalos Railway's LMS section to see her.
Nicole: Why not ask Abigail? Among the BR standard class engines she is the closest to Duchess Corrinne and she's the newly minted Leader of the BR Standard Class Engines.
Perry: That would be too obvious. Abigail is already publicly known as Duchess Corrinne's Right hand engine if we send her out Arcanon is sure to blast her half to scrap.
Galleth: And considering how pissed off Corrinne is at Silver for Union of South Africa's Treason, she'll see to it that all of us are gonna get even worse than what Silver's suffering as we speak.
Natalie: Are you serious?
Bret: Yep. Which is why I'll have to go see Duchess Corrinne. Hopefully this plan works and gets King Elgar, Silver Streak, and Alolan Line out of the dog house and back on Passengers so to speak.
Galleth: And hopefully do something about Nicole's foul mouth. She's been cursing up a storm about Arcanon, his organization, the Crows, Chantal Payne, Payne Industries and basically anyone and everyone who hates steam engines and has not only cursed them but cursed them out.
Perry: Galleth you may be right about Nicole's mouth but, in this case Nicole's right. We're gonna be busy tomorrow. We may as well try and get some shred of sleep tonight. We're all gonna need it and hopefully this plan will work.
The other engines agreed on that as they went to sleep with some hope knowing that their lives all depended upon Bret carrying out the first part of the plan that the fleet came up with. It wasn't much but it gave them a faint hope.
Natalie was sick and it was early next morning. The men worked hard but she wasn't getting better. By the time the sun rose Natalie felt just as crappy and Nigel had to go get the coaches. Natalie always pulled the first passenger train of the day and Nigel had to go get the coaches and Bret voiced his concerns.
Bret: Nigel you do know that if Natalie doesn't get better soon I may have take her train. I'll be at the platform waiting.
Nigel: You do know that you suck at pulling coaches right.
Bret: Yes but if they can't fix Natalie soon we'll have no choice.
Perry who hadn't left yet was in the sheds getting fired up.
Perry: Maybe I could take the train in Natalie's place instead. I know that my classmates aren't as kind to the passengers as the Gresley B17s are and that's not our fault it's how we were built even though I've tried to overcome this and I'm better with trucks and goods trains but if push comes to shove we may have no choice.
Nigel: Perry's right Bret. Besides we need you to go visit the LMS Engines anyway.
Bret: Very well but let's hope this works.
Bret left on that note as Nigel went to get the coaches.
By the time Nigel found coaches for the fleet Bret was at the platform waiting for his goods train while Perry was at the station incase as there was plenty of time as the people got in, the guard checked the watch, the stationmaster made sure everything was ready, the porters banged the doors but still Natalie didn't show up. The Kalos Controller arrived and wondered what was going on and the Guard and Stationmaster told him about Natalie.
Kalos Controller: If Natalie is sick then find another engine at once. We can't keep the passengers waiting and we may not be able to fix her.
Stationmaster: Well our options are limited. If we had an LNER B17 or a BR Standard class 5 it might be somewhat better but we don't and Arturo and Gabriella are away on goods trains.
Guard: And Bret's due to leave on a Goods Train for the LMS Section anyway so that leaves only Perry.
The Kalos Controller looked at Bret and Perry as Nigel showed up before speaking.
Kalos Controller: Nigel go get the cars ready for Kenan's freight train. Bret you and Perry better get going. I'll be having a word with you and the rest of the London and North Eastern Locomotives this evening.
Nigel, Bret, and Perry headed out to their respective tasks knowing full well that they and the rest of London and North Eastern Locomotives would be getting a visit from the Kalos Controller.
Perry was taking Natalie's passenger train which meant that Biff was saddled with his goods train.
Perry had arrived at the border of the Kalos Railway's London and North Eastern Section where he found Claire the Kalos Railway's resident Jubilee.
Claire: Perry what are you doing here? Usually I'm expecting to see Nicole or Natalie.
Perry: Nicole's busy elsewhere and Natalie's sick. In fact I was hoping to run into you. I've got information that can help Duchess Corrinne.
Claire: I'm listening.
Perry had his driver pass a sack to Claire's Driver.
Perry: Everything Corrinne needs to help Jen is in that sack.
Claire: Are you sure this is going to help her out?
Perry: I'm sure of it. At this point it may just get Silver, Elgar, and Alolan Line back on Passenger trains where they belong.
Claire understood as she left without further notice as soon as the guard was ready while Perry resumed his duties.
On another section of the LNER Chris was taking a slow goods train and he was quite happy with his task.
Chris: Now this is the life. I'm finally doing the work that my wheels were meant to do. Finally I'm living up to my full potential as a goods engine. I don't know why the LNER's operating department didn't put me and my classmates on goods trains to start?
Chris' Driver: I don't know either but regardless at least the issue for the goods trains in this section has been solved with Colby, Bull, and Simon picking up the slack.
Chris' Fireman: But there is still the issue of Silver getting back to passenger trains.
Chris: Speak of the devil there he is.
Chris and his crew saw Silver speaking to Duchess Corrinne as the former was due to yield for the latter on a parcel train before leaving just as Chris arrived.
Chris: Silver what was that about?
Silver: Duchess Corrinne wants to see myself, King Elgar, Alolan Line and Abigail in the Kalos Railway's Workshops so I won't be in the LNER Section of the Kalos Railway tonight.
Chris: What shall I tell the rest of the fleet?
Silver: The same thing I told you and that is pretty much the truth.
Chris: Very well. I will tell the fleet. In the meantime you'd best get going.
Silver agreed as he and Chris resumed their duties knowing that Duchess Corrinne wouldn't call an emergency meeting of the Orient Four out of the blue without having a very good reason and whatever that reason was usually meant that bad things were sure to follow.
Once the work was done for the day the LNER Locomotives reacted loudly as Chris expected.
Galleth: What do you mean Silver's been called away.
Kenan: is it serious?
Natalie: I'm sure Corrinne has a good reason.
Nicole: Of course she does what the fuck do you take her for? A fucking dumbass?
Nigel: Nicole do you even watch what comes flying out of your mouth?
Nicole: You got a fucking problem with my mouth Nigel?
Tempest: Enough! (Nicole and Nigel clammed up at once.) Right now we have bigger problems to worry about. Remember the last time Corrinne called a conference of the Orient Four?
Perry: I remember that.
Anton the Class 66 Diesel who was staying with the LNER locomotives spoke up.
Anton: I'm new here but I kinda heard rumors about a steam engine in America being attacked by a dangerous organization.
Tempest: Then we can freely tell you that it was the reason that Corrinne called that meeting.
Bull: So what you're saying is that we're due for another attack?
Colby: I'm afraid that's what Tempest is saying Bull.
The fleet gulped knowing that things were about to get much harder for them from here on out.
